A black line runs down his eye and across his face, running over the bridge of his nose. His face is slightly rounded giving him a more youthful look. At times he’s been mistaken for a teenager, but his height usually dispels such notions. Tall and lanky with a thin layer of muscle peppering his body.

Extra: He has a tattoo on his chest.

PERSONALITY

Personality: Strength radiates from Kannon in waves washing over creation. Bequeathed a commanding aura by birth his is a mighty existence that demands acknowledgment from all. When Kannon speaks heads swivel and eyes turn, but he isn’t a braggart nor unaware of his stature. Instead, the daemon exploits this intensity for his own purposes. The meek are easily cowed into submission, while most are left unsure how to approach him. This hesitation is usually noticed by the summoner who is more than happy to persuade them into compliance. Of course, both instances are more for private conversations for his more public interactions Kannon adopts a charismatic persona. When he meets another dominating personality, the summoner becomes intrigued. Unused to challenge he sees these interactions as a sort of competition to see, who is the “alpha.” Be it his imposing tallness or his wild appearance there is something about him.

Voracious impulses eternally grip Kannon thrusting him towards debaucherous pursuits. From multitudinous romantic trysts to a ravenous appetite for conquests of lands, objects, and even people. There is nothing that he will not hesitate to plunder in order to satiate his cravings. Because of these gluttonous desires, his ambitions are limitless. No matter how unreasonable or impractical a goal might seem he will stop at nothing to accomplish it. Despite this drive, he isn’t insane and can pull himself away from any commitment if it would endanger him or some larger purpose.

Despite his formidable frame Kannon is quite personable. His sense of humor and charisma are disarming even to the most suspicious of him. This is mainly due to him knowing just how to read the room and manage conversations. Anyone is free to speak with him about any subject or concern, and he would gladly listen. Subordinates, should he have any, are free to vent their frustrations without concern. He is also non-judgmental and will hear out anyone, regardless of their station in life. Should they reveal any crucial information during their confession, Kannon will save that information for later.

Saintly patience weds an analyst’s acumen giving birth to a persistent villain. A methodical and tenacious fellow Kannon prefers to wait before acting. If he sees value in an objective, he will work towards achieving that aim no matter what. If someone or something interferes with the acquisition of that goal, he will do whatever he can to overcome them. His tactics range from sabotage to coercion with murder being the last resort only because it’s the messiest option. If he needs to, however, Kannon will happily shed blood. This is not to say he is some deranged serial killer, on the contrary he abhors senseless killing. Not out of some desire to preserve life or kindness, but simply because it would be a waste of a potential bedmate or pawn.

Prone to diabolical thoughts, Kannon is a devious guy. Sinister and subtle, he isn’t a brazen villain but a meticulous one. Instead of taunts and boasts, he’d rather sabotage from the shadows. He’d much rather employ the façade of a helpful and easygoing guy than an imposing adversary. After all, it’s easier to catch a fly with honey than vinegar. Even with this villainous streak, Kannon can still be a valuable ally. He knows enough to maintain the ploy unless doing otherwise benefits him. He’s also not stupid enough to challenge just anyone.
Likes:

  • Flirtation: Forever hungry for the promises of intimacy, Kannon is your typical playboy.  Born with dashing good looks and a flamboyant personality, people are simply drawn to him. For Kannon, these romantic conquests hold little meaning save for the small few that manage to capture his heart.
  • Jewels: Money is one of his greatest desires because it means access. With jewels his options are limitless and so he works to obtain them no matter what.

Dislikes:

  • Nature: He finds it disgusting and uncivilized.  He’d rather eat in a clean restaurant or roam paved roads than endure the outdoors.

  • Honor and Justice: Moral goods are irritations that hinder his tendencies to corrupt and manipulate. If someone is emboldened by righteous fervor it makes them harder to control.

Motivations:

  • Hedonism: As stated before, Kannon’s principal drive in life is the acquisition of things. With those “things” comes power and wealth. A cliché motivation perhaps, but he never claimed to be some unique snowflake.

Fears:

  • Being Exposed: Strings require unsullied hands to perform their manipulations, as such, Kannon’s fear is having his scheme’s exposed. To this end, he maintains a friendly façade to the public.
  • Bugs: Alongside his hatred of nature, the summoner also detests bugs off all kinds. If he has to coexist with nature he’d rather do it without insects.

ATTRIBUTES

Strength: 1

Speed:1

Constitution: 1

Endurance: 1

Intelligence: 26

MAGIC

Magic Name: The Hungry Dark

Magic Element: Darkness

Magic Enhancement: Body Defense

Magic Description: Darkness welds flesh to distorted bone, forging silent corpses into howling horrors. Stereotypically sinister in its application, Kannon's mysticism is rooted in the necromantic arts. Like his contemporaries, he is capable of infusing cadavers with menacing magic to snarl and swipe. Where Kannon differs from his peers is in his utilization of magic to amplify and reshape undead. However, despite their more gruesome forms, they are still basically zombie-like constructs.

