"What do you mean you won't serve me!?!" The feline woman hissed as she slammed her fists on the bar in anger.

"Yer've been 'ere every night this past week and not once 'ave yer paid yer bloody tab. Eever bring me what yer owe or get out." The barkeep raised his voice, slamming both his hands on the bar in retaliation. His face glowered, daring her to fight him on this.

"I told you I would be good for it after my next job, didn't I?" She growled, her nails scratching the wooden bar top as she pulled her hands into fists.

"Yer words are worf naugh' ta meh when yer 'ave yet to even take one of the bloody quests on the board back there since yer arrived." He tapped the bar with a finger, pressing his point, that he wasn't going to trust empty promises.

"Tch." Realising she wasn't going to get anywhere with this, the woman finally decided to back off, stepping away from the bar as she prepared to storm out of the tavern.

Baska's pub was cool at the very least, but in terms of drinks in comparison to the pub in Oak city? Puleeaase. The large mug of beer had still been filled to the brim with what tasted like cheap ale. After the first sip, the panther knew this just wasn't for him, nor should it have been for anyone for that matter. Honestly it was a lot closer in taste to piss if he had to guess. Unsatisfied, he glared at the liquid in the cup. The tension between the rogue prince and the brownish liquid was high. Any second now one of them would swing on the other - *Boom* Immediately Khalfani turned his head to the right as tensions were rising between two others. This seemed a lot serious though.

Khal raised an eyebrow in silence and watched femme with cat ears argue with the bartender. It was kinda funny actually. She was upset because the man serving the drinks wouldn't serve her and the tender was frustrated because she hadn't paid him back. The Dragon Slayer chuckled before letting out a long dramatic sigh. After the two had just finished debating, he figured it was time to step in.

"Alriiiight, alriiiight." he said coldly as he began fishing in his leather black jacket for jewels. Quickly he pulled out a large stack before sliding nearly half of it over to the barkeeper. With a light expression, he glanced over to the Nekomata and nodded politely.

"This should cover her debt and about a months worth of daily drinks for our friend here..." The Morningstar said coldly. The bartender was too stunned to speak. "And your tips. Now please get them somethin' to drink." He slid back in his chair.

The young woman sent the stranger a quizzical look as he approached the bar.  Curious to see what he was going to do, she stopped herself from leaving, her ears pricking up as she saw him pull a large stack of cash out. His words left her speechless, did he seriously just pay for her and not just one or two, but enough to last her at least a month?

As thankful as she was for the incredibly generous gesture, she couldn't help but be suspicious as her golden eyes shifted over the male's form as he nodded in her direction. From her experience, people didn't just throw jewels away like that, not without wanting something in return. She'd blink slowly, eyes glancing over towards the barkeep as she smirked. Well, she wasn't going to say no to a free drink. Clearly irritated that he had to serve her, but unable to refuse such a large sum of money, the barkeep grunted as he pulled out a pint of ale for the lass.

"Thank you, so kind of you." Haru smiled deviously at the keeper, causing him to grunt again as he mumbled something under his breath. Drink now in hand, she had to find out what was up with this guy. At the very least he was wealthy enough to pique her interest. Sidling up to the chair opposite the stranger she'd take a seat, taking a sip of the bitter beverage before plopping it down at his table.

"So, pray tell," she purred, leaning back on her chair, folding her arms and legs while her golden, calculating eyes stared towards the male's own, "What exactly did I do to deserve the humble generosity of a handsome stranger such as yourself?"

Just like that, the woman was covered for drinks at the Boar Hat Pub. The cat in the hat smirked evilly as the man was basically forced to pour her a drink. Money talked, so it made no sense for him to decline her if he was benefitting greatly from it. This neko was a character for sure. It was kinda refreshing for the young Panther to see. After all, he had spent most of his days hunting, questing, and training. All in all, his life was not as calm as he would have liked it to be. Sometimes he even forgot that he was just a man and he didn't need to work so hard. However, that's where this stack of money came from. Work, work, work. After the woman had received her drink, Khal was asked his motive behind gifting her with a months worths of drinks throwing in that he was handsome. To be fair, the she was quite a pretty little thing herself. It was simple really though. He turned towards her and rubbed his fingers through his locks.

