Bucket

General

Name: Bucket

Age: 5/21/X752 - 40 Years Old.

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Pansexual

Ethnicity, Father: Encan

Ethnicity, Mother: Encan

Class: Berserker

Race: Human

Rank: D-rank

Guild: Guildless

Tattoo: Lower Back

Face: Bucket - My OC

Appearance

Height: 6'7.
Weight: 313 Lbs.

Hair: Bald

Eyes: Jet Black

Overall: The physical embodiment of Bergmann's rule, the aged Encan male is the very figure of bulk and power. Board shouldered, wide hipped and with long legs, Bucket's body is perfectly adapted for the cold environment in which he was raised - the body hair, the light layer of body-fat over his skin, the thick muscles, etc. Most importantly, however, his head - cursed as a punishment towards his parents for heresy - is shaped like the typical chum bucket a fisherman would carry to work. Even though it looks like it merely has a carved set of eyes and a jagged, jack'o'lantern mouth, they are fully able to move and emote. The eyes have an impenetrable darkness behind them that light seems to be unable to illuminate, while his mouth hides several black tendrils he uses as a tongue.

Extra: Scars litter his whole body, from various sources, though most of them are clearly caused by attacks from wild beasts and monsters.

Personality

Personality: A deep-seated resentment towards the higher powers, their followers and those who oppose them, hidden by layers upon layers of irony, snark, sarcasm and some genuine kindness. Bucket's goals define his very personality as one that aims to do nothing but to not just oppose the gods and demons, but to erase them entirely, to usurp their powers and seclude himself, so that their powers may never be abused again. Hence, his likes and dislikes, his fears and nightmares, all end up connecting back to the events that so traumatized him so many years ago.

Likes:
  • Fights: The only moments of joy during his time enslaved by the priests was the times when he fought others to protect the priests or punish the "impure". Though he did not know why he fought or was even capable of understanding them or the consequences, at a deep, personal and primal level, his body and mind thoroughly enjoyed and loved the act of violence. Regaining his will has not changed this.

  • Naps: Freedom has given him the chance to do so many new things, the biggest one being the ability to sleep whenever he so desires. No longer having to serve others and their orders to stand guard during the night has not only given him the ability to fix his sleep schedule, it also introduced him to the joy of naps. Whenever there's free time, it's likely he'll be sound asleep.

  • Nuts: Any and all types of dry fruit that counts as nuts are like gold to this man. Crunchy, tasty and sometimes even salty when prepared as such, he'll often try to find a way to acquire as many bags of nuts as he can, just so he can munch on them whenever he feels the craving.

  • Freedom: Knowing what a lack of freedom feels like and what it can do to a person, freedom is a currency most valuable for him. As such, it's very possible to break his thoughts and actions away from his ultimate goal in favor of freedom. It's also very easy to anger him by insulting or threatening his or another's freedoms.

  • Children: Having his childhood ripped from him gave him appreciation for children in general. Their innocence, their energy and their positive outlook on life is something most precious for the aged man, their crazy stories and vivid imagination is a source of endless entertainment. As such, he wishes to protect them whenever he can and, though he doesn't say it, he also wishes to be a father one day.

  • Sports: Either because of a difficult childhood or the rest of his life enslaved, Bucket never really had the chance to spend his energy and time doing something that is actually fun instead of boring and/or violent. Now that he's free, he finds himself deeply enjoying sports and other harmless physical activities.

Dislikes:
  • Superiors: No gods, no masters. Having a patriarch in his family did nothing but get his family in trouble and Bucket enslaved. Having a master led him to thirty one years of slavery. As such, he tends to really despise anyone who even displays superiority and does not take well at all to orders. He's even very much capable of becoming violent if someone insists on giving him said orders.

  • Needless Violence: A guilt that constantly eats at him, Bucket has come to hate needless violence and instead prefers that people at least attempt to solve things with proper communication and mutual understanding, instead of resorting to violence. That is not to say that he hates violence in general - he relishes in it, though in sensible (by his standards) moderation.

  • Fish: It reminds him of his lost childhood. Nothing against fish or its taste, the memories associated with his maritime-related upbringing are just too painful for him to bear and he does his best to avoid it.

  • Religion: An avid hater of all organized and disorganized religion, even though he very much believes in gods, Bucket will do everything to avoid religious people like priests, preachers, normal people who talk too much about it, etc.

Motivations:
  • Power: To have power means to be free. To be free means that he'll never again be a slave. With power, he may finally seal away the power and influence of the gods and the demons who oppose them and, finally, free the world of their corrupting presence, so that none may suffer at the hands of religion ever again.

  • Resentment: The much less altruistic side of his goal, the native Encan man who was once a slave wishes to drag all celestial and hellish beings to his level, so that he may slaughter them like pigs - all to finally calm his wounded heart and soul.

Fears:
  • The Ocean: As he was taken to the ocean, as he saw the land he was raised in slowly become so small he could no longer see it, the first of many panic attacks hit him like a meteor. As such, seeing the ocean triggers the worst memories in him, constantly fearing that he'll once again be enslaved and taken away to a fate unknown.

  • Death: Whenever a loss is on the horizon, the man becomes more and more anxious. A loss can always mean his death and subsequent failing of his goals that he deems too important to fail at. Hence, to him, losing or winning should never come at the cost of his own life, not before every god and every demon are dead and buried.

Magic

Magic Name: Kampf Maschine

Magic Element: Arcane

Magic Enhancement: Fast Cast Type: Buffing

Magic Description: A deceptively basic magic, it's meant to elevate even weak nobodies into true 'fighting machines' that can stand up to opponents much greater than them: following a phylosophy that defense against someone much grander than themselves to be tantamount to suicide, it instead focuses on self-buffing and offensive attacks mixed in in a lightning-fast, cruel, brutal mode of combat.

History

History: Raised in the cold, harsh winterlands of the island of Enca, a nameless boy lived with his impoverished family: parents and two brothers. Fishermen by trade, since he was at the ripe age of six, the child found himself constantly helping out anywhere and everywhere he could to sustain themselves, constantly struggling to stave off the cold, the wildlife and sometimes even other fishermen. Such a life was difficult and not always peaceful, though struggle forced the family to stick together.

Perhaps, they stuck together too much. Such self reliance and struggle often leads one closer or away from the gods and, when wandering, unidentified preachers introduced themselves to the family, only to hear a crude, rude dismissal from the patriarch that he did not believe in gods, the situation soured rapidly. They were attacked, though they didn't die. Not even captured. Instead, leaving their youngest and slowest behind, the family ran away as far as they could.

Fate wasn't kind to that nameless child. Tortured in every which way they could think of, the nameless child was eventually broken into a mere servant, a walking shell of who he was, now as a simple pack mule for the preachers and their mission - which took him away from his homeland, through the known world. He was merely nine at the time.

At forty, he'd escape. A broken will can mend itself given time and, in his advanced age, he found himself slowly regaining the passion that was once lost, the envy bubbling in his heart at the freedom and joy that other people took for granted. The simple freedom to think and make their own decisions drove him to madness, madness enough to lose himself in his hatred and run away.

Cursed and branded as he ran, that shameful visage of a bucket for a head would get him ignored and shoved aside as a mere madman, a fool who would wear something so ridiculous upon his head - dregs of society that shouldn't even be looked at.

The dreg, though, continues to harbor endless resentment towards the priests who'd do it to him, the "god" who would teach them such methods and the "demons" who continue to give them justification.

The dreg wants to kill them all. The dreg who accepted a new name: Bucket.
