ManaHe looked at the run-down apartment buildings all around him, this part of the city was a mess but that's where he had to be due to the quest he accepted. As he was walking towards the location the usual smell of the area, which was quite unpleasant to say the least, had been replaced by a fragrant waft that could have only been cookies. The more Alfyn approached the apartment of the client the stronger was the smell and the more excited he was to taste those treats.
Following the smell he came upon an open door and realized it was the place in question. From the door step he saw an old lady sitting on an old armchair rocking back and forth who invited him inside with a smile and introduced herself. Alfyn walked in greeting her and introducing himself in return. With no time to waste, the woman started sharing with him a story of how she raised her son, how her parents were in another part of the country and had no one to turn to, she had to work two jobs in order to make ends meet but they were always happy and always together as much as possible. The woman broke into tears when she reminisced about the gift her son gave her one day, a small teddy bear for her to hug and always be reminded of him.
Alfyn managed to calm her down as she asked him for help to write a letter to her son, she didn't want to end up in a retirement home away from Mitya. He agreed and started writing down her words, filling the letter with all sorts of anecdotes as well, inside jokes between mother and son. That was quite heartwarming to the boy, it reminded him of his own parents. Now with the letter finished he left for the bar where the man worked in order to deliver it and have maybe have a conversation to make him rethink the situation.
