Odin †

To all members of Eternal Nightmare,

I request your presence in Oak Town as soon as is possible. With our position as a guild now officially established, it is imperative that we unlock the Wischtechian Spire as a base of operations. I have the Black Key in my possession, and shall be there in four days time when the sun reaches its zenith. I wish for you all to join, as this will be a momentous occasion.

Signed, Odin Morningstar, Wizard Lord.

As he sent the letters away, each intended for a different members of his new guild and each hopefully reaching them all soon, one of the acolytes in the Swineherd Pub brashly asked if it was a good idea to sign his own true name, and to give away his location, as the letters could be intercepted and read by anyone. After breaking one of the man's wrists, simply to prove that questioning Odin's orders was not a wise move to make, the Lich was happy to explain his logic: he didn't care. People hunted him every single day, being afraid of those people were what gave them power, and against Odin they held no sway. If someone were to steal one of the letters and learn the information from it, they were welcome to arrive on the day and test their might against Odin, and any of the rest of Eternal Nightmare that were to join.

Odin didn't think so either.

So he wasn't worried, and even arrived early on the day, standing before the grand spire perhaps an hour before noon. He was curious who would be the first of his group to arrive, as he had left even the ones in Oak to arrive in their own time. The spire was its own kind of beautiful, the ancient design of the tower betraying the knowledge that had to lurk within its confines. The black key, tucked away in Odin's cloak, began to release a dull hum, as if it recognised its home, and longed to become one with the spire once more.

Zane held two hands out as he walked towards the meeting place, his eyes scanning back and forth between them. "Do you have any sevens?" He'd confidently ask in his mind, prompting a quick response from Beelzebub. "Go fish." Zane sighed, reaching into his pocket and pulling from a deck that he had left in there. He put the card he had gotten from his pocket into his hand, awaiting for Beelzebub to take his turn. "Do you have any 9s, by any chance?" Zane's eyes widened, looking to the 9 that sat in his left hand. That was the 6th correct guess Beelzebub had made in a row. Something was up. "...Are you cheating? How?"

"Zane, we essentially share the same body. Did you really think I wasn't going to cheat when you've handed the opportunity to me on a gold platter?" Beelzebub asked, Zane's face turning to a frown and throwing the cards he had been holding onto the streets of Oak, the wind picking up some of them and flying them a few meters away. "You demons really do find the need to ruin everything, don't you?" Zane asked, heading up a hill on the outskirts of Oak as his eyes looked in the direction of their destination, his hands now in his pockets as he briskly walked towards the entrance of the spire. "I find that a tad racist, honestly."

Zane was earlier than most, having spent an entire morning bored in wait for this morning. That fact was probably obvious though - the man was playing go fish with himself for god's sake. Having finally arrived about half an hour before anyone was supposed to be there, Zane smiled and held his hand out to Odin in greeting, calling out to the boney man. "You been feeling bone-ly, Odin?" Zane asked, his voice far too amused with his own joke than he had any right being. Zane took a seat on a nearby tree stump, placing his hands in his laps as he took in the sight of the spire. "Does this Zagan guy have a thing for heights? First the Samhain tower, now this one... at least the last one had room service."

Leaning back so that his backside lay entirely on the large stump he had perched himself on, Zane closed his eyes and moved his hands behind his head, waiting for the others to arrive. "Hopefully the others get here soon. I even managed to get another new recruit while we were in Samhain, you know. I've been getting us a lot of those recently." Zane said it in a way that very much made it seem as though he was trying to impress Odin with his recruitment tactics. "It's not as though you tried to go and recruit people, Zane. You sort of did it on a whim each time." Beelzebub commented, Zane shrugging to himself in return. "That ain't important, they're still recruits either way. I'm more worried about someone noticing the fact that I only ever recruit pretty girls." Zane spoke this way only because he had thought he was just talking inside his head. Unfortunately a recent drop in his overall mental sanity had made him accidentally let him and Beelzebub's conversations leak out a few times. "Well, you've let it slip to one of them so far."

"Oh."

"I don't remember ever using the word pretty to describe myself," Vivi said in that same, barely emotional tone she was rather known for. Though this time she said it right in Zane's ear, playing another of her rather bland practical jokes on him. Comedy was well known to be one of her lesser talents, and she wasn't above sneaking up behind someone for a little fun. The shock value alone was worth a bit of a laugh.

She stood up straight again, after bending down to reach his ear, and brushed herself off. She was covered in errant leaves and branches from her travels, some sticking out of her hair and stuck to her clothing. Even a bit of ivy had become entangled in her left horn, but she paid it very little mind. One might even consider her a stoic were it not for the fact that she was as excitable as a calf when the time called for it.

Her gaze was cast up the length of the tower, easily distracted by the practical monolith standing before her. Not being interested at all in history or architecture, she doesn't quite get what she's looking at. Still, the size was enough to impress her. "I wonder how tall it is," She mused absently. "It looks like you could crest the heavens just by reaching the top. What powerful beings must have made this place."

Steel

The day before.

