It was a random day in Fiore, and another day that Jikan found herself out and about. On this day she was in the Sieghart Mountains. The terrioty of Paradise dawn. A task had be request by her, and a job was a job. And an opportunity. Coming upon them on her way out, Jikan had Otsukimi to come along as Jikan kept on moving. More opportunity to get money and the guild's name out. And to watch the, at least from her knowledge new, member of Sleeping Calamity. If Otsukimi followed Jikan to the mines to help out she was not sure. She did not look behind her as she moved with Mia.

She just wanted to get something out of the mines, a different ones than the ones she had been to so far. It was in a completely different area and even looked different as well. So she had no idea what was inside of the mine or if there were valuables to be collected. ...at least in a large amount.

Jikan had reached the job site, a mining location within the Sieghart mountains. One of many many many sites in fact. It was a very quiet walk to the location and as Jikan turned her head for the first time towards where she thought she would see Otsukimi, she in fact saw no one there. It seemed the young Sleeping Calamity member was not present, having chosen to not come do this mission with their guild master after all. Perhaps they had other plans or a matter that was holding them up? O well.

Mia just looked up at Jikan with a smirk, finding it all amusing that it only took her friend now to realize that Otsukimi was not with them. It was something Mia had been noticed as the daemon had not actually walked out of the guild building with them. Something about them not feeling so well. Either way, it would just be the two of them; Jikan and Mia. Once again doing a quest together.

Jikan's and Mia's arrival did not go unseen or noticed by the people in the immediate area. The mixed reputation of the Sleeping Calamity guild master had her often than not, not able to go unnoticed when she chose to do a mission or simply head out into a different area. She had gained enough infamy and fame by now that it was known that she was a force to be reckoned with and respected. Privacy was a bit hard, the name of the words "The Amazon" had a connection. Eyes wished to catch a glimpse, some people wanted to speak to her; for whatever reason it may be. Her face was often more than not recognized and information on some of the deeds she had; the good and bad. A situation that likely made it so the people seeing her had no idea how to truly feel about her.

Was she good, was she bad. Was she the type of person to be trusted or, was she to be feared? An unknown unease question, if one had simply thought hard enough though, they would know that it all depended on how they treated her and interacted with her. What one person gave her, was what she gave back. That was simply how The Amazon was for the most part most of the time.

Either way, she was here right now. And the people around her had to act within that understanding. An easy thing, for Jikan moved with Mia behind her. Not paying attention much to the actions of the ones around her. Some looks, some whispers, other just continued or went back to work. Breaking down items and minerals that were outside of the mines. Or moving them into suitable containers and vehicles to be transported.

A few people even took a step forward towards her. An action that was short from a side glance from her.

It was a look that held no intent, no emotion. No care. A look from her eyes with no real meaning beyond that of recognization and examination. Alas, it was enough to make the guards approaching her falter. She moved her eyes away again, removing her abyssal gaze forward once again. Mia continued her walk, pat pat patting behind Jikan as they walked closer to the entrance.

The men that looked at Jikan and took a step forward were frozen, backing off either due to a change of thinking or due to instincts of survival.

It was only due to recognizing him, the owner of the creature, that the guards reluctantly backed off. As much as they may have disliked seeing someone with a bounty on their head walking around, they were unable from preventing Jikan from doing so. Unless a group of fighters came who had good synergy and team work. Or a truly powerful mage or adventure that could match her power. Jikan would be able to move free through the mines as much as she wished to.

She was not exactly fond of this attitude towards her. She was just a person after all. Not every time she walked outside or walked into an interaction with an individual did it mean that bodies were about to hit the floor. Or something was about to be destroyed. Or anything bad. Even if she was fully a bad person in the eyes of the people and community, the day was full of opportunities; vast. Day to day things were just day to day things.

The attention was a give or take, but also a negative she supposed. Her guild association even though darkness wise, it was all in just name. Actions were actions, jobs had to be done. Money earned, goals achieved, responsibilities handled. The start was all that had this label attached to them, just continuing with momentum by reactions to their actions or held beliefs continued with assumptions. It was there, and she had to just have a thick skin and accept it with the bounty on her head. At this point it was just something that was apart of her and a badge of....something.

"Jikan, Jikan Jikan. I think we have to go over there", Mia called out pointing her left paw. The exceed was pointing out to a spot closer by one of the mine entrances. A casual sign up on it detailing that it was an office. Jikan turned her head and followed her friend's gesture. She took in the building appearance as she walked closer. It was a simple brown building, not large nor small. It as not medium either but a bit bigger than something on the small side. A blue roof stood on the top. Jikan stopped in front of the door and peeked in. She saw a man inside and figured he was the one to speak to. With that, she opened the door and entered inside. Once inside she got a look at the man's desk, the fellow had a desk name tag that said Phil.

