Kaito

Kai is greeted as he walks just outside of the building he always has to appear at and he wonders what is going on he is lead into a carriage and is taken off two pretty big dudes are staring at him and he tilts his head looking at them and they look a bit scared of him, Kai makes a hissing noise at them. He figures if he is gonna be stronger he has to act a bit tougher and more stand offish so that they stay away from him as he thinks he can feel his curse growing in power as he gets stronger as well. They start talking and one of them cracks and starts taking about how they need him for help getting some people of a near by cave but their is a monster guarding the area the people are being held against their wills at in cells.

Kai wonders why this is a solo mission though he is never really solo as Revy is with him, but she is hiding in his cloak in case she needs to make a move on these guys. He wonders who could have been taken that, they would want to hide it or maybe some rumor had gotten him in this trouble or maybe it was another trap, because he knows he just probably pissed off a power enough man to set him up for death. Kai nods to accept the mission of killing the creature and rescuing the trapped people. They look relived and tell the driver to go faster and not waste a second, Kai keeps his wits about him as this could be the day and place he dies he just hopes that Revy will live to tell his story to anyone that needs it though he knows she would be heart broken.

He looks out the window and he sees a cave coming into view and he reaches in and he gently pets Revy's head cause he can feel her shaking a little figuring she was scared of the thought of this monster with long claws and fangs that could maybe hunt and kill them or if he was lost and she lived. He figures she might be able to feel his own worry he starts steeling his heart and his nerves as they come to a stop and he hops out and places Revy down, who flies around to scout for anything around the caver entrance for any visible traps that kai might need a heads up about before getting closer. She sees nothing and gives Kai the sign to go ahead and walk in and starts flying down to meet him before he goes in so she is by his side and not in the way in case of anyone else that might be in there that they weren't told about.

The cave is dark so he has Revy use her little head lamp to help them see a bit though the head lamp isn't strong. Kai could use his thermal vision to see the way but he knows he needs to conserve his magic for the monster they will encounter later and he doesn't know if he is gonna need every ounce of it or if it is just gonna be a simple out smart and trick type of fight the way they spoke about the monster it was huge and scary but it didn't have great detail in their telling and Kai is thinking what creatures he knows of that fit that. He is drawing a blank on a creature that fully fits that, but he knows he is gonna have to learn what it is and why it is here. If it is innocent he isn't looking to kill it, but free it if it will go.

Revy sees some shining ahead of them but it is the glint of discarded cross bows and arrows and bolts that look like they were dropped in a rush and not a long time ago cause they look like they are brand new, he is guessing those guys had tried to come in to get the creature and the people but failed and ended up running away in the mean time to regroup and find a sucker to come and free the people for them. Kai gets closer and he can hear people talking and he goes around the way and he sees the cells with people but not the animal they spoke out so he figures the creature must be out hunting or is somewhere waiting to ambush them as they walk in, Kai signals Revy to wait then he goes out and a blinding light appears and the beast appears it looks like a giant liger made of gems from the walls.

He sees the broken arrows and bolts around the ground so he guesses it has very thick skin. Revy goes to move to get out to Kai who signals her to stay put. He runs his hand down his arm and runs around it a little and watches how it moves as it lunges and strikes at him, he doesn't draw his weapon knowing he has to find its weak spot first before he can dare to even try to do anything to it, but he things it looks, moves and feels weird. He looks at the cell to steal a glance but doesn't get to last long as the creature is already on top of him so he has to try and keep backing up. He gives Revy the sign to fly around it and help him by looking for anything that could be it's weak spot that he can exploit to bring it down. Revy takes flight and looks around from near the caves roof so she is out of vision from the people in the cells and the giant gem creature.

Revy stays high and she sees something where the joints meet the out pieces there are moving pieces. "There is a thread like magic in is joints you might be able to sever!" When Revy started yelling the creature turned toward her but it can't seem to see her. she is still in the blind spot of where the people in the cells are, she stays in that spot, so not to worry Kai who is now running under the Creature since Revy's yelling seemed to have distracted the giant creature from him so he was gonna use this distraction to the most of what he can do in that moment. He sees the magic threads that bound it and he snaps his fingers and he slashes through the circles at they appear and they fire up into the joints the creature screams in pain and a piece of the creatures body flies down at him like a stinger from an insect.

He dodges it and wonders how it saw where he was this spot should have been a blind spot but it nearly hit him with pin point precision in that spot. He sees into the cells and he sees a small child playing with a toy just like this creature that is staring right at him. He now knows how this thing is and what it is, but is he gonna kill a child to complete this mission cause it said kill the monster and that kid is the monster. He hurries out from under the creature as the child slams the toy down and the creature falls with it. Kai just barely getting out from under it. "It is the child in the cage, the creature is him!" Revy stays in the blind spot then starts flying toward the cells trying to stay in the blind spot, the child moves and sees the Exceed and the creature jumps back to its feet and goes to go after her and Kai releases a spike fist made of fist magic knocked the creature away from hitting Revy.

Revy gets back out of the child's sight and the child screams in anger. "Stop this before you hurt someone I am here to free you." The boy shakes his head not trusting this masked man's words because he wasn't going to go back to being a slave no matter what they said no matter what they did no matter how hard the fight he won't go back he will kill them. Kai sighs then gets on the back of the creature and he starts severing the magic strings and the pieces start falling off of the toy the child was holding as Kai severed them from the actual creature in front of him and the boy screams and cries. Kai doesn't kill the creature cause he doesn't know if it is an actual living thing or not. He walks over to the cell and he breaks the lock on the cells and they come out and Revy flies and lands on his shoulder. "Good work Revy, now young man I am not looking to sell you as a slave." He gets the kid out of the cell and he walks with them out and he gets them to a safe place, then he takes to the sky flying with Revy to return to the building so he can be paid for the mission and he lies to them about killing the creature when really he let the kid go free cause he was just protecting them from being taken back to being slaves by the ones that had hired him. He takes the pay and he leaves to just relax after that.
