Odin †

Samhain... That was a name Odin hadn't heard for some time. Last time he had had any interaction with the pumpkin king of Samhain was in Worth Woodsea, many years ago when his games, if you could even call them that, had sprung up out of the blue. Samhain had granted Odin the power of the Plague, as he was also someone of incredible power himself, even if no one knew anything about him, or who he once was before he took the city and became the inconceivable being he was. Having played some of his games already, Odin knew that the word was misplaced. These were not games, as they often resulted in some form of trauma for the player should they lose. Odin remembered well all the games he had played during his visit to the forests of the north, but this one was new.

He was in the Void, having found a room within the mist and nothingness that otherwise coated the strange location. The room housed a single skeleton, bored out of his mind as he waited for someone, anyone to approach.

"One of Samhain's games I presume?"

At the sound of a voice, the skeleton perked up almost instantly, becoming more alive than someone of his nature really should have been capable of. Clearly it had been a slow day, and he simply wanted someone to play. He led the Lich through a door that appeared, and into a dark room. He was told two words to say three times, but the skeleton wrote them down. He didn't say them aloud himself, instead instructing Odin to say them in front of the mirror. After that, the man ran out, clearly not wanting to be in the room for whatever was about to happen. If nothing else, it was pretty interesting.

"Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary."

Grinning from ear to ear, shichiro was pretty content with himself after his last success with the previous Halloween game he's played. He managed to effortlessly pin the heart and was now proud he could make up for his first loss. This feeling wouldn't last too long however as he now realized he was happy with a tie. Now all he had to do was play another game and hope his luck would continue to push him forward. Now the skeleton that was accompanying him told him there was one more game for him to try and play but he advised against it. This pique shichiro's curiosity and made him wonder what was up with the game. The skeleton had made a gesture of a sigh as he tried once more to warn shichiro not to play that game. Not wanting to relent, shichiro had been pushy about the subject until the skeleton itself gave up and decided to tell shichiro the rules of the game. The rules of the game were very simple. All he had to do was stand in front of a mirror and say the words, "Bloody Mary" three times and wait. If nothing happens, he won but if something happens then well, the skeleton had tried to warn him not to play the game and will not be at fault for what happens next. This made shichiro wonder if it was dangerous and if he wasn't better off just destroying the mirror but the skeleton advised against destroying public property. He also explained it doesn't have any lasting detrimental effects other than potential nightmares if he wasn't made of tough stuff. He assured the skeleton he would be able to handle it before stepping in front of the mirror to test his mettle. "Blood Mary, Blood Mary, Blood Mary," shichiro said mockingly.

Karisa

Her luck with the cups was decent, but not good enough to win the game. The item was not in the cup she picked out. "I suppose to the next game.". She shook her head and sighed before walking off towards another game. She watched the same stranger who played the game before her. He seemed to have ran off from the game she was walking towards. What was so scary? She bit her lower lip and encountered the game itself. The person was speaking to some mirror and she was not really understanding the big deal from this at all.

Kurisa itched the back of her head and yawned softly. They hinted to get closer to the mirror and the note said to say some certain words. It was like some story a child would tell another to scare them or to get them to try it out. Speaking a word three times; sometimes it was just a normal word, a few and sometimes even a name - it was mainly a name with some story behind it. What was this story? Were they that lazy to really make a story about this person? The closer she got to the mirror, the room went dark as the area was filled with darkness.

'What a trick.' she snickered quietly and yawned once more. Her eyes tiredly gazed at the mirror and finger tips slid against the mirror's rims. Her beautiful eyes did not take off from the reflection at all. "Bloody Mary." She started and wondered if anything was going to happen at the first. Perhaps a reaction out of the fake that may appear. "Bloody Mary." She did a second time and just shrugged it off. "Bloody Mary." She spoke a third time. There was nothing, but then rather she noticed or not....

Spooky. No, really. This whole void area was very spooky. Still, it had games. And where there was games there was Zane. This game seemed to be a tad bit different from the rest. Actually, wait. Zane had only played one game so far. Of course they would be different. Silly Zane. Zane was being directed to some dark room - once again, a pretty scary situation to be in for a man wanted for treason. Seriously, these were kind of working up his anxiety just a little bit. Still, Zane did not want to risk Beelzebub's wrath. The demon would most likely not be very happy if Zane didn't do something that would allow them a shot at prizes. They lost the first time, but Zane was determined that he'd make it through. This one was simple. All he had to do was say the words bloody mary three times into a mirror.

As the mirror magically appeared, Zane sat up a little bit. That was cool. All that it took now was to say blood mary. "Bloody Mary." There was the first one down. Nothing bad had happened yet. Now that Zane thought about it, he had actually seen a girl named Mary be bloody before. Zane wondered how she was doing. She would actually like this game he felt - she always seemed to be one for that whole horror vibe. Hopefully she was alright these days. "Bloody Mary." There was the second one down. Just one more. Still, Zane feared what could happen if the Blood Mary really did appear. This game was creepy if nothing else. Taking a deep breath in, Zane decided to just man up and do it. No pain, no game. Besides, ghosts weren't real, right? Right? Clearing his throat, Zane said the words, hoping for the best.