It was in the early morning when Steel woke up at the swineherds pub. Like most mornings he had spent here it all began with drawing a bath. After all he had negotiated to have a tub of his own in the room. Something most people wouldn’t be able to have. The water entered the room and into the tub through a connection of strange metal pipes. It was mixed with water that had been heated in a strange contraption downstairs. And as it entered the tub due to the mixing of hot and cold water what came out was lukewarm but still on the hotter side. A respectably nice temperature. Steel removed his garments and slowly stepped inside the tub. Feeling the heat wash over him as the water slowly rose. And as he lowered himself down into a sitting position some of the water even spilled on the floor due to the added volume of Steel's body.

He stayed in the water for a while taking care to put soap on himself and scrub himself. Washing behind his ears and everywhere else Steel slowly stood up after having washed everywhere. He then raised a leg above the water's surface and above the walls of the tub, took a step outside of the tub and grabbed a nearby towel.

After having dried himself off with the towel Steel started dressing which of course began by putting his underwear and socks on. He then put on a pair of pants and a tunic. Then after putting on the pants and the tunic he equipped his haste ring and his pyaar earrings.

Now came the true hurdle of dressing. First Steel put on a pair of leather ankle boots. Then he started equipping the sabatons, greaves, poleyns and cuisses. Then Steel put on a gambeson and a chainmail. Then he started equipping the rest of the armor. Starting with the breastplate and plackart. Then moving on to put on the vambrace, couter and rerebrace. And the pauldrons. Finally strapping on the gorget and ending the session by equipping his gauntlets.

And so he had finished equipping his armor. Picking up Mjolnir from the floor next to his bed. He made his way to the door of his room and exited. Walking through a corridor and down a flight of stairs he found himself in the main room of the swineherds pub. Now some would think that since he had spent a lot of time in the pub with it as his temporary base of operations that he would have met Odin. But no. He had tried to hide himself as good he could and therefore he had more or less only met the housekeeper and the barmaid(s).

And so as he walked up to the bar the girl who was standing there serving the people looked to him. She said “Hello mister.” She blushed. “How was your bath?” She had been the one to pump the water for him and that is why she knew he had bathed. Steel smiled back. “It was good. I noticed there was a new soap for me. Thank you for that.” She seemed to have a hard time looking Steel in his eyes. Was she truly that enamoured with him or was she afraid of him? After all Steel had a reputation as a member of the most hideously evil guild in all of Fiore.

“Did you like the smell of the soap?” she asked and Steel nodded. But he could not idly pass time here and so he asked “Any news for me?”

He noticed a visual anguish on the face of the girl. He looked her dead in the eyes “Anything wrong?” At which point she could not keep quiet “Some men in blue came and took a letter that was meant for you. I tried to stop them but they flashed the insignia of the Rune knights.” Steel knew that something like this could happen and he could not blame her for caving to authority. After all this was a respected establishment. “In what direction did they go?” She looked up and looked him in the eyes. “They did not say but I noticed them moving for the Wistechian Spire.

Steel understood that the time had finally come for him and his guildmates to claim their rightful place. Zagan had told them all to meet up at the Wistechian spire and so he assumed that the letter had been the call to get there.

He promptly made his way out of the tavern.

Quickly he moved to take a shortcut to the Wistechian spire after all he had a wyvern and with it he could fly and therefore probably move faster than the Rune knights.

Finding himself perched atop a ridge that overlooked the road to the spire. Below. A company of Rune knights waited. There were a lot of them surely twenty at the least. He sighed. This would very surely make him late to whatever meeting he was supposed to attend. He jumped down into the fray of Rune knights. Time to kill.

As he neared the ground it seemed some of them had noticed his presence. One shouted for them to get at the ready but before he had finished his sentence his skull was squashed by gentle greeting from Mjolnir. And over head swing. Steel now stood there on the ground blood had squirted all over him. He sighed. He had just cleaned himself for Illumins sake.

Picking up the body before it had time to fall to the ground Steel raised it in front of himself like a human shield and just as he did he saw a fireball heading his way. He placed the body between himself and the ball of fire. And the body “ate” the fireball. Flames scattered everywhere. Steel moved to be on the next person as quickly as he could, throwing the body of the headless knight on one of his compatriots knocking them over he would swing his hammer to crush the one standing next to the knocked over knight.

He threw the hammer at the next one and it pierced straight through them but with bludgeoning damage. It still looked like the hammer had no resistance in its movement. The moment it made its way through the body Steel called it back into his right hand.

The rest of the fight continued in a similar manner until the ravine passage was covered crimson and the moon was high in the sky. Only then could Steel rest for it had taken him a whole day to kill all of the Rune knights and he was sure that they would send reinforcements the moment that they did not report back. He hid the bodies and took their insignias.

He decided to go into hiding as he slept for the night. Finding a small cave he called the wyvern to join him. Dressing out of his armor he hid it all under the wyvern and hid himself behind one of its wings. It would be so dark that even if someone found them they would not see them.

The day of the meeting.

Steel woke up once again. Wiped his armor down with some clothing he had taken off the Rune knights from the day before and once again equipped the armor but before doing so he stretched and did some morning yoga.

Then he moved out of the cave and called the wyvern to join him. He climbed on top of the wyvern and had it climb out of the ravine for him. He then flew the rest of the way to the Wistechian spire. By the time he arrived he was already an hour late. The wyvern landed in front of the spire twenty meters away from the nearest person who was not Steel.

Steel then got off the wyvern and moved forward. The wyvern quickly left the area when Steel got off it. Flying away into the distance. It was probably gonna go hunt for dinner.

