The Lovers Tarot: Vex (Azure) Empty Wed May 11, 2022 12:10 pm

Vex
The Wood elf would come to this forest to meet with her friend Azure because before he had left the west, he had invited her to the north and she wondered where she might even run into him up here and if she was being stupid for doing this and going north because their is most likely a lot of people up here that would have a bone to pick with an eternal nightmare member, than she would have had if she had just stayed in the west where she at least would have some kind of buffer of protection from a member of her guild and she doubts Azure would really have much pull up here with the big fish she knows are swimming around up here and might just smell the fresh blood in the water.

She was not looking to get caught up in some power struggle feeding frenzy for control of the north between paradise dawn and sleeping craplamity if she was to get caught in that she is unsure which side would more be coming after her in the end. She hopes that Azure shows up soon.

Azure Fenic

Still unsure about the potion that was gifted to him Azure lay in his bed holding it to the sunlight that crept in. The words from the elder still played in the back of his head as to what they meant by them was still an ongoing investigation. Not wanting to keep it on the back burner he made his way back to Woodsea to find out what they were trying to tell him. It seemed like he had been neglecting his mount for some time but today would hopefully fix that.

As he and Extortion were making their way to the settlement the griffins left-wing froze mid flap sending them spiraling into the Deep Green. "If this is a prank it's not fu-!" Azure shouted as they started to fall through a comedic number of branches, Passing out after the tenth or eleventh branch his slightly bruised body was hanging from vines.

Vex
As if from some children's book Akiza heard the mans voice then the sounds of cracking branches and she hurries to the nearby area where she sees Azure hanging in the branch by the vines, she removed her boots and climbs the tree like it is nothing then walks across the branch keeping her balance and she starts messing with the vines and she lowers Azure to the ground then she jumps down and lands
rolling then up to her feet and she walks over to Azure and she kneels in front of him. "You okay fly boy?" She starts looking him over then looks around for his mount as she knows he didn't just randomly fall from the sky so it should be around here some where as well.

"You often just drop into the forest on a ladies?" She giggled softly as she knew this was an odd thing to just happen and she starts using healing magic onto the mage that indeed looks a little beaten up.

Unlike its owner, the griffin had managed to catch itself on a strong branch and squawked as it watched the Lady help its master to the ground. He could partly hear someone talking to him as slowly opened his eyes and muttered random phrases in a weird hybrid combination of all the languages he knows. "Wh-what? Ah! Vex!?" he jumped to his feet and stumbled backward six feet given that she was the last person he wanted to run into.

As she finished her second question he wobbled slightly looking around for his mount when he heard a weak squawk above him. "Falling is not my preferred way to meet someone." the informant tried not to look directly at her given what he learned from his trip home. Azure looked around to try and spot any of her little followers given how protective they are of her he didn't need any of them attacking.

"If you are looking for my followers they had went on ahead of me to the check point. You are fine they know you are stupid not dangerous." She laughs softly and walks closer to him and she checks his shoulder to make sure it isn't dislocated or anything, see as it is fine she walked bare foot back over to her boots and she puts her socks back on and then her boots and she wonders if this man was really okay or not.

"Azure focus, are you hurt anywhere else or are you okay now?" She knows she has to ask him how he fell if he would be willing to let her in on why he had seemed to be falling for her this fine day. "So what is the story of you falling then if it wasn't for me?" She giggled slightly at the way she had worded it cause she knows this is probably driving Azure crazy they way she was speaking to him.

He let out a small sigh as she informed him about his followers though his head was still in some pain it was manageable for the time being. Trying not to make eye contact was rather rough given it was something that was ingrained in him but was needed giving he saw her in a much brighter light now. "Huh what ya I'm fine...oww," he could feel his ankle was sprained or something but he didn't want to worry her.

Azure tried to hide his limp from her as he walked over to a rock to sit on. He patted the top and side's of his head to make sure he wasn't bleeding "Well, I was actually looking into something." looking up he tried to spot his mount but it was mostly just the branches he broke coming down. Rubbing the back of his neck nervously Something like this had never happened before and made him think if he was treating her right.

