Nana was not used to this type of treatment from her clients. then again, Santa Clause or Father Winter or whatever he referred to himself and his wife- were not Nana's typical clients. No, they were more and arguably better than most of the unsavory clients Nana had to deal with on a consistent basis inside and beyond Fiore. This situation sort of reminded her of the recent dark universe extra guests. namely the Pumpkin king and how Nana entertained him. The biggest difference between then and now was the roles were reversed. Father and Mother Winter had decided to treat nana and give her a days reprieve before she was to finish the tasks that had set up for her.

"This is a lot of books." Nana would say out loud, mostly from surprise at the sheer volume of knowledge the Father and Mother Winter had collected over the years. How many years that had been, Nana couldn't say. She stood in a library, neatly dusted and quiet- a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Christmas activities and work. Nana's request and idea of relaxation was a hot cup of coffee and books to read in peace and quiet.

Nana was not bothered for quite some time. In fact, her first interruption was barely worth mentioning. A little elf snuck into the library and discreetly refilled nana's hot coffee without saying a word or crossing her line of sight as to not interrupt her train of thought as her mind danced in the fantasy of words that spread across the pages of the most recent book she had picked up.

It had been a very long time since the daemon woman had picked up a book and relaxed. In her earlier days in the Eternal Nightmare guild, she did this often. Yet as she reached ever higher in the guild and in the world, she found less and less time to relax and read books in peace and quiet. It was a nice change and Nana sat comfortably in a leather lazy chair near a fire pit that danced in the warm room almost as much as the myriad worlds in the book that danced in Nana's mind to weave intricate stories and mental images.

Nana was not too certain how much time had passed as she was reading. All she knew was that her coffee cup never seemed to empty. Eventually though, her bladder was full from drinking so much coffee and thus she had to pause her book reading to releive herself. After she was finished, she washed her hands and realized that she was hungry. 


By the time she made it back to the old library, her coffee had been refilled and a tasty looking sandwich was sitting on the small table beside the lazy chair where she had been reading. "How convenient. i had just realized I was hungry." she said amazed. It was as if she were being monitored heavily or her mind was being read. Either thought was unsettling, but she allowed herself to sit back and relax once again. She picked up the third book, the one she had set down temporarily and now picked it up to resume it. Hopefully she would be able to finish a couple more books in the limited respite she had.