"Bloody Mary."

Besouro
For better or for worse, the beetle of Gualana had managed to fail every game it had participated in so far. It chittered to itself quietly- although the insect couldn't talk, if it didn't actually pay too much attention to the sounds that left its thorax it liked to pretend it could. It had wandered out of the Resting Place a while ago and into the Void- the strange area seemed to shift and pull itself into different contortions every time it looked away. After several minutes of wandering, it came to another stall- this one in front of a single, black door.

It bent its neck down slightly to read the instructions- enter the room, and speak the words bloody mary three times in front of a mirror. That... might have been a problem. It did not have the proper anatomy to properly vocalize human language. Maybe it could just tap on the mirror and see if that worked? As if seeing the insect was obviously intrigued by their game, a skeleton gently wrapped its phalanges around its chitinous wrist, dragging it into the dark gameroom before it had time to orient itself. It made to chitter in a responding complaint, but the door shut too quickly for its voice to be heard. Inhale. Exhale.

A mirror rose up from a translucent, misty gas that blanketed the floor. It stood tauntingly before Besouro, daring it to speak the words which could never leave its mouth. It flexed its fingers, hearing the joints creak unnervingly with each subtle movement. Eventually, it raised a black hand to the glass, tapping out the syllables of the word itself. Whether it was an acceptable substitute for human speech, only time would tell.

Bloo-dy Ma-ry. Bloo-dy Ma-ry. Bloo-dy Ma-ry.

Juni Anastos
It was a new day and she was refreshed and ready to take on the last three games oh Samhain. The fabled void certainly lived up to its name and it was a pain in the ass finding it. Of course, eventually, she did and without wasting any time she went straight to the games. The first game was called Bloody Mary, the bone being at the booth greeted her as they all do and escorted her to a dark room, she was instructed to say the words " bloody mary " three times in the mirror. Juni was confused though because she didn't see a mirror and when she turned around to ask the bone being about the mirror he was gone and when she turned back around the mirror was magically in its place. This seemed like another game of luck so with a sigh and an eye roll she did as she was told. The words came out real slow, she was one hundred percent dragging each syllable because she really hoped she wouldn't get a scare, but seeing as her lick was shit these past few days she already knew what was coming. The last "bloody mary" escaped from her lips and her fate was sealed.

#14Steel

Samhain: Bloody Mary Empty Sun Nov 01, 2020 6:12 am

Steel

Steel had gone through the usual haunts, he had gone through the haunted house, he had gone through Samhain's tower and now he had also gone through the rave garden of no actual rest. He was skipping along. He was losing games. He was laughing very loudly. And he was crying softly. But he was also angry with a raging hate fire. The puke had dried from his mask. The long since dried blood stuck to his tuxedo had started falling off like dried skin on an old man's scalp. Generally speaking. Steel looked disgusting and mad.

He had found a door standing alone without a house or other building in the forest outside of town and walked through it and he had gotten to this strange place. It was a white room that sometimes turned black. It was endlessly big. There was no floor and it felt like you walked in the air but there was definitely something beneath your feet. Strange. Very strange. The one thing that seemed to exist here were game booths. So Steel walked up to one of them. It was a skeleton again. All Steel felt was anger, he wanted to grind the skeleton to bonemeal. But he could not. He needed the pops. The pops was all he had now and it was all he wanted.

The skeleton would lead Steel through a magically appearing door into a dark room. The skeleton then explained that to win this game and gain the pumpkin pops you had to say bloody mary three times and come out of the room without having been scared. Steel found this to be ridiculous but he remembered doing this when he was younger. Nothing had happened then and nothing would probably happen now.

The skeleton left and a mirror magically appeared in the room. And so Steel chanted.
“Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary!”

Masami
The dark booth is covered in a dark cloth, and that it could be compared similarly to a fortune-telling tent. Masami entered this in haste, knowing that it's another one of those skeleton games and... oh? Was he wrong? It doesn't seem to be the case; when Masami entered the tent, there was nothing but darkness. A mirror had appeared in front of him, through magic, and an odd sound effect jaded inside the whole tent. Then, a note was clipped at the top, giving Masami instructions on how to win the game. It was unknown to Masami what this tale is, but he was still willing to conduct the said rituals.

Then, upon finishing a quick read upon the instructions, he'd chant the words that were written in red ink. It was "Bloody Mary," written thrice, so Masami would chant it thrice... whoever or whatever that even was. Perhaps he said it incorrectly, or maybe he chanted it in the wrong tune; the instructions didn't say anything else. He stared at the mirror, and the reflection stared back at him. If an unknown entity ever appears, will Masami be alright in the end? Or will he rather fall backwards and forever remember the humiliation?

