Was it always this cold here? She couldn’t remember. In fact it was safe to say she didn’t really know where she was. With a throbbing head and a body that felt like it was being weighed down by boulders, it was safe to say that Ylva was probably not in the safest of places. Taking in her surroundings as her mind frantically tried to pull information up, she found that she was drawing blanks. Her breathing slowed and she stopped trying to remember things and started trying to find out where she was. “ ...Can’t think with this damned cold. “

Being cold was something she was used to, but the temperature in this room was something else altogether. It felt as if it were piercing her skin, and getting into her bones. A quick scan of her surroundings told her that she was in fact in a room. It was small and it looked like there was no doors or windows that she could see. The only light in the room was blinding and it made the the floor, walls, and ceiling even more blinding white than it was. With each second that past the throbbing pain in her head grew and she had just about enough of it. There was nothing else in the room besides the light. She couldn’t hear anyone or anything besides her own breathing.

“I wish this light would go out” Slowly getting to her feet using the wall behind her as support, Ylva continued to take in her surroundings.

She hoped to find some sort of crack, some small opening, or at least the source of the cold air that seemed to be now aiming directly at her. It really was impossible to focus on any sort of thought and making it worse was the sudden queasy feeling that had hit her once she was able to stand fully up. “Please...N-Nghfaah” a wet splattering could be heard along with the pained heaving of a weakened Ylva as she dropped back to the floor on her knees, her hands outwards that kept her from laying fast first in her own vomit.

The stench of her own stomach contents only forced her to continue expelling it. She tried to crawl away to the other side of the room but the pain in her stomach and the constant shivering didn’t get her far. Someone had poisoned her, she didn’t know why and she didn’t care at the moment because she wanted it to stop. Time was irrelevant in a place like this but it wasn’t too much longer after she emptied her stomach that a part of the wall in front of her lifted upwards and a figure came into the room. It wasn’t too far fetched to say that she was relieved that someone finally came into the room, that at least that there was indeed a way out. In truth she was ecstatic for her savior but something deep inside told her that it was probably safer in the room.

Ylva couldn’t speak when the figure lifted her from the ground and threw her over it’s back, like she was nothing more than a sack of potatoes. She couldn’t fight back, she didn’t have the energy to do so which was probably a good idea anyway. Limp and weak she was carried out of the room. As soon as she was outside of it and the door closed behind them she could feel the warmth of the air around her. Outside of the bright room was much dimmer and soon the pounding in her head faded away. To say she was feeling much better was an understatement but she still wasn’t strong enough to speak anymore or even move. The uncertainty of her situation weighed heavy on her mind but she didn’t have too much longer to think about it before she was placed into another room.

The large figure who had carried her around turned out to be a woman. The room she was placed in was all white like the last room but it was much warmer and...Moist? Before she could dwell on where she was her clothes were coming off and once more being lifted up, this time she was held with more care. Ylva really wanted to speak, so many questions were running through her head that she thought she would go crazy without the answers. Because her mind was so preoccupied with trying to figure out why she couldn’t speak, her body wasn’t ready for what the very warm water that she was dipped into.

Out of shock her body jerked upwards but the woman kept her from jumping out and held her in the water until Ylva's body relaxed. Almost immediately the weakness that was keeping her quiet was lifted.

“ Uh...Oh.. Who are you, where am I, what’s happening to m-” The words flowed out of her mouth as messily as the vomit she was spewing just moments ago, but they were easily stopped by the woman as a hand covered her mouth. “ Stop speaking. I do not have the answers that I’m sure you want. I just need to make sure you are cleaned, fed, and well dressed for the person who does have those answers. I’ll ask you to make this easy for me and to just not speak unless you absolutely need to..Understand?” The woman’s words weren’t harsh or even stern, she was just trying to do her job it seems. Ylva nodded that she did in fact understand and quietly let the woman do her job. She was cleaned very thoroughly, from her finger and toe nails, behind her ears, her hair, and even her most...Private areas were scrubbed clean. It felt like she was in that room for hours with the woman who Ylva found out was called Aiko.

Once the cleaning part was done she was allowed to walk to the next room. This room was clearly a dining area with one very long table that was piled with food. The room was very spacious and smelled absolutely delicious.

The colors in the room made it even more inviting to be in, with rich reds and golds, the only lights that seem to illuminate the room were candles of various sizes that matched the decor nicely. “ Eat your fill. Word of advice...Take your time and enjoy it. Savour every bite. Make sure you imprint this day into your memory...You’ll thank me later. “ For whatever reason Aiko’s words sent a sudden chill down Ylva’s spine. It sounded like whatever would happen after wouldn’t be good. Nodding her head in response she slowly walked toward the table, her eyes darting wildly for an escape. A wave of relief washed over her when she saw a door that wasn’t the one she came in from. The only thing between her and freedom was Aiko.

Taking a seat a the table she grabbed a plate and began piling things onto it. Pork, Chicken, Beef, Corn, Rice, Some green leafy vegetable, Beans, Rice that had a yellow sort of color, even cake went onto that plate. Digging into the food she piled onto her plate, her mouth would melt at the flavor. Grabbing a bowl of soup with noodles inside of it, she slurped it down without a second thought, dipping meats into the broth and biting off chunks of bread. Her brain was swimming in the absolutely heaven that was this food and she couldn’t stop shoveling it into her mouth, it was like she hadn’t eaten in days. When the initial hunger passed Ylva slowed down her pace.