Steel looked towards Odin and spoke “Sorry I am late.” He threw the twenty some Rune knight insignias on the ground in front of the guilds leader before continuing speaking “I had to deal with some unsavory company.” He then stood there and greeted any member of the guild that greeted him.

He then looked back to Odin “Should we get this party started then?”

Zane jumped up and practically flew through the air off of the stump he was sitting on, extremely startled by Vivi's sudden approach. Her words actually took a fair bit of time for his words to even process, his body still being rather shocked. It was a mean trick that a lot of the kids would pull on him back home, and despite the fact that Zane was nearing 30 it still somehow worked just as well as it did when he was 10. "Illumin!" Zane cried out, Beelzebub feeling oddly offended that Zane use the name of a god that Earthlanders worshipped. Grabbing his chest, Zane let out a deep exhale as he now stood a number of feet away from Vivi, instantly recognizing her by her height and build alone. "Don't do that..." An additional few moments were taken for Zane to properly recalibrate himself after the horrors he had just faced. He finally responded to Vivi's initial comment. "You didn't use that word, but I did. And my opinion is always right, so what I said earlier is correct."

Zane turned to face the tower, nodding in agreement with Vivi's comments. "I must admit, this tower is absolutely fantastic." Beelzebub commented, Zane raising an eyebrow at the lord of flies' taste. "I guess demons are probably pretty into the whole tall, menacing, ugly and old theming." The two both prepared an additional 24292349 quips to use against each other, but their amazing banter that was totally going to be written was soon enough cut short by the arrival of another one of their guildmates. It was a dark haired man riding on a wyvern, a beast that both Beelzebub and Zane both quickly noted to themselves that they wanted. Perhaps they'd ask where the hell the vendors of such a beast were later.

The man threw a bunch of insignias on the ground, Zane's eyes quickly brought to them as though he was a monkey that was attracted to anything shiny - this wasn't too far off from the truth, arguably. "Damn, those look nice..." Zane commented, a bit of a longing sound in his voice. "Now I kinda wish we all joined the Rune Knights instead. Maybe you should invest some of our budget into cool crests like that, Odin. Oh! And outfits too. Like, black coats with red clouds on them." Zane's low hanging fruit of a reference was about all he'd contribute to the conversation after that point. He was more curious as to what awaited inside the tower. Him and Beelzebub might find some really great things to plunder in there, after all.

Honestly, with Odin's luck, he should have expected Zane to be the first of his group to arrive. The witty half-demon half-human certainly loved his puns, and today was no exception. At this point he was likely the only person Odin allowed to make jokes about the Lich, but perhaps that was simply because they were so bad, "Welcome Zane. There's no real way to know what goes on in the mind of Zagan but, think about it this way. Giant magical tower, who's to say this one won't have room service too? The Wischtechians were advanced people, maybe they've got lacrima people acting as slaves." It was mostly conjecture, but the ancient civilisation had developed incredible technology, and that was ignoring the awesome power of Nightmare which had been granted them.

Zane then mentioned another recruit, likely the girl sneaking up behind him. Odin said nothing to give away the surprise, if for no other reason than to see Zane suffer even slightly would be incredibly amusing. The pretty girl he had recruited for Eternal Nightmare was indeed beautiful, and also someone Odin had never met before. Bowing slightly, showing the respect that a guildmaster should, he spoke to her, "Greetings, I do not believe we've met. I am Odin Morningstar, Guildmaster of Eternal Nightmare and", if the Lich could smirk he certainly would have before gesturing to Zane and adding, "his boss."

The curse Zane uttered didn't just irritate the demon inside his head. Hearing the name Illumin, the faith that had been trying for almost half a decade now to eliminate Odin, was not something he had been expecting. Between their Holy Knights and general anger towards dark races, the Lich had made it one of his personal missions to inconvenience the faith at any possible juncture, whether it be spam mail or burning down a church.

Steel was the next to show, late despite the fact he flew in on a dragon, apparently having had to deal with what looked like a full platoon of knights, presumably stationed there to cause some kind of upset for Eternal Nightmare's plans. He was even dressed in the armour of a knight, insignia and all. The crest was something that Zane picked up on and desired, the demon of greed's influence clearly showing through, "Ah yes, because giving our enemies and even easier way to identify us is definitely the best idea. It's bad enough that I can't walk into a building without at least seven people running out." Looking to his former protégé from the Fairy Tail days, Odin nodded towards him, "Thank you for dealing with the matter. And nice ride."

With Steel having appeared late, it seemed apparent that no one else was going to join them, or at least not for a while. It was already getting later in the day, and Odin did not wish to waste any time. After all, they had no idea what would await them inside the spire, although the Lich had a couple of ideas. Approaching the great doors, crafted large enough so that even a dragon would have been able to enter the building, likely done in service to Nacht and his group, Odin presented the Black Key from his cloak. The key flew from his hands, inserting itself into a keyhole that the Lich couldn't even see, and turning into magic, fading away and entering the tower.

For a moment nothing happened, the key was lost and the door didn't open. Odin started to doubt Zagan before he noticed something. A dull, almost imperceptible hum was emanating from the spire, getting louder and louder. The tower was waking up, the magic from the key was spreading to every corner of the building, revitalising it as the great doors began to move. The built up earth around them, centuries of rock and stone, was pushed aside like it was nothing, and light flooded into the spire.

The light illuminated the grand entrance, and Odin wasted no time before walking inside, examining the place that would become their new home. The grand entranceway stretched on and ended with an even grander throne, behind which was what looked like some kind of magical elevator, more ancient that Samhain's but allowing access to each floor almost instantly. Turning to face his guildmates, Odin simply said, "Our new home. Be careful of the ancient machinations when exploring." He knew they would all move to explore the rooms at their own pace, but there was no way to know how the Wischtechians had kept the place clean and defended over the centuries. They would have to move with caution, at least until they gained true control of the tower.

"The pleasure is mine, master Morningstar," Vivi replied with a gentle bow, ignoring Zane's protests in favor of showing the proper respect to her new superior. Perhaps a bit of an odd turn for her, but she could tell just from looking at Odin that he was no slouch. Everything about his poise and posture spoke volumes to her. "Zane did not give me much to work with when describing you or your organization, which I imagine was by design. Still, I feel comforted by what I have seen so far. At the very least, I don't feel like he swindled me into signing over my soul to a cause I don't agree with." She cast Zane a quick glance, the slightest smirk on her lips. She really did find teasing him more entertaining the more she went about it. A form of comedy that might never lose its luster even.

As Odin moved on, she then turned her attention back to Zane in full. "I'm impressed that I even managed to sneak up on you. Were you that deep in thought? I know I'm not that stealthy. I've never managed to sneak up on anyone before in my life. Even the deaf can here me coming, or so I've been told. And the coats. Why? Black with red clouds. Does that mean something to you?" She shook her head. "It's as if half the things you say are things I'm never meant to understand, and the other half are things I can only understand half of." With her point made, she gave Zane a shrug before falling silent. Ever the stoic when things didn't need to be spoken aloud. Though, her gaze did occasionally fall on the other stranger in the group. He seemed like the capable sort, the type to get up and get things done rather than wait for the word of another. Someone proactive then. A very useful trait, and one she admired almost immediately even without knowing the man behind the actions. She intended to learn that later, provided there was some amount of time with which she could take the liberty.

But the doors were opening, and it would seem the time had come. Already standing, she made to follow Odin first and to garner some understanding of this strange tower. Greeted by a cavernous entryway, she felt like a tiny speck in comparison to the monument to grandiosity that she stood in. The tower was beyond massive, but this room seemed to just be an homage to that. With leave granted, however, she did intend to explore. She wandered off almost immediately, looking to find just what secrets lie in wait if only to sate her natural curiosity about the tower and its previous owners.

Erebus

Erebus had lingered at a manageable distance, unafraid to make it known he was going inside but rather didn't fancy speaking to other's in alliance just yet. Being a free spirit, this whole approach to his life set on by Zagan was almost antagonistic, but since he was in for the ride. Erebus assumed he'd just ride it out. He walked in the distance behind his guildmates, still fast and mute to his own thoughts, soon perhaps his mind would change. However, for impressions sakes, Erebus needed time to investigate his fellow Nightmares. Rather than fork over the entirety of his strength as a naivety.

Vivi Ramstein was here and Erebus remembered their fight, many moons back. Steel as well, Zane, a distant memory, and Odin-- the apparent lich and overseer of the new guild. Ko was still missing, and the woman, Venus was also missing. Quite the strange mix-up, Erebus wondered just how many agents this faction consisted of, and what purpose Zagan played in it's image overall.

"Change is, what change does I guess." Erebus guided his emotions as he walked into the building following the disappearance of the others inside.

Odin †

Odin stepped through the great doors, no longer paying much attention to his guildmates and followers as he ventured inside. He approached the throne, the seat of his new power. Eternal Nightmare would bring the rest of Fiore to its knees, and it was from this seat that Odin would orchestrate the entire thing. Everyone was here for their own reasons. Most had joined for the power that Zagan and Nightmare had offered them, while some had their own personal reasons. Odin was working with Zagan only as much as was necessary, as he desired the power much like the rest of his guild, but that was not the only reason he was here. He had a purpose, and he would bring his goddess back into this realm, even if it took him one thousand years. He was eternal, and he would bring HER back.

He sat on his throne, and looked out at the members of his guild as they walked around, exploring the initial floors of their new base of operations. Zane, Vivi and Steel, with Erebus skulking in the shadows, unknown to Odin who only saw the initial three. Their group had grown in numbers and in strength, but many had left or had been lost on the way. Marwyn, Ko, Caius to name but a few. Eternal Nightmare would always grow, but it hurt Odin to look back on those who were no longer with them. They weren't all deceased, but they were no longer with the group, in whatever capacity. They would not have access to the powers of Nightmare, and would fall beneath the group. If they weren't with the guild, then they stood in opposition, and Odin would take no prisoners on his conquest.

From Grimoire Heart to Midnight Cult to Fairy Tail and finally Eternal Nightmare, Odin's life had certainly been interesting. He was one of the few still alive who had participated in the terrorist attack on Crocus, where the former king had been deposed in favour of Arthurias. He had known Theseus, Icarus and Zade, and had aided in their plans while not truly knowing what he wanted. The disbandment of Grimoire Heart had brought Odin to his true purpose. He felt HER presence shortly after, being saved from his darkest moment and given the strength to push through and become the feared being he now was.

