Hunter

Hunters fight against supernatural beings to protect normal people from harm. They typically pursue the path of the Hunter out of necessity, or simple revenge. Perhaps a Demon slew one of their relatives, or a Vampyre rules their hometown with a cold fist. Their personalities vary in terms of how they view the supernatural. Some believe that every Vampyre must be slain, while there are a few Hunters out there that believe that not all of them are necessarily evil. There is a general consensus though that Demons got to go.

Most Hunters have a good physical condition suitable for hunting, and possess an extensive knowledge of the supernatural as well. Hunters are skilled fighters, proficient with firearms and daggers. When weapons are scarce and they are in a dangerous situation, they use hand-to-hand combat or whatever is available as a weapon.

They also appear to be proficient trackers and possess prudent tactical skills and an instinctive ability to "read" behavioral characteristics and manipulate people. In addition, they need to be virtuosos of escape, evasion, and silent movement, when the situation requires subtlety and stealth, such as surprise attacks. Hunters possess a large amount of weaponry they can purchase, as they need to be practical enough so they can easily adapt to the different situations they may face and the creatures they may encounter. Depending on the enemy, they use weapons and other items that weaken and kill them.

Spell Types

  • Normal: Offensive, Supplementary, Defensive, Self-Buff

Feats

Fearless Hunter: Fear, as used by Daemons, Nephilims, and Liches, for example, does not affect the user.
Slayer Access: Hunters receive a 20% discount on all Slayer magics, as well as items that offer advantages versus Vampires, Werewolves, Daemons, Nephilim, or Liches.
Off-Hand Slot: Hunters may wield a Hunter weapon in their Off-Hand slot.

Specializations

  • Strider: Users have further access to perks offered in the Weapon Mastery section allowing them to unlock additional weapon slots as they progress in rank, Striders may only use their additional slots for hunter-based weapons that they have mastered in. This effect does not stack with other effects that provide additional weapon slots.

  • Stalker: Stalker adopt some of the features of the creatures they hunt allowing them to see as their prey does allowing them to see perfectly in the dark and sense those who have been inflicted by various dark influences such as those who are vampires, werewolves, daemons, etc within 50 meters. Stalkers rely upon potions which can be purchased as pouch items in the shop. Stalkers may possess a total of 5 potions, these may consist of multiple of the same type.

  • Trapper: The user may lay down binding spells in an area of effect that can impact multiple targets including companions, with the exception of the user. The user’s binding spells are considered one rank higher and require the target to have a strength and intelligence higher than the user in order to break through the binding as though it did not exist. This also applies to the Bind on Hit enhancement.