"Well, you seemed real upset and I did't want you to bite the mans face off or sum'n. They'll always look for a reason to criminalize folks like us. Just lookin' out" Khalfani shrugged. "Money's meant to spent anyway." He finally said. "I will say though, you shouldn't make promises you can't keep." He glanced over at the bartender who glanced back before turning away.

The neko woman continued to stare him down suspiciously, trying to get a good read on him as she digested his words. While he seemed genuine, she couldn't be sure if he was speaking the truth or was planning to blackmail her later down the line. Strangers don't just help another out for nothing where she came from, and she had her doubts that it would be any different anywhere else.

"I'll have you know, I am a woman of my word. I actually had plans to make some cash and would have repaid my debt within the week." The young woman claimed with a huffed as she finally replied. Her honey-hued eyes narrowed and her eyebrows furrowed into a scowl. His words had insulted her pride, "And now it would appear that I am in your debt, so what do you want from me?" Her previously friendly demeanour dropped completely. Tapping a finger on her folded arm, she'd impatiently wait for his response.

Khalfani chuckled as the woman defended herself. He wasn't laughing because he didn't believe her, he was laughing because she was...well...funny. The panther forced himself to take a sip of the ale in his cup, the same one that he was beefing with just moments before. This was probably as good as it would get in Boar hat. The rumors were not true. This place was overrated, and boring really. There had only like twenty people here. Baska city though was a calmer place anyway, so to expect anything more would be silly. The girl was still adamant on the idea that the sorcerer had actually wanted anything. He couldn't blame her. if Khal was in her shoes he would ave been just as skeptical. In this world, everybody used people to get something, nobody just did random favors. However, that's what separated the rogue Prince from the rest as the girl would soon realize.

"Alright you got me..." he lifted his hands as if admitting defeat. "I want you to be my friend." He said with a slight smile. A rare sight. "I think that's a reasonable trade-off, dontchu think?" He raised an eyebrow

Either he was an exceptionally talented actor, or the man before her was genuine. The demi-human was fairly talented at reading people and their small changes in body language, but nothing from him set off any of the usual alarms. Well, other than throwing large sums of jewels around, but perhaps he was just so wealthy that what seemed like a small fortune to her, was mere chump change for him. In which case she may have just hit the jackpot. She visibly relaxed a little, her tail no longer twitching nervously. Unfolding her arms, she reached for her drink and took a small sip.

"Well, it's a good thing you paid so much upfront then. My friendship services are quite expensive." She declared with a coy smile, "So tell me, what should I call my new friend?" she tilted her head slightly out of curiosity, ears flicking forward so as not to miss anything he might mutter. While her guard was not yet completely down, she figured she would get no where if she were to remain prickly.

The panther paused for a second. Did she say that her friendship was expensive? Well then, that could only mean one thing. The rogue prince began digging in his pockets, starting with his jacket pulling out two stacks of jewels. Then he dug in his jeans and pulled out another two stacks from each pocket. With a the most nonchalant expression he stamped the money on the table, the bartenders eyes widening in complete shock. Khalfani had decided that he would no longer identify as the Prince of Desierto so his money didn't come from his royal house. Nor did it come from his father, Odin. No. This was hard earned money from doing the dirty work and now...it all belonged to his new acquaintance. "Is this enough?" He genuinely asked. "I'd say you're worth way more than this, but it's all I have." he smiled warmly. "Khalfani. What do I call you?" Money wasn't a necessity if you didn't have the privilege of being able to work. Khal had working legs, hands, a healthy body and a brain. There was no need for him to have this all to himself.

Haru blinked, once, then twice, her golden orbs glued to the stacks of jewels placed before her in complete bewilderment. How did he earn all this money? Why did he have so much of it on him? Why was he in such a second-rate pub when he could have been living it up in the capital? So many questions raced through the neko's mind.

It was beginning to dawn on her that he truly had just been doing her a no-strings-attached favour by paying for her drinks. Just who was this man sitting across from her? Running a hand through her silver bangs, the whole ordeal had left her a little speechless. She took a few more minutes to completely process what was happening, before bursting out in laughter.

