Diana Delgado

General

Name: Sophie Eleanor Lyandra Sequoia

Age: 23 (X771)

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Pansexual

Ethnicity, Father: Caelish

Ethnicity, Mother: Caelish

Class: Hunter

Race: Human

Rank: A-rank

Guild: Blue Pegasus

Emblem: Pink – Outer Right Thigh

Face: Vinsmoke Reiju – One Piece

Appearance

Height: 182cm

Weight: 67kg

Hair: Pink

Eyes: Periwinkle

Overall: An attractive and tall woman with a light complexion, Sophie Sequoia has wavy bubble gum pink hair of length just below her shoulders which tends to be somewhat messy, though more often than not she will wear it in a simple tail at the back of her head. Parting her hair from the left side of her head and leaving some or all of her right eye often hidden by her long bangs, the locks of this lady are a little on the wavy side and curl up at the tips, and long enough to reach the upper part of her back.

Large eyed, Miss Sequoia has unusual irises that can look anywhere from a rich blue to a soft violet depending on how the light catches them, and her overall facial structure is slender and refined. Sporting lips that are naturally rosy even without being coloured, this pink beauty has a noticeable pout that only seems to add to an overall sense of mature appeal, looking more like a woman than a girl and a little older than her age. Suffering from myopia, while she tends to habitually wear contact lenses, there are times when she is at home or feeling a casual vibe that Sophie tends to prefer the comfort and ease of a pair of spectacles. Fair in terms of her complexion, Sophie has Swiss ancestry which is reflected in her light skin and soft features, though certainly is not pale as she well appreciates the value of getting one’s vitamin D from the sun.

The style of clothing that Sophie prefers tending to be on the smart but feminine side of the spectrum, she likes blouses and sweaters, though climate permitting can often choose things that are short or sleeveless so they are functional. Generally more of a fan of a dress or skirt as she likes to highlight her long legs with the way she dresses and prefers simple displays of elegant jewellery with a quality over quantity approach, enjoying pearls, diamonds and sapphires as her favourite gems. A fan of jeans and turtlenecks, when relaxing at home she will often wear just this and some jeans or shorts as she lets her hair down and wears her glasses, perhaps never looking ‘geekier’ than when she is like this.

Extra: Ear & Tongue Piercing

Personality

Personality:

A girl who seems to thirst for nothing more than understanding and education, Sophie has a great sense of curiosity and desire to learn, whether it be about formalized subjects or the world and people around her. Endlessly curious and excited by things that puzzle her, the lass loves to work out problems and derives great satisfaction from her accomplishments, and seeks to stimulate her imagination at every opportunity she can.

Confident and plenty assertive in fact, Sophie has a frank manner which often leaves little room for interpretation, and can be considered largely simple and honest in how she comports herself. Friendly and social, while she has little trouble engaging others and seems to often enjoy company there are times when she can be a little too forward for some, and might shock people with how readily she seems to emphasize her interests or desires.

Hardly a loner but typically seen as highly self-sufficient, Sophie can tend to show a single mindedness which tends to leave her to pursue her goals alone but doesn't really mind that. Never one who would let the pressures of companionship dominate her viewpoint, she would consider camaraderie to be more a bonus than a necessity to her life, and typically does not wait for others to make up their mind before acting on her own.

A girl who finds herself daunted little by challenges or obstacles, in fact Sophie seems to enjoy new or taxing experiences, since they provide her with the opportunity for greater discovery. Happy to explore a place which someone says is dangerous, she also tends not to judge books by their covers, and finds the process of exploring her own and others interests rather thrilling in fact.

Lacking a little when it comes to romance and affection, while Sophie is certainly friendly to most and seems to have a bit of a playful and frisky spirit in the right circumstance, she is somewhat disjointed because of these aspects. Tending not to be the kind of girl who is interested in coupling up or going on dates with people, she also seems to lag a little when it comes to expression of intimacy as well, and can sometimes seem a little cold because of that. Happy to offer out a hug to those who ask for it, she simply doesn't tend to pick up or act on clues, and overall seems to wield and expect a more direct approach in these manners.

Rarely the sort to judge another for their interest in something and likely to encourage it in most areas, Sophie tends to be easy-going and supportive toward her friends, and largely flexible in her thinking. A girl who views the world through a somewhat scientific lens, she believes nothing is impossible or absolute, and ultimately respects the desires and interests of others so long as they do not impugn on others.

Raised with a strong emphasis on moral responsibility, while Sophie is known to bend rules to suit her aims at times, at her core she maintains a strong sense of ethics in regard to how people should and shouldn't be treated. Hating to see people bullied or otherwise harmed and abused, she would stand up for her fellow man, and believes it better to act upon ones sense of decency than the letter of the law.

Likes:

  • Books: She just can't get over how good it feels to lick those pages.
  • Language: Who doesn't love condemning the ignorant in words they will never understand?

Dislikes:

  • Bullies: They carry a disgusting smell, like a cat shat out onions.
  • Bad Manners: I mean, it's just rude, right?

Motivations:
  • Understanding: An inquisitive and intellectual young woman, Sophie thirsts for discovery and comprehension of the world and people around her.
  • Decency: Raised with a strong moral core, Sophie believes the world should be fair and kind, and does what she can to champion that.

Fears:
  • Incapacity: Prizing her intellect and independence, Sophie's greatest fear would be losing her mind or memory.
  • Loss: Prizing the people she is close to, Sophie would find great anguish in seeing her friends and loved ones be harmed or killed.