The man looked up, a pen in his right hand as he was in the middle of writing something. Seeing Jikan and Mia enter the room, he placed the pen down and sat back. Calm but attentive.

"Hello, you put up a quest correct?", Jikan said looking at the man from her spot at the door. From her memory, Phil was the name on the mission request.

"Yes....I am. I take it then that you are here to take up the mission?". He said while looking at Jikan. His hands resting on his desk. His voice cool, soft and firm. Calm. Which was a bit of thankful surprise in Jikan's opinion. It would make communicating with him better.

"Good. I am here to take on your request", Jikan said stepping in now. Mia behind her, the door leading into the building and the man's office still open.

"Ah. Okay then. I take it then that you are ready to head in". The man said swing a little bit side to side in his chair before standing up onto his feet.

"Yes", Jikan said very short. Mia was inside now, walking up to Jikan's side.

"Alright then, head right on in. The path to the mine is right outside, can't miss it", the man continued, taking a sigh before speaking. "Also....there has a development that has changed the mission that you should know about".

"Oh? Well. Carry on this, depending on what it is it may cost you an extra fee", Jikan said with looking at the man, waitin' for him to speak and explain what was going on.

"There are a...rough group of people who are trying to take over this area of the mines. Deciding who can come in, when, how long; with a fee as well. They also like taking a piece of whatever someone find. Not anything new, type of opportunist that come here and there. But they are very very violent".

"So instead of just going in and collection some minerals and metals; the client wants me to help remove these people now?". Jikan said leaning a little bit back.

"Well, yes and no. They want you to make sure they do not harm the other miners and they want you to stop them from doing their plans. They would prefer no violence occurring in the area, could damage the mining spots and bad press. But....you know if you have to do what you have to do, and you have to defend yourself or a civilian. Well. Things happen", the man spoke very calmly and matter of fact. His hands held behind his back as he gave a simple smile to Jikan.

"Okay, that sounds like things I can work with. If I come upon them, well, I'll handle it within the instructions you have given me. But, I'll make sure focus on collecting my required amount of metals and minerals". Jikan said while beginning to turn away and walk out of the door.

"That is fine and well Miss. But, the priorty is actually more towards to protecting the mine and the miners. Business is more of an asset than material collection. Its alright if you do search and find stuff, but, bad press. Well. That hurts money more than missing one day of slow collection", the man took a step forward at seeing Jikan moved. "Oh wait. There is something else I need to tell you".

Hearing this, Jikan stopped her movement, she shifted on her right heel, turning her body back towards Phil. "Yes?", she said wondering what else there could be. Mia turned as well, popping her head back into the room as the exceed had already exited the office building.

"I also have it from a reliable source that this group has made a new development. Instead of just their normal bandit group who, for the most part only have their words and muscle that can work because of their size ganging up on people. They now have a few mercenary adventures who know what they are doing and.... a mage. One to act as a final push if anyone gives trouble. So do keep an eye out, more and more of the miners are becoming tired, fighting back and stuff. If they meet that group, things can get very very bad".

With the man's words a short light flickered in Jikan's eyes. Things were more interesting this time than she had thought. "Oh? More people who actually have some muscle? Hmmmmm", she said while turning back around. A bit happy about. "That is fine. If it comes to it I will just take care of the mercenaries and the mage if they show up in the area. And, don't worry. I'll make sure to keep the areas of the mine and the people safe".

"Good good. Glad to here that we have an understanding. Of course, there will be an extra payment if you have to deal with them today", the man said giving a slight bow of gratitude.

"Ah yes about that", Jikan spoke as she continued to walk. "Let's talk about the rewards before this all truly begins. Given that I have to deal with adventurers and other mages most likely, as well as protect your miners in addition to the site while still doing my job. I think a boost is in order. Lets say..... 60 percent more". Jikan turned around to see the man's reaction.

The man met Jikan's gaze, his arms still held behind his back with a calm expression in his face. Fingers interlocked, he spoke, "very well. I believe we can work with that cost. If. You. Come across the group and ensure conditions are met".

It sounds simple enough to Jikan. Not bothering to say another word, the red headed beauty turned back towards the door. Walking out with a short nod of her head signifying that she understood. Her actions soft and quiet as she took her steps out. A moment of silence that ended after Jikan closed the door after her.

With the finer details settled, Jikan stood outside; her feet moving in light steps as she made her way alongside Mia, intending to head over to the mines immediately. Wanting to get the party started and resolve this exciting task at hand within the mines. She was feeling neutral about working in the mines again at first, but now, she was in a bit of a good mood. The possibilities that could be for her as she and Mia went into the depths of the mine.
