Kazimir Seiryu
It wasn't long before Kaz found himself in the midst of danger yet again. His first mission had been to renew his knowledge of the area and this next would be a far cry from the light-hearted cleaning of the other.

Upon taking the request the wind mage was told that another member of Fairy Tail would also be joining him. He rose his brow upon hearing the name of the member. Someone that had joined after he left but a name he recognized. With a smile, he accepted the request but kept his identity hidden from the man at least for now. All that was known was that he was a Fairy Tail mage.

"So what's the assignment?"Kaz asked.

"There is a major crime lord heading an operation in town. We recently received word that he'll be meeting with some other major players coming into town with a shipment of some kind. Things are getting out of hand and we think they are planning something big this time. More narcotics have hit the streets and a strange amount of homeless has gone missing."

"Alright I'll look into it. Do you have any idea of where this will all be going down at?" The wind mage asked with his hood still pulled up over his head.

"Meet me at the Red Lotus tonight. There is an ally behind it. I'll let the other one know as well. Thanks"

That Night

Kazimir soundlessly moved across the buildings until he reached the crimson roof of the red lotus. Lanterns lit up the streets but the ally behind the building was a semi-lit dark patch among a city of lights.

The wind mage landed in the ally with his hood still pulled up. Long sleeves came down to his hands and an old staff was at his side.

The quest giver was already waiting at the other end. His foot tapped the ground and his eyes darted over his shoulders. As soon as he saw the Fairy Tail mages (If Jolyne arrives) he would wave them over with a look of relief.

The man took one step forward followed by a small pop in the air. Scarlet sprayed from his body as a bullet tore through him. The man's body slunk to his knees with empty eyes and he toppled over.

Kaz reached out his hand ready to rush to the man's aid but it was already too late.

Jolyne Atreides

Ohoho finally a mission far surpassing her abilities to challenge herself and grow from, the undead Lich was most delighted at the prospect though she did not have the information on whom exactly her partner would be on this mission. If her luck continued with such endeavors however she had no doubt they would be extremely capable and would probably surpass her actions. Not that she minded such a thing, Jolyne Atreides was far more interested in actual training than fame. Fame seemed to be something that just came along with the training, which really meant that striving for one was striving for both. Despite being quasi-immortal, she did not particularly enjoy wasting too much time.

Receiving her marching orders the Plant Mage would ponder on whom exactly the crime lord was and why he was flooding the streets with narcotics and then assumedly killing or kidnapping the homeless addicts he morphed. It was rather puzzling to her but as she was told where to go and when to be there she did not worry about solving the exact mysteries behind it yet. The Red Lotus did sound like a rather interesting meeting place for such a thing however and the Lich was uncertain exactly how to feel about that fact, despite that she acquiesced to it as she would have no say in the matter.

As she arrived her face would twist into a bit of confusion and then that of delight, she did not expect the Guild Master himself to be here but she would be damned if she was not going to wave back to him after he gave the greeting. Though this joy was short lived as a shot rang out, "Oh of course!" Jolyne Atreides did not even have to look to know their info broker had just been killed. Instead of rushing to the man's aid as Kazimir did, the Lich would scan the area for the shooter.

"Oi Boss, the shooter is on top of that building shoot up to the roof while I block him from escaping on the ground if you may?" Glancing back with concern the Lich would point her claw at a building that was a couple blocks away from them where a rather large figure could be seen scrambling across the rooftops already. Sprinting after the man on foot Jolyne started to plan out how to use her vines to drag the man down if needed when she got closer to him.

The informant collapsed to the ground with blood seeping out around his body. Jolyne called out to Kaz with the whereabouts of the murderer. Already things were going off the rails. His skin burned with irritation and wind swirled around his feet.

"Thanks. And stay alert. They probably already know about us if they knew about the meeting," he replied and quickly shot up to the top of the roof clearing it in two strides on the wind. Kaz's magic was known for flight, but it was the speed of his movements that made it so useful. In mere seconds he was sailing over the burly man.

"Got ya," the thug sneered. And tumbled toward the far edge of the roof. They were across from the massive Red Lotus building. Emergency roof exists burst open with a squad of men pouring out, eight in total. The burly man leaped from the roof toward the ally below.