History

History:

Born in Caelum to Caelish Parents, Sophie's father was a scholastic mage, while her mother was a mercenary and guild member. The two falling in love over a series of quests they were engaged in together, the geeky patriarch seemed an uncommon contrast to his brash and brave wife, but also had plenty of courage for when the moment called for it. Winning her heart when he refused to abandon her when she had been injured on a mission, the two ultimately settled down together in marriage, and gave birth to a little girl.

Little Sophie seeming to inherit much from each of her parents, while she garnered her gift for intellect from her patriarch, this was tempered by an intrepid she had seemed to inherit from her more outgoing and bold matriarch. For that reason seeming to be an inquisitive little girl who was always out looking for things to challenge and intrigue her, the lass was a bit of a tomboy when she was little, and the top of the class as well.

A dedicated overachiever who tended to be teased for her interest in academia and status as something of a teachers pet, Miss Sequoia was never afraid to express her interest in discovery and doing good work, and hardly seemed to mind much that the other girls seemed to shy away from her for her frank and sometimes awkward manner. More the type to make friends with the boys, she enjoyed many an adventure trailing through woodlands in search of supernatural critters and the sources of superstitions, but also made sure she had her homework done before she did anything.

This dedication she had toward her studies and her gift for magic seeing Sophie gain entrance to a prestigious school of witchcraft and wizardry, the lass seemed to flourish in her new setting where her enterprising and inquisitive spirit would be rewarded, at least for the most part. Certainly not one who could resist a good puzzle and her school providing plenty of those, though she was a straight A student there were times when her intrigue would get the better of her, and earn her some exasperation from her teachers.

Always capable in the classroom but retaining a fondness for adventure, many a late night was spent either in the library or exploring the various peculiarities about the place she found herself in, with her being handed rebukes for breaking curfews or finding her way into restricted areas. The lass determined to solve one or two of the great secrets of the castle and the grounds which surrounded it while she was there, she caused a few headaches for some, but was prized for the gift she was to academia with others.

Graduating this school with distinction as a result even if she did have something of a colourful record, while there were several institutions which offered her positions working in their research divisions or a few alchemical businesses who sought her expertise, ultimately Miss Sequoia opted for a more unusual aim for her career. Enjoying seeking out ruins and lost magic, rather than take up such positions she preferred to work in the field and for that reason instead opted to become something of a drifter.

Saying her goodbyes to her parents with the promise of regular communication, Sophie set out into the world on commissions from collectors and joined efforts of exploration and archaeology. Taking to the high seas and visiting distant lands, she searched for artifacts and runes in the hope of finding lost treasures and ancient magics, and seemed to mature quickly in doing so.

Becoming adept with her magic use as she took to the front lines in clashes with bandits and dark guilds, Sophie aligned herself with guilds and organizations which would support or at the very least not impede her efforts, and would even take to capturing bounties and doing quests in order to pay her way as she went about. Becoming a woman of culture in the process, while not every rumour or clue seemed to lead to a magnificent discovery the girl enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new people, and learning about both as she went along.

Touring the world but finding her attention drawn by the land of Fiore before long because of the rumours of demonic manifestation and dragon attacks in recent years, as the stories of remarkable events seemed to grow so too did Sophie's interest, and belief that the land was becoming a focal point for events which would change the world. Heading there for that reason, she found herself joining the guild of the port town she entered the country through, which assured her of status enough to maintain her stay indefinitely.

This useful when the girl wanted to look into and explore the occurrences of the realm and what had led to them, once more she couldn't help but feel like she was back in school and wrestling with lost secrets. Keeping up with her guild work meanwhile and making the effort to befriend her cohorts as she did so, she was happy to learn that the proud and picturesque pegasi had room for a 'geek' like her, and has increasingly found herself enjoying their ideals and practices as well. In fact, she might very well think that this land is something of a home away from home for her…

I am going to need to request you to remove the titles from your personality paragraphs making it into paragraph format please. I also need you to expand upon your likes and dislikes for me please. (Ex:Books: Likes getting lost in a good page turner once in awhile and finding out if that big tall stranger really is so big and tall~)

I kind of object to both?

First up, they're already paragraphs, with headings. The headings act as a TLDR for people too lazy to actually read a wall of text. In fact I prefer it because it breaks the character down into succinct points rather than having the quirks of their personality be lost in some overblown paragraph?

Futhermore, doesn't it seem counterintuitive to tell me to remove the headings, when you're objecting I'm not using them so much in the next part?

As for the likes and dislikes, isn't that just busywork?
Mostly they're there for flavor because you're never actually going to provide a comprehensive list of everything a character likes or doesn't? No doubt such things will change with the character, so I could literally put she likes 'not being dead' and dislikes 'being dead' and it would be accurate?

Is it really helping anyone's understanding of a girl who's noted to be inquisitive and intellectual to know that she likes books because she likes learning?

Ultimately I'd like to know why both these points are such an obstacle to approval when I could have thrown out the most basic, half assed attempt and been approved?

I have been told to deny for it before, for the formatting of the personality area. Template shows the likes having a fill in after it as a description for the likes and dislikes. I am sorry you feel like this "I could have thrown out the most basic, half assed attempt and been approved?" I am just trying to do as I am told to do, sorry again for the trouble this is causing you, and the inconvenience of having you to do the changes that I have asked of you to do so I may approve you.
