Ikanbi
A date? A date. Ikanbi had a very important date. She hopped about and decided on her outfit, then parted her hair with a pin or two and put on her jacket. A regal, wonderful dark purple shirt obscured her today as her black flack jacket shone over top and she decidedly wore darker colors before she left. She strolled about her quarters in the Guild Hall, examining the bounty board presented via the magical book in her office. She scrolled through the pages and looked at Za and Khalfani's bounties and wondered how easily she could take them, then smiled to herself. She scrolled past a few other names and saw Nana, Kon, and many others. She should find someone to train with soon, she wondered to herself. She decided on earrings and then the young mimic mage strolled out of her chambers, grabbing both of the harpoon guns and her knives on her way out the door. She took a travellers bag and pouch from the desk outside her office and thanked the enchantment. She stuffed them full of food, supplies, torches, ropes, and most notably a rather large rope ladder that was so very finely woven, collapsable, and ridiculously so long that she could barely ever even estimate it.

It was a right nice proper enchantment, the bag, the rope that came out of it was indeed never ever ending. She strolled a length of it out and too readied her harpoon guns just in case but she descended from the guild hall of The Collective and down towards Myras. She enjoyed doing the journey manually. She was an explorer, and adventurer, a hunter, after all. The wind rushed through her helmet and she smiled behind her visor and aviators. The fur trim on her jacket rusted and her boots laces stayed tucked. Eventually, she did reach the ground and went on her merry way to the rendezvous point with a so called Banana. At least, she had thought thats what she heard their name was. Someone looking for work, like herself? The notice had been rather straight forward, it was nothing particularly new, the aristocats of the silver city were little children and scared of getting beat up for whatever reason or another. She wondered what Banana was like, even after reading their file as Nana in The Collective. She wondered what spells Nana might have that Ikanbi could witness just in case something did to their way during what should be a simple escort mission.

Nana

LIONS AND TIGERS AND DRAGONS

Cue the music:

GEAR:

This quest was a little different for the woman known as Nana. Normally, she worked independently of her clients to accomplish their goals from the shadows. It was unusual to be requested for guard duty. Then again, Nana was a meticulous sort of person who took it upon herself to spell out the smallest of details to a quest and fulfill them in their completeness. It was rare for Nana to mess up or miss something and present a less than desirable outcome. It had happened on occasion however.

Such were occasions when her clients leaned more towards the light side of the spectrum and not the majority of their own interests compared to the greater good. In those cases, they usually forgot to tell Nana not to kill anyone... or torture anyone for that matter. Such incidences had led to severe miscommunication and led her clients to be displeased with her work. To which she simply blamed them for not being specific enough, knowing that she performed her requests to the letter and word of the client's desires.

In a way, this type of quest fit Nana. Not for the potential of combat or guard duty, but simply for the fact that she was entitled to commit murder just to protect someone else' life. A justification for wholesale murder. A laughable but thoroughly enjoyable concept. Oh how Nana loved to make light guilds and law enforcers squirm uncomfortably.

Nana was a tall woman, well endowed and gifted more so than many other women. She towered over most women in stature, but also in her womanly charms- charms she made sure to flaunt whenever possible. She had long blonde hair and purple luminous eyes that seemed serene. Her overall appearance giving off an aura of some other-worldly being, a goddess even. There were some that swore she was indeed a goddess. Those who knew her, knew that she was anything but a just and divine being. Rather... She was closer to the opposite. A demon. A devil. Both in physiology and mentality.

Today she wore her typical attire- her usual gear but also an out of place dress. A black dress split at the thighs to show off her long legs. The bosom of the dress revealing ample cleavage- to which she often used as a trap for easy excuses to beat people up for staring at her for a second too long. Despite her fancy dress and matching long hair tie, she did not wear high heels or sandals. No, she wore low heel slippers for the sake of movement alone. Stomping on someone with dagger-like heals would be enjoyable, but hardly a battle accessory.

Today Nana was in the city of Myras, a wealthy state of affairs for commerce and sight seeing. Despite the wealth, the difference in station was a large disparity. The rich became more rich and the poor became increasingly poor. That had created a deep resentment between the rich and poor. Many fights had broken out, many of which had led to fatalities on both sides. As a person of interest in inflicting pain upon others, Nana had taken it upon herself to understand the dynamics of this city somewhat.

Her job today was to protect a rich and prominent business official in browsing wares in look for exotic goods or inspiration. Nana couldn't bee too certain- her only true interest was in satisfying her clients' requests and inflicting pain or suffering on those who stood in her clients' way.