You could live your whole life doing everything right or at least doing everything you were told to do. Every day could be the same with little to no deviation and you could live in the simple bliss controlled by a few people. This sort of life was one that Genevieve had lived and she was content in living such a life. She didn’t care to think for herself or think about what the world around her had to offer outside of the oppressive bubble she found comfort in. This, however, would not last forever and soon that bubble would pop violently with the pricking of harsh reality shaking her to her core.  For Genevieve, it was like taking in a cold breath of air after living in a place that suffocated her for so long.  She should have been afraid of stepping forward but she didn’t get a chance, she didn’t even have a choice to grasp what came to her. With her eyes now clear she was confused and the only thing that could open her mind was the thing she was raised to stand against.

Being ripped from one reality and thrown into the truth of the world was often and mind-shattering experience but Genevieve did well in accepting it.  Her savior from it all? None other than a demon prince. Not knowing why she was chosen to be saved and not understanding why it was a demon prince who did the saving, Genevieve could only be thankful. It was thanks to this prince that she was still alive and not only was she alive but she was able to be free of the bubble that blinded her from the real world. She was like a child experiencing things for the very first time and it was wonderful. But life wasn’t that simple of course it wasn’t.

Even though she was free in her new life the experience she left behind to obtain left a lasting echo on her mental state. She never thought that something like that could happen to her, and how could she? How could she have possible prepared for her death at the hands of the people who she thought of as a family? The short answer was she couldn’t. She wouldn’t even try to be strong but she would follow the strong, hide behind those who would lead her, and try her best to be useful in some capacity. Maybe if she didn’t upset them they would let her live as well? She didn’t know and she didn’t have the will to fight, so she complied even if her saviors seemed rather nice. Unsure of what to do now even with the knowledge that she could do anything, her main goal was to please Asmodeus and Odin as best as she could. Her life was theirs and she didn’t mind at all. Still, nothing could prepare her for what life has in store and she was still struggling with her past in the worst ways..

The smell of burning flesh, plumes of black smoke, the cheers and jeers of faces twisted into monstrous forms, pain seared into her very being. Genevieve was once again back to the start of her death. She wouldn’t realize it until she awoke but when she closed her eyes and drifted off she would be placed right back at the worst time of her life. She wanted to forget but the scar was too fresh, too big to forget, and so it festered and manifested into nightmares. She would never escape in her current form, she would need to be much stronger until then she would be plagued by her past in the worst way.  Asmodeus could only watch as her vessel struggled but she wasn’t worried at all, she knew that one day those memories would be just that, a memory.

The nightmares were so realistic that often times she would awake to scream and this time would be no different as she tried to fight off a fire that wasn’t there. The golden-eyed beauty looked a mess and not in a bad way. Sweat caused her hair to stick to her forehead and her body glistened from it. Her panic breathing slowed when she could finally gather that she was in fact not on fire and it was just another nightmare. Exhausted from the ordeal she let herself fall back into the bed she was sleeping in until she realized that it was no longer night and she had probably slept the better part of the morning and the afternoon away. Quickly rising she remembered the letter on the floor of her room, right in front of the door. Currently, she was residing in an establishment that belonged to Odin so she could only assume that the letter came from him. Quickly scooping it up she gave it a quick read before cursing herself which caused Asmodeus to laugh. Wasting no more time she got in the shower and washed up quickly but very thoroughly. She used a light but nice smelling soap that caused her to smell like lemons and sunshine...if one could put a scent on sunshine. Once she was done she placed on a simple blue and gold dress and a pair of white heels before placing her hair in a neat bum with bangs framing her face. She was stunning but that could mostly be contributed to the powers that Asmodeus had as the demon prince of lust. Once they both agreed she looked presentable she grabbed a white hand fan and made her way out of her room and out of the establishment.

Her location wasn’t too far and soon she found herself staring at an architectural masterpiece. She couldn’t even form words to describe how hauntingly beautiful it was. She didn’t know how long she had been staring but at some point, Asmodeus had to snap the girl back to reality.  With her attention back she made her way into the dark building and was even more amazed at its interior.  Taking in the others who had made it before her she felt a wave of embarrassment fall over her at how late she had been. Quickly making her way further inside she spotted Odin sitting on a throne and glided over to him. Stopping a foot or two away from the being she gave a low Curtsy and stayed like that as she spoke

I’m sorry for being this late. I don’t have an excuse and even if I did I wouldn’t give one, this was my fault, forgive me it won’t happen again.

Even though the note didn’t specify a time she would have rather entered with him and not lagged behind literally everyone else here. She would get to introductions with the others at some point but until Odin gave his permission for her to rise she would stay in her position out of respect and awe of him. A part of him wished he was flesh, even for a day but she was sure that part of her was really Asmodeus working on her mind which she accepted would slowly be consumed by many more thoughts like that and eventually actions.

Odin †

It was impossible to tell, as the Lich's skull was permanently fixed into a cold dead grin, but Odin was indeed smiling inside when he witnessed the first true indication of his power and authority in Genevieve's late appearance. She entered the building, and immediately approached the throne upon which Odin sat, watching his guild members explore and enjoying the first impression that the Wischtechian Spire was making on them all, and perhaps also the impression they were making on the building. The building felt, either by magic or machine, alive and reacting to the newcomers who looked to claim it as their own.

