Toge had gotten a letter from someone he didn’t think he would hear from in a while. It would seem like Elaine was back and she decided that she wanted to see Mark. He didn’t think she wanted to see him after she had given back the item that she told him to deliver. Still, he was fine with the drama because he knew that she was married. Still, it would seem like she didn’t want to be seen or disturbed by anybody, so he was going to have to find the best route to get to Mark’s house. It was a dark time for this, and he would be roaming the streets of Dahlia. They were abandoned, but he wouldn’t know who was lingering in the alleys.

His first step throughout all of this was finding the right path to take for Elaine. It was something he would do for a few hours until he would find one that she would be happy with.

Once he had done that, Toge would head over to Elaine’s house. He had been there several time before and this time was no different. When he got there, the maid wouldn’t be there, which surprised him, but he figured she didn’t even want her to know. He would enter the house without knocking as the door was unlocked and he would make his way to Elaine’s room. She would be surprised that he had arrived but knew that he would come.

“I have the perfect route for you. Nobody will know where you went or would be able to follow us. I just need you to be disguised just in case of any random variables.” He said to her.

She would nod when she heard this and she would put some stuff on, so it would make it hard for anybody to recognize that it was her. Still, now that it was done, they were ready to be on their way.

Toge and Elaine would leave her home, and they would start traversing through the night. Mark already knew where to meet them and it was because Toge had told him where to go prior. This was good, and the path that he had chosen was long, but it was good enough that they weren’t bumping into anybody. He was proud of his work, and it would seem like she was happy to have hired him for the job. The paladin just wanted to see them together and ruin the life of the old man she was with. It might end up with him catching a heart attack, but it didn’t bother him at all.

They were getting closer to their destination and soon enough they would see someone waiting for them at the meeting point. This was good as he knew it was Mark. When they got there, he would go on ahead to make sure it was the man.

When he got close to the person he would sigh with relief as it was the person, he was hoping it would be. He would look over to Elaine and he would nudge her to come over to him. She would do exactly as he instructed, and the two of them would finally be with each other. He would look at the two of them with a smirk on his face.

“I’ll leave you two here alone. Nobody will come to bother you. I will make sure of that, but please don’t do anything weird because I will be close enough to hear you two if you need something from me.” He would explain to them.

Elaine and Mark would hear what he had to say, and they would not him as they understood him. They were both embarrassed though because they knew what he was talking about. Toge would walk away, and he would be on guard with Luci the demon on his shoulder.

Toge would wait off in the distance as he was relaxing. Luci was on his shoulder as he figured he would speak to his friend while they waited.

“You might get in trouble for this, or you might get a lot of jewels for this. Only time will tell I guess.” He said to his friend with a smirk on his face.

“I mean I don’t mind either, but the jewel would be better. I don’t mind taking someone out if they come after me that’s for sure.” He said as if he was welcoming it.

It wouldn’t take long, but he would see someone walking toward them. It was a Rune Knight and it would seem like she spotted him. She would approach him, and Luci would disappear into the dark. When she got to him, Toge would smile at her.

“What are you doing here at night?” She would ask him.

Toge would smile at her because he had to pretend to be someone he wasn’t. Still, he was getting paid for this.

“I’m just waiting for my brother. He told me to wait here, so it was all I’m doing. You can check me, but I don’t have anything that would pose a threat to anybody.” He would say this to her as she looked at him.

She would check him and when she saw that he was telling the truth about him not being a threat she would be on her way. He would stay there with Luci as they continued to talk for hours. After a bit, he would hear his name from the distance, which meant that they were done with their talk and meeting. This was good because it meant he was going to get paid soon. He would walk toward them, and Elaine was ready to leave back to her house.

They would say their goodbyes to each other, and Toge would take her through the same path from earlier. It wouldn’t take long, but they would make it back to her house without anybody noticing. She would look at Toge and she would hand him his reward. He would take the money without hesitation, and he would smile at her.

“Thank you for the reward. I hope you end up where you want to be Elaine. If you need anything from me in the future, do not be afraid to send me a letter as you did. I will be more than happy to help for the right price.” He said to her with a smirk on his face.

She would nod to him as she didn’t want to say anything, but she knew how to contact him if she needed him. She would enter her home without anybody noticing, and Toge would be on his way back home.