Today, she wouldn't be alone however. Her client had told her that she would be working with another- an Ikanbi. Whatever that was. Nana hardly paid attention to bounties or fame unless they were big fish. Soon, the two women would meet. The meeting place would be at the top of the mountain's path and down into the city proper. Assuming Ikanbi hadn't beaten her to the meeting spit, Nana would arrive first- even before the client would show up. She would stand against a nearby wall of a rich estate, seemingly pensive in her own thoughts as her eyes stared almost lifelessly, her body rigid as a statue. Her exceed sitting comfortably on her left shoulder, holding her long blonde locks as a handle to not fall off.

Nana Banana in the Silver City Empty Fri Aug 26, 2022 6:57 am

Ikanbi
Not one to be late either by any means, Ikanbi too had arrived quite early, and had found Nana perched against the wall. Ikanbi readied her harpoon gun from afar, aiming it high into the foundation of a nearby taller building and pulled herself up. She was oh, so, enjoying her perks of the guild hall, the equipment, the bag, the clothing, she blended in with the aristocats quite easily as it would turn out and she thanked her lucky stars that the silver city was as it were, fortunate to the fool that was herself. Unfortunate sometimes it were, the ruffians of the lower caste didn't take kindly to the richer folks here, it was a rude display of behavior Ikanbi had been quite surprised to witness, yet, it had really happened. "You must be Nana." She said politely and bowed her head a little as she extended her right hand. Her eyes peeked over her aviator sunglasses as she examined Nana more up and down. "That is a good color on you." She said finally.

Ikanbi pulled out her journal and began to take notes of Nana absentmindedly, throwing in a rough sketch of her appearance and adding in some finer details and notes over time as they waited around for the rich little aristocat to grace them with their snooty little presence. "The work actually isn't so bad as it turns out." Ikanbi added, trying to stir up some conversation. "Most of the time they get you something cute as payment and the other pay isn't too shabby either, and, every once in a while there's really interesting food too." She nodded and examined the building she had harpooned up from as she adjusted the harpoon gun back into its holster and searched within her bag for an apple. She withdrew one and offered it to Nana while they waited. "How long have you been in the Silver City? I'm Ikanbi." Ikanbi offered up a bright yellow apple that was about the size of a softball. It easily weighed an entire pound and had an orange tint, mottled even.

Nana's partner for the mission would soon reveal themselves. Not in the usual sense of walking up with a friendly wave or giving their name. No, it would be in a peculiar way. Nana hadn't seen the woman Ikanbi from afar, not until a harpoon had launched itself like a grappling hook onto a nearby taller building and the sole figure of a woman raised herself up. This same woman would make her way from there towards Nana's position before seeming to have reached her intended destination. Nana had watched Ikanbi the whole time of course, though more interested in the 'why' to grappling over a building rather than walking up the hill- as opposed to the initial conversation the woman had started.

Nana dismissed her doll-like posture as the woman had approached and seemed to know who Nana was even before Nana could fully suspect that this woman was the other helper, Ikanbi.

Ikanbi had given a polite bow and Nana returned it. Nothing wring with formality in most situations. Truthfully, Nana was itching for the quest to be started so she could have some fun- her and Ikanbi would have to wait however, as their client seemed to be late to their meeting time. "Thank you. I try very hard to always look stunning." she would respond to the compliment and gaze over Ikanbi herself. She was beautiful in her own way, an exceptional woman compared to the other mob characters in the city.

As Ikanbi would doodle in her book, Nana would absently peek over it in curiosity- wondering just exactly what this woman was doing. A fair likeness, or so Nana guessed. An eccentric artist was her quest helper- what an interesting day this would turn out to be.

She knew of most of what Ikanbi was already saying, though she was sure she would have appreciated the explanation if she were new to the city and nothing little to nothing of the lifestyle and history of the city. Having skipped breakfast, nana graciously accepted the apple, though wondered momentarily if it had been poisoned or something. Ever the suspicious person, she sniffed the apple first before taking a modest bite out of its supple skin. "Thank you." she would say, though she had nothing to offer in return.

Ikanbi finally introduced herself and asked if Nana was new to the city. To which she would pace their location slowly, looking about. "This is my first time being so far from Oak." she would say at length, allowing Ikanbi to determine where exactly Nana's allegiances lay- in a dark guild. Nana knew nothing of Ikanbi and if she were the type to attack a dark guild member for no reason other than her affiliation, Nana would accept such an attack and counter with all of her unforgiving fury and cruelty. Assuming Ikanbi didn't care about Nana's guild status and continued with the pleasant atmosphere, Nana would be amicable.

