So, I'm a bit tad confused, but it might just be that I missed something.

I saw that when making new spells (from D-rank onwards) you have the ability to choose if you can pay for them or train them. But then I also saw that you could train only if you have "slots available". Does that mean that you can train only a limited amount of spells, and then you ll have to buy them?

It might have been worded confusing, we are sorting such issues out at the moment.

But there is a maximum on spell slots, that you can either buy or train depending on what you want. The ranking regulations show the amount of spell slots that you have:
