Pyre
Pyre cracked his knuckles. He was staying in the townhouse he had woken up in a few days ago. Since then, Pyre has systematically burned every single thing that had mentioned the Aurelle family, Pyre was flat out done with them. And they no longer existed so he didn’t have to worry about that kind of thing anyway.

Pyre read over the quest once more. He found it kind of simple, he finds the merchant, pays him, and leaves. While also making sure the man isn’t a sketchy dirt bag like Pyre’s employer thinks.

The sun would be setting soon and Pyre knew that that was his time to leave. He would meet the merchant just after dusk and the two would have their meeting, whether it was pleasant or volatile.

Pyre was ready for this. He hadn’t been out of the house in days, and everything in the house smelled like smoke, including Pyre. Pyre also needed the money to pay for new furniture, new pictures. Pyre was practically refurbishing the entire house after his very early spring cleaning.

Pyre did not think much of what had happened a few days ago. He chose to keep it out of his memory. The battle, the compound, all the dead bodies, they were too much for him. The seraphim has given him a way out of that mess as well as a way to end it. Pyre had leapt on it and now, everything felt brand new. Those who had survived the battle would not remember anything, except for pyre. The newly innocent people would be waking up in hospitals soon, confused of their whereabouts. The small children that had been members of their family would be waking up in orphanages soon, their pasts blank spaces in their minds. Pyre knew the transition would be hard. But he also knew that any life was better than one devoted to a cause you never had a choice in. Pyre himself stayed away from these memories, part of him also wished that he could also erase the memories and live his life a new and unbiased person. But for the moment, he still had some duty left. He had to make sure that everything remained calm here in magnolia after that small explosion in the woods. Pyre knew it was the cave in of the compound, but the seraphim has erased it from the land. Many citizens whispered about it. Pyre would wait until the whispers died down again and then he would leave and never look back on his life. He knew of ways to make himself disappear. Potions to change how he looked. Maybe putting on a new face would help him not have memories on himself at all times. But that would be decided later.

The sky was a bright orange now so Pyre left quickly. He opened the door and locked it behind him and moved slowly though the late afternoon steeets. He wished it was warm so he could enjoy the summer sun. But the cool winter was just as fine. He was getting to enjoy new territory in his mind. And he was okay with that.

Pyre
The lamp lights buzzed to life as the lacrimas inside them lit up with life. Pyre enjoyed this spectacle quite a lot. It felt like he was witnessing a secret ritual. No one really watches the lights turn on, but when someone did see it. It felt special, like something invisible that you had managed to see.

The sky was a deep orange, turning to red as it got farther away from the setting sun. The tiniest bit of the moon could be seen as it’s stepped it’s way into the darkening sky.

People were heading home now or closing their stores after long days of work. Pyre’s own work was just beginning, his day of helping the community was just about to start.

Pyre made his way across the city towards its edge until he made it to the designated meeting spot, an alley. He was early but that didn’t bother him. Pyre was slightly confused why his employer had arranged an alley way as a pick up point. It seemed very sketchy. Pyre did not wish to be caught up in villainous behavior. He had changed the law to fit his ideas long enough. Pyre would go about the law this time. If his employer tried to use him as a guise, the man would regret it very quickly.

Pyre remained on alert, he was still unsure of who to trust at this moment, but out of kindness he would remain loyal to his employer, Pyre had the man’s money so he might as well keep it safe for the moment.

Finally, after the sun had wait and the pitch black of the night sky had finally come did the caravan show up. A pudgy man sat on the wagon while a more muscular man sat inside the wagon. Pyre squinted to make out what was inside. His curiosity brought up the fact that it was ore.

The pudgy man clambered off down his horse and walked over to Pyre, his aide right behind him. “Where is Barras?” He said. His voice gave Pyre the feeling that he drank too much and he wasn’t in very good health. Pyre gave a polite smile, “my name is Pyre, I’m here on behalf of Barras. Barras was called into work on something else so he asked me to make the exchange.” Pyre said. The merchant didn’t seem to enjoy this fact, “I wanted to talk to Barras.” He said flatly. Pyre gave another curt smile. “I assure you I can make the exchange. Show me the goods and I’ll show you the cash.” Pyre said. The merchant crumbled and his aide shifted on his feet. “I’m not so sure about this.” The merchant said. “You either make the deal or I leave.” Pyre said, his kindness leaving his voice. “I’m here to work for Barras and if you won’t make the deal than Barras has no business with you.” The merchant thought for a moment before walking back to his horse. “Dryan, take care of him.” The merchant said.