Vex can tell he is hiding something, she figures he isn't ready to admit when something happened or if something was going on to her. "Well if you find that anything is wrong let me know so I can treat it, cause acting brave and hiding injuries is the best way for us to get into trouble and you being less useful and getting yourself killed or hurt more because you hid a wound or injury." She had  no choice but to trust him even if she knows that he could be hiding something from her.

She looks up and she sees the mount and she wonders if there is a way to get the poor thing down safely or if it is just gonna end up being fully stuck there for a bit till it can fly again. She sighed then started scaling the tree to treat his mount and see if she can find a way to help the poor thing down or if she was gonna have to mount it and talk it down slowly and hope that it doesn't panic while she was on it and toss her to the ground. Once she reached the place the mount is she starts healing on it's wing and she looks for other injuries. "You have anymore injuries big buddy?" She is using a calm voice so she doesn't cause the creature to panic.

He didn't know how to respond to her seeing how she did make some rather strong points but it wasn't something he wanted to hear right now. Though he did try and play cool it wasn't as though he did it for her it was more so for himself Why is she being so bossy today? he asked himself watching her claim up the tree. From what he knew about her she didn't really have a lot of physical ability but watching her in action made created room for correction.

Extortion allowed her to med its wing but was also contemptuous with just relaxing in the tree for the time being. "So umm while you're here about that tour?" he asked her hoping that the rustling of the trees and creaking of the branches would muffle his words. Part of him did want to tell her about his visit home but at the same time telling her would create even more issues for them. "Hey umm Vex could I ask you something semi personal?"

Vex finishes mending the creatures injury and she makes her way down while leading the mount out of the trees and she again takes a leap down then perfectly combat rolls and then stands up again and makes room for the mount to come down if it was coming down as well behind her and she looks to azure as she dusts herself off and smiles. "Wait was I offered a tour I do not recall that." she tapped her chin and she winks.

She gigged softly and wondered how hard he must have hit his head if maybe he is starting to see or hear auditory illusions. She hears him ask her if he can ask her something semi-personal and she wonders what he is gonna ask cause up until now he seemed pretty dense about anything else but his info gathering and how he can farther himself in the scene. She figured he lived more through his work then he did through breathing in air and interacting with people normally outside of a info gathering circle with his contacts.   "I guess it should be fine as long as I have the right to after hearing it to either deny giving an answer or to tell you I will need to think on an answer and get back to you at a different time." She tucks her hair back behind her ear and she smiles waiting for him to ask what is on his mind.

As she finished treating the mount the two made their way down the informant let out a sigh of relief as seeing that it wasn't something serious. While she was more than likely making fun of him for or at least trying to play off actually forgetting about their last interaction. "If I didn't know any better I say you like messing with me." something that he was slowly becoming accustomed to at this point in their partnership.

Azure had been rather confused in the recent days but one thing was certain, however, and that was taking time to have a normal life going to be the new main focus. As she gave her response he looked everywhere but at her "W-What's your type exactly?" without even realizing it the question was asked in Caelese. The pure confidence was odd given that it had never been present in any of their past encounters.

She looked at him and she laughed at the man standing there and when he said he swore she liked messing with him she knew she had to admit she really did like to mess with him. "Oh I will admit that I do like to do that." She giggled softly into her hand, she had heard word that their is a wood elf settlement hidden deeper into this area that was hidden she wondered if she would walk or end up running into any of them while she was here with Azure.

When Azure asks her that question she looks at him as she tries to guess what he had just said cause she didn't understand the language he had just used to ask what ever he had just asked of her. "Sorry to say I didn't understand you, could you say it again but in a language that I can understand?" She looked slightly embarrassed that she was unable to understand him after she said she would maybe answer his question. She wondered if this was his way of getting back at her for messing with him, but she figured maybe whatever he had asked had made him nervous enough to mistakenly ask it in a different language. She keeps a smile trying to just play it off so he doesn't feel too embarrassed about what they had just done.