On the ground level, bullets shattered the ground in front of Jo. Snipers aimed from the stairwells of fire exits on the sides of buildings. A gang shambled out of dumpsters and trash heaps with blades pointed at the lich.

The burly man landed on his feet and gazed back at her. "take em down. Bosses orders. You'll be happy to know, you're our first big game. Let the night of terrors begin," he howled as two cars rolled in behind him. The first one he jumped into the back seat. The next roared it's engine and rushed toward Jolyne.

Kaz flung his arm forward to send a series of wind blades colliding with the pepper of bullets aimed at him. Lead showered the thugs and Kaz crashed down with the fury of the storm between them sending gales of wind the flung them from the rooftops.

On the street, the vehicle that carried the burly man, took off, smashing into buildings and crates as it plowed through the ally and into the streets. Kaz dashed to the edge of the building to check on Jo.

Kaz naturally shot up into the sky and after the man much faster than the Lich could but, that was exactly when the gang sprung their trap on him. The Guild Master's words had ended up ringing true, as true as the bullets that sprayed at her feet cracking out in a sharp staccato upon the pavement. Now the burly man that they had been chasing would drop down to the street not followed by her partner on this mission who no doubt had their hands full up above. Delivering his speech Jolyne was far more alarmed by the sound of engines coming from two vehicles, one of which was coming up behind the man who spoke of 'the boss' orders'. This meant the other must be coming up from behind herself.

Well it was quite the predicament she found herself in now, much as she wanted to throw her cleaver at the man she decided to do a one hundred and sixty degree pivot and stepped towards the car while bringing her arm around like a whip and flinging the blade straight at the windshield. In a split second after which she leapt up and twisted around again so her back would hit the center of the windshield and cushion her blow as she fell through the thing which was already broken by her throw from before. The Lich had absorbed the little kinetic impact there was on her armor which was more resilient than glass and she did not have to worry about her bones being cut by the material. The driver on the other hand did have to worry about such things, not to mention the cleaver which was sunk into her shoulder. Spying the commotion Kaz caused upon the rooftops Jolyne Atreides would shout, "I'll handle this one and catch up with you!"

As the words rung out she would grab the wheel and jerk it causing the car to flip thanks to the ramp a broken food cart provided, bringing the vehicle to a halt and flinging the driver of the vehicle out of the car. The seat belt was a most wonderous invention and it kept the Lich who had used the time the shards of glass had bought her to fasten her own seatbelt before cutting the drivers with a shard on her hip. While the impact and the air bag both left her staggered for a bit she would soon walk it off and attempt to follow her Guild Leader after the rest of the gang unless she was shot at some more. In which case she would have to think of a way around that obstacle.

Kaz shook his head, as he saw the reckless abandon that Jolyne had. Crashing through a windshield and flipping a vehicle, but he'd come to expect nothing less from a Fairy Tail mage. "Alright I'll meet you further up."

The other thugs on the ground scattered as the car crashed. The coast was clear for the moment and Kaz dashed off the roof and after the car. The car was still bouncing recklessly from side to side. The mage struggled to keep up speed. The direct path of the rooftops helped, but if the car got to a straight away, it would be tough.

The car then drifted out into the street knocking its tail end into a cart. Civilians screamed as the car rushed out into the streets. The burly man rose half his body out of the window. "Hit 'em. Hit em all!" he screamed as the driver then veered towards the sidewalks and at the people.

"What the hell," Kaz cursed and dashed faster. He thrust his hands forward sending out a blade of wind. With a whip of his hand he curved the blade and slashed it into the rubbery tires.

"Got me, huh," the burly man screamed with glee as the car swerved out of control and toppled over. The crowd looked on with awe and panic. Their feet shifting and necks craning to see all while staying as far back as they could. Kaz descended on the vehicle. The burly man was just crawling out of. He dusted himself off and shot the driver in the head. "No need for you anymore."

Kaz flew down to the man. His eyes revealed the deep vampiric nature he now harbored. A blast of wind pinned the man to the car. "You'll tell me who you're working for, and what's going on here."

The burly man smiled. "I'm not the only one to worry about. You know what's fascinating about you mages. It's always strong enemies with you lot. Monsters to hunt down. Demons to fight. But when was the last time. You all had to deal with an army knocking at your door."

