Celes
Celes not knowing better, found himself visiting his Guild Hall in midst of a Raid. Not understanding why and how he tried to protect this place. Seeing that no reinforcement where coming he let Hector go free. Khal knocked Celes out cold. A promise, or at least a word that he would talk with him.
After waking up, Celes fought against Yuurei. Or at least he tried to spar, that was not much of a fight, but he had some fun while getting hit to unconsciousness again. That part he did not like.

After being knocked out cold for who knows how many hours Celes slowly wakes up. Like from an extended training session, his muscles where sore, especially around the area Yuurei hit him.
His eyes ,still a little groggy from the sleep, open to a bed and in an clinic like place. Celes looks around and sees that he is cuffed to the bad. Seems that they dont want him to leave so easily.

He pulls on the chains and Shouts out: Could someone unchain me, I want to speak to your Guild Master? These chains are totally unacceptable, at least get me something to eat. It's exhausting being knocked out for so long and so often back to back.Awaiting an answer he doesn't see a nurse or other medical stuff around. This place looks fresh and new, must either be a rich Guild or a new one. Celes would surely soon learn more about this place.
Looking for any tools he could somehow get rid of these chains, he doesn't like being chained to anything.

While awaiting someone's response he would think about his Guild. Why wasn't Jikan there, where is our guild master at? Why have the let some people attack us? Who are they? A lot of questions burn through his mind, while he awaits something to happen.

Khalfani †

The half elf of Sleeping Calamity was impatient and for good reason too. Being chained to a bed was never a good feeling or really just being restricted in general. Khalfani hadn't intended on doing anything more to the poor elf. He had already been beaten twice by two of the strongest mages in Paradise Dawn, anything else would be torture at that point. However, Celes was still an enemy. Whether Khalfani tolerated his determination and rowdiness or not, it was safer for the collective of Paradise to have Celes apprehended when the commander wasn't around. The Dragon Slayer casually walked through the door of the room Celes had been staying in, juice box in hand and a plate of food in the other. He wasn't heartless, just...cold. "Relax, relax, Celes." The rogue prince insisted as he stood at the end of his bed. The spices blended into the meats and mashed potatoes filled the room almost immediately.

"Here." Khal said as he walked to the side of Celes' bed, placing the food gently upon his lap and taking a seat in the chair beside him. "I just wanna talk. After you'll be free to go...or stay. Your choice." He said after slurping from his own juice box. "Is that alright with you?" He asked. Often times people were confused about Khalfani's actual intentions. He usually spoke so genuinely, but his tone was often cold and perhaps even off-putting.

Celes
Celes stops struggling since he knew the man himself was there, not that he could do anything if he wanted to. His curiosity was there and his appetite was also ever present. Celes almost started drooling over the food, like a hungry wolf over his pray. He shook his head and regained some form of composure. Khalfani was more or less keeping him still chained, Celes was still his enemy. Which of course, is understandable.

As Khal sat down and told him that he will be free, he got visibly more relaxed. Khal said he could stay, which gave him things to think about as well.
Celes takes a deep breath, exhales and then inhales again. I have many questions, but before I start im greatful for the food. As he smells the food that Khal brought him. It could be poisoned, but it wouldn't make sense if Khal put anything in the food. Celes looks up to Khal:You could ask me anything you want, I don't know our guild master, since you said he was such a bad person. But, I had to intercept, she would have done the same for me. Anyways, I'm alright with the terms guild master

Jikan would surely have protected Celeses guild if he had one. That's what he thought. Celes started to think, but quickly stopped himself and looked again at Khal:It's like you knew the place was deserted, would you have risked Hector's life if other powerful mages where there. Celes looks at Khal as he tried to get an reaction from him. It makes sense, otherwise he wouldn't risked the lives of the people.

*cough* Celes winces as the hit from Yuurei still hurt. He looks up at Khal expectations in his eyes. Celes wanted to know Khal better. He seemed like a nice guy with a hard shell, but that would be seen after this exchange.