"Hahaha! I figured you were wealthy, but I didn't actually think you'd go to this extent." Her drink spilt a little as she shook from laughing so hard, "Names Haru, and keep your money." She'd wave him off, "As much as I'd love to accept, I'd feel as if my life belonged to you, and I'm not so keen on living like that again." she admitted with a shrug, "However, we can still be friends." she smiled with a wink, before taking another sip of her drink. She could feel herself warming up to him already. He was certainly an interesting character, to say the least, and as tempted as she was to accept and run off with his money, it just didn't sit right with her.

Khalfani †
The Bartender had completely stopped what he was doing, now fully intrigued by the conversation between the two feline humanoids. Haru was her name and she was pretty cool. Cool enough for Khalfani to actually give her the hundreds of thousands of jewels he made just from today alone. Her comment about him being wealthy though was one that nearly struck a cord. He was far from that. Sure his grandfather was literally the Pharaoh of Desierto and his father was a famous Wizard Lord, the panther had rejected it all. He had spent his entire life in poverty up until about a year ago and it just wasn't who he was. It was like bringing a cat to a kennel. He just didn't belong in the royal family. As Haru laughed her drink spilled over but not enough to make a mess.

The catwoman kindly rejected the money but now he didn't even want it. The rogue prince couldn't blame his new friend though, often times this amount of money would leave you feeling indebted to someone even when you weren't. This bartender though...now that was a different story.

"Oh. Alright then, if you insist..." he said before turning to the man behind the counter and sliding all of the money to him. Just like that, Khalfani was broke again. "All yours, boss. Make that worth the next four months." He nodded before turning back to Haru.

"I'm curious, where are you from? You don't strike me as a Baskan." He inquired. "The people here don't stand out much."

"Well, that was a little dramatic." Haru chuckled as she watched all those jewels vanish from her grasp. On the one hand, Haru was grateful she'd pretty much have as many drinks as she wanted for a while. On the other, knowing that he'd paid for it all still left her feeling like she owed him despite not accepting his money directly. His question left her feeling a little nervous, she preferred not to divulge too much information about herself to those she only just met, but the neko didn't feel that ignoring this man was a smart move.

"Well you're right about that, I'm not from Baska. I was raised on the eastern border." She responded, skirting around the question, rather than giving him a definitive answer, "What about yourself?" She'd lean back to get a better look at him, tilting her head a little out of curiosity, "I'd say you stand out even more than I do." She hummed, trying to come up with a guess, but due to her lack of knowledge when it came to the world around her, she couldn't even make an educated guess.

Oh? Khalfani knew when someone was trying to shy away from something when he seen it. He had been thrown into the world of politics, protecting Kings, queens, lords and nobles for the last year before deciding to live for himself. However, he wouldn't press on. He respected privacy and Haru hadn't known much about him. It was the safest thing anyone could do, especially in Fiore. Keep your business to yourself. The panther nodded. The eastern border could mean a number of things. "I see. Long way from home then, best be careful." He'd warn, assuming that she meant the eastern border of the entire country. The dragon slayer would take another sip of his ale, scrunching his face again at the taste before sliding it over to the bartender. He was officially done with that garbage juice. "Born in Desierto, grew up as a slave in Stella." A simple shrug would do the trick. Of course he wanted to at least be a little more transparent than Haru had been. Maybe that would get her to open up. "Raised in Fiore. I'm from many places." The sorcerer said. "Have you come to like this city?"

"Quite picky for someone that grew up as a slave now arent we?" She noted, a small smirk of amusement playing on her lips as her amber orbs watched as he slid the drink away, clearly disgusted by the beverage.

Evidently, he was used to the finer things despite his upbringing, meaning he had most likely found a way to claw himself up the ladder. A man with motivation and drive for sure and yet, he still threw away jewels like they meant nothing to him. The more he opened up to her the more he seemed to become a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

"I suppose this place is alright, it's got a nice, almost too polite, fighting scene." She paused, "Maybe it's just that the people seem less inclined to beat you bloody." She shrugged with a small chuckle. She'd lean back thinking for a moment about where he said he was from.

"And I don't believe I've heard much about Desertio, or Stella for that matter. But I suppose living under a rock most of your life does tend to have that effect." She mused more to herself than directed towards Khalfani, the only country other than Fiore she even knew remotely anything about was Joya, and that was all second-hand knowledge from her mother.