A scream came from the crowd of people. A group of humans and demi-humans in rags and tattered cloth emerged, armed with knives. They staggered forward, swaying and limping but not any slower. A civilian fell to the ground, a knife in her back.

More screams came from across the street and down beyond, all mild until...an explosion sent flames flickering into the air a few blocks down from a local restaurant.

"The missing Homeless..." Kaz muttered.

Jolyne Atreides

Running as fast as she could to catch up to conserve her mana Jolyne Atreides would come up to quite a horrid sight. Having missed most of the monologue she would notice Kazimir holding up the man they were chasing yes, but she would also see the chaos among the civilians in the crowded place. All the Lich had head was her superior mention the homeless and she soon came to the conclusion that this was why they were drugged and abducted. It had been a set up from the start, always had been but the Plant Mage felt a bit off about killing junkies who got addicted on some kind of mind control drug.

Unsheathing her cleaver from her hip with one hand the other hand of Jolyne's would raise into the sky as she lit up with the green glow of spell circles. Pointing it downward she would trap one of the deranged demi-humans who was attempting to skewer a lady, the vines that grew from underneath him would clamp down giving him less strength in the processes. The Lich would then flip the cleaver to the blunt end and knock him out by a blow to the back of the head, raising the cleaver above her head and activating a buff before focusing on a group near a building who had cornered another civilian. There was simply too many of them, but the Paladin was never one to give up no matter how dire things may get. After snapping her fingers strands of plants would shoot out of her palm which was pointed at the wall behind the group of eight chaos causers. This pulled Jolyne towards them allowing her to get two quick blows in before she arrived at the wall and the plant withered away causing her to slide slowly down the wall. Taking advantage of her position she would kick off and slash out with the blunt end of her cleaver yet again knocking one of the druggies in the chest. The other five formed a semi-circle around her as god only knew how many other's were causing mayhem throughout. It was time to step it up a notch.

Punching her left palm with her right hand careful not to cut herself on her own cleaver, the Lich would activate a glowing purple thing above her head which split into four groups directed by her fingers, each glowing orb stuck onto a man on their chest where it would continue using their health to fuel the growth of the mold upon their bodies were they were hit. Rushing towards the last one of the group Jolyne would duck their wild swing while springing back up after and hitting them in the chin with the blunt end of her weapon causing all five to be knocked out nigh simultaneously.

While the fight against that group had went well, she was beginning to tire and worried about the other junkies attacking in the crowded streets as she set off to find another cell of them.

Effect: Upon raising her hands like she was raising the roof, vines will spring up from a surface within range and bind around an opponents feet, which is the opponent is moving and accurately caught could trip them up or bind them if they are not moving. These vines are representative of the features of a D rank vine. Jolyne then points at the location the spell will be done at.

Effect: After snapping her fingers or clicking her heels together a seal will appear somewhere on Jolyne where a string-like plant will begin to grow and latch onto something in range and then pulling Jolyne with it by retracting, this allows her to move when she can not use her legs or can allow her to swing across gaps. It will go out in a straight line from where it appears on Jolyne so if her left hip is pointing at a tree it will pull her towards said tree, but naturally it will not slam her into it and it retracts to pull the person with. It has the same properties(durability) as any C rank nature spell. The user will move at a lunge speed under this spell but it will naturally not count towards their endurance as they are not themselves lunging.

Effect: Purple Haze is a spell that Jolyne has a true distaste for and rarely utilizes as they are tiny purple glowing spores that when inside the target begin to replicate at an exponential rate dealing a B rank of damage to the foe. The spores need only direct contact with something to cause internal damage. These spores form in a cloud that is a meter cubed and forms above Jolyne's head after she punches her left palm with her right hand and twists it. The green seal will appear behind the initial cloud's location. Jolyne can then direct the spores by pointing at the target with one of her limbs. The spores stay in a big group except when split apart into groups when they will become malleable in shape but retain a quarter of the initial size, they will die upon contact with a defensive spell(of sufficient rank) or if filtered by a device like a gas mask(of sufficient rank). If the defensive measure is higher it will damage but not pass through, if equal it will be destroyed and if less the armor will only reduce the number of spores and thus damage the spell does. The form can split apart the groups of spores(and thus damage) and reform them if Jolyne uses her thumb to direct one and forefinger to direct the other, she can do this up to four times reducing each spore cloud to D rank damage.