Khalfani †

The godsblood turned his head as he listened to the Sleeping Calamity guild mage. He was obviously an outgoing personality, but genuine was something he hadn't expected from someone apart of a clearly dark guild. Celes thanked Khalfani for the food, finally relaxed, he was ready to talk. Before the Commander could ask any question Celes had opened up like a book. The elf didn't know who his guild master was and even referred to her as "She". Turns out Celes was more confused than Khalfani had initially assumed. The guild master of sleeping calamity wasn't a woman as far as he knew, but now he was curious just who "She" was. Celes was naive, that much was as clear as day. He assumed that Khalfani was the type of person to attack when it was convenient and not when it mattered most. The two circumstances could align but that wasn't always the case. Celes also didn't seem to understand that Paradise Dawn was a guild of fighters, warriors, soldiers and mercenaries. For them, everyday was a risk.

"Risked Hectors-" Khalfani paused to take a breathily sigh, sipping his juice before leaning back into the chair as his hands ran through his hair. "Everything is a risk, Celes, so yes. No matter who was there, Paradise Dawn would have rode out and destroyed your guild. The results would have been different and people probably would've died but the mission would have succeeded regardless." A cold tone slithered from Khalfani's mouth like a cobra, quick and bold as if his answer was the only one that made sense. It was true though, either way Sleeping Calamaity's guild hall would have perished. It was the only way he'd gain the favor of the people, keep the Knights away, and make way for Paradise's influence to expand. "I'm not sorry for taking you in. As commander, I have to make quick decisions and leaving you there would have been stupid of me. Either way, I hope you're healing well." He said dourly.

"You seem to know less about your own guild than I do. You referred to your guild master as "she" but my sources have revealed that your guild master is a man by the name of Ariael; a known predator...so who is this "She" you're referring to?"

She, huh Celes who during Khals talking ate all of the food on the plate, looks up and sayslet me answer your question with another question. Who do you know from "our" guildHe gives the word our a slightly different intonation, ever so lightly higher. Almost sarcastic. He only knew Jikan in person and probably other whom she talked about. She helped me a great deal, so im sadly obliged to not reveal her name.It seemed wierd, but he wanted to get rid of any potential threats. Not having a comparison, Celes didn't know who would be stronger, but his ber is always with Jikan. Contemplating, he thought about what Khal has said, his half elf ear perking up to the words and squeezing of the juice. Seems that Celes hit a nerve he shouldnt have. It seemed that Khal would have be willing to risk his weaker members in order to achieve his goal. He wasn't sure what to male of this, thou it was very intriguing.

You gave me a lot to think about and you are very intriguing. So how can you be so certian, if our guildmaster was there, im sure he would have dealt with you. But, it seems his ambitions are elsewhere placed. I wonder
He almost starts to wonder even more and more, he has to talk to Jikan about all of this
Celes would have let Khal finish speaking before returning to his turn. He understood his approach, he was at least kind enough to not let him sleep in the ruble. Celeses ears perk up again and he chuckles slightly But of course, I totally understand your decision, im greatful for not dying there. My ambitions wouldnt have been fruitful otherwise. His eyes narrow as the pain from the hits is still there As said, greatfull, but you two are beast in your own right. One day I shall be strong as you two. At least that's what he was hoping for. He tries to hold the bandaged area, but cant as the chains clank from being pulled tight. Celes looks up and motionsctowards the keyhole.

Ellia the Fortune-Teller
It was a great day to read fortunes. Ellia and her younger brother would usually set up their booths at markets while traveling around the world, however, she recently found out that a new Master had situated themselves in this region. Masters were usually generous and curious to find out about their future, so Ellia decided to visit him and find out if he was interested in her services.

“Hello!”

Ellia cheerfully twirled into the guild with her younger brother walking behind her and carrying her items. It took her a while to find the Master in the large building, but eventually, she succeeded. She immediately recognized the Master from the descriptions that she had heard about him and maneuvred herself towards him. Shamelessly, she grabbed the Master’s hands and interrupted his current conversation to conduct business.

“Good sir, do you want me to read your fortune for a small fee?!”

