Kaz was patrolling the streets for the wolf after having spoken with Daragast. Lucky enough Amen'ra had been asked by the dragon-like creature to investigate as well. The two of them had met in the wild and Kaz knew it would be a breeze taking out the wold together.

"Alright then," he said extending his hand to the solar mage, "I should have expected you to find your way into this Amen'ra. So...Let's take down a wolf." It was a light-hearted response and one that was eager to get to work.

The night was silent under the brightly lit moon. Kaz dashed from rooftop to rooftop, taking the high ground as Amen'ra kept an alert eye on the streets. Both of them had a sensory perception that could prove helpful.

"You would think a rogue wolf would make more of a stir in the town," he mentioned to Amen. Kaz stopped on one of the roofs and sighed as he scanned the area.

"You got anything down there," he asked, not yet addressing that the two of them knew very little about one another. They just seemed to find one another and start work. They had made a base introduction in the when the first met, but nothing of substance.

As Kaz peered around the town. Nothing caught his eye out of the ordinary. The streets were clear aside from the late-night wanderers that had too much to drink.

The lights in homes began to flicker out as the people gave way to sleep. In the eerie dead silence of the night, there was a faint breathy scream. One that vanished as quickly as it arose.

In the distance, a man stumbled from an alley. Blood smearing down his arm. He fell into the wall of the building next to him. Sliding down to the ground he left blood painted on the wall.

Both the mages would have heard that call. Amen'ra may have been able to see the thermal figure of the wolf when he got close enough. Kaz was ready to leap forward at any moment.

"It doesn't seem like I can avoid a good fight, besides; you know i'm decent help." He jested to the man, taking his hand firmly before the two of them went separate ways.

Amen'ra had managed to make yet another friend from his adventures and mishaps. This time it was a wind mage by the name of Kazimir, a very powerful wind mage at that and one that he found insanely interesting. His power taking on the shape of a white tiger when used, which served to be very aesthetically pleasing to the young mage. But that wasn't why they were here, they were here to deal with a wild beast that had gotten loose.

The wolf in question seemed to only come out to hunt at night, it's victims left a bloody mess in alleyways and the sort after it turned on it's former master. So with his new friend moving between the rooftops of the large city, Amen'ra graced the earth with his form. His body without his typical armor, opting for a black fur coat, a thick red sweater, light blue form fitting jeans and a white scarf; his smoldering sword latched to his back.

Smirking at his companions words he would vocally shrug with a tone laced with sarcasm and humor. "You'd think people would stay home if a ravenous wold were running around, but apparently booze is more important than their lives." With how many drunkards were wobbling through the streets you'd think someone would of spotted the lupine quadruped by now, but alas, their search continued.

Continuing his search, Amen'ra looked up to Kaz when he asked if he'd seen anything yet and gave an almost sad nod indicating he hadn't. Standing in his own tracks with both hands on his hips, black nails contrasting his milky fur and a disheartened look, the two of them finding this wolf in the snow was beginning to seem impossible. Not to mention how much distance they would have to cover to--

Amen'ra's head jerked in the direction of a scream coming from the distance, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up at the indication. He could see a man with blood on his form splatting himself onto a wall and being dragged by the ankle deeper into the space between the buildings. "There!" He pointed, finger like a danger as he raced toward the direction of the attack.

His right hand gripped the hilt of his black despite not unsheathing it, his eyes focused on the location of the attack as Kaz trailed behind him. A hand raised to the sky to summon a red and gold magic seal that caused his eyes to become burning light, allowing him to see the temperature around them contrasting the cold blue snow. "Solar Sight!" He called out in the silence streets of Era, quiet enough not to cause a disturbance. The shape of the hunched but large wolf was a bit intimidating and the sounds of it's eating echoing through the silence was unnerving, but they had to be strong!

"Needless to say, it's our target. We forming a plan or are we just gonna run in and kick it's ass?"

"More than decent, I'd say," Kaz responded back as he remembered all the spells he unleashed against their first foes. The man had talent and Kaz had questions about his companions magic but they could wait till later.

Amen'ra was right of course. If word had got out about the wolf, people should have been in their homes. But Kaz had seen enough foolhardy people, not to put anything past them at this point. He nodded back at the statement, his eyes still glancing over the buildings As he was peering over the town he made note of his comrade's attire that was a stark difference to when they had met. But they were moving at night this time so maybe he dressed accordingly. Kaz however always wore the same uniform he always did.

The scream echoed through the street and Kaz focused in on the direction it came from As Amen'ra pointed it out. His eyes narrowed and the wind began to gather as he was readying for battle. They both took off towards the sound as the man was drug deeper into the alley. The man's hands grasping at anything to stop himself from being pulled into the darkness but found no salvation.

