The tranquility that hung within the air latched itself to the sinister feeling that resided deep within her heart. The white corridor that she stood in polished and shined underneath the dim lighting that was captured within the ceiling. She heaved a sigh as silence embraced her while the she desperately chose to ignore the commotion of laughter and joy that seeped in the air. It wasn't because she had anything against people being happy, it was simply because the laughter and joy that these people currently treasured often caused the demise of someone else. She could feel annoyance seep through her as her face morphed into a look of disdain once she glanced to her right, looking at the bunch of Knights who only wear uniforms for the sake of appearances and do nothing else. A grunt escaped her lips as she realized that people such at those lazy old men were the same everywhere. In the name of urgency, she had to quickly come to Era, leaving crocus but now, she simply felt angry. These corrupted higher ups who do nothing more than play around and drink all day are known to be the root of the Rune Knights. No wonder so many people hate them. In fact, she herself hates these people who have become the center of this corrupted organization. They had devised a plan to get rid of the dark guild that was now standing but the blonde wasn't completely on board with the idea. Particularly, because of her beliefs. Indeed she didn't believe that everyone who was a part of a dark guild was a bad person in her eyes but she also couldn't deny that getting rid of such a guild where all evil doers accumulate might not be a bad idea after all.

Regardless, their reason for summoning her to the place that morning was different. Although she had already been informed of the actions that the Knights were to take, she by no means was exempt from being overworked like a dog. That's what these administrative officers and the authorities were good for. All they did for days was hide behind the protection of the Rune Knights who they play with and order like they were the masters. To then, the knights are nothing more than pawns in a chess game that they can move around. Even if they lose one, they still have many more left. Moreover, all they do is hide behind these Knights that they control. Alas, perhaps it was wrong of her to think that the rise of the new emperor would change anything at all. She could feel the motivation gushing through her, the same motivation that was once dying out upon the news of the new emperor taking over because she felt like she no longer had to do anything. It would all be done for her. She now realized that she was wrong. These officers need to be shown their place. Slamming her hand over their door, the loud noise surprised them as all she did was throw a glare at them and then went her own way. She was never someone who obeyed these people blindly anyways.

Fatigue had taken over her body as she lazily strolled over the streets of Era. Her long blonde hair swayed from side to side as her black boots collided against the ground only for the sound of her footsteps to fall into the clutched of irksome commotion and to be drowned within the heated movement of those around her. The warmth of the sun was beating down on the citizens of the town as it raised the previously wintery chilly weather and morphed it into a slightly more humid atmosphere which she didn't quite enjoy. Clas in a pair of blue jeans and a black, loose sleeveless shirt, she sauntered further, hoping to encounter the people she was told to meet there. The magic council had urgently sent her out, giving her nothing but the location where she had to reach. She was simply told thats he would have to meet someone there and they would instruct her and tell her what to do.The very thought of the magic council irked her. The blonde more often than not contemplated why she even listens to them only to recall her ambition and passion to change the system. The only way she could possibly do that was from within and if that is what she had to do, she would do it. She was more than ready. All she needed was a way to control her temper.

Drenched in sweat, the female raised her right hand only to wipe it over the back of her neck, bringing along the moisture with it. Her other hand too raised, grabbing onto the stretchy black band that was compressed over her wrist and used it to haul her hair up into a messy bun. Although it was spring, the weather was truly hot. Halting her steps, she awaited the appearance of someone. She didn't know who it was though, she didn't even know what she was supposed to do. After all, you can count on the Magic Council to throw a Knight into the large pits of despair without letting them know what they were getting themselves into. As these thought made way into her mind, she leaned back over the wall to support her body while her arms were crossed over her chest. Anger made it's way past her body, into her fists which clenched. Lately, ever since her arrival in Era and personal meetings with the administrative officials, she found herself hating the system of the rune Knights and the magic council more and more. She was furious. Perhaps, it was better for her to simply have avoided the orders that awaited her and done what she always did but she knew she wouldn't do that. Although the magic council has way too many flaws to count, she knows that sometimes, as in once in a blue moon, they might actually do something to help someone and that was the only reason she gives these tasks a shot, hoping that perhaps she could help someone, be it anyone.