Part of him felt as though this shad just become part of their interactions when they see each other though he did question just why she didn't let such a sideshow to her followers from time to time. "Ha, I knew it!... I mean figured as much," hearing her admit that she did do enjoy toying was nice to a point. Blu looked at his mount as he was still trying to avoid meeting her eyes. Both sides of their minds were slightly confused neither of them even realized that they weren't speaking correctly "What are you talking about?" Extortion looked at him and hung its head as if to say that it was dumbfounded by this.

"Vex, do you remember when we met in Astera?" given that it had been two years the odds of that meeting still being accessible that memory was rather slim. Azure would look at Vex and feel the strange pain in his chest. Is this what mom was talking about? he asked himself unsure if this was the right time to ask her.

She is confused to why he keeps speaking in languages she can't understand as he seemed to have been able to talk and speak to her normally before now maybe she had done something wrong to him and now he was getting back at her for doing what ever it was as she had no idea what could be happening. She just stood there and wait for him to speak in a way she could understand him and not have to just be left out in the dark while trying to talk to him and see if he was okay or not.

"I do remember it, I had heard a rumor about you an info broker so I sought you out, and when I walked up you had a folder on me mixed in with others on the table and drank a bit and flirted a little with you. Then you told me I was not your type if I recall correctly. I still have my people looking for the man you were seeking but they seem to be a ghost or deeply hidden." She sighed a little bit at reminding herself that he had already made it clear that she was not his type. She guessed it was friends then from this moment on since she wasn't his type and she wasn't going to keep barking up the tree on a road that had already ended in a dead end for her. She guessed she was just as unlucky in love as she was in life but she would just have to grin and bare it. She looked back at him wondering why he had asked if she had remembered.

The fact that he didn't even realize that he was shifting between all the languages but the common was either a new mental defense or something. Azure looked up from the ground and locked eyes with Vex, looking at her made the pain worse "Well thats not how I recall it happening..." he paused for a second as she mentioned something that was rather interesting. The forest and his mount had agreed that this conversation was going to get really spicy. Filtering was still something that he needed to understand, his face turned beet red as he replayed that day in his mind.

Azure tried to get his words together as wanted to actually ask his question, Extortion made its way behind Azure and pushed him towards the wood-elf "Hey quit it!" he muttered limping over to her. "Well I wanted to know i-if mmmaybe I was your type?" he was now within hug distance of her though he wasn't really hiding his body trembling he had hopped she didn't make fun of him.

"How do you remember it?" She wondered if maybe she was misremembering the details of their encounter, she didn't think she was mistaken but maybe just maybe she was. She turned just in time to see the mount push azure toward her. "Seems your mount is wanting you to walk it seems. Where you my type?" She shrugs it was in the past now and she starts walking forward down the path with them. "Doesn't matter now you made it clear you have no interest and I am fine with just being friends."

She said it without thinking having no idea that he might have had a change of heart as she had do idea and he had said nothing about his feelings just said that was not how he had remembered their meeting going and she wondered what she had forgotten or if they are pulling her leg to get back at her for calling him out.

So this is what mom was talking about before, he thought to himself as now the past situations had started to defog themselves. "That's not important right now, you remebering that meeting is what I cared about." his child side facepalmed as they had realized their tone conveyed a different meaning than what they had wanted. 

Azure clutched his chest as the pain had started to double in size though from how she spoke it seemed as though he was a villain within this short story. "No that wasn't it at all..." he said in a soft tone the feeling that had only recently been unearthed had started to fully make its way to the surface. Even with the advice from his mothers finding the right words was still difficult, it was odd for him to be at a loss for words given he normally never stops talking. "Vex I've recently found out some stuff about myself." Blu tried to find the words to convey what he wanted to say but couldn't.

She watched as the man begins to flounder with his words and she had no idea of how or why he was starting to flop like a freshy reeled in fish gasping for air as he is being thrown into a bucket. Had she done something wrong had she some how offended him in some way she had not a clue what was going on in his head and it just left her wondering about it.