"As I should be." he chuckled at Haru's comment. Years ago he may have been offended by anyone joking about such a thing, but he recognized his past as nothing more than a story about a person who he no longer was. The nekomata was fun to talk to. Mature, she spoke well, and she was easy-going from as far he could tell. She went on to say that the city was alright. Shit, that was a better review than Khalfani would have given. Baska city was the home of the farmers, the common folk who just wanted to live the way they wanted to live. They were just so boring. "Yeah, I never understood it much. You'd think a fight would e more entertaining when there's broken bones involved. Guess the people here are simple folk. I appreciate that aspect of this city." He shrugged. "Oh trust me. If you think this country's shit, don't expect much from the rest of em. Desierto is an entirely different scenery. It's beautiful but...it's ruled by a Pharaoh. Nothing good comes from monarchy. Stella is just...a shit hole really." The sorcerer paused for a moment. "Damn, do you actually live under a rock?" he chuckled.

Her silver locks bobbed up and down as she nodded in agreement with his stance on the fight scene in Baska. She couldn't quite place her finger on why, but the feeling she got when she had participated was nowhere near as frightening as the world she'd grown up in.

Her honey-hued eyes shifted down towards her beverage as he spoke of Desierto. She didn't really understand his issue with the monarchy specifically, but she wasn't about to call him up on it. After all, the demi-human knew little of politics, one of her few shortcomings. Her mother had taught her a lot but even those lessons were limited by her mother's own knowledge. She found herself smirking however as he asked his question.

"Close enough to one." Haru shrugged, chuckling a little, the analogy wasn't far off in her honest opinion, "Well, at least I used to, now it's a big boulder instead." She snickered, taking another swig of her drink. She of course referred to the town's giant rock used for the local tournament fights. "A slight upgrade." she winked, chuckling to herself. Even if she didn't really have a place to call home, anything was better than going back to her life in Hosenka.

Unbelievable. Absolutely unacceptable, Khalfani thought as he listened to his new friend. From the sound of things she didn't exactly have a place to stay. The panther had been teasing at first, but a new situation dawned on him. Although Haru didn't seem too bothered by the idea, The panther couldn't pretend like he wasn't concerned. "Oh? I hadn't realized that was the case. You seem a lot happier than folks in better circumstances." He said plainly. Then he shook his head, refusing to accept his acquaintances truth. It was moments like this, for people like Haru and himself, that Khal had created Paradise Dawn. "Hm..." Khalfani glared forward, blanking out for a moment as an idea popped into mind. Suddenly he turned to Haru. "Can I tell you a secret?" he leaned over to whisper, with a lit up expression. He was obviously excited "But you can't tell anyone yet. Khal snickered as if he had some diabolical plan. The truth is though, it would change the world.

Haru found herself unintentionally tilting her head in thought. Did she seem happy to him? Well, she supposed she had been laughing quite a bit. It had been a while since she'd had this much fun talking to someone. Plus she had a drink in her hand. Yes, she probably did seem fairly happy. It just wasn't the word she'd use, 'content' seemed a better fit. The simplest things were enough to get her through even the roughest of days. The male's suddenly eager and excited demeanour caught her a little off-guard, but the promise of confidential information drew her in.

"A secret?" The neko whispered back, her head tilting to the other side as her ears perked up, listening intently, "Of course, I couldn't dare betray the trust of my newly established benefactor." she winked, her smile beaming and full of confidence as her tail twitched with anticipation. She had zero clue what was going on, but his excitement over the matter was most assuredly rubbing off on her.

The Black Panther smirked. The secret that was to come really wasn't a secret at all, but he was excited about it in Secret at least. Everyone he had spoke to to make this dream of his come into reality had been on board as sponsors in a sense, though Ragnar and Esperia had declined respectfully. As much as he wanted them both to be apart of this, Khalfani was happy with the small amount of "Founders" he had. "I'm starting a new guild in the North." he said before pulling himself back from his chair, smiling at Haru. "You're like the third person I told." He turned to order another drink. For what? Instinct, because really he had no intentions to actually consume this crap of alcohol. "And there's a nice, warm home with your name on it if you come along." He shrugged, expecting rejection for whatever reason. The Bartender began making Khal's drink, pouring the brownish liquid in a large mug from the tap. Haru would likely have more questions if she was interested and the dragon slayer would be ready to answer every single one of them without problem. Shit, maybe she could feel the vibes and just needed a place to call her own she really wouldn't give a shit.

