Again the city of Baska had summoned the young mage to its core. At this point the town began to feel like a bit of a second home to him. The Innkeeper even began to keep a suite just for him that was as nice as a room in a small town probably could be. Given the boy grew up in the tundra with ice where walls were supposed to be, he had no complaints with anything. The room was dressed in decorative red fabrics from Fernando himself, the designs based on Encan traditions as a surprise for the boy's hard work.

Upon exiting he received a letter that contained his instructions, he was to fight another upstart champion looking to crap on the competition by typically deplorable means. He sighed, he had yet to recover fully from the events of his last mission here but alas he needed the pay check and to the tournament he went.

His walk to the tournament met him with a number of curious emotions. He had some people who looked at him as the reincarnation of some evil entity, while others gave him a familiar nod and a firm handshake. He felt very unsure of his place within the town now that he his relationships felt very dynamic to say the least. Nathaniel had yet to experience anything extreme from anybody but the entire vibe felt very different to his excursion a few days prior.

Putting it all behind himself Nathaniel would arrive at the tournament block with a smile as though he was completely unphased by the now slightly hostile environment. With his new sword in tow, a layer of fresh winter snow coating his beige cloak and his red gloves standing out against his attire he prepared to sign up for the tournament yet again.

He was really hoping things would be different this time.

As he wrote his name onto the parchment again, he found another male approaching him swiftly, bumping directly into him and moving him a smidge. His eyes crawled to the side of his head as he looked at the man who stood at the table and gave him a serious look. Nathaniel did not even seem to flinch under his gaze, looking at him for a moment before going right back to signing.

The man didn't like that and within moments attempted to grab Nat by his collar, only to find Nathaniel swiftly raising a finger to his face, gesturing for him to be quiet. As he finished writing his name he stood up from his slouch and faced the man down with a rather straight face. He laughed within a few moments though.

"Sorry, poor intimidation tactics makes me laugh." He smiled uncaring about the man's demeanor only to have him threaten him before uttering he'd see him in the ring.

Whatever, he had to warm up now anyway.

Nathaniel sat in the stands and watched, he didn't have to do much for his first opponent, he left before he had to actually battle him. Apparently after his last opponent died in the ring people were much more hesitant to step into the ring to battle him and he honestly couldn't blame them. Nathaniel was not particularly fond of this but he also couldn't help that he felt very little remorse for it. He obviously didn't go out to kill but to Nathaniel, attacking a warrior with his back turned, especially someone who grew up having to fight for his survival, was likely not the best idea. His attire seemed drenched in the stain of that moment as far as someone of the contestants could see and to be frank they might as well have skipped him forward to the final match.

Not a single person in attendance beyond the initial man he met seemed keen on getting into a fight with him. He shrugged, he got paid regardless although he was very sad he had fewer moments to test out his skills.

The announcer had called out for a man to take the stage, it was the burly man who ran into Nathaniel prior to and he seemed interested in making a show of this entire situation. He took his opponent on in an excellent display of spear work, his combination of magic and technique made him seem furious and to top it off he was a wind mage as well. His opponent spiraled into the air, tossed up by a whirlwind before landing outside of the ring, his display of pure skill clearly overshadowing anything the farmer could muster in response. The man stood victorious, raising his weapon into the air momentarily as the announcer called his name, and the crowd cheered in response. Something along the lines of the Yellow Fury? Nathaniel honestly couldn't tell you.

By the time the blonde man had located Nathaniel in the crowd he was asleep, head rolled back completely, arms open and legs open as he was entirely too comfortable sleeping in the snow. The man would have realized he was awake for prior matches, however something about this match in particular sent the boy straight to bed.

Waking up at the sound of his name, Nathaniel got up and stretched while the people around him looked at him with a combination of judgment and a cheerful demeanor. His light hearted nature always earned him a combination of smiles and bewilderment and he was happy to see that hadn't changed at the very least. His eyes scanned the area around him, looking for his sword and locating it on the floor just beneath his feet. Picking it up, Nathaniel would leap from the stand, landing on the ground again with a grace that was good for a human yet subpar for his elven lineage. He yawned again, scratching his side as he looked straight ahead awaiting his opponent's appearance, hoping this time he could at least keep his sword with him. He looked at his wrist as if searching for a watch because for some reason that yellow fury guy had yet to show up.

Nathaniel had nearly fallen asleep standing by the time the guy showed up, suddenly he was armor clad and carrying a much deadlier spear than he had been prior. "Spent all that time getting dressed?" Nathaniel questioned, his brow raising as the man took his stance, legs spread apart to shoulder's width and his gaze falling dead onto the dark haired boy. He couldn't even tell why they called his Yellow Fury in his mostly crimson armor with golden trims. Nathaniel leaned forward to really check the man out but couldn't really discover which part of that armor was supposed to help him take on the wind mage.

scratching his head Nathaniel stood up straight before shrugging and proceeding to remove his cloak, exposing his scar ridden body to the gentle winter of Fiore. "I guess if that's how we're doing it." He stated before putting his hand on his hip and resting the other atop his blade. The man seemed confused. So did the announcer and well the audience. But no one questioned it, the collective silence said more than enough about how everyone felt about the boy.

The fight didn't even really last that long, Nathaniel made short work of the man within the metal frame and found himself enjoying a satisfying moment in the winner's circle. Despite his best efforts this time around, however, the man within the metal suit was hit hard enough for the casing to damage and strike his ribs. A moment where Nathaniel ended the battle, tossing the man over his shoulder wound up with him landing and breaking his neck as well. Now not only had Nathaniel killed his last two opponents, but the audience was definitely not having it with him at this point.

some clammered on about it being a mistake, some said he came back after two years as some form of blight on the town. Whatever the reason was, his name had begun to spread around the town much more than it had prior. While many understand that fighting can often lead to death and he was not even the first person to kill someone in a match, let alone twice, it was the fact he had built a name for himself as a jovial and happy lad that had everyone spinning in their seats.

Nathaniel had definitely come back different, but this was not one of the changes he expected.

Returning to his hotel, the boy found his way to bed where he would sleep off the worry and misery before collecting yet another fat cheque from his mysterious benefactor. He was unsure if he was being paid to bring in hype or actually just beat particular opponents at this point but it was becoming incredibly clear he had made a name for himself within the tournaments in Baska.