She was able to enjoy the food more thoroughly especially the ones that had a spicy taste to it, as it pulled the last bits of cold from her bones and sent her mouth on a fiery ride to flavor town. Even as she neared fullness she continued to eat, slowing her pace even more to space out the time she would have to leave this place. Aiko stayed silent the whole time, but made sure her presence was known with some small movement. Ylva knew that she could not stay in this room, and she also knew that her opportunities to escape were becoming more and more narrow. She still didn’t know where she was, even as she was led to different areas. Her lack of information was really starting to get to her. Didn’t she have a mother and a father? Why was she even here? How did she get here? Eating the last bit of cake and wiping her hands and mouth clean with a cloth, Ylva left the table and walked over to Aiko who would lead her to the door that she had been eyeing ever since she got into this room.

Leaving the dining area was like walking into a different world altogether. It was like the two areas were not even attached to one another. While the dining area was a place of comfort, this area which was a long hallway was dark, cold, and mostly bare metal. Ylva would be led into a room that held what looked like lockers.

There was nothing else but in the room but those lockers and once inside the door closed and locked with a very audible “ click “ sound. Ylva began to worry but she kept a straight face. Watching as Aiko opened a locker, Ylva could see glimpses inside of it but not enough to make out what was inside. Waiting patiently it only took a moment for Aiko to pull out a white garment that looked like a flimsy dress and some really thick white socks. “ Put this on… Quickly please “ Ylva did as she was told and in only a few seconds she was no long dressed in a towel, she was now in a flimsy white dress that hung on her like a large sack and a pair of thick socks that put a considerable amount of cushion between her and the cold floor. Once she was dressed she was led to the back of the room. She watch with much curiosity as Aiko went ahead of her and did something to the wall that caused part of it to open upwards, just like the room she awoke in.

Fear spread throughout her body and Ylva felt herself backing up and away from Aiko. She didn’t want to go back into that room, hell she didn’t want to go into a room even remotely like it. Aiko must have sensed the fear in the young girl but it wouldn’t stop her from doing her job. Grabbing her girl’s wrist the woman pulled her forward and into the room where another person sat and across from that person was a chair.

Ylva for the moment stopped resisting and Aiko let go of the girl and then left the room, the door closing when she did. Ylva began to accept that it would be harder to get out of this place and so turned her attention to the figure in the chair who was or at least looked to be a man. “ Come now, don't’ be afraid. Have a seat. “

She could feel it in her gut. She shouldn't trust this man but she didn’t have much of a choice when it came to doing what he said. Slowly she made her way to the seat. Her feet hardly touching the ground as she did so. When did she get so small? She couldn’t remember being like this before. She was practically swimming in her sack of a dress and she was positive it did not fit her like that when she put it on. “ I am Daisuke, A Doctor. Don’t worry about where you are. And if you do as I say and don’t fight your stay here could be...Less unpleasant. But if you fight or struggle in any way shape or form, then you will surely be much more miserable here. “ His voice made her stiff and all she could do was nod her head to his words. Her eyes stayed fixated on him out of fear and she soon realized that her fear was well placed. Her sapphire orbs widened as she watched him pull out the a impossibly sized needle.

“ First we must run some test. “ His voice was the tipping point that caused her to jump out of her chair and to the area that she could have sworn let her in here. In her panic all she could do was bang on the door until she felt a pain shooting from her head. “ I told you that if you
struggled this would not end well for you…” A hand tangled in her hair, yanking her off the ground was a sure fire way to let her know that she was trapped. “ Let’s see how well you fight with this in your system. “ Out of the corner of her eye she could see it, a needle that seem to never end and then a second later it was gone from her sight. In the next few moments which could only be described as a whirlwind, she was slammed to the ground with a knee in her back, hair still gripped by the Doctor, and out of fear piss began to run down her leg. “ This will only hurt a lot…” Ylva couldn't move under his weight, no matter how hard she struggled she stayed beneath him. The next moments caused her to scream in agony, but no sound came out. The needle pressed against her skin would eventually break it, going deeply into her neck and until she felt the base of it. Pain rippled throughout and just as she thought it could not get any worse she could feel something coming from the needle inside of her body. Whatever was injected in her caused her body to burn up from the inside. Time seemed to slow as she faded in out of consciousness until she was completely out, the last image in her mind being four figures....

She didn't know if it was the smell of the sea, the rocking of the boat, or the sounds of people hustling and bustling above her. Whatever it was she was thankful it yanked her out of whatever horror induced nightmare she was having. Ylva's eyes wandered over to the little window and she could tell that morning had come. She still didn't know where she was going, but her mother told her not to surface until the boat had completely stopped. Hunger was wracking her body and she knew she would have to search for some morsel of food soon. Why did her life get turned upside down so suddenly? she could only wonder that question to herself and hope her sisters were getting along much better than she was. Without knowing it, Ylva was much closer to her destination than she thought....
