Odin †

Odin hadn't been to the garden of rest yet: he usually avoided graveyards as it brought back things from his past that he had chosen to forget. Things like his old power, the link to Lucifer that he had shared for most of his life before discarding it. Many times after becoming a Lich, he had sat up at night wondering if he made the right choice. He had discarded not only his humanity, but the source of his power. He had said no to a demon prince, was that a wise decision? He could never truly know, but there were many ancient texts which answered his question from him.

Thinking of Lucifer brought Odin to think about a topic he hadn't approached for some time: his parents. They were both dead now, sacrifices to the cult of Lucifer he had been born into, even if his father had been killed by Odin himself during a moment of no control. If they saw him now, what would they think? No doubt they'd despise his choices, about squandering the gifts they had given their lives to give him, choosing instead to follow his own path. Maybe he had been wrong, but there would never be a way to know.

This graveyard wasn't like the others. It wasn't sad, decrepit or abandoned. There were many people, creatures of all kinds visiting their relatives. The other interesting fact was that their relatives were there with them, the powerful magic of Samhain keeping them all alive and allowing them to return each evening to spend time with their families. It seemed, out of everyone, only Odin was alone.

Her eyes were half-closed as she walked towards the garden of beauty. It was silent, orbs of the dead floated the area, flowers around the area, and the stone of each dead person stood. Her purple hair flowed behind her as she let it down. Her devil horns shined from each orb as the rustic charcoal color became more silver with each light. Her dress was a silver-black and white. It was made out of a shiny fabric as it snugged against every curve. It went down to her ankle and had a right thigh-cut opening. For shoes, she just wore traditional bamboo sandals.

She felt like she will not find anyone she knew here. Family? She had no clue who they were. Ana's parents were from a different country so there was no way they will be here. Who was left for her to really see that could be here? She was alone in the world with no family, no loved one, and her heart felt like all the friends she felt like were her friends, were not. Perhaps, it was her heart betraying her, but her mentality was speaking otherwise. After the fact that she has decided that there was no love on this planet for her, she became slowly more distant anyway.

She gazed at everyone around her as they were visiting the graves of their family. Mainly everyone had their loved ones with them to visit as well. It seemed that way till she noticed someone alone. Were they meeting someone or perhaps were they just as alone as they were? Her eyes gazed away and arms crossed against her bosoms. Softly she sighed as she approached the undead person. 'Could it be?' She wondered but held an unexpressed face. Her brown-golden and blue eyes gazed at him as soon as she stood beside. "Would you like some company? I have no one here to visit anyways." She questioned. She was anxious, nervous even, but she had to hold a numb expressionless face.

Odin †

The graveyard was filling up, everyone meeting whoever they were here to meet. Odin thought that he would be the only person there that wouldn't actually see anyone. He was the undead, immortal being that could not rest. His life had ended one day and, since then, he had made decisions that caused him to be alone. He had pushed people away, devoting himself wholly to his goal and his own power. It had worked well for the Lich, overall. He was stronger now that he had ever been, able to stop any damage from ever affecting him while simultaneously copying all of the spells he bore witness to. He could take the powers of anyone and use them against them, while rendering their abilities completely useless before him.

A voice broke through the silence of his thoughts, one the Lich couldn't help but recognise. He supposed that, even with his new appearance, he was still a Lich and there weren't many of them around, and Arisa greeted him, asking if he'd like any company, anyone to spend time with. Odin was taken aback by that, not quite sure how to answer or how to proceed. Her appearance hadn't changed at all, even if she was wearing some demon horns, and yet Odin was so different from who had been before. He was older, he had lived an entire life time alone. One hundred years passing by in a moment, but living through it unable to do anything. Perhaps, having aged beyond human things like love, Odin would be able to converse once more with his once close friend. Perhaps...

"Hello Arisa. There is no one here for me either, but I'll accept the offer of company. How have you been?"

Her eyes cornered and she honestly did not know who it was till the Lich spoke. Her facial expression kept calm as she honestly felt filled with despair anyway. It did not matter anymore who he was. Her feelings were never reciprocated. By no one. She gave up on it, on everyone. What mattered now was the beauty of death and this area that they stood in. "Hm, I'm quite alright. Experiencing a lot and realizing some other things." She chuckled darkly as her eyes squinted and gazed into the distance. She licked her lips as she thought of death.

"Every time I look at the grave, see souls of the dead... it makes me wonder somethings." Her head doesn't turn yet her eyes cornered to gaze at him. "Rambling. Sorry, been a while." She spoke in her breathy cold tone while giving a small assured smile of friendship. "Truly, even though I'm not, I feel dead. No matter how much I fake the opposite." Her eyes looked at families and loved ones that were together. "And you, Odin? How are you faring now? Any closer to your goal?" She did not know truly what his goal was, but she was supportive nonetheless. It was all she could do.

Odin †

They both spoke to one another as friends, as that's what they had started out as once upon a time, so many years ago now that it felt like two completely different people. It had seemed like every time Odin had met Arisa, she had possessed a new face, meanwhile he had only died in between their meetings, which was obviously a lot less impressive. At least she was doing okay, considering they basically hadn't seen each other since Odin had punched her and jumped off a cliff. That had been a weird day for sure.

The tone got very sombre as Arisa looked upon the graves and spoke about seeing the souls of the dead, which was something Odin really didn't get, despite being dead himself. He had heard of graveyards being places of reflection for many among the living, but he had only ever experienced death here so he wasn't one for hanging around. After all, no one liked being constantly reminded of their own suicide. That was just awkward.