Tap, tap, tap. The impatient sound of her foot as it tapped against the ground was the only thing she could hear for a while. As she waited, the sound of hurried footsteps approaching her caught her attention, diverting it away from her own shoes that seemed so interesting momentarily. Lilac eyes glanced up only to spot a young man running towards her. He was clad in a simply blue uniform that seemed awfully familiar. As the female racked her brain, attempting to recognize the color and the style of the uniform, the man had already reached her past the crowd. He bent down a little, with his hands placed on his knees as he panted, "Miss.Queen, Marin Awedin requires your immediate presence. Please follow me."

Marin Awedin? The name sounded awfully familiar but didn't ring a bell. Perhaps her brain was too preoccupied with everything, including her anger to currently have the ability to recognize anything. This was bad, she needed to clear her head up and soon. After all, she was on a job. The blonde Knight especially was someone who hated slacking off at work and even disliked those who did such a thing. If she becomes one of them, she would be nothing more than a hypocrite. Regardless of what it is that's occupying her mind at the moment, she decided to bury those thoughts deep somewhere where they would not hinder her work in any way or form. Once she had done that, knowledge came rushing to her head as she recalled the uniform belonging to the Magic council's messengers. The name Marin Awedin also rung a bell. If she was right, he was a lieutenant of one of the top tier squads. For him ti require her assistance must be a pretty big deal.

She followed the messenger through the crowd as they swayed from left to right only to arrive in front of a restaurant which the young man entered. He held open the door for her and the female too passed the glass doors where she was hit with the sudden cool that escaped from the air conditioning. For a moment, she was lost in her own world, only to regain consciousness once her name was called out. Her eyes snapped in his direction, noticing an older man who seemed to be in authority walking over towards her.

"You must be Miss.Queen, thank you for coming on such a short notice. It seems that we have a problem here. A young girl has been lost and we need to find her. We suspect that it may be a kidnapping. So far, we have gathered five main suspects but it seems that we are unable to do much here. I am aware that you are not a part of our squad but I have faith in your abilities. You might be able to get more information out of them than I would. So please, help us out this once. A young girl's life is at stake."

Quest Description

Heaving sigh, the blonde simply stared at the man before giving up. After all, her task was to help someone even if it was as little as finding a young girl. However, her eyes moved to the side, glancing at the five suspects that seemed engrossed in their own worlds to notice what was going on around them before returning to meet the lieutenant who stared at her with pleading eyes. Once again, she heaved a sigh before agreeing with the nod of her head followed by her words, "Alright, I'll do it." The man simply flashed her a sigh of relief before walking out with his crew or squad, or whatever he preferred to call them and left her all alone with the suspects. Before approaching them, she thoroughly scanned each one of them before glancing down at the picture that he handed to her a moment before he went outside the restaurant. She observed the photo, noticing the radiant smile of the young girl who now deemed as a missing child. She had short brown hair tied up into two cute little pigtails as her simply childish blue dress flowed with the wind. Even through this picture, she could feel the radiating personality of the child who she assumed was joyous and happy. The blonde knight could only image the pain that her family went through and all she found herself doing was hoping that it wasn't a case of kidnapping. If it was, she didn't want to imagine what she could do as she could already feel her blood boiling within her. It would definitely be deemed as a heinous crime if someone were to kidnap someone so small and innocent. However, that also increased her incentive to find out if one of the suspects was actually a kidnapper.

All the suspects were rounded up around a table, engrossed within their own world as one was digging into some food while another was reading a magazine. One was spacing around and another was catching up on lost sleep. Walking to the other corner of the vicinity, she coughed hoping to grab their attention but failed. Irritated, she raised her finger pointing towards the old man who happened to be one of the suspects, "Alright, I will begin interrogating. You, come here." The man seemed confused at first but obliged nonetheless as he walked over, sitting on the wooden chair across from her and leaving everyone else in crippling anticipation. She purposely brought him to the side as it seemed as if the suspects weren't aware of the fact that they were being interrogated for a case of kidnapping. Sliding the picture of the girl forward, she told the man to look at it, "Do you know this girl?" Confused as to why she was asking, he stared at the picture until his face changed with recognition. "Ah, yes, this girl. She always plays at the nearby park where I take my dog for a walk. I have seen her around."

"Well, where did you last see her?"