Her honey-hued eyes flickered up in thought momentarily. A guild? Her? She hadn't really thought about it before, but now she was being asked to join one? It was tempting, there was just one small thing holding her back from accepting his proposal immediately. She brought her eyes back to his.

"Are you sure you want someone as talentless as me? I can't even use magic." The neko figured it would be best to be forthright on the matter as if he was going to take her in, he needed to understand she had very few skills other than her ability to act and speak in a mature fashion. Her best asset was communication.

"I'm good at taking a punch, that's all I've really got going for me." she snickered, as she addressed her one physical talent. Well, less of a talent and more of something that had grown over her time in the fighting ring. Still, being able to deal with excruciating amounts of pain and shirk them off like it was nothing was useful at times.

"Magic? Everyone uses magic these days. I think the fact that you don't is what makes you special. I know a lion heart when I see one." He smiled warmly with a shrug. The slayer meant every word. Haru was indeed special. She was a survivor, that much was clear just from looking in her eyes. There was nothing weak about the lively nekomata. It was disappointing that she seemed to be a little discouraged by her lack of magical capabilities but Khalfani had been trained to kill by someone who was far more powerful than most of the mages in the world, and that person was in fact not a mage.

"Besides, magic doesn't make you powerful. I have no doubt you'll be capable of become stronger without it. Some of the strongest people in the world are adventurers, ya know. With tools and weapons that allow you to use magic, trust me...you'll manage just fine. I'll help you." He sipped his drink. "That's what makes Paradise Dawn so different. It doesn't matter how strong you are, all that matters is your courage."

The silver maned feline chuckled a little, tilitng her head in thought as she contemplated her options. Either she agreed to join him with this new guild in the north, or she'd have to admit to being a coward. Something she certainly didn't feel she was and even if she had been her pride could only take so much bruising. Truth be told she'd been contemplating joining a guild as it would increase her job opportunities and therefore her income. However, due to her lack of skills she'd thought none would take her.

"You talk a big game. You've barely a handful of members and yet you seem so confident it will all work out." She mused, lifting her mug of ale to her lips, "But you have successfully piqued my interest." she shrugged with a smile, "However, I've never been to the North before, so I suppose I'll be requiring directions for this guild of yours if I'm going to join." She shot him her biggest smile, if nothing else it would definitely make her life much less of a struggle. He had already displayed the kind of wealth one could achieve in his line of work.

Khalfani chuckled. He did talk a big game, but only because he knew that anything he did he'd ultimately excel it, cockiness aside. Still, she brought up a good point. Would the other folks show up? The panther had sent out letters to specific individuals that he wanted to help lead and he already had a good amount of other folks working on the creation of the guild hall. If he was right, then the building was done and the members were already settled in. All that was left was for him to get there- after he turned himself in to the "Authorities" first. Khal had plans for the North of Fiore and in order for it to become a liberated zone, he'd have to clear the little bounty he had.

In any case, Haru was interested. With a widened smile he nodded. Having someone with such a vibrant spirit would ultimately bring the guild the life it needed. Really, the rogue prince was excited. "What can I say? I'm a confident man. I'm sure that once you see what we've built, you'll never leave." he chuckled before continuing. "Seighart Mountains. You travel north from here and you'll enter the city, continue north from there and you can't miss it. It rests atop two mountains." With that he stood up and nodded towards the bar tender. Then the panther turned towards Haru placing his hand on her shoulder. "I'm expecting to see you at our Grand day, this day next week. I have some business to take care of until then. Stay alive in the meantime, Haru." He said with a nod of confirmation before leaving the establishment. Now, it's time to turn himself in.

His instructions were quite simplistic, but she supposed that if she did get lost the was always the option to ask for directions from others. Most people were more than willing to help those in need, so anyone she happened to meet along the way could be beneficial. He had given her a deadline of a week to arrive. She wasn't too sure how long the travel would take all up, but he was already leaving before she could ask. Well, as long as she left within the next couple of days it shouldn't take her too long. Unfortunately for the broke feline, taking the train would be out of the question, which meant a long walk, or catching a ride on a cart heading that way were her only real options.

Haru was still unsure about her ability to be useful to a guild. She'd continue sipping away on her ale, ordering another couple rounds for herself as she contemplated her next move. It would be best if she managed to get her hands on some weaponry before she met the fellow feline next.