Günter Von Wolf

Gunter proudly heads to the last tent, knowing that this hellish nightmare is almost over. As he gets up to the last tent he enters by pulling the curtains away and stepping inside. Immediately he is groped by a skeleton as it grabs him and touches his nipples. The skeleton says "Oh my I haven't seen a big boy, a young buck like you in a while!" Gunter says "Holy fuck this entire place is so god damn gay."

As Gunter looks at the skeleton and says "Where am I heading?" he's pointed to the skeleton who adds on "Go on, I'll bring up the rear..." The skeleton from behind starts squeezing his left and right cheek while making honking noises. The skeleton then informs him that it's his final test. "I'll turn back here, we have more guests on the way. But I'll say this: fear not the dark, my friend, and let the feast of booty begin!" and with that, the skeleton turns and walks away, slamming the door in the dark room on Gunter.

In front of Gunter, a light slightly illuminates and a mirror appears in front of him. He reads a note that tells him that all he has to do is say "Bloody Mary" three times and not get his shit rocked. He looks at the mirror, adjusting his hair, dusting his clothes and dirt off, to make himself presentable. He's almost out of this hell.

Should he succeed, he leaves with no consequences. Should he fail, he gets jumpscared by a woman with bleeding eyes that comes crawling out of the mirror to choke him to death. Then immediately that woman is tackled to the ground and beaten to a pulp by the gay clown from earlier. Gunter sprints out shouting "I'm getting the FUCK OUT OF HERE!", running away at full speed while hearing a male clown voice shouting from behind "OOOOOOOOOH! GET BACK HERE, BOY! I NEED TO GIVE YOU MY CREAM PIE!". Gunter would get out of this hellscape at full speed.

Alyssandra
After a slew of losses in the Garden of Rest, Aly had managed to win one of the games there, just before departing. He had won the final game, carefully keeping track of each of the zombie heads and hitting them the moment they appeared. He was faster than even he had realised, and smiled as the game became easier towards the end. He reached the required score and had won, which made the entire day so much better, given he demoralised he had been after his constant feeling of loss. He had decided to go straight to the final location, not even bothering to wait. He wanted to build on his success, go even further while he was ahead. There was no way to know if this was a good idea or not, but it was Aly's idea.

The first game in the strange place called the Void seemed fairly simple, but upon entering the tent Aly noticed something. He was at the game, and knew he had travelled there, but he knew nothing about where he had come from or how long he had been walking. He was just dumbstruck at the magic as he entered the room with the mirror. He knew what he had to do, but he wasn't feeling as confident.

"Bloody Mary. Blood Mary. Bloody Mary."

Victor
Having failed the game. Victor had placed the heart pin on the wrong skeleton. He had placed it on the one that was real and not the fake one where he was actually supposed to place it. Annoying. Embarrassing. Moving on through this strange world where there was nothing except for a sea of whiskey that was hard as concrete. This void was like a cursed place that showed the traveller something they wanted to see but made it in such a way where they could not get it even if they wanted to.

Victor in time found another game booth. The skeleton in the booth greeted Victor and Victor greeted them back. Hoping that he would win this game as the skeleton explained the rules. “Go into this room.” They pointed to a room that suddenly appeared. The room was dark. “Say bloody mary three times.” They then explained that if Victor would come out of the room without having soiled himself or shown any other form of being scared then he would win. Victor agreed and went into the room. When in the room a mirror magically appeared out of nowhere. And Victor said the magic word three times. What happened next. Well that's a story for another time.

Alfynn
Alfyn approached the game booth filled to the brim with excitement, it was his first game and despite him not being a big fan of horror and fright he wanted to participate for a chance at the rewards, after all who could say no to free stuff, well partially free, he thought being a little scared for his sanity as no doubt some of those games would try to scare him witless. Nevertheless, he was up to give each and every game a try, after all this celebration only lasts for a small part of the year it wouldn't be wise to miss anything that was being offered. His curiosity was at its peak as he finally came close to the skeleton sitting at the door to the entrance, the skeleton welcomed him with a bow and wondered whether he was ready to face miss Bloody Mary. Alfyn was a bit astonished at the name, really was that the being from which the famous Bloody Mary drink was named after, he humored himself for a bit and then proceeded to go through the door per the directions of the skeleton. After a short while and with Alfyn now having stopped in his tracks since the room was quite dark and he could barely see the exit, a mirror popped out of thin air right in front of him, remembering the directions of the skeleton he chanted the name three times slowly in front of the mirror with the third one making him stutter a bit wishing that he could win the game without anything terrorizing him. Nevertheless he prepared himself for either option at this point right before finishing the third chant, if something popped out of the mirror he'd try banging it in the head and if he won, well all the better for him then. With that in mind he finished the chant.
