A luminous light had been shining throughout the town of Oak. The normally dreary town was starting to look a bit more chipper than normal as the sun spread its warmth and light around town. Relaxing comfortably in a forlorn tree near the outskirts of Oak town, Shichiro simply snoozed the morning away though it was almost noon. He didn't have any assignments for himself to do today as he was taking a break from all the work and guild activities. Honestly, he was quite tired of hunting monsters who were barely sentient enough to fight back or escort some trivial people such as trade merchants to nobles. They were all the same to him and he wanted to get away from all that. For now, he figured a vacation away from the trivial tasks would do him much good and he could just reside in Oak town for the time being. As he slept, Shichiro dreamed of taking on some of the most powerful Adventures and Wizards he could find and defeating them in combat. The battles in his dreams felt so real, he couldn't differentiate whether he was asleep or awake anymore, it was absolutely euphoric. Unfortunately however, as he was about to deal the decisive blow, he could hear the hollering and screaming of a group of people nearby. Closing his eyelids tighter, he tried to drown out the noise but alas, he had failed horribly waking it quite grumpy and unsatisfied he didn't get to see the conclusion of his own fantasy. Yawning whilst placing his right hand over his mouth a bit to prevent pests from flying in, Shichiro looked around with his eyes only in order to see if he could spot the source of the commotion. Hopefully, it would be something entertaining but he wasn't expecting too much.

Now that he was fully awakened from his slumber, Shichiro began to extend both of his upper arms, stretching his upper body before sliding down off the tree, catching a sturdy branch to break his fall. In hindsight, he should have probably stayed up there where he could have gotten more of a bigger vantage point in order to spot whoever it was screaming their heads off. It was a small, trivial matter though as he could also smell a distinct smell of iron and steel coming from the direction where the path into oak city was. Walking back towards it, Shichiro could see a peculiar band of people all clad in the same outfit. It was obviously a faction of some kind but he wasn't sure what yet. "Join now! Join now! First couple of hundred people will get exclusive benefits and training if they sign up right now! Keep the peace, commissioned and fully back by the royal and noble families, join the grand re-opening of the Rune Knights!" The rune knights, they said. Shichiro remembers hear about that faction a very long time ago but he thought the were just over glorified authority that really didn't do anything and had the other light guilds shoulder the burden. Shichiro was tempted to just ignore them, fully prepared to move on with his day when suddenly, one of the Knights had seemed to notice Shichiro in the distance. "You there! What say you join the Rune Knights. You don't look much like a mage but you seem to know your way around battle, what do you say," a gruff, strong female said as she began to approach Shichiro. He could help but feel strangely on guard at the fact that she knew he was nearby, although he wasn't exactly hiding.

Shaking off his anxiety, Shichiro decided to respond to this female knight. "Oh, you guys again. Can't say I'm really interested in joining your order. It feels more like being in a glorified light guild but with more pompous attitude because of your affiliation with Nobles and the Royals. I think I'll pass on that on. I bet its the same as running errands for any other guild and you don't even go out to catch real criminals. Probably the reason why it failed the first time around but I won't knock your hustle. Good luck," Shichiro said as he placed his hands into his pockets and began to start walking off. After he took a few steps, the female knight had roared with laughter at Shichiro's jest, or so she took it. Shichiro raised an eyebrow, halting, before turning to the woman and speaking with her once more. "What, did I say something funny,” he asked, a bit irritated. The female knight continued to laugh, settling down to respond to Shichiro, "No, no. It's the same response almost anywhere we go.  We've been working to reform the Ruine Knights after order failed in secret. We will now be taking things seriously and hunting down even the toughest of criminals and thugs that we can find. We even get paid more than the average bounty hunters and mercenaries for doing so. You look like you could go a couple of rounds. You should join us and apply as a lieutenant. I've got a good eye for these sorts of things you know. You say you're tired of running errands well, join Rune Knights and hunt a few bad guys here and there. Of course, you can always do what you call menial tasks for some cash on the side but I promise you it'll be worth it," the woman said.

Listening to the woman's explanation, she was well aware of the fact the knights were a bit of a laughing stock way back then and probably right this moment. Even though there was little claim to these words, Shichiro thought to himself a change of pace might be nice. He wasn't exactly loyal to his current guild nor did he have anybody he could call his friends. He might as well make a fresh start for himself by joining the knights. If he does so now, he could probably secure a spot that would land him a pretty comfortable position as he attempted to climb his way up. Even if he didn't get a high position in the knights like he wanted to, he might be able to at least fulfill his urge of bounty hunting instead of doing menial tasks and hunting creatures that could barely fight back. Giving it some more thought, Shichiro eventually shrugged and relented. He told the buff woman he would consider joining which made her quite ecstatic. Putting her arm around Shichiro's shoulder, he could feel her strength was no joke whatsoever. Maybe if they had strong people like her, they might have changed for the better indeed. He was taken back and introduced to the other troupe and some newbies that had been recruited. After traveling around with the troupe for most of the day, night had fallen and it was time to make newbies swear their loyalty and service to the Knights. One by one, newbies had stepped up to read off an expensive looking scroll where the Rune Knight oath lies. Shichiro found it was a little corny but I guess they had to be 'official' and what not. Finally it was his turn to step up in front of the scroll, reciting the oath. From then on, he was an official Rune Knight.
