Kazimir Seiryu
Kazimir said his peace and stood sill. His life was at the mercy of the judges before him. A pressure wafted through the room. The judges convened in whispers and gazes. Hands swayed back and forth weighing the future between them. Kaz knew whatever they decided would set something in motion.

The judges turned back to face the wind mage. They all peered at the mage. Sweat beaded around some of their brows. No doubt hoping this would all go well.

"Kazimir Seiryu. Former Captain of the rune knights. Former guild master of phoenix feather and fairy tail. Your service to this country has not gone unnoticed. However you, the same as anyone. Must answer for the crimes of, murder, and aiding a murderer. Of abandoning the knights in service of Nerva. In light of your service, we do not sentence you to jail time.

kaz's eyes narrowed at the verdict. Unbelieving that after everything this was still the outcome.

He could see the hesitant looks on some of their faces. Whispers from the church and the knights were loud enough to hear. Kaz's history of violence be that controlled or not. That mixed with the talks of the good deeds he had done to serve the people. Th life that he put on the line for this country. He had almost always accepted the call to act. More so than others. And now they sentenced him...

kaz's stare turned icy cold. The disconnect with his emotions from being a vampire was bleeding through. for the first time, he looked at humanity not from the lens of a man to save them...but as different beings altogether. Perhaps it was because he was a vampire that they turned on him now. The church smiled with a sinister glean on their faces.

"You will wear mana-dampening handcuffs. You may still adventure but you will do so without your magic as that seems to be the cause of your past actions and we see it as uncontrollable."

"So that is your decision," Kaz said with annoyance laced in his words. A couple of rune knights approached. They hesitated as their steps got within a few feet of the wind mage. Each one looked back at the jury to find resolve. Their hearts were racing.

"It is for the best," the man in charge said and the church seconded that motion. It all made sense now. They were just pawns of the church. This hearing was never going to turn out in his favor. They had already decided his fate. The defense council stepped to the side and looked Kaz in the eyes, pleading for nothing to happen.

"You are all fools. You can not see that you have led a misguided existence. I have seen into the hearts of daemons and angels. I've seen the darkness that dwells within the church. And I have stepped before divinity. I will save you. Even if you don't understand." The church members jumped to their feet, mouths clinched in anger. Some yelled but their voices faded into obscurity as the wind mage didn't care.

The rune knights paused and then stepped forward.

Kaz lifted his hand and pointed it at them, "This will not go well for you. Do you really think you could bind me here?" He said as wind spiraled around him ready to vanish. A member of the court of mages threw his hand on the ground and a magic circle covered the whole room.

"You think we weren't ready for this," the woman said as Kaz's ability to teleport was negated.

"You. Have condemned yourselves," Kaz replied and turned to walk away. Knights jumped in the way of the door. "You were warned," he replied as swiped his hand to the side. Wind shot forth and slashed the two across the chest, bursting open their armor. They slammed against the ground.

"See! He is untamed! Violent! he has attacked the church and the government!" A priest howled. Kaz started to walk forward again when magic beams stabbed into the wall. The bleed together to form a barrier. From the beams, spikes protruded and threatened to impale the wind mage.

"So be it," Kaz spoke with solemn anger tempered in his voice. he dashed upward, dodging the spears, faster than any of them expected. The mages an knights cast spells to strike and bind him. Kaz dashed downward and struck one down after the next, leaving them unconscious on the ground.

"As you know it is hard for me to control the destructive nature of my magic. This won't end well," Kaz spoke and just as he finished an earth column burst from the ground and smashed him against a wall.

"You aren't going anywhere," A captain spoke. He stood alongside a high-ranking priest in the church. Together they held the earth pillar in place.

Kaz took a deep breath and clenched his fist. Wind erupted and shattered the earth column. His enemies staggered backward, seeing the power of a former wizard saint in action. "Ask yourself...why isn't illumin saving you now." Kaz threw his fist forward and engulfed the room in a raging tornado. Kngihts and church members were flung into the air as the tornado burst through the wall.

The knights drug themselves back up to their feet. Kaz walked out and felt pressure on his ankle. A knight was grasping onto his boot, trapped beneath the rubble. Kaz knelt down. The knights threw a punch, that Kaz easily caught before it struck him.

"Don't let the church keep manipulating you. There is more to the story. Ask questions," he said and struck the back of the man's head to knock him out. More guards started to pile in. The ruble exploded behind him as a court mage burst through with a defensive dome heaving the debris off.

They locked eyes as the other members of the court started to stand up and were next to him. Kaz rose his hand, "I have no more time for this," he said as another tornado ripped through the courtroom. The guards shared forward just as Ventus flew in the way and toppled them over. The wind elemental flew on ahead of Kazimir. The wind mage ran out of the room and down the hall.

Church knights and rune knights poured into the area. Only the higher-ranking ones had access this close to the court chambers. Kaz stood in the middle of them as he was surrounded.

The wind swirled around his body and it was almost as if a voice called out to him. Something bound and kept in the depths of secrecy. He looked around to see what it could be. The courtroom was adjacent to a locked armory of confiscated goods. Something was reacting to his magic. The guards charged forward and Kaz held out his hand. The wind spun out of control within it. Nothing was tempered about it instead of a blast of wind that came forth, the doors on the armory burst open. Two guards were carrying a heavily secured case, back from an expedition. The case glowed with energy and pink flower petals wafted from the case and around the wind mage. The petals solidified in his hands as a staff.

The court of mages screamed out, "NO! He has the staff of the sorcerer supreme."

Almost intuitively Kaz understood the weapon. Leaving the cursed sword behind, the wind mage grasped the staff and called upon its power. His eyes opened as he glared at the court of mages, "You will never bind me." He said and his body scattered into pink flower petals and carried him away through the building. He materialized on top of the building in a flurry of pink petals. He was free again and now on the run from them.