It wouldn't be long after that before their client arrived. A rather rich looking man wearing the silkiest of silk garbs and jewelry adorning his arms and neck. Clearly he was an attention-seeker and had very little to no self-esteem. For a split second, a wicked grin would cross Nana's face and then disappear in the blink of an eye. This quest was going to cause so much trouble, she thought to herself- already imagining all of the trouble they would get into because of this flashy man who wanted to wave his jewels and influence around. Possibly his real intention of doing such a display was to remind the poor class of people, to whom was in charge. Either way, Nana would greet the man with a polite bow and briefly overlook how intensely he ogled her. She would find a way during guarding him, to make him pay for his greedy eyes.

#5Ikanbi

Nana Banana in the Silver City Empty Sun Aug 28, 2022 2:58 am

Ikanbi
Ikanbi of the sands stared at Nana for a long while, jotting away in her journal. She raised an eyebrow and scanned the horizon, checking in the architecture and peeping at the shadows. She adjusted her harpoon gun in its holster by her waist and her eyes narrowed on Nana for a moment. "You can relax." She said finally. "I don't care about your antics with Eternal Nightmare." She added with a tsk. "I am not exactly a good hearted person myself." Ikanbi gave a wicked grin. She scribbled in more features of Nana, taking in her finer markings and the features of her clothing, adding in linework and some textured shading. She worked diligently, slowly, yet swiftly, flourishing and brandishing her pen eaglishly as she soared across the paper of her journal. She ate her own apple and jotted notes down about it as well. She wondered about winter and how the weather here in the silver city would fair under snow. She had gotten so she rather did enjoy the snow, even if it was a stark contrast from Desierto.

"The Collective has files on many of you, the Dark Guilds, most guilds, even, most people, most things." Ikanbi rambled on a bit. "I did my research, I don't much mind, my sister was almost in Eternal Nightmare herself." She said eventually with a softer grin. She examined Nana's outfit. "How about that." She said softly and scribbled some notes into her journal. "Tell me more about you, besides what the bounty books say. I'd rather know you, the real you." Ikanbi said. "Me, I like research. Sometimes its...not...good aligned. That's where my sister comes into play." She gestured towards the street. "After all, sometimes its cheaper to acquire something than it is to pay for it. But mingling with the nobles here does have its perks I would say."

She gathered her journal together and tucked it away and became silent, then met up with the aristocat they were supposed to be shopping with. "Ah yes, this one." Ikanbi spoke silently, just so that Nana could hear. "I did a job with this one earlier in the week, they like to mingle about with the lower caste but they've made many would be enemies with their gambling habits. They do like to use the nice jewelry though as a poker chip so thats nice I suppose." She smiled and showed off a silver bracelet. "Won this off him that way actually haha." Ikanbi smiled again as they walked through the alleyways escorting their aristocrat of the week. This one did have a fondness for jewelry, as it were, and made several purchases, and spoiled the both of them, buying something for both Ikanbi and Nana each. Ikanbi thanked the rich man and pocketed the gift, she didn't even open it for the time being. Instead, her eyes scanned the streets, for she knew they had been followed.

Would be thieves, gangsters, thugs, ruffians, whatever you wanted to call them, preyed on the rich as they strolled the streets in the Silver City. It was up to Ikanbi and Nana to protect the aristocrats as they did their purchases. Today, some would be thug did indeed attempt to make off with some goods. He'd cased many places that day, and happened to stumble upon Ikanbi, Nana, and their particular breed of noble that was shopping with them that day. So, Ikanbi brandished her knife. "Leave us be or you're going to get hurt." She said to the thug, whom stepped forwards and reached for the bags the aristocat held. "Hey watch it." They said. "You don't listen do you?" Said Ikanbi and slashed at the thug with her knife, stepping in between herself and the aristocat and shoving the thug aside heartily. "You trying to get hurt then?" Ikanbi asked the thug honestly. "Have it your way." Ikanbi scrambled with her off hand for her harpoon gun and levied it at the thugs chest, then fired it, causing the metal rungs to smack into the thugs chest quite hard, knocking them backwards and on their rear quite prone.

She reeled in the line of the harpoon gun and tucked it back away at her waist, holstering it as she examined the one of the two thugs, for now another had shown up. "Ah drats its always a gang innit." She said to Nana. She readied her harpoon gun to assist Nana with the other one.

Nana's had no particular interest in divulging information about herself to someone of the Collective Mind. She figured she could offer a few things however, things easily obtained if one were to ask one of her client's about her mannerisms and professionalism. In fact, knowing Ikanbni was of the Collective Mind was already an advantage for Nana, even considering Ikanbi's sister was a potential applicant for Eternal Nightmare.

