Summoner

Summoners spend much of their time exploring the magical arts alongside their summons. While their power comes from within, they rely heavily on their summons in dangerous situations. While a Summoner and his creatures function as individuals, their true power lies in what they can accomplish together with the Summoner guiding them towards victory. The magic itself is one of the more specialized branches of magic. The summons can come in all shapes and sizes, and reflect the elements of the user themselves, allowing for nearly limitless possibilities in how they can appear and function. Possessing magical abilities themselves, they can also act as spellcasters, using the mana of their Summoner to conjure spells of their own. From the likes of the purely physical brawling summons, or caster summons able to attack from a range, the limit comes only from the imagination of the Summoner, and how far they are willing to push the boundaries of magic.

Spell Types

  • Superior: Summoning
  • Normal: Other-Buff, Offensive, Supplementary

Feats

Battle Through Summons: Summoners cannot use Offensive-type spells themselves except for the spells attached to items. Their summons, however, may use Offensive-types.
Summoners Curse: Summoners suffer a Minor Physical Weakness.

Specializations

  • Swarmer: Swarmer Summoners are incapable of casting Champion-based Summons instead have an additional +3 Summon Slots as a base. Summons created by a swarmer when they are destroyed will explode for two ranks lower then their base rank.

  • Occultist: Champion summons are remarkably more intelligent no longer requiring direct commands and may act independently. The user may only exclusively cast Champion-based summons, however, they are unrestricted in spell range and consume 5% of the user’s total mana pool regardless of the rank. Champion Summons as a base receive a minor physical resistance and a moderate elemental resistance to their own element.

  • Warlock: The user uses their Health for casting spells, taking damage equal to the rank of the spell. Mana cost reduction reduces the amount of damage taken by 25% reducing the amount to one rank lower, 50% reduces the amount by two ranks and 75% reduces the amount by three ranks. Percentage-based mana drain deals 1x B-Rank for every 5% lost per turn, this can not be lower below that number. Damage taken from this effect is not impacted by any resistances or weaknesses that the user has.

Every 100 points of the user’s base mana are converted into +10 SP which is added onto the user's constitution in topic, respectively; i.e. if the user has 1000 mana, when they enter a topic they must consider their mana as 0 and their constitution as +100. The user receives an additional 1x A-Rank overall durability for every 250 points above +1001 in constitution. This additional durability can only be used for casting spells and does not add to the user's durability when receiving damage from other sources.