Khalfani †

Khalfani was just about to respond to Celes, he had many things to say but he mostly seemed to be curious about Khalfani's motives. As it stood he wasn't hostile so that was always good. As the two embraced each others company in the hospital room the door slowly pushed open. The guards hadn't allowed anyone to enter without Khalfani's command, so the young guild master was surprised to see a woman approach him... and with a kid nonetheless. The Dragon Slayer was on guard, naturally, but with his own comrades close by he was confident that this woman wasn't a threat. Maybe someone else who wanted to express their admiration for him? Yet, as she grew closer he felt...at home? It was hard to explain. The woman took his hand, her gentle hand lightly gripping his own before she dropped a question. A reading for a small fee? "You're..." he began before going quiet again. Was she a- "What's the fee?" He said coldly though it was obvious he was curious at least, almost as if he wasn't in control of his own body.

Khalfani †

Khalfani stared into the woman's eyes, his own eyelids dimming as he consulted with himself in the short time that passed. As a Desiertan, the one chosen by Amun-Ra himself, the piece to a puzzle he had yet to figure out, he believed in oracles and seers. In fact, some may argue that as the Grandson of the Pharaoh he was one. Perhaps it was for that reason going with his gut feeling would sway things in his favor. Perhaps he was just over-paranoid from everything he had endured. With a nod, he agreed to the conditions presented by the women. Not a smirk, a peep, a quiver of the eyes. Nothing. Yet, he was extremely nervous. "If this is some elaborate trick, I'll know." He said in his kindest tone. If this was a scam then he'd know it, but something told the Slayer that this wasn't a game. The mysterious woman was the real deal. "Alright." Was all he said, awaiting to see what would happen next. "We have a deal."

“Excellent!”

Ellia immediately let go of the Master's hands and signed her younger brother to set up the table and items.

“Don’t worry! I was trained as a child by the Nine Sands Seer of Desierto!”

The younger brother finished preparing the table along with two seats for both Ellia and the Master. Ellia quickly sat down and placed her right hand on the orb while extending her left hand towards the Master.

“Please sit down and tell me your full name while holding onto my hand.”

Khalfani †

"You were trained by The Nine?" Khalfani's eyes widened. A apart of him was in complete shock, but another part of him was relieved. He knew there was something prominent about this woman- mystical even. Truthfully, the Prince knew close to nothing about the Nine, only that whoever they were, they were the one of the closest beings to the gods. Nothing was capable of escaping their sight. Up until this point Khalfani had felt it to be a myth. The fact that this woman came to visit him was no coincidence. She was here for a reason and the more the Commander of Paradise thought about it, the more nervous he became. Had the gods been aware of his plot to face them one day? Was she sent to serve a message of warning? With a gulp Khal watched her little brother set up a table. When it was done he would move to the chair that was specifically placed at the table. The woman placed her hand onto the orb. Khalfani didn't dare to touch it. She extended her hand to take his own. Khalfani gave it to her. There was nothing more for him to say except for "Khalfani Atenhotep." His silver eyes watched hers. Even if she was who she said she was, that ain't mean she didn't want him dead.

Ellia the Fortune-Teller
“Yeah, Old Nine Sands, a wandering Seer in Desierto!”

Ellia proudly answered. It took Ellia months of stalking him as a child till the crazy coot gave in and started to teach her his mysticism.

“Let’s begin, Khalfani Atenhotep.”

Suddenly, Ellia's right hand and the orb started to glow as they resonated with each other.

“I see many riches awaiting you in your future. Though, you seem unhappy despite your riches.”

Ellia closed her eyes and tried to focus on certain threads that presented themselves.

“Eventually, you will find happiness due to some achievement that you will accomplish. Unfortunately, the happiness won’t last. You won’t be satisfied with your success after a while. Your happiness will slowly fade over time.”

Not uncommon for those with great ambitions. Ellia didn't want to discourage Khalfani though and tried to reassure him that things could change.

“Destiny is not set in stone. I can see that you shoulder too many burdens as a young Master. You need to remember that you can’t solve everyone’s problems. And you need to remember that it’s okay to be happy. Greatness awaits, but happiness is up to you.”