But, from his throne looking down the steps at the formal greeting offered by his newest recruit, Odin felt the true power that came with being a guild master, and the authority that Zagan and SHE had awarded him. He had earned this power, and it was now his to command.

"Rise Genevieve, and let's explore our new home together. Introduce yourself to your fellow guildmates if you haven't yet, each person here is unique."

Standing from his throne, and expecting Genevieve to do the same,  the Lich stepped towards her and put one of his skeletal hands upon the top of her head. She was slightly shorter than Odin, who's natural Icebergian blood had always ensured he was rather tall even as a Lich, "This place is now ours, would you like to explore with me?"

If she followed, Odin would approach Zane if he was still in view. The entranceway was large, and so it was entirely possible Zane had disappeared from sight, but if he was still nearby he would be able to meet a fellow guild member, and even something more.

"Genevieve, this is Zane, and likewise. You both possess a unique trait, one which I myself once had, so I thought it prudent if all four of you meet each other sooner rather than later. Play nice."

The final statement was likely the most playful Odin's voice had ever been, but he knew demons were wily ones and it was always worth being cautious around one of them, let alone two at the same time. But they both brought exceptional power to the group, and allowed Odin to experiment with his own magic some more. If the Lich had stayed using the power of Lucifer, there was so much he would have never gained access to, and that simply would not work anymore. He was eternal and he was free to explore every facet of magic that interested him, whether it be demon soul takeover in the form of Genevieve and Zane; dragon slayer in the form of Steel; or the secret of undeath and releasing a long trapped and dormant being from whichever plane of existence was keeping her.

Vivi seemed rather surprised that she was able to sneak up on Zane. Zane wasn't all that surprised at it, honestly. He had begun getting a lot less aware of his surroundings throughout the last year, perhaps the fault of a certain someone... "I'm really deep in thought more often than you think, Vivi." Beelzebub quickly realized just what Zane meant by his comment. "I cannot help it if what I say is much more interesting and important than whatever babble you Earthlanders gossip about all the time!" Zane's eyebrow twitched in frustration, ready to go at it with Beelzebub in his mind. He managed to catch himself before he could however, realizing that bickering with a greedy fly wasn't nearly as important as speaking with his star recruit. "That's good, actually! You're the straight man - er, woman - so you shouldn't be understanding a lot of the wacky stuff I say anyways. Actually, wait..." Zane put his hand on his chin, tapping his foot slightly as he thought. "It's actually been a long time since I read that book on comedy theory, so I might be wrong."

Zane tried desperately to recall what exactly was written in said book, but his rather low attention span was soon interrupted by the opening of the tower's doors. Zane's eyes widened at the sight of its interior, surprisingly grand and elegant - even if very old and dusty. Nothing that a hired housekeeper couldn't fix. Perhaps Odin would allow Zane to hire one with the guild's funds. Either way, it was a question for another time. Zane stepped forward into the tower with a glimmer in his eyes, looking towards all the different furniture and decorations that adorned the main hall. Being with Beelzebub for over half a year now had clearly influenced his personality more than Zane was willing to admit, his feet taking him to different parts of the hall as he took note of all the possible sights in his mind. Beelzebub seemed extremely giddy as well, so much so that all Zane could hear in his own mind was the loud and excited buzzing of a fly. Normally it would be something that Zane would consider annoying, but fo- wait a second. It was still annoying. "Hey, stop that! I'll swat you if you keep that up!" Beelzebub only started buzzing louder in return, the fly's volume being enough to make Zane's head spin at this point. Zane and Beelzebub angrily got into an argument within their mind, one that wouldn't be heard by the rest of the group.

The argument continued until a magic word was said, one that could garner Zane's attention in just about any circumstance. "Zane" came from Odin's mouth, Zane quickly spinning around to face Odin, ending his argument with Beelzebub right then and there. The two had kind of forgotten what they were even arguing about in the first place. The sight that awaited the two was one they weren't expecting to see - Asmodeus and her host, two individuals (well, one individual technically) that Zane and Beelzebub had met in Samhain. Zane remained shocked for a moment as Odin explained and requested that the two play nice. Zane and Beelzebub in turn played not-nice. "It's you!" Zane noted, pointing out his finger towards Genevieve. "Of course it's her, idiot! You can't just lead off with an obvious statement!"

"Odin, I don't know if I can get along with this girl's demon." Looking towards Odin, Zane made sure to emphasize that it was the demon that he didn't get along with - he barely got to know the actual girl who carried the thing around. "She's my demon's ex, you see. Plus she's all like," Zane tried his best to imitate Asmodeus' voice "oh nooo you can't do it with my host even though I'm the demon of lust and you're the most handsome man in all of fiore." Zane turned his head back to Genevieve, looking at her with eyes that resembled a sibling tattling to their dad and trying to get on his good side first.

Hitomi Minamoto †
As she was ordered to do she rose from her curtsied position a smile on her face as she was happy she did not anger Odin for her tardiness. Instead, he was kind and gentle, even placing his hand on her head, something she eagerly leaned into. She was thirsty for his touch so this was like a shot of happiness going straight through her body.

" You are so adorable.. If you would just say the word we can have him wrapped around our little finger I promise you. But if you keep starving me out like this I'll make you suffer in the best way my little Lily."

