Morgana

General

Name: Morgana Aldridge

Age: 21 (December 5th X775)

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Ethnicity, Father: Fiorian, Jasper Aldridge

Ethnicity, Mother: Fiorian, Vanessa Aldridge

Class: Sorcerer

Race: Human

Rank: D-rank

Guild: Guildless

Tattoo: Right Side of Her Neck

Face: Tharja - Fire Emblem

Appearance

Height: 5'6" (in heels); 5'4" (actual)

Weight: 127 lbs

Hair: Black

Eyes: Lavender

Overall: Morgana stands at an somewhat small height for a human female, though the last person who brought that up was set ablaze with the closest wand. Her pale skin remains a harsh contrast against her darker fashion sense that lends itself to giving her a more ghastly appearance at times. Buildwise, the woman is fairly slender and possesses a more bottom heavy build that's only helped by her time spent sitting down for reading.  A curtain of ebony hair flows down her head that reaches her shoulders that's fashioned into two thin strands just above both temples. It's kept straight though she often plays with her hair when emotional.

Extra: Tongue Piercing

Personality

Personality: There's a lot of words that can accurately be used to describe Morgana, and at the very bottom of that list are the positive ones. Not that she's directly rude or hates people to begin with, but rather that socialization has never been a strong point for her to begin with. Her natural apathy to people has lent her a masterful use of sarcasm and uncaring nature when it comes towards some of the more "goody two shoes" people of Earthland. While Morgana can still make friends as normal as everyone else, her strong and sometimes arrogant nature lends itself into not being taken favorably by people. She's known to be a vicious workaholic and refuses to take breaks or do much of anything when hyper-fixated on a specific goal or topic. To her, this work and goals to catalogue the dark and mysterious forgotten artefacts and magicks of the world are higher than any other thing in the world. Everything below is an annoying diversion at best and a pain in the ass at worst. Due in part to a natural affinity for magic when she was younger from her raising, the girl has a tendency to emphasize her own talents over others'.

Regardless, she isn't truly without merit. Morgana lends herself to people that share in her muted passion for the unknown and finds those very same people engaging to spend her time with. If you've proven yourself to be worth her acknowledging your existence and not complaining about "what ifs" and such, she will almost always give you her attention. Although her desires may lie elsewhere, Morgana does have a soft spot for fellow bookworms and looks up to academics and those with a wealth of knowledge of various topics. If you know something she doesn't and have the time, she'll be more than happy to let you ramble on something so mundane as the science of shipbuilding. Regardless, she's a bit abrasive at times and is selfish with her desires, Morgana remains dedicated to the world and hopes to be at the next major discovery of a magic or item that can change the world, though for who exactly is up for debate.

Likes:
  • Chocolate: It's been her secret weakness for years now, and partly the reason for her figure. Morgana loves any type of chocolate, though dark chocolate is her favorite. She can be seen stuffing her face with the treat when faced with a choice for dessert. One good way to win her affection is with this delectable treat, as she'll be more willing to hear you out when chowing down on a chocolate bar.
  • Books: Any kind of book will do. She enjoys reading in her down time and takes interest into any topic that vaguely sounds amusing to her. It could be a dissertation about the moralities of using fire magic to cook physical meat and she'll find some amount of interest to at least read through the first few chapters. Her room is littered with books and tomes of all kinds, and she normally keeps a book on her to pass the time.

Dislikes:
  • Moping: Gods, nobody cares that your village was sieged by monsters and you were the last survivor, or that promise you made to your dying wife about saving the farm. It's utterly pointless given the size of the universe, so just don't complain about it nonstop. While she's as willing to comfort people as anyone else, continuing to bring it up is one surefire way for her to hate spending time with you.
  • Winter: She's not too fond the cold despite her nature. The shivering temperatures, the inability to get warm. She'd much rather be basking on the sun at the beach. Or maybe just resting somewhere private...

Motivations:
  • Forbidden Secrets, Dark Knowledge: In this world, there's secrets hidden amongst the rabble rousing that is the modern day guild infighting. Yet if one ventures into the dark, no doubt such relics and scrolls rest underneath the surface, waiting to be claimed. It's this sense of exploring the forgotten that drives Morgana forward with her adventures.
  • Absolute Power: As stereotypical as it is, Morgana wants to become one of the powerful players in the world, despite it being a pipe dream. Some want it to protect the world from devastation, others want it to bring annihilation. She just wants it all for herself. Everything else is just sort of in her way.

Fears:
  • Forgotten by History: How can somebody say that life is truly worthwhile if you're only remembered by a single generation before being forgotten? This drives Morgana to want to make a name for herself in the world. The fear of being just another mention in a crowd terrifies her to the core, as she is desperate for any kind of title or for somebody to remember her.
  • Up So High: Morgana has never really been good with heights before. Her stomach retches at the thought of being up so high in the sky, so much that she often has to hold onto somebody else from going unconscious at the stress and fear present in her body.
  • True Name: She hates when people discover her actual name. Morgana is just a moniker that she prefers and was taken out of a children's book popular around Earthland. Her real name is Patricia.

Magic

Magic Name: Bane Magic

Magic Element: Darkness

Magic Enhancement: ---

Magic Description: Owing itself to the stereotypical darkness element, Bane Magic's principle remains simple: to cause its target to suffer while restricting their ability to fight back. It's a costly magic that can drain its user of mana if they lack the ability to manage their magic reserve, but is capable of wearing out even the strongest of mages over the course of a prolonged fight.

History

History: Morgana was born under the name of Patricia Aldridge, the youngest daughter of the Aldridge family in Fiore. She was born in West Fiore without much trouble or anything of note. An unremarkable girl in an unremarkable world, really. As other children gathered to discuss what they wanted to do when they were older, Patricia had kept to herself with her many books and thoughts. People wanted to be heroes and rulers of grand kingdoms of far off, yet her own interests lied more closer to home. She wished to be among the many researchers and explorers of the old and forgotten civilizations. Not out of (much) selfishness, but a desire to discover secrets of the world that lay forgotten by time and man alike! That would make her popular and make people like her, not just spending time talking and stupid stuff! If was that very some line of thought that young Patricia felt it was her duty to become the world's greatest explorer and to have her name in lights for the world to see! And so, the child's appetite had been wet that only the forbidden knowledge of the universe could ever hope to sate. Her bookwormish tendencies, while somewhat lonely, had resulted in her quickly excelling in class, though not to prodigy levels.

To further ostracize herself from others, Patricia never really was one to be good at most magic elements. She had always thought nature was one of the cooler elements but something had always made it so hard to really control. Yet out of all the elements, it was Darkness that the girl had developed a knack for. Something about scrutinizing every little thing a person could do made it all the easier to just pick up on the ins-and-outs of the type. Although dismayed about the opinion that followed her because of her choice of magic, Patricia embraced the solitude that her lifestyle had supplied for her and continued to further her studies and eventually decided to lean further into darkness aesthetic. A quick dye job here, a makeover there, and she was good to go! Deciding to ditch the name she was straddled with, Patricia adopted the name of "Morgana" which was from one of her favorite books as a child. The character in question being a powerful witch who was the villain of story due to a misunderstanding.

Her life was boring, and like many other starry eyed youths in the world, Morgana desired more. It was a stormy day when she left home, filling her trusty backpack with as much of her things that she could manage. After some goodbyes and promises, she set forth on the watery path to discovery.