HISTORY

History: Atop a field of grass sat an ugly little farm, a forgettable thing of aged wood and peoples. Nestled within Savannah it was here that a necromancer and farmer conceived Kannon. Equally unimpressive was the reception to the boy’s birth. Coyan, his father, loved him, but the man was naturally gruff and unable to show a child the affection it needed. Iliana, his mother, feigned joy but seethed in secret. Childhood for him was a suffocating malaise of monotony and pain. Days were endless and fluctuated between studying and toiling fields alongside his father. Children were sparse leaving him isolated with only a stern matriarch and patriarch for company.

Times with his mother fostered only resentment, as she was an inherently cold woman who never wanted a child. Often without the knowledge of his work-beaten papa, she’d subjected the boy to magical experimentation. Less out of a desire to enlighten herself and more out of simple boredom. Youth and threats ensured Kannon’s silence about her torturous tendencies even from her own “husband.’  In earlier times the unholy practitioner-led a bloodied reality that saw her consume innocent lives in some futile attempt to extend her own existence. Eventually, her atrocities alerted unwanted attention causing the villainess to flee.  Unfortunately for young Kannon, this meant he and his oblivious father were little more than a mask to be worn and ultimately discarded.

When pubescence struck Kannon, the necromantic energies he’d inherited from Iliana showed themselves. One day the lad was tasked with retrieving a calf that had wandered into a nearby forest. No longer a child but a young man, his father saw this as an opportunity for his son to take on more responsibilities. Ecstatic at the idea of escaping farm work and his mother’s cruelties he obeyed. Coyan, knowing the dangers of nature offered his son a knife to defend himself. Dagger in hand the boy left as soon as he could.  Sometime after traversing deep into the woods, he happened upon the calf’s half-eaten corpse buried in leaves. Before a single breath could escape his throat a powerful roar tore Kannon from his terror.  Muscles swelling with power, a great beast stood before him in all its glory. Never had the youth laid eyes upon a monster, only hearing about them in his father’s travels. Fueled by fear he drove the dagger into its arm, only to be propelled by the creature’s powerful limb into the felled stranger. Thankfully, the impact wasn’t particularly rough, but the dread had overtaken him, leaving Kannon quivering in panic.

Once again his eyes fell over the cadaver beside him. But the roaring beast would not be ignored, its fearsome cry broke his gaze, refocusing the boy’s attention upon its form. Afraid and out of options, all he could do is utter a single “help” as he desperately attempted to shield himself. Doom did not come, instead a voice came to Kannon from the ether. It promised many things, but most importantly it promised safety. All annon needed to do was accept it, which he did without question. At that moment Kannon changed and the frightened boy became a confident man. Using the knowledge, he’d stolen from his mother’s spell books the boy summoned a terror unlike anything imaginable.  Dressed in barky appendages and withered flesh appeared a ghastly horror. Without hesitation the ghoulish nightmare stabbed its branch-like digits into the wild beast, killing it instantly.  When the behemoth fell, Kannon’s eyes widened in confusion and anxiety. Where the monster once stood a new evil occupied its place. Confused, he cautiously approached the wheezing abomination. Hesitant fingers hovered silently towards it, only for it to disperse into a black haze before pouring into the youth’s body. Bewildered, he returned to the farm.

Unsure of what he would say, or what his father would do he mulled over possible excuses. Unable to come up with anything he decided to blame the missing cattle on a monster attack.  Bruises and cuts that covered his body was sufficient proof of his claims, or so he figured.  His father would have just assumed he had escaped, and all would hopefully turn out ok. Of course, the “thing” that emerged from Kannon and the events that followed led him to think otherwise. When he returned to the farm, he’d confessed his failures to his father who returned a hug and paternal assurances that it was fine. He could always replace a calf, but not his son.  With his son home Coyan left for a nearby town to handle business, but insisted he tell his mother as well.

A painful slap from his irate mother greeted him. With his father away she had no reason to wear her mask and berated her son for his failure. Another slap ensued as did a torrent of venom aimed at the boy. Her rage had yet to be satiated and another painful strike would have followed if not for withered hand crushing her wrist.  From the ether a gnarled limb emerged, with a monstrous figure in tow. Shock and confusion saturated the aged Necromancer’s words as the creature seized her. Not to be outdone by the terror she ordered Kannon to help her, but to her dismay he smiled. Enraged her own child’s duplicitousness she readied a spell in her palm, but her attempt was rendered futile when Kannon stabbed her.

Tears spilled fourth from her eyes alongside thin trails of blood flowing from her hand. Quite simply Kannon was tired of her and the pain she had inflicted upon him for years. It was time she knew anguish, and now he was in the position to inflict it. With a snap of his fingers Kannon commanded the creature to toss her into a nearby wall. Beaten and battered, Iliana cursed her son through broken teeth and bloodied lips. For her defiance she received only mocking laughter, and taunts about she was a pathetic old woman who needed to leech off others to survive. Kannon refused to kill her, but he instead wanted her to live with the humiliation of being beaten and spared. It was also in that moment that the boy relinquished the life he lived in order to pursue another. A few mocking taunts marked his steps before he left the farm, saying goodbye to all he’d known up until that point.

At the ripe age of nineteen Kannon became a bounty hunter with loyalties to none, but himself. His past was, but a dream to him that he recalled only in hazy snapshots and pain. The creature at his beckon call the only “family” and company he cared for. Sometimes he’d wondered what became of the man that was his father, but such thoughts were fleeting. Whoever, or whatever that creature that he called mother was a memory he’d been all to happy to suppress.