Despite her mature womanly attire and aura, Nana did something very non-lady-like. She allowed her true face to be revealed to Ikanbi, just moments before their pompous client had shown up. Nana's eyes hardly changed from their doll-like expression, but her face contorted into a wicked pleasurable smile as she answered Ikanbi. "I take my quests very serious and to the letter of a client's specifics. If they omit rules of don't care about collateral damage, i take advantage of their lack in detail or specifics. I take great pleasure and enjoyment in inflicting pain on others for little to no reason." she would say honestly, then shift her face back into a more acceptable beauty and prepared to greet their client.

Nana listened absently as Ikanbi whispered to Nana after the initial greeting. She had previous experience with this client and just confirmed Nana's suspicions. He was a greedy and haughty man who fed his appetite for food and women- for what other reason would a man so flagrantly flaunt his wealth and jewelry than to strut around like a peacock looking for a mate. Had he touched Nana in any way, she wouldn't respond to his advances. She would simply and politely decline his advances. Maybe Ikanbi would be worried about what Nana would do to their client if she couldn't control herself. She wouldn't have to worry though, Nana rarely saw her own body as more than a weapon. That being said, she greatly disliked this client.

It hadn't been long since they went down into the city proper and began to walk about as their client went from window to window and bought whatever he fancied. Some people received the effects of euphoria through purchasing things, this client was probably one of those. Obscene wealth and complete disregard for prices. He had even bought some jewelry for Ikanbi and Nana. To which both graciously accepted.

That was when Nana had noticed movement unnatural to the eb and flow of customers and travelers. They were being tailed, or perhaps it was that they were being corralled towards an area? There was a man behind them by now, who walked a bit too close and made the client uncomfortable. This caused him to veer towards another man, the one that Ikanbi identified. Ever the quick one apparently, Ikanbi struck first and disabled the thug in front. Meanwhile, Nana and the client contended with the one in the rear. "Drop all your jewelry, you whore! Now step away from the fat man. He's to be a hostage!" said the thug and brandished a crude rusty knife.

Nana did not look like a mage, rather, she looked like a rich wife or call girl to the rich man's tastes. The bandit thought this and revealed as much when he made his demand directed at Nana. At first, she did nothing but comply to the thug's demands. She retrieved the jewelry piece the client had purchased for her and timidly walked forward to hand the accessory to the thug. While she advanced, the thug's eyes took a liking to her body. He ogled her a long time, far too long. By the time Nana reached within arm's grasp of the man, he felt an itch in his hand. he wanted to touch and dominate the woman, but he didn't have the time. Maybe a quick squeeze for now?

That was likely what was going through his head one moment: the next moment, nothing. Even as Nana had closed the distance and used her left hand to extend the jewelry towards the thug, her right hand suddenly held an ornate magical gun- a hand cannon to be exact. "H-here Mister... here's what you asked for!" she would say timidly at first, then her facial expression changing to sadistic at the blink of the eye. The thug blinked, not fully understanding what was suddenly blocking his right eye's line of sight. The click of the trigger was all he heard and then a beam of magic traveled through his eye socket and out the back of his skull.

The impact of the magic shot shattered the man's whole head and then he was a headless corpse which fell to the ground. It twitched for a couple of seconds and Nana dropped the gifted jewelry onto the corpse. A promise was a promise after all. The client paled at the sight of combat. Ikanbi's tussle had been much less violent and more true to a sense of quid pro quo. Meanwhile Nana's deception and manipulation of her womanly charms had frightened the client. His skin blanched and sweat poured down his face... Which only intensified as Nana willed her magical gun away and turned to greet him with a disarming and innocent smile, despite having blood smeared across her face.

No words were needed to the client, rather- Nana addressed Ikanbi whom was rushing over to assist. "Oh my- you dealt with your target rather quickly, Miss Ikanbi." Nana would say with graceful affection and womanly rivalry. Truthfully, nana had wanted both men for herself, but it couldn't be helped. The thug attack had offset the client's appetite for expensive jewelry... even his actual appetite and he wished for nothing more than to be escorted back to his mansion. On the way back, he would have little to say to either woman. He thought he understood women, but today's events had made him second guess even his wife to which he would soon see at his mansion.

If Ikanbi had any small talk to make on their way back, Nana would entertain her. Once the two of the women had collected their reward for the escort quest, Nana would turn to Ikanbi after the client had left. "It was a pleasure, Miss Ikanbi. I must make my way back to Hargeon however. I have an important date to meet." she would say and smile, though this smile was simply a facade. What she really meant was she was about to go and retrieve her deceased guild master's corpse from Blue Pegasus.
