Khalfani †
Today's quest would be like any other Khalfani had taken. Now, he initially told himself that the previous quest he had done would be the last quest he would in Oak city and probably even the entire west region. However, he realized that he actually enjoyed the thrill of these little missions. Today in particular, he had a taste for a more...flavorful quest. By definition, this type of quest was illegal- but that didn't necessarily mean it was bad. He had no intentions of murdering or maiming anyone. Just making money and having fun while doing it. However, this would probably be his last illegal quest for a while. He didn't want anything to backfire on him while he was n the process of created this new entity. He didn't want all the light guilds trying to hunt him down and he didn't want the government scoping too deep into his business.

The spell sword known as Khalfani had one thing in mind today. The Marino mafia family had put in a very special quest for the son of the Wizard Lord Odin. Apparently his reputation proceeded him. It was a good thing too. It meant that he was a mage in high demand. Ultimately, that meant that he would be making a shit load of money in the future. The rogue prince walked through the city of Baska. It was late night. Far too late for anyone to really be out and about. It was a good thing too, because the young Morningstar didn't want anyone to associate him with a family like the Marinos. They were known for killing any and everyone who they deemed a threat. They were a powerful family in Oak city. Khalfani could respect what they had done for themselves. However, they knew not to fuck with the Black Panther.

Khalfani †
Sure they may have had guns and probably all sorts of magical weapons, but they weren't fighters. They weren't trained or had gone through the worst of wars. Khalfani had though. So, with his black sweater, sweatpants and sneakers, he walked through the city towards the meeting point that mister Frankie Marino had asked him to be. Emphasis on ask. The Marinos paid well. It would be silly if they didn't after all, considering most of the tasks required someone being slaughtered, taunted, or just plain ole destroyed. The moon was blanketed by the clouds in the sky tonight. She obviously wasn't feeling the vibes. The former vampire moved as silently as he could, still getting used to the fact that now he had to try to do such things. When he was a vampire, that ability was a given and it was very useful in the grand scheme of things.

He had changed from an assassin like fighter to a warrior-like fighter in the span of a month. My, how things moved quickly when you had a mission. The night was cold, but the weather wasn't at all unpleasant. Khal liked the frosty breeze. The place Frankie had wanted the young Morningstar to meet was and abandoned coffee shop called "The kick". They had been abandoned for months and that probably had something to do with the Marino family, especially if they were meeting here. How had they gotten away with so many things for so long? Only the gods would ever know. When the Rogue Prince of Desierto entered the establishment, Frankie stood up, greeting him with a smile before getting straight into the details after a general "How are you?" and "Nice, good to hear" type of conversation. The details were simple. Khalfani needed to trail a few men, figure out where they were going, what they were doing here and give them a nice healthy message to stay away.

Khalfani nodded. Honestly, he was glad the the Marino family had decided to go with the typical taunt tactic and didn't want him to behead the men, figure out where their families lived and mail it to their mothers. It was a breath of fresh air. Khalfani didn't enjoy killing. Who the hell did? After they had gone over the details again with Frankie going more in depth about how they were trying to protect the city and blah blah blah. Khalfani left to do what he did best. His job. The former Eternal Nightmare mage left and the first thing he did was climb to the roof. What better way to track and hunt pray then where they would least expect to look. Surely they knew the marino family ran these parts and surely they would be on guard, but perhaps not entirely. Plus, from what Frankie had been telling the Desiertan Dragon slayer, these men were amateurs to say the least.

There was only one thing left to do now. The cold air blew the hoodie of his sweater everywhere but only the sound of the trees and the crickets within them could be heard. The town was completely asleep. Children had school tomorrow and their parents had jobs and other business to attend too. Everybody was out for the count, just like the former vampire liked it. Part of him did miss being a vampire. Moments like this reminded him how in his earlier days, when he had trouble controlling the disease, he would sit at the top of a building and peer down on prey. Hungry, but somehow convincing himself that he wouldn't kill them before pouncing on them and doing exactly what he said he wouldn't. The feed was pleasurable, but it consumed him. That part he didn't like. He didn't like feeling or actually being a monster because I mean who actually would?

The three men moved through the city together, swiftly walking until they approached the first stop. It was a store with its lights on. The men went in for a moment and then came out a few moments after. What were they doing? Perhaps trying to establish dominance but they would be at it all night if they went about it this way. Frankie was right, these guys really were amateurs. It was sad to see honestly. Khalfani almost jumped off of the roof, went down there and told them how to do it right. Instead, as the men began walking away from the store, the Black panther would jump down enter the store and give the owner words of reassurance. He was obviously scared, shivering as sweat dripped from his forehead. The people in oak town, you would think, would be used to the fear tactics by now. Alas, it seemed that they weren't.

It must have been hard to feel so powerless all the time. Khal couldn't say he didn't feel bad. Once he reassured the store keeper that everything was okay and he was playing vigilante, he moved on. Back on the roof he went as he began sprinting to catch up to the men who had now entered another store. This establishment was smaller, yet the lights were still on. It was odd. It seemed like these specific shop keepers were waiting for the men to come to them. Could have been an under the table deal going on. Whatever the case, it didn't matter. Khalfani would not being doing more than he was being paid for. The Marino family weren't his friends, they were simply business partners and it would remain that way. In his experience, once you started doing more than you needed to for people like this, they'd see that and capitalize off of it. The calls, the letters, the requests, it would all never end.

Once the man had left the second store, Khalfani did the same thing he had done previously. He hopped down from the roof, entered the store and told the owner that it would be okay. This one was just as nervous as the last, in fact, she started crying. This whole mafia family, crime family business was taking a toll on the people. With a sigh, khal told the woman that there was a place in the north if she wanted away from all this. Then he left, leaving her with something to ponder on. The people didn't deserve to be in the middle of petty family crime feuds. After he was done he hopped back onto the roof and followed them to the third store where he had done the same as he had already been doing. However, this time he stopped them before they could leave the front of the store. The Black panther slowly went up to them and told them exactly what Frank marino had said. It turned out that these men weren't about that thug life after all. All it took was a few words for them to scram like a bunch of little children. When the job was done, khal entered the store and reassured the owner before heading back to Frankie Marino where he would receive his very hefty reward. Job well done.