Kazimir sent a blast of wind erupting in the burly man's face. The man slunk down in front of the car, out cold for now, but he had no time to stay with him as the city was in danger. The wind mage dashed through the streets again. His magic was too destructive to be nice about things, so he resorted to whacking the homeless with his staff, using his dashing momentum as extra leverage. The town was beginning to get flooded with small cells of drug out homeless people, but Kaz headed straight for the fire. He tried to keep an eye out for Jo but had yet to run into her. The smell of blood was saturating his senses but he blocked it out.

Finally, the wind mage stood next to the burning building. Holding out his hands, he created a tornado of wind that sucked the fire up and out. People still staggered out injured from the attack. The streets ran wild with more attacks. But even more than that, there was one building in the heart of it all that remained untouched. The Red Lotus.

Kaz jumped to a rooftop and looked back at the initial building. All had been to pull them away from it. The Building now had a huge spectral glowing red lotus on top of it, pulsing with magical energy. The target was clear.

The wind mage dashed forward and created a tornado in the sky to get Jolyne's attention. If she saw it she'd see the wind mage land on the street in front of the building. Its front doors were closes and semi-translucent chains wrapped around it. There were no guards out front and the windows were shut tight. All except for one on the ground floor that looked in at a small dinner party as if nothing was going on outside.

He suddenly stepped to the side as a thin red line on the ground glowed by his foot and ran up to the building. He waited for Jolyne to join him and then would say, "So it looks like this is where the real party is. We can't keep rushing around the city if this is the real fight. maybe we can end it here?"

As if the forces heard him say that, a mass of homeless people stammered out into the street. Only this time they were intermixed with men that looked like they had more clarity of mind and skilled blades at their sides. Snipers peaked their heads over the top of the roof of the red lotus.

Jolyne Atreides

Having mucked her way through the crowds Jolyne would notice her partner on this mission put out the flames of a burning building, this was quickly getting out of control. Luckily for her though it seemed as though Kazimir had found the source of what was causing people to be this way. It was not entirely chemical and some foul magic was being harnessed as presented by a glowing red flowing on top of the building they had began at. Arriving closer to the building after making her way through the throng of humanity, fleeing civilians and homeless alike Jolyne would respond. "So that's why they called it that, thought maybe it was like a flower décor themed restaurant for a romance gimmick. You get inside somehow I'll try to distract and cover you, I can't output much of a heal but from what I heard you can take a hit so I don't mind wasting my mana on spam."

The Lich would finish her works by spinning around and slashing the blunt end of her cleaver into a junkie who crashed into the other whom had both gotten to close for her liking before she would refocus on the building as shots were being prepared by snipers above. Well that with these new bladed enemies might be a bit of a problem, "On second though I don't think I can cover you from the snipers if these-" with a sudden dash from an armored man with a crimson blade Jolyne Atreides was forced to cut her words short and duck a slash that was aimed at her neck.

Stepping backwards with her rear positioned leg she bounced back into place under the blade and swinging the sharp end of her cleaver towards a gap of armor in the man's side. This allowed the skeleton to get under the blade of the man and also inside of his effective cutting range without being in a stabbing position with his arm that far out. This allowed the woman to cut into her foe with a deep enough gash to dissuade him but not kill him unless nobody stopped the bleeding after he passed out from it if he continued to move about instead of holding his wound shut. If she didn't die from his comrades she would make a note to heal the man but she could not play around after witnessing a maneuver like that. Though she did not have much time to think on this as two more armored men were now in her face and forcing her backwards with their blood colored blades each just a bit faster than her, though neither probably as durable.

A shot rang out, and Jolyne felt as though someone kicked her in the spine as her armor absorbed the blow, hopefully Kazimir was inside and taking care of the main issue. The Lich could take a surprising level of a beating after all, and she hadn't even blown through her surprise inside the plate armor she wore.