The man, confused replied to her ever question until her suspicion only grew. Closing in on his, she bent down and glared at him, "Did you kidnap her?" Finally realizing what was going on, his eyes widened as she looked around frantically while denying that he did. Although his actions only raised more suspicion, his previous answers before he realized what was going on seemed more than genuine. He was telling the truth. If he had indeed kidnapped her, he would have shown some sort of reaction to the picture and would have definitely denied even knowing her. He wasn't the culprit. Sighing, she stood up straight before stepping to the side, "Alright, you can go." Looking back at the four remaining suspects, she noticed a woman with her legs gracefully crossed but her foot twitched in annoyance as her face was fuming. "Miss angry lady, your turn." Huffing at the nickname given to her by the blonde who too was annoyed at the moment and couldn't bother to care for the inconvenience of her suspect, the woman walked forth and plopped herself down on the wooden chair that was now left empty. Looking at the blonde with menacing eyes, she simply huffed and turned away as her arms were crossed over her chest as a clear display of annoyance.

The knight simply sighed before proceeding to ask the same questions that she asked the old man only to receive a nonchalant and melancholic reply which irked her more than it should. The woman huffed once again before speaking properly, "the only thing you're doing is wasting my time by keeping me here. If you're so concerned about that child, go look for her instead of asking me. Do your job right." That was the turning point, enough to make the female lose her patience as she slammed her hand down on the table before the suspect who flicked a little, "Alright, listen here. We're trying our best. This might be a case of kidnapping. Of course, the search for the girl is going on right now but if there actually is a kidnapper, it's our job to stop another case like this from happening. Who know, you might be the next victim for all we know? So we are doing our job, which is protect useless citizens like yourself so cooperate or I'm going to actually start thinking that you're the kidnapper we've been looking for."

The woman looked offended and surprised at the outburst but continued to answer every question asked by the blonde only to prove to be innocent within the Knight's eyes. Moving aside, she let the woman go before looking back at the three other suspects. If the kidnapper proved to be none of them, it was highly likely that the girl was just lost and she truly hoped that it was the case because if she accidentally let go of a kidnapper and another incident occurs, someone else's life might be in danger. Not to mention, the administrative officers would be given the chance to have her head.

Quest Description

Time soon flied past as she dealt with the other three suspects. The next suspect was a rather cooperative man who answered her questions diligently, giving her precise details that she didn't ask for and would possibly be of no use but more often than not, he kept trying to shift her attention towards the other suspects. In the end, unable to find anything against him, she let him go although she was slightly suspicious of him.

The next suspect was an older woman with similar blonde hair that was on the verge of going grey. She stared at the blonde knight with such malice, not missing a single occasion to bash her dignity as a rune knight by trampling all over the reputation of the knights which even the blonde had to agree, wasn't particularly good. There were many people that looked up to the knights, seeing the as the protectors of Fiore but at the same time, there were many who only saw the knights as the toys of the higher ups who are only in existence to keep the citizens under control. Yet again, the female couldn't deny that claim but she still was slightly pissed off that these people talk as if they know everything without truly having a hint at reality but at the same time, she couldn't particularly blame them. The woman even went as far to blame the blonde and her fellow knights for the kidnapping but alas, she too had to be let go due to lack of evidence.

The last suspect that she had to deal with was just a worthless young man who didn't answer any of her questions precisely and simply insisted to be let go again and again, testing out her patience until she had to keep him rooted in his spot with glares. Alas, he too proved to be worthless as his lack of answers and insight yet again made the case inconclusive. Without wasting a second, she let all the suspects there and headed out to meet the lieutenant where she gave her report deeming three as inconclusive and two as innocent. Their personalities were vastly different and very difficult to handle hence it would be troublesome if any of them turned out to be the kidnapper. Marin simply thanked her for her assistance and then dismissed her before heading back inside. Heaving a sigh, she wondered if she had proved to be useful or not.

It was then that she heard the sound of crying. Her ears perked up as curiosity grabbed a hold of her, guiding her to the alleyways behind the restaurant. As she got closer, the crying got louder and the sound became more vivid and clear. Her eyes spotted a young child crouching and wailing. Recognizing the child as the young girl who had gone missing, the blonde gently approached her, wiping away her tears and asked her if she was lost to which the girl replied with a yes. She breathed a sigh of relief as there was no kidnapper. Bringing the girl back to Marin, the blonde simply explained the situation and the girl's identity only to find the lieutenant being filled with embarrassment as he apologized to everyone and handed the knight her reward.