Asmodeus's words and her voice caused a ripple that was pretty much the opposite of what Odin's touch did. Genevieve still didn't fully understand what Asmodeus's wanted from her but she was slowly starting to realize that the Lust Demon's appetite had to be sated in more ways than Genevieve was willing to give her. She hadn't ever been with a man before so the thought of giving away herself the way Asmodeus wanted was just out of the question for as long as she could fight it off. For now, she had just been ignoring the demon's goading only responding when she felt she had to or when Asmodeus eased up on the breaking down of her already weak psyche.

Of course. I'd love nothing more.
Genevieve spoke with a happy tone as she smiled at Odin and let him lead the way, her only a step behind him as they moved toward a male that looked very familiar, and felt even more familiar the closer she got. If it was one thing the pair could agree on it was that they didn't like what was coming up. She wanted to stop walking and turn away, perhaps to deal with Zane when Odin wasn't around, but it was clear that there was no getting out of this.  As soon as the two got within speaking distance and Odin got Zane's attention the shit show began. Almost immediately Zane noticed who she was and was already trying to make her and most importantly Asmodeus out to be the bad guy here.

Almost as soon as Zane finished practically mocking Asmodeus did the demon force, Genevieve, to give up her body. It was an easy and nearly flawless switch because Genevieve didn't even dare fight it and was happy to just be a temporary bystander in her body for what was to come. Like with every time she gave her body to Genevieve obvious changes were made in her appearance to announce the arrival of the demon and this time was no different. The usual display of flashy dark petals swirled around her. Thick, curled goat horns and bat wings appeared on her head, and every part of her body and just being in her presence turned up the desire factor to the max. She was lust in its truest and darkest form (mostly) and she wasn't afraid to show that.

Strutting up in Zane's personal space she smirked. It was one of obvious disgust. This was only the second time she had met Beelze's vessel and he was still giving her reasons not to like him. Already the second meeting and you continue to get on my damn nerves. How Bubby got stuck with you is beyond me. You make me sick. How could such a face belong to such trash? Your mouthy talk makes even me, the god damned demon prince of lust dryer than a desert with no oasis in sight. The words the slithered from her plump lips were drenched in venom as she stared him directly in the eyes. She didn't get along with the vessel but she still loved the demon in him so she knew she would have to put up with him. The only silver lining was that her host didn't hate the vessel, in fact, she thought of him charming apparently. Asmodeus would have to teach her the difference between charm and whatever it is that Zane does.

I wouldn't let you sleep with my vessel if you were the last man on earth. Your only shot with me is letting my Bubby take over you are a waste of skin. Folding her arms over her hefty chest she waited for Beelze to at least takeover and speak to her. She was practically done with Zane at this moment and she wasn't going to give Genevieve back her body until she got a chance to speak to Beelze. She had practically ignored the other woman in her presence, she didn't mean to but when it came to the man in front of her she was basically tuning most things out.

Vivi could, of course, hear the conversations fading into the background of her thoughts, but she paid them little attention. Her focus was entirely locked on the spire and its magnificent construction. Everything about it seemed to ooze power, it's was as if she could feel it emanating from the walls themselves. An impossibly ancient place built by an impossibly powerful people. She got the sense of the space immediately, she knew well what it was like to be in the presence of such strength. She had felt it before, of course, when she had first looked upon the skeletal visage of Odin himself. No soul had ever shone more brightly before her eyes, though she did still lack the proper context to truly understand just what it was that gave her that impression. Such curiosity always did get the better of her, she was certain it would lead to trouble for her at some point in the future. But she couldn't help herself. The more people she caught glimpses of out of the corner of her eye in this spire, the more she felt that she was in the presence of people who might genuinely understand her way of thinking. Well, there was also Zane, but she still wasn't sure if he totally understood her or had simply been feigning his comprehension during their last conversation. Not that it mattered, she would carry on as she always had.

She'd take her time getting acquainted with the spire itself, trying to learn the layout and understand the places she was meant to go. In a place like this, she wasn't entirely sure if she ought to avail herself of all it could offer her. Some secrets and treasures are best left for the future when she might have the strength to face them. Yet, as accustom as she was to being on her own, she found the prospect rather daunting. This tower was strange to her, and potentially filled with unknowns. Taking her time may not be enough.

She wheeled around after a bit of exploration, returning in short order to the entry hall. The conversation, and of course the berating that she couldn't follow even if she tried, still seemed lively. Poking her head back in, she looked around and found her attention drawn to a woman that she hadn't seen before. Another guild member, another name to remember. She stepped back into the room entirely and stood calmly to the side, watching the three who had gathered together, though her gaze mostly followed Odin.

Zane took note that the girl seemed genuinely accepting of the proposal, something he found a relief. Of course in this case the girl wasn't really the issue here. It seemed to Zane that Asmodeus and her host were opposites of him and Beelzebub to a degree: in his interactions with the two so far Zane had observed that Asmodeus seemed to be the one in charge while her host was along for the ride - a stark contrast to the clearly opposite nature of him and Beelzebub. This was all just speculation from Zane mind you: for all he knew this only really happened around Zane. Asmodeus did have her ex in the room whenever she was around Zane after all.