"I wish it was just a gimmick. Buildings are my specialty, he said and stepped forward. Thanks for being here Jo, don't worry, I'm sure your heal will be more than appreciated. let's show them what Fairy Tail can do," he dashed off closer to the building. Jolyne rushed out to meet her own threat and called out that she was going to be distracted. As Kaz got closer to the building the whole thing shifted and the supports left the ground. It grew like a menacing flower sapping energy from the chaos around it.

A man appeared within the bloom of the red lotus atop the building. His hand brushed against the side, "The true red lotus. The harbinger of chaos canon," He pointed his hand down and the magical petals glowed and concentrated red pulsing energy into the center. A wave of arcane energy burst forth and showered the ground.

Kaz planted his feet firm and a large magic circle sprang to life around his feet. He mumbled a phrase he hadn't for a long time and the sky turned dark. Red bolts of energy crashed down around him and everyone else in the area including his own men. Shards of arcane energy tore into Kaz's sides and legs and threatened Jolyne.

A tiger appeared behind Kaz as he roared to the sky. A dozen tornadoes crashed down upon the building. chunks collapsed inward on itself. The denizens within were nothing more than mages and marionettes in support of the red lotus. The clash of wind collided with the magical essence of the red lotus and energy scattered in all directions. Kaz focuses his magic on the chaos canon with one tornado after the next, blocking it's beams from crashing down as much as he could while dealing some damage to it.

The building began to topple and snippers took shots at Kaz, dropping him to one knee as his concentration stayed focused on the giant canon.

"Jolyne. You have to be the one to take that guy out. I'll hold off the canon and destroy but we have to stop the man behind it!" Kaz called out to his guildmate.

The red lotus leader was holding his balance on the rooftop, but as the structure began to collapse he readied himself to drop below.

Jolyne Atreides

Upon the red sparks emanating from Kaz who had begun some kind of spell, Jolyne Atreides cut her combat short and rushed out of the range. Her enemies however, tried dashing forward towards the other mage before noticing the tornados forming and deciding to head after the Lich. Expecting this, the Nature Caster had positioned herself to catch them off guard and subdue them quickly. After this she would turn back towards her partner in this mission, his words ringing out as she did so. Running past then junkies, the Lich felt her endurance strain against the task presented before her but she did not flinch in the slightest.

Jumping up as her target fell the Mage would swing once again and catch him square in the side of the head with the blunt side of her cleaver while still feeling it's boosting magic flowing through her. Not only was the blow itself rather damaging but it completely borked the boss' landing who fell and broke his leg due to coming down at a wrong angle. Crashing into the side of the building, Jolyne shook herself off before shouting, "Hey, I think he's not going anywhere for a while!" Hands on her knees the skeleton wondered why she was winded though she lacked the organs to be so. While she could have pushed herself even harder the magic seemed to start to waver as the boss slipped into sweet unconsciousness.

"Whew, well THAT was a mission, oh lord above I hope so many people don't get endangered next time but this kind of a fight is what I signed up for" Jolyne would say to Kazimir if he was not busy still dealing with their mutual friend, the sniper. Dismissing her active spells the woman from Fairy Tale would stand up straight and wait if the Guild Master spoke, if not she would, "Next time we meet though, I need to buy you a drink or something for taking down that false flower."

The chaos canon crumbled and Kaz sat on the ground. Some wounds and bullets peppered into his armor. He took in a deep breath as the wind settled around him. "Nice job," he laughed and dusted himself off. He looked at the leader that was now nothing more than a common thug lying unconscious.

He could only smile at the eagerness that Jolyne showed. She was a great addition to the guild and far different in power than the person he had met so many years ago. "Good to hear it because this land has no shortage of madness to deal with. You've gotten a lot stronger since the demonic rifts you know." The idea reminded him of the good old times. Things were simple when he was just a page.

"Yeah, my magic isn't very well suited for city combat. made things tricky as a knight," He looked back at the ruins and the mass of knocked out homeless junkies Jo had run through. "Next time we meet? Now's as good as time as any. Plus I need to get to know my guildmates better." He pointed down the way at a local pub. The rune knights were finally on the scene and cleaning up the mess. Seeing the guild symbols of Fairy Tail, they had a good idea of what to piece together. If Jo followed, Kaz would enter a small pub and buy her a drink. With a toast, he would proclaim a job well done, but would only pretend to drink.