The fortune-teller suddenly stopped. Something didn’t add up. She had prepared the lines in orb correctly to read Khalfani’s future but the fortune had all of a sudden changed completely.

“I see… I see…”

She hesitated to continue as she started to question herself. Something that she hadn’t done in decades since she was a simple acolyte serving under Nine Sands Seer.

“I see you adorned in gold. I see a gold staff in your hand, a golden eye where your eye is currently placed, and a golden talisman resting around your neck. In your possessions, you have a gold key and a gold box. I see a sea of red beneath you. Your feet are red from walking through the blood of man and gods. I see you sitting on a large throne that you usurped from your own blood. I-”

The lines. They were different.

“This doesn’t make any sense,” she screamed.

The lines indicated that she was reading the threads of the past instead of the future.

“Did you do all of this? Tell me now! Did you murder your own family?”

Khalfani †

It was truly Khalfani's hope to experience something even more magical. He was seduced by a surge of energy. Perhaps the sphere lit up and projected some part of his future. If it did, he was unable see what this seer could see. How disappointing. he thought. Even with his god-like eye, he could only see within the world he inhabited. He demonstrated superb ability, but it was not enough if he was to triumph over the gods and escape from predetermined destiny. The commander remained emotionless as the oracle spoke. The oracle first assured him that he would become wealthy. That was nothing new. He didn't want the gold- at least not in the way other people may have wanted it, but it was his thanks to his royal title. His access to money was unavoidable. Khal's own eyes lowered as the woman continued, nearly squinting as she spoke. Nevertheless, she reassured him that in his future he would find success, even if he were not going to be happy. Funnily enough, he wasn't satisfied now, even having built Paradise Dawn.

Although he was unhappy, he was..happy enough. Sadly, that wasn't to last. As the prince learned he was nothing more than a favored toy of the gods, he became increasingly suspicious of fate, and this he believed to be the core of his discontent. He tried desperately to flee who he was, but he couldn't, and so he quickly learned that in fact fate existed, but that it was in fact the gods who had given him and those they looked down on fortunes that stole more than they gave. Because of that, he began to worry about the Seer's next words. With every word, his fate seemed to darken. Words of encouragement, however, came first. While Khalfani was only eighteen, he had taken on responsibilities most mortals wouldn't dare try. "Oh.. is that all?" he began before realizing her face was twisting Could there be more? What else could she possibly see? What else that Khalfani couldn't? Anticipating what came next caused the Dragon Slayer to sweat profusely. Initially, the oracle described a powerful Pharaoh followed by a sea of blood, but what followed was what even it refused to reveal out loud.

Could he really kill his own flesh and blood? At first Khhalfani could not believe what he had heard. As he reflected for a moment, he realized that he was actually capable of imagining it. It occurred to him that he would kill anyone to free his people...even himself. But despite the turmoil, the commander still wanted to know what else there was. In fact, he craved to know. While she questioned him, that dead look in his eyes had vanished. Suddenly, his moonlit eyes were filled with life for the first time in months. He looked like a completely different man. "I did not murder anyone." He grunted, slightly tightening his grip on the woman's hand. "Continue," he replied, breathing heavily, sweating, scared, yet ecstatic above all else. Whose life was it if this wasn't his?

Ellia the Fortune-Teller
She tried to maintain her composure but the tone in the fortune teller’s voice clearly indicated that she was scared.

“I see death and carnage. I see you… and you. ”

The fortune-teller wondered if she could perhaps pinpoint Khalfani’s lines again to recalibrate her reading. She stepped outside of her body to traverse along the lines of destiny and find Khalfani’s thread. As she told Khalfani, destiny was not set in stone, however, it couldn’t explain the odd results of her reading.

There, among the many lines, she found Khalfani’s thread. Though, as she grabbed it, the thread began to unravel into multiple smaller threads. She shouldn’t be able to read this, she thought to herself. It was something that the Seer had talked about when she was younger. The threads of other lives. As she hovered above Khalfani’s body in her astral form while holding onto the thread by pinpointing it, one of the other threads reacted to her presence again.

