Sho

Sho arrived on the scene ready to go. Earlier he received a mission from the Rune Knights dealing with a missing person’s report. It was the husband of a local man married to a woman named Marlee. Together they owned a cheese shop and had plans to move to Crocus to expand their business of cheese. The issue was the husband went into a manor about a month ago and has yet to surface from the mansion. It was just right at Sho’s pay grade to do this mission and this time he was flying solo. No Captain Seika, no safety net this mission was all on Sho. So the pressure was on to complete a mission like this with no help. This would be the stepping stone to something bigger, well that is what Sho hoped for in the least. He was excited because he just bought a new weapon to aid him in battle. Some would say he was compensating for something but the size of the weapon for the price was a steal. He was strong enough to wield it no problem. It was strapped to his back while being wrapped up in a bandage to conceal it as best as he could. Back on task Sho found himself standing outside of the manor where the husband supposedly vanished for a month.

Sho

It was dark outside, Sho figured it would be best to use the cover of night to sneak into the manor undetected. Standing outside of the rather large gate Sho looked around, it looked like the manor had someone in it, Sho could see some lights on in the inside. So he had to be extra careful when entering the building. In this case he would be breaking the law to do good but Sho was okay with breaking some eggs to make a omelet. Sho looked around once again to make sure no one was watching, thankfully they were in a secluded area so foot traffic was a bare minimum with a few people wandering by occasionally to get to their destination. Sho took a few steps back, ending up in the street. He figured he would hop the fence here to make his way into the manor. He rubbed his hands together and took a deep breath. With his full speed he dashed and leaped into the air, magic circles appearing on the bottom of his feet giving him some extra push. He leaped high into the air and grabbed onto the fence and climbed over. Oddly enough there wasn’t any spiked or barbed wire on the top; the security was pretty relaxed. Sho climbed the fence and helped himself over onto the ground. He hid behind a bush, and looked around to make sure he wasn’t spotted or anything.

Sho

No one was around, Sho looked up to see that there was no light on in the manor now. That was eerie to Sho and sent a shiver down his spine. Regardless, the mission needed to be done. Sho stayed low to the ground and he noticed that there was an open window on the first floor of the manor. He decided that would be his best way in at this point. He crossed the rather large yard quickly and quietly over to the open window where he would climb into with no delay. Upon entering the building a slamming of the window could be heard causing Sho to jump up and looked around with his hand on the grip of his weapon. He was breathing heavily as he looked around but there was no one around. Except a duck sitting there, as if it was waiting on Sho to enter. It made a loud quack which Sho put his finger up to his lips signifying that there was to be silence. ‘Why is there a duck here?’ Sho stood up to his full height and made his way around the duck to the main hallway. Sure enough the duck followed close behind Sho. He made gestures trying to shoo away the duck as it could blow his cover at any moment. But the duck just tilted it’s head and continued to follow.

Sho

As Sho made his way down the main hallway he peeked into various rooms only to see medical equipment and other strange tools. Sho looked around to see the duck was still following him, it didn’t make a sound as requested. It was as if the duck understood Sho’s gesture of silence. Sho didn’t question it; he just continued on the path down the odd manor. It wasn’t long before Sho stumbled upon a room with a man making quacking noises and trying to peck at the ground. It was the husband from the mission request. He had been here in the building the whole time but something was off. He was acting like a duck, the duck that had been following Sho walked into the room and began to quack loudly while pointing a wing at himself. It didn’t take long for Sho to put two and two together. The husband had been body swapped with the duck. There were two tables with wires and helmets attached to them. ‘Who could have done this?’ He thought while looking over at the pair making quacking noises. Before Sho could say anything he heard footsteps come from behind. Brandishing a blade a man came barreling down on Sho, quickly spinning around Sho grabbed the arm with a scalpel. They fell backwards onto the ground. The man was trying to overpower Sho with all of his might.

Sho

Little did the man know Sho did eat his wheaties on the regular. He grasped the arm with all of his might causing the man to wince in pain as Sho crushed the man's arms in his hand like a twig causing him to drop the scalpel. The man writhed in pain yelling out as Sho stood up and dusted himself off. Now came the problem of getting the two back into their rightful bodies. “Tell me how to put them back to normal and I may let you go.”

The man stood up slowly while holding his broken arm. “Just put them on the table and flip the switch over there. Jesus you are strong.”

“Ya bet you weren’t expecting that.” Sho went to pick the duck up and put it on the table and then strapped the husband's body onto the other table. With a flick of a switch there were loud noises and lightning dancing all around. As they switched bodies back the doctor made his escape. Sho didn’t care because he got what he came for. “Thank you, thank you so much. You don’t know how long I have been a duck.” the husband explained. “It’s all good, let's get out of here.”