She spoke about feeling dead shortly after, which caused Odin to face her directly for the first time, his voice low and quiet, "Trust me, you don't know what that feels like. Until your heart no longer beats, your brain stops working and your skin feels like a heavy coat you can't take off, you're still alive. Hell", Odin chuckled lightly before continuing, "You're half angel, probably the closest thing to the exact opposite of someone like me other than, you know, an actual angel." He'd wait then until she asked how he was, at which point he wouldn't hesitate to tell her.

"Truthfully, I feel like I've done so much to achieve my goal without actually progressing towards it. I've set things in motion that can help me with what I need to do, but as of yet there are no results. It's tough, having to work on faith and push through even when you don't know it's the right way to go."

"What are your goals?"

Kurisa listened to the person who was once a man, but now he was a lich and a friend she has been feeling distant towards. Who wouldn't have after falling in love with a man they were friends with and then being broken by them? Even after all that he still hasn't noticed. He still assumed she was the same 'Arisa'. Being able to never die, never having to go through the process of harvesting another's body and soul to stay alive after 'death'. It must be a paradise to be immortal in such a way. Her? She will always end up seeking for the same shit.

"Heh, perhaps I don't know it feels like what you have been through, but the same could be said about you." She calmly spoke as she did not want to seem upset at all. "I rather feel nothing at all than to feel and be hurt - over and over again." She started to coldly speak with an expressionless face. "I died after you left. You know." She just gazed into the distance. Rather he cares or not did matter anymore. She just wanted to let him know. He did not need to know why or how either unless he asked either. How she was here now? He did not know much about her curse either.

Odin started to ask about her goals as she really never has told him about what those were. "Hmm..." She licked her lips and bit the lower right side in thought. After a few seconds of silence, she spoke, "It use to be love, family and all that, but realizing that this world doesn't deserve my heart. My goal is to gain enough power to overthrow the gods and live comfortably with the family that I have left and that I create.". Power was all she could do for herself now. Having someone to love her did not exist. Oh well.

Odin †

Perhaps Kurisa had a point. Odin didn't know anything about what she had gone through to get to where she was. He also knew literally nothing about becoming a nephilim, so it was possible that she had died at some point and had come back as she was now. She also raised an interesting query: whether it was better to never feel or to only feel hurt. Odin may have not have nerve endings anymore, so touch in that sense was definitely more limited, but he still had emotions. And he would never want them to go. His emotions were what made him stronger after all, they had aided him time and time again. Becoming an unfeeling corpse was never something that would happen to him, he had far too much left to do after all.

Her next answer surprised him. She spoke of her own goals, and how they had once been to find love and family but now were about power. Specifically, she spoke of wanting the power to kill gods and change the world in that way. It was interesting to consider someone being strong enough to rival a god, but Odin had no doubt Kurisa would likely be the one to manage it. She was still someone Odin considered a threat, as she possessed a lot of power already. As long as their goals never collided, he had no doubt she would find success.

"This funny world of ours does have a nice way of reminding us of things that can't be changed. It's like it's challenging us to try. And, if nothing else, that makes it all the more satisfying when we eventually reach those goals." Odin chuckled lightly before continuing, "Just make sure, if you ever fight the Icebergian gods, that you go for the right Odin, otherwise things could get awkward."

"You jest." She chuckled softly as he joked about how his name was Odin - just like one of the Gods. "Personally, I doubt he's a skeleton so it'd be hard to get the wrong one." She wondered which gods she was going to go after. Perhaps the ones that wronged her first. The illumin God that literally downgraded her into what she was now. She remembered how powerful she was at first. How it made her feel great, she helped people with the power, but now she was just a washed-up version of what she once was. Pathetic.

"So Odin, what chaos do you plan on doing now?" Her head turned to look up at her old friend. "I know you're always up to something, but always keep me in the dark. When will you ever trust me?" She almost sounded hurt. She trusted him with everything she was, would never hurt him if she didn't have to. Why was it her that was always kept in the dark, but not some randoms he finds? They could not be lovers, but being friends was all that mattered to her now when it came to their relationship. Her head turned back to gaze at the emptiness of the far horizon that would exist. "You should know by now that I'm neutral. Chaotic good perhaps even. Truly, I suppose I don't even know where I sit, but what I do know is that I always stand by my friends - no matter what they do. Unless it harms me of course." She gave a ghostly chuckle. It was obvious she cared for those that she felt any friendship for. Sure, their love was something she felt remorse over, but it could not be helped. The past was the past, but their friendship should be what lasts.

Odin †

While Odin didn't personally know much about the Icebergian pantheon, despite having the name and formerly owning the weapon of its king, he also doubted that his namesake was actually a skeleton. If he was, then things would no doubt get very awkward at one point, more so than they arguably already were. It would be interesting if Kurisa did destroy the god though, as it would make the Lich the strongest 'Odin' currently in existence. That would certainly be an interesting moniker to own.

Then came the question he was expecting. What was he up to; what did he have planned; would he trust her. His response came without hesitation, and devoid of emotion, "Don't take it personally, I don't trust many people. Besides, the surprise is more fun." Odin's plans were varied and deep, and he could not allow any of them to make their way around the minds and mouths of Fiore. While he did necessarily have a reason to distrust Kurisa, neither was she particularly evil. She would have reason to spread Odin's plans, even if she did not wish to, and that was not something the Lich would abide.

"I don't doubt you're a good friend. I guess we've yet to find out if I'll be one." Chuckling lightly, Odin would then bow his head to his old friend, a Lich bowing to an angel, before heading back towards the town. He had work to do. "Farewell for now." His voice would linger in the silence of the graveyard even after he had disappeared from view.