Suddenly, she was floating in a large hall. There were large pillars and tall openings that acted as windows on both sides. As she looked outside, she realized that she was in Desierto. Though, it was a Desierto that she couldn’t recognize. She had been there many times, but this was not the Desierto that she knew.

“What are you doing here?”

Ellia turned around and noticed someone sitting on a throne high above the stairs. She then slowly looked around to find out who the boy might be talking to in order to assess the situation better, however, there was no one else in the hall.

“I don’t like to repeat myself. What are you doing here?”

Ellia’s heart would’ve pounded out of her chest if she wasn’t in her astral form. She was scared beyond belief for it quickly became clear to her that the boy was talking to her. It wasn’t possible to detect an astral body traversing through the astral planes, but somehow the boy was aware of her presence. Right now, she was not in the past nor the future. She was in the here and now. A present that was not her own.

As she looked up to try to see the boy sitting on the throne above the countless steps, she could only see the silhouette of a serpent that rose above the throne behind him. She couldn’t even try to fathom the size of the gargantuan beast for she had never seen anything like it before. It was larger than the pyramids of Desierto, larger than the palaces in Fiore, and even larger than the spires in Midi.

It was then that the boy’s patience had run out.

He stood up from his throne and walked down the steps towards the fortune-teller. Fear had consumed Ellia completely. She was incapable of escaping by returning to the lines of destiny.

“Impossible…,” the fortune-teller whispered in fear.

As the boy stood up, she realized that the serpent and the boy were one and the same. The serpent became the boy as he walked the steps. Ellia wasn’t going to stay around to find out what the boy wanted. She was sure that this encounter would lead to her death. Instead, she decided to burn her astral body to eject herself from the astral plane back into her body.

It was a last resort that would take away her powers to read the lines of destiny for a long time, if not permanently. Death, however, wasn’t worth her curiosity.

As she returned to her body, the orb shattered in her right palm and cut her deeply. She started to violently cough up blood while pulling her left hand out of Khalfani’s hand to hold onto the table. Ellia’s younger brother quickly ran towards her to comfort her.

“Young Master, the veil is thinning. Someone is playing around with forces that shouldn’t be messed with. I’m afraid we’re all in danger.”

There was much more that she wanted to share, but the whole ordeal had taken its toll on her. Before she passed out, her younger brother caught her and carried her over his shoulder. He twirled his finger to place all their belongings in a bag which he then threw over his other shoulder.

“Sorry about this all, sir. Forgive my sister. I’m sure that she didn’t intend to upset you, however, her readings are always accurate. I don’t know what’s coming, but it’s best for you to prepare yourself,” the boy said as he left with his sister.

As Celes was about to get answers, he was rudely interrupted by some other visitor. Not knowing how long this would take it seemed that Celes would have to wait. It took longer then expected for Khal to return. Left to his devices Celes took the fork from the plate he ate and decided that his restraints where a little bit to tight. He took the fork between his mouth and used his teeth to bend the ponty end, thus allowing him easier entry into the locking mechanism. Feeling for the pins he slowly unlocked chains with a slight *tink* sound.

After freeing himself from the restraints, he looked around for anything. Searching for a little bit he found a doctors cloak and put that on to confuse the guards for the second.
His curiosity was still not satisfied, thus he bursted through the door like he owns the place. Looking for Khal he starts walking around aimless. If the guards start chasing him he would go into a sprint and use his spells to change directions.

Khalfani was surprised about the events that unfolded. One minute he was sitting, allowing the oracle to read his palm and his future...the next minute he was blanked out and in a completely different space mentally. The Oracle was quiet for a while. She hadn't been saying anything, but the commander simply assumed that she was searching for something until finally she returned to the earthly realm, revealing that the veil was thinning? She said that they were all in danger, but what did that mean? Did that include Khalfani himself despite the vision being about him? Suddenly the woman began coughing up blood. Immediately the Lion stood up. "We have medics on stand by let m-" Khalfani began before the little boy came to his sisters rescue. It seemed that they had other plans. This whole Ordeal left Khalfani confused. He needed...answers. Forgetting all about Celes, Khalfani left the building swiftly. There are things that he needed to figure out.
