Atani

Atani had been to Dahlia before. She knew all the sorts of ghouls and beasts that lived within the town, but she had never expected one to put out a request for a mage or adventurer to take. In fact, she hadn't even been aware they could, but she supposed just because someone was dead or undead didn't mean they couldn't officially ask for help. As long as they were paying, who was she to say no?

Her client was a ghost named Gharlia who adopted a much younger, very curious ghost named Ghastell who had a tendency to wander off when Gharlia wasn't looking. Evidently, she had been gone for quite some time, and was willing to hire someone to go and find Ghastell for her. How she managed to get hold of jewels for the reward was beyond Atani, but she wasn't about to question her client on that.

According to Gharlia, Ghastell didn't have any usual haunts, per se, which is why the search for her was so difficult. She was a very easily distracted little ghost, and she went wherever her heart and mind took her. However, her best bet was the park, so that is where Atani began her search. She examined various places both in Dahlia's park and just outside of it. There were three main zones that Gharlia estimated Ghastell was most likely to be, and upon searching the third suggested location, Atani found a young little ghost chasing a squirrel.

"Ghastell?" Atani called. The ghost responded to the name. She turned around briefly to see who had called her, then immediately went back to chasing the squirrel. No matter what Atani tried, it didn't seem like Ghastell would stop until that squirrel was caught. So, Atani decided to transform into a kite and help catch the squirrel for Ghastell that way. She swooped down when the squirrel was least expecting it and pinned it down with her claws. She transformed back into her elven self and let Ghastell play with the rodent a bit before returning her to Gharlia who repeatedly thanked Atani for returning her daughter to her.
