His flesh is particularly smooth, and he does not have any facial hair growing. The white hair he keeps at shoulder length on his head is often hanging in front of his eyes. His vampire fangs are not visible through his lips, and his high cheek bones sit squarely underneath and give his face a predatory point. Usually Astreus dresses like a typical young man. He wears jackets of various colors, and even robes. He likes different colors to brighten his appearance, but usually he just wears a simple black leather jacket with his red scarf. Embedded inside of his chest is a red jewel, and is an actual project of his. This red jewel is called the Gem of Tiphareth. While wearing his battle armor the Gem is surrounded by thin black metal plates. He often keeps a walking staff, and the Vampire is fond of his golden Samsara wheel earring. Extra: Astreus' tongue is split down the middle to prevent himself from having an accent. PERSONALITY Personality: As a human Astreus was known by Joseph, and like his history as a vampire masquerading among humans; Astreus has two operative functions of his personality. While comfortable with his company, Astreus can be true to himself and his thirst for knowledge is on display. Arrogant, wise and well read he often has a lot to say. His mannerisms are noble, and he is present with gentlemanly manners. Among people he doesn't know Astreus is very aggressive when it comes to interactions with strange others. He is a curious man, however the few words he speaks with in these uneasy situations might hide his true intentions of scholarly origins. Astreus is heavily tied to tradition, and maintains an active voice in society. Often material driven he enjoys simple hedonism like many vampires. Shiny gold, sharp blades and steadfast Articifery are his favorite things to acquire. His fast pattern of speech makes it clear that he has an excess of thoughts. He speaks highly of magical arts, classical music, women, cats not dogs, and his Vampire lifestyle. He is very fond of all humans, however he does avoid beast-kin. Difficult to anger Astreus can be very playful with words, often acting like an instigator among someone who might question his actions. Astreus is highly critical of the government, and magi alike. He holds Magi to the highest standard next to a Vampire, but keeps his respect at arms length with a hint of paranoia. He believes like the Vampires of old did, and that all master must work upon a Magnum Opis. Astreus is heavily attached to his arts as a mage, and only the elite might find themselves at his behest. Likewise it takes acts of extreme ignorance to incur his wrath, and like any man who bottles his rage up there is a lot to release. This leads him to an extremely organized life style where he maintains control of all around him, so that he can keep his wits about him and tend to the self care services he partakes in daily. Using the power of darkness inside his physical body Astreus is able to utilize an infinite shadow for Darkness Spells. This shadow is born inside of his body and has never seen light outside of magical means, which gives a particularly viscous effect physically. Shadows of Atziluth are physically bearing with heavy weight and the natural disfigurement of liquid metals. Upon consuming blood the Vampire seals some of its vital essence rather than just consuming it all. This is a passiveritual for the Vampire and serves no purpose in spell casting. After the Vampire is done feeding, the energy stored inside of their stomach is contained by a magical seal; until reformed by magical spells to act as the medium for the Darkness of Atziluth to form upon. Once the magical seal has formed atop the skin of the stomach area, the Shadow of Atziluth coagulated inside the users body. At this point the shadow can be formed through another magical seal, or purged from Astreus' body somehow. The supply made from the essence of blood is nearly endless, and these Shadows of Atziluth are a classic style of Darkness Vampire Magic. HISTORY History: As a human Astreus was born to a happy family. His name was Joseph, and he grew up like any normal young man would. Smart and proficient he became an accomplished accountant for the local Fairy Tail Outpost by the age of 27. A normal man, with no great aspirations he was content with the mundane world. Working by night he would arrange quest details for the local guild to their appropriate files, and he was happy with that. This all changed for Joseph when the Outpost was attacked by a Vampire. Astreus' sire, Altair, was a very old vampire who had yet to create a childr. He stormed the outpost at night looking for a magically inclined human and Joseph the Mundane was helpless against him. Altair was seeking a magically proficient kin to impart his knowledge upon, however he had no desire to do so peacefully. With most of the guild away or asleep, Joseph was attacked. After severing Joseph's left Achilles tendon Altair kidnapped him in the dead of night, and he was never seen again by any of the people who had known him. No records of his disappearance were noted, and the young man was turned that night. After fifty years with the being Altair, Joseph became an accomplished mage. Accomplished with an ancient Darkness magic Altair passed this style down to Joseph. With no concept of time to weigh him down, his progress was quick and Joseph became adept with the Darkness of Atziluth. By the time Altair was unable to feed, his disease having attacked his bones, Joseph had taken a new name. Astreus means "among starlight," and there is a strong connection to his name and Altairs infliction. Having turned a vampire while diseased as he was, Astreus was different. His blood literally sparkled when he was yearning for blood, and after Altair was gone the Vampire found it had an illicit effect upon humans. Certain this unique culmination of his sires disease and the Shadows of Atziluth, Astreus began to search the underworld for knowledge of other Vampires like him. Kin of the Ancient Tribe of Atziluth. With no thing holding him down, Astreus decided he would forge this new path. Traveling to different villages he would toy with mortals and inquire about the magical studies of modern era. Learning about the times through small talk, Astreus became known as a traveler around the countryside. Eventually he discovered that his blood could get humans in a state of addictive bliss upon consumption, and for many decades he was a part of the black market. He specialized in personal work, and loosed his Vampire Blood for nobles to feast upon. Holding back the tasteful qualities held by the origin of the Shadows of Atziluth, Astreus was experimenting with magic upon humans during this time. Astreus became wealthy, and grew solid connections around Fiores royalty. Most of any reputation sought his blood for recreation, and like a trophy Astreus toted himself to various cities like a prize. Unfortunately the addictive nature of his blood turned many humans into ghouls who hunted him; and considering the different magical experimenta he had done to his blood before they consumed it, Astreus began to fear higher powers persecution. The Black Venom as his blood was known, had many myths surrounding it, and if he didnt stop the Guilds were liable to discover his unethical methods. Taking to the shadows Astreus' went into hiding and cut off access to his blood by most. He decided to use his magical arts for a living, and juggled some connections to be admitted into Fairy Tail. While he isn't working with his guild through quests he tends to several families whom know him from generational blessings as the Black Venom. These three families adapted well to the experiments he had performed and in exchange for his blood, these families offer their own as well as their children to be his childe. Astreus is scouting the world for a childe, and will go to any length to preserve his legacy in a better way than his sire was able to. The immortal believes that his now open experimentation with these consenting humans will increase the odds of his childe one day turning from a Fiorian human. Reference: None |