Pyre
Dryan, which appeared to be the name of the aide smiled. “Gladly boss. So, Pyre. You give me the money this goes much easier for someone as weak as you.” He said. Pyre gave another smile. “Someone with your looks could have done much better in life. Maybe be an actor or a wizard who helps people.” Pyre suggested to the man. The aide gave out a little laugh. “If you weren’t my enemy I might ask you out on a date.” He said. Pyre blushed. “Awe, that’s sweet. I’ve never been asked out by a man before.” Pyre said. The aide gave a little wink before he burst into a run. The man was fast and strong so Pyre knew he’d have to use the environment to better himself at this moment.

The man came running down the alley way and lunges at Pyre, who turned to the side and grabbed the man’s wrist in an attempt to flip him. The attempt failed and Pyre was hurled instead. “Nice try pretty boy.” Dryan commented. Pyre smiled and groaned. “You are very strong.” Pyre conceded. Feeling the small metal rod on the ground next to him Pyr picked it up and threw it at the man. It’s end Barried itself in the aide’s thigh causing him to scream out in pain. Pyre dashes forward and grabbed it and twisted the rod. “I really did not want to do this.” Pyre Said. “You could have maybe been a little nicer to me and this could have been avoided.” Pyre said. The aide groaned and tapped the ground. Pyre removed a medicinal oil and placed it next to the aide. “This should ease the pain.” He said.

Pyre looked up to the merchant who was quickly trying to back up out of the alley. Pyre ran up to him and detached the horse from the wagon. Pyre grabbed the man by his collar and rugged him down forcefully till he was lying flat on his back. “Why the hell you’d go and do that.” He asked, grabbing his chest. “To teach you a lesson.” Pyre said. “People who crawl on the dirty underside of society deserve to be there and not living it up in the beauty of a nice chateau.” Pyre said. His tone was dry and matter of fact.

“You’ll be fine so don’t worry. I am going to report you the guard and hopefully you and your partner will get turned around. But for now I’m going to take my money, this clearly stolen ore and return to my employer and tell him about your terrible antics. So good night and have a nice day.” Pyre said before walking out into the streets.

He felt kind of good. He felt bad for impaling the aide’s leg with a metal rod, but the ointment gen left would help. He really did hope that the guard would manage to turn the poor men around and make them have a slightly better life then they had had before.

Pyre
Pyre made his way back across town to the forge where he knew Barras would be. He had nothing to show for his accomplishment except the money that had been sent with him and the fact that the ore had been stolen. He was glad to know at least that Barras had been curious about the intent of the men and wanted to make sure they were not dangerous. So Pyre applauded the man on his want to keep everyone safe.

Magnolia at night was a different beauty that not everyone got to see. Children would be asleep. Parents would too, maybe reading. The adults would be out drinking or in their homes. And fairy tail was the only other group that was really out tonight as well. Over the past few days Pyre thought about going and joining fairy tail, but he needed to make sure all the feud business had been burned out for good this time. He had put work into it and he didn’t want more innocent lives lost in the process.

Pyre closed his hand around the money sack and folded his arms across his chest. The night had become very cold and Pyre was no longer enjoying it as much.

The forge could be seen glowing at the end of the street, and as he got closer, Pyre could feel the hot air escaping out its open doors and onto the street outside. Pyre slipped inside and immediately removed his jacket, it was sweltering in here. Pyre searches through the forge and Found Barras in his office going over papers. When Pyre stepped in he smiled, “Pyre, how did it go?” He asked. Pyre shook his head, “as you guessed, the men were up to no good. The ore they had was stolen and then they tried to rob me. I’m going to file a report to the guard on my way home. Clear all of this mess up.” He said. Barras nodded, “I was afraid the merchant and his friend would be dangerous. I’m glad you managed to solve the problem for me. Thank you for helping me today, you can keep the money there as a reward.” Barras pointed with his feather pen to the jewel sack in pyre’s hands. Pyre thanked him and left the sweltering hot forge.

His walk back to the townhouse was calm. He knew that the guard kept a small outpost not too far from his house so he was sure to make a stop by there.

His stop at the outpost was short, he chatted with the guard and filled out a report. The guard handed it to a messenger who would make sure to go and check out the area with a few men to see if anything was still there. Pyre felt glad that he was able to help.

Once he unlocked the door and slipped back into the townhouse he creeped up the stairs and Into the only room he had had time to decorate. It was his bedroom. There were pictures of forests, a small bedside table and a singular window looking out into the world. Pyre went to sleep.