She saw him clutch his chest and she wondered if she had missed that he had cracked ribs or something. "Are you hurt or something is see you clutching your chest are your ribs hurt?" She got a bit closer to the mage and she is looking him over to see why he is looking like he is running a fever and that his chest hurts so if need be she can help him to feel better and in less pain then he looks like he is in.

"What did you find out about that you like a newer book?" Her voice seemed to have a touch of teasing in it as if she was making a bit of fun at him for stumbling over himself and seeming like his mind was being flooded buy hundreds of thoughts.

Azure hadn't realized he was still clutching his chest until she mentioned it "I'm fine Doc, don't worry so much." this was a lie as the pain in his chest was rather painful but manageable at the same time. The more he thought about the wording and tone of his delivery the more pain filled his chest along with the anxiety about her response to the update. The forest had been rather silent given that the last time he was here it lead him to a certain location. 

His heart had started to sound like a piston moving at top speed as he racked his brain to let her know his real feelings about her. "Vex is my type!" as the words left his lips it was like his brain shut down for two seconds and then rebooted itself. Blu covered his mouth "I-I mean bbback then you asked and-" he cut himself off as the mature side of him tried to stabilize them mentally so they could give a better explanation. Get it together Azure we've been over this scenario so many times! the mature side shouted within their mind. Extortion gently nudged the summoner as they had shut down and stopped moving all together.

She has no idea to what this man is going on about but she really hopes that he is okay and she ruffles his hair a little with a giggle "I hope you really are okay and are not just acting tough now." She looked at him as he blurted out something that she didn't catch as she had turned swearing that she had heard something that was coming from behind them but there was nothing there just trees, she figures it was probably just animals that were roaming around and then she looks back to him.

"What did I ask? How about we just go for a walk and you just relax? If you gather your thoughts later you can tell me what it was." She gently patted him on the back than she began to walk following the trail into the forest that laid ahead of them as far as the eye could see and she wonders if what he had to say would be important. She figures she will find out soon enough that she should just enjoy her time with her good friend Azure for now.

After a few minutes of having shut down the rebooted and found himself highly upset with himself, Why are confessions so hard!? he asked himself as he followed behind her silently given that he failed to tell her what he really wanted. Something that told Azure that this moment was perfect but now it seemed as though this wasn't the actual moment for this but if anything it was great in-person practice if anything. With two failed attempts now under his belt it was safe to think that the next time will be so flawless. 

The sensation of some's eyes following had started slowly shifting his focus from the main adjective. The more he tried to think of ways to express himself the less confident he became in himself, Maybe I should just write a letter I'm good at writing letters a thought that had run through his mind as it seemed to work in the manga that he read while on the ride back to the north.

She kept walking with him and she wondered what he was thinking about as it seemed to be taking nearly his full attention and he seemed to more fidgety and brooding than he normally was when she had seen him. Vex thought of something that would maybe cheer him up and maybe get him to focus on what he is doing or trying to do before he was to walk into a stone wall or go walking off a cliff because he was not paying attention. She knows they are getting close and that she would need to gain the courage to do it before they reached the place she would be staying while she is in the north with her cultists. Once they had gotten into sight of the place she will be staying she turned and she smiled getting closer to him then whispering in his ear.

"If I find out you hid an injury from me I am gonna kill you~" She gave him a peck on the cheek then stepped back with a wink then she turned and went inside the building closing the door behind her. She hoped that her doing that will help him find the light in the darkness of his thoughts and that he will not hold it against her.

As they walked the informant couldn't help but feel as though he had been lacking in some department but couldn't place his finger on it. The number of scenarios that Azure had to play through to finally get the weight off his shoulder, the bulk of them had to do with him falling on their face trying to put on a show for her. The other options had to do with asking for more advice from his family but then that would place them at risk of being found. 

As she quickly have him a peek on the cheek and went inside her temporary home he looked at her "...I love you" he muttered as she closed the door. Unable to fully process exactly what had transpired moments ago he headed back to the guild to decompress and relax before jumping into any type of work. He kept replaying the moment nearly a hundred times before plopping onto his bed.
