“G-Gosh, I sure was l-lucky you and your horse found me there?”

“Yeah, seems like you were in a bad way, but hopefully once you’re home, you can get mended up?” The slightly weak words of a man on the back of her Pegasus something that only found relief in the heart of Sofia Serena, one could only imagine her fright when she had found someone bloodied and bleeding in the middle of nowhere, and the sense of urgency she had taken to the sky with when she had found out he was still alive underneath all that crimson colour.
“Though, if I were you, I’d maybe give it a few days before you start tussling with another werewolf?” Clearly in a bad way when the blue beauty had arrived quite by chance as she was roving across the sky in search of something else, upon spotting him in a bad way the femme and her flying steed had shot down to the ground to see if he was OK and luckily had managed to make it in time to patch him up enough to save his life, the Valerican vixen had been horrified when he had told her what had happened to him, especially so when he had revealed exactly what had been the cause of his sudden injury.

“Y-Yeah, it probably was stupid to be trying to fight that thing myself but…
I’m not the first one from my village he’d attacked, so I suppose I just wanted to make sure I was the last?”

“That’s pretty brave, but you should really leave that kind of work to the professionals…” The news that a werewolf was responsible for the attack sending a bigger chill through her even worse than the ones she usually felt when she was crossing the sky on her trusty steed in the middle of winter, even though their ‘brand’ was different the girl couldn’t help but liken this frenzied fiend to the creatures that she had encountered in Astera when that rift had opened, and that in a way made things personal.
“But you’re lucky, you’ve just so happened to run into Blue Pegasus’ Lorelai, and she isn’t the type of girl who’d leave a herd to be picked off by some wild beast?” Remembering all too well the devastation that had caused both to the town and herself personally when those rotten retches had ripped away the woman that she loved, while the White Empress had proven herself a woman resilient enough to recover from the ill fate that had befallen her and even overturn it that didn’t mean that everyone could do that, and as such Sofia felt like this was her responsibility to deal with. A mage trained with magic built to battle the forces of evil, while these beasts were ferocious that did not mean the beauty was wholly intimidated by them, and neither was she going to run away from the challenge either…

Where is this thing…? The sun having long since set when the water witch found herself wandering the woods in search of the wicked wolf that had wrought such harm on the man she had met earlier in the day, as Miss Serena stalked through the growth around her she squinted through the stylish spectacles she was wearing, and silently wished that they were as good at seeing through the night as they were through invisibility.
I’m sure that Alisa would know all too well how to track something like this… Certainly feeling like she would have been a whole lot more assured if she had a little more visibility around her, despite this wish for the comfort of the light the lady known to some as Lorelai wished for one thing even more than that, or more accurately, one person.

Should I have called her for help? Certain that the skill of her wonderful wife would be more than up to the challenge that Sofia had undertaken, even though she had come a long way as a mage in the time that she had known the White Empress she still felt leagues behind the woman and also a slight desire to lean on her for support as well, which made her feel a little bit guilty given how their lives had changed.
But she’s so busy, taking over the guild and everything… I need to show her I can stand on my own two feet? Relishing all those adventures they had gone on together when they had first met, when they had both been as free as a bird, even though she knew that her beloved black beauty had taken on the task of being the big chief of Blue Pegasus because the guild had needed her, she couldn’t help but miss those days even if she knew in her mind that it was time for her to grow and adapt to her new circumstance.

What was that?! Not given all that much time to lament the loss of the days of old however much she missed them though as suddenly something caught her attention, the tell-tale that was a twig on the ground suddenly seemed to chime out urgently to warn the woman that she wasn’t alone, and all too quickly she turned around to find her prize waiting for her, in all of its terrifying glory…

“Ruuuuhhhhhhhhh…
Such young, pretty flesh, waiting for me~”
Looks like I wasn’t the only one looking for something, huh? The rumours and pictures of werewolves in books certainly not doing justice to how fearsome they were in person, as a bizarre beast that was covered in messy fur stepped from the darkness with its wicked fangs lit by the moonlight Miss Serena couldn’t help but shiver, both from what she saw and what she heard. Not exactly sure of what she expected a monster such as this to sound like but the combination of brain and brute seeming to send yet another chill through her, the raspy growl with which the fiend spoke sounded like claws being dragged across stone and bit right into her soul, and that was without even considering how its eyes looked.

Not sure if my luck is great, or awful A red stare that looked like a dual set of daggers seeming to want to pierce her just as badly as the blades that hung from its maw or the curved hooks that Sofia could see at the end of its fingers, the sapphire siren couldn’t help but swallow as she stared at this wicked wretch of a wolf, and wondered whether the man or the animal inside it was more in control right now. Not that it really mattered afterward.

“DELICIOUS!”
Whichever half of this merged spirit that was in control or perhaps both not seeming to possess an overabundance of patience, once the beast had given the mocha marvel a once over with its eyes it seemed to want to use other things to engage her, and made a rather energetic effort toward that end only a series of moments later, bellowing excitedly as it did so.
Here it comes! This frenzied fiend dispensing with the pleasantries without even bothering to offer or ask a name as it shot forward, with strength that seemed to be way beyond anything that a man was capable the crowing creature thrust itself into the air with what looked like a sense of glee, and only made Miss Serena shiver all the more as she saw that inhuman power and the lust for flesh that flooded its gaze as she did so.

“You actually… You actually did it?”
“Heh, never underestimate the mages of Blue Pegasus~” For his part the old man that Miss Serena had rescued sounding a lot healthier when she returned to him with the battered and broken form of her enemy in tow, even though the foreign fox would feel a bit guilty in the aftermath for being forced to use lethal means to deal with an enemy ultimately she knew that it had been necessary, both for the protection of herself and the people of the meagre village that it had plagued.
I was probably lucky it wasn’t expecting a mage, though… Honestly feeling like her win had been more down to luck than solely skill even if she boasted about the latter as she returned, the sapphire siren couldn’t help but feel like the fact that she had spells to call upon was something that had taken her enemy by surprise and allowed her to get the win she needed over it, and knew as well that had she not exploited that fact instinctively then things could have turned out very differently. For everyone concerned.

“It’s a shame… There’s a few of those Werewolves around, but they’re usually not a problem?”
“Looks like this one decided he had other ideas?” That not the only surprise that someone suffered that night either, even though Sofia played the situation coolly she couldn’t help but find it rather a shock to learn that the feral fiend that she had felled was apparently the exception to the rule around the village, but then that was probably just down to her inexperience. An amateur stalker of demons, or at least that much compared to the mighty yardstick known as Miss Vollan by which she would measure herself, this was really her first encounter with the mix of man and wolf and so far they had not earned their way much into her good graces.

“Let’s hope he’s the only one?” That perhaps the reason that the young huntress couldn’t help but feel paranoid when she recognised the fact that there might be more of its ilk waiting out there in the woods, even though she tried to remain positive in the face of this fact the cynicism of the girl couldn’t help but flare up as she spoke, and warn her that this might not be over just yet…