Kaz followed behind Amen'ra and saw the man's eyes light up as they had before. He dropped down from the roofs before they reached the wolf's street den. He ran alongside the man, wondering what the mystery behind his eyes was, but it was yet another question for another time.

They stood at the entrance to the alley. The menacing wolf was within it. The chomping accompanied by moan through gurgled blood. Kaz stopped and glared at the beast. His hands clenched in a fist at the sight of the murdered man and the stains of other victims that had met the same fate.

Normally he would just blow the wolf away in a fury of wind. But since his magic had undergone a change he didn't have access to all he had before. But, he took a deep breath and answered the same anyway, "I'll distract it, Your spells seem pretty precise," he answered knowing that Amen'ra was more than capable of an expertly placed javelin of light after having skewered the mage in the forest.

Kaz lunged forward causing the wolf to flare up its stance ready to pounce. At the moment the wold charged forward, Kaz kicked off the ground and shot into the air.

Amenra

Amen'ra appreciated Kaz's compliment, and considered the other man more than decent help as well. He just felt his magic still lacked the impact that he knew it would have in the future, and so he often downplayed his skills when compared to other mages but the wind mage saw different. It was a nice dynamic to their friendship that he hoped would continue to flourish over the years to come.

Finding their way to the entrance of the alleyway to come across the wolf feasting on the innards of the departed citizen, Amen'ra scowled. How could someone be so careless with such a dangerous beast, and how could be people so careless when they knew. He didn't understand other people some times, but he could understand that most people felt invulnerable until something bad happened to them. It didn't mean they deserved what had come to them but that they'd willing put themselves in that situation fully aware of the risks.

"Sounds like a plan." He agreed before he was raising his hand to concentrate his volatile magics. Kaz was moving with divine grace and speed to catch the beasts eye. It's posture shifting to have it's hairs standing and it's teeth on display in it's deadly maw, only lunging toward the man when he got too close; but it was in vain. As the wind mage took metaphorical flights to leap high above the canine and leave it's sights now filled with only Amen'ra who was smirking devilishly.

The red and golden magic seals that formed over his hand having disappeared to give way to a golden flaming spear of sunlight that was now clutched in his closed fist. Before the wolves feet could even hit the ground Amen'ra was launching the attack forward to deliver a decisive blow to the beast with that deadly accuracy that made the spell so frightening. "Saintly lance!" He called out before releasing the devastating attack.

Without warning the wolf found the 4 foot long javelin piercing it's eye and plunging itself deep into his body through organs and brain matter. Causing it to drop from it's lunge with a small yelp, now a lifeless body on the ground before the two mages. It was over in an instant but Amen'ra still kept his guard up, only relenting when the animals hind legs stopped kicking and it's body ceased it's convulsing. With that Amen'ra would look over to his companion and give a nod as if saying it was a job well done.

"Thankfully there was only one of them. Things could of gotten tricky if this were a pack." he explained before turning to leave the alley with his companion. Now all they needed to do was meet Daragast at the gate and collect their reward for a job well done. Someone would come to clean up the body when they were done, likely the man-beast who'd hired them, and with that the two of them could partake in another quest.

Kaz looked down at the wolf that he soared over. He was still getting used to the height and speed of his new magic but it was coming to him more and more with every use. The solar mage glowed red and golden, revealing the dual nature of his intense magic. He recalled in the wild that some of the man's spells were so powerful they required time to charge. With Kaz's fast ability to distract an opponent they could be a lethal pairing.

True to form, his ally launched a devastating lance made of searing light that impaled the wolf. With a single attack, the beast was dead on the ground. Its body smoked from the magic and all was done. Kaz landed on the roof and dropped back down. Another job, done without incident.

"Yeah, that would have been a pain. My magic focuses on attacking groups so it seems we balance out. But a pack running around would be hard to track down. And it's hard for me to let loose in populated areas,"
he said the last part with a hand on the back of his head and a small laugh.

"I can have some page's block this off and we can go get paid,"
he replied and began walking out of the alley. Soon they met Daragast at the gate with their reward in his hands. On the way, they ran into some page's that Kaz directed towards the alley to keep citizens from wandering down into a murder scene.

"We took care of the wolf,"
Kaz spoke up and Daragast gave them an enthusiastic smile. He gleefully handed them their rewards and thanked them for a quick job well-done and gave them the promise of more missions in the future.

That ended their first quest together and Kaz felt that this was just the beginning of a strong partnership against those that would stir up trouble.