"She does have a point, it is kind of unfortunate that I got stuck with you." Beelzebub bluntly commented, Zane feeling a bit hurt from both fronts now. A frown struck his face, his eyebrow twitching in annoyance. "I think you and Beelzebub don't give me enough credit, personally. He's very luck to have found me." This was definitely a tall argument to be making, even for someone as delusional as Zane. "Who else would've shown him all those joyan comics that he loves so much? Who else would go to every taco restaurant in multiple cities of Fiore just so he could experience it all? Me!" Zane pointed at his chest, though it curved slightly downward to his stomach. Beelzebub's greedy habits had certainly taken a bit of a toll on his physique. It was clear that this trend of going to every restaurant in every city in Fiore was probably going to have to slow down.

Zane and Beelzebub weren't very good when it came to their switching of places. Their takeover form was a fusion of their personalities rather than Beelzebub simply taking over, so it was rare for Beelzebub to take much control. That being said there had been a few times in which Zane allowed Beelzebub's voice to project from his own, the words coming out of his mouth comparable to someone doing a very good impression of Beelzebub. Beelzebub didn't bother asking this time, but Zane was willing to let his demon do as he wanted for the time being, given as how he was near his ex and everything. "I won't have you insulting my vessel, Asmodeus! Is he stupid? Yes." Zane's voice came from his own mouth for a moment. "Hey, watch it." Beelzebub soon retook control, seemingly paying no mind to Zane's warnings. "Is he putting on too much weight recently? Yes. Would I ever trust him with your vessel if I was you? No. Of course not. This man would probably wipe out his own race if his gene pool were somehow passed down to future generations. BUT..." Zane rolled his eyes, his facial expression seemingly complete separate from his demon's commands. "He's learning. Just the other month I saw him demand more candy than an old man gave him in Samhain. You could never understand how proud of him I was, Asmodeus." Beelzebub spoke as if he was some sort of parent to Zane, much to the blonde haired man's annoyance. "And as far as I'm concerned you will quite possibly never know that feeling, given how overbearingly protective you are of your own host."

Vivi couldn't follow a word of what was being said, and she wasn't sure she wanted to in the first place. As far as she could tell, it seemed like a relatively pointless dispute. From the way words were being thrown around, she might even consider it something of an argument between an old married couple. They almost seemed to be bickering over whose prized dog was better at the show. While the implication was funny to her, mostly because it seemed like Zane was insulting himself with some very choice verbiage, she didn't really understand why the argument was taking place in the first place. It really did just sound nonsensical, especially in the face of, well, everything else. Here they were in the heart of what could only be called a architectural marvel of exceedingly impressive proportions and instead of taking the time to truly get to know what she believed would be their new home they seemed far more content to just be at one another's throats for reasons beyond reasonable understanding. Not that she intended to break them up, of course. She had no desire to come between two frustrated individuals, especially when doing so would clearly be out of her league. From what little she could understand of their argument, these two did not seem like people she desired to be on the wrong side of. Zane mostly owing to the fact that she found him rather pleasant company in his own way, and this stranger because she didn't really believe that anyone in this group was weaker or on par with her so it felt better not to antagonize anyone. She didn't feel there was any point to putting herself in danger for so little reward.

Instead, she took careful stock of the overall situation on her own. A not so easy task given how little she was truly aware of. Much of this situation made her feel like something of an outsider being cast into a strange new world well beyond their previous normal. She wasn't opposed to such a development, but it did make for strange experiences nonetheless. None so strange that they might encourage her to take an early absence from these people she barely understood, but strange all the same. She was used to strange to a certain degree, but just looking at the tower and the people she was meant to be sharing it with from then on was quite literally a whole new level of strangeness that she had never encountered before.

She took her time wandering around the great hall, stealing glimpses around the almost chasm-like entrance to this labyrinth like tower. It was impressive by her view, practically meant to contain beings far larger than herself. That thought helped her to crack a smile as she realized the irony in expecting others to be larger than her given her tendency to be the largest woman in the room. But as vast as the hall was, and its connected hallways, she couldn't quite fathom what it was all meant for. Clearly whatever forces and factions had constructed this place had meant it to be some kind of bastion of power. The mere imposing facade of its black spire from the outside would surely have made any who came to assault its doors think twice about crossing the former owners. But who had they been? What had they needed such a fortress for? It didn't seem like something constructed for show, there had to be a purpose to all of this effort.

"Your secrets must go quite deep," She muttered as she ran her hand against one of the many columns lining the hall. "But I wonder, where did your masters go? Were they defeated? Or did they simply try to wield a power they were unfit to hold?" She shook her head. Soon she felt she was start sounding crazy if she continued to express her thoughts out loud. People might think she was actually talking to the building. Then again, maybe that was yet another secret to this place. Was it perhaps alive? She didn't know, but she was certainly curious enough, and maybe hopeful enough, to try and find out.

Her thoughts about the previous owners of the spire still lingered even as she stepped away. Where had they gone? With such an impressive fortress to their name, surely they could have withstood an assault. So perhaps their disappearance could be found in the same reason that they had constructed the tower in the first place. She did very much wish to know if only to prevent herself from making the same mistakes that those who came before made for themselves. To her, the spire was practically begging her to come explore its depths in search of knowledge and potential power. That siren call really did latch onto her, and she felt almost compelled to seek out new answers to questions she might have never thought of before. Maybe even to find questions she couldn't have fathomed before. Either way, she wanted to get a better look at all the tower had to offer. With that in mind, she decided to really have a look around just a bit deeper, preferably with some company.
