Khalfani strolled through the city of Oak, aimlessly. There wasn't anything for him to do and so he decided that he would just enjoy the day. He had been taking quest after quest making jewel after jewel attempting to stack up for all that was to come. He wanted to buy himself gear, but none of the shops in these towns had anything to his liking. The magic shops here didn't have any weapons or items that he would actually use, so he was assed out in the west. Still, his mind and heart yearned for the perfect weapon. He had been weaponless for so long it came as a shock that he was actually up and running amongst the strongest of mages in Eternal Nightmare. The day was young and before he left the west to officially establish his very own creation in the north, he wanted to embrace the city of Oak.

This is where part of his story began. The roots he had in this town were small to outsiders, but big to him. As the sun danced in the sky, peering through the fluffy white clouds above, Khalfani embraced its warmth. Now that he wasn't a vampire it felt so...different. So fresh...so...new. It was like he had been reborn again. Granted the connection he once had with the Zharian god Amun was severed, his connection to Apep was still strong. Through Apep he was able to obtain his dragon slayer magic. Finally his body seemed to have been getting somewhere. This was surely the final change magic and class wise that he would go through, right? Although this day was meant to simply be one of enjoying the simple pleasures the world had to offer, the workaholic he had become wouldn't allow him to. The spell sword approached a quest board and thought hardly about taking one.

One one hand he could get take it and make some quick cash. Quick cash was always a good thing if he did a job that required virtually no effort. On the other hand he was just extremely tired. His body had been working over time and maybe it was best to rest? Khalfani paused. After a moment of thinking he made his decision final. Yup, quest it is. The panther snatched the paper off of the board and followed its directions. All he had to do was go to the store, baby sit the store and wait for the shop keeper to get back. Easy enough. Hopefully there weren't any twists. That would really grind his gears. So the former Eternal Nightmare mage began to make his way to the shop. It wasn't a far walk but but he decided to take to his time. The store quickly became in eye distance and when he entered he could see the shop keeper waiting patiently.

He popped up before jogging over to Khalfani and explaining the details after realizing he was here to do the quest. Rander was his name. Rander was going to leave his store to go to a drinking contest. So much for priorities. With a shrug Khalfani made his way through the store as Rander left the the establishment. The items were all simply food and other necessities people may need and it was stacked. So, the first thing Khalfani did was treat himself to some of the snacks on the shelf. He took the cheesy chips and strolled behind the counter. Rander would be back later tonight so he had a lot of time to spare. With nothing else to do he grabbed a magazine that was beside him and began reading it. It was called Sorcerer's weekly and had some pretty people on the front page too. As Khalfani began reading his eyes began dimming, slowly but surely he was falling asleep until his head dropped onto his arms and that was that.

The Black panther who had been working so hard over these last few days was officially out for the count. Like a baby who had just been fed a warm bottle of mommy's milk, Khalfani slept as the time went by. The sun had went down, the temperature outside had lowered and here he was warm in the store not paying attention to anything. That was, until he heard scuffling and shaking of the loose plastic windows outside. The spellsword awakened, frowned and scurried to the front of the store. "Hey!" he shouted as the masked bandits hurried away. He couldn't see their faces so he couldn't remember who they were, but they had definitely ruined the front of the store. With a defeated sigh he frowned and shook his head. The shop keeper must have made some enemies with some rebellious kids. Welp, it could not be helped anyway.

Someone would come and clean the front of the store sooner or later. Hell, he may even get paid to do it. Turning his back he went back towards the counter before hopping over and putting his head down again. They weren't gonna stop his beauty sleep. The panther went to rest again, some more time passing before he heard the same rattling again. He wasn't sleeping hard enough this time, so his reaction time was a lot quicker. Lifting his head he slowly went to the front of the store before opening the door and seeing the bandits there. They couldn't run this time. So, without a moment of hesitation Khalfani darted towards the first one, kicking him in the face before beating the pulp out of the other ones. He hadn't stopped until he heard someone beg for him to ease up.With a sigh Khalfani rolled his eyes and told them to shoot. They scurried off beaten and bloody. The Panther didn't feel bad at all. This shop keeper was a working man who probably had a family to feed and everything. This will teach them a lesson. When the shop keeper returned Khalfani told him what had happened before being paid and leaving. Stupid kids.
