Poropo's job today was to infiltrate a different criminal syndicate going by the name Bear Claw! This was not a normal criminal organization - Bear Claw was a registered 'legal' guild which did anything other than legal deeds. The monk had to infiltrate as a potential new member and figure out what was happening inside!

The rumor the Hosenka Authorities were tipped off about was Bear Claw's involvement with Pandora. The connection was loosely tied to a weapon Bear Claw purchased from Pandora, but this was enough to connect Bear Claw to the underground world at least. Poropo would need to be a potential new member and find out what this weapon was, what the weapon was going to be used for, and anything else about Bear Claw's involvement with the underground world!

"Hello, I am a new member...I think - someone said something about 'potential new member' but I was under the assumption I had joined," said the monk to a member of Bear Claw standing guard. The monk was disguised as a generic magician who may or may not be able to use magic. The truth was simple - Poropo's magic was taken away by the Iron Deity after his bout with Nadine, a Contract Hunter.

Poropo was let into the guild by the Bear Claw member standing guard outside the relatively grand Guild Hall of Bear Claw - this place seemed large for a relatively unknown magic guild, at least to the ignorant Poropo. Not all guilds had to have large guild halls, but the monk assumed a guild would need to be popular in order to afford their own guild hall, especially such a grand one. The monk decided to ask, "I heard of this guild from an associate...how come you have such a large guild hall but so...few members?" The Bear Claw Guild Hall did look emptier than the monk had anticipated - despite the size of the hall, the actual number of members was sparse. No more than ten members were visible from the view of the entrance and this number did not increase as the monk was lead further around.

"Nothing to worry about, potential new recruit - you just make yourself comfortable and I'll fetch the guild master for you," said the guard as he left the monk in the middle of the Bear Claw Guild Hall. The monk was not alone, but he certainly wanted to be if he was to complete his investigation. For now, the monk had to do as he was told.

The monk was left with at least seven to ten other members of Bear Claw - the monk was disguised as not himself but he still felt he could be ousted at any moment if he was not careful. Poropo decided to introduce himself to the watching members of Bear Claw while waiting for the Guild Master of Bear Claw to arrive, "hello...my name is...Toroto Totrotort..." The other members remained dead silent after the monk introduced himself. Nobody seemed keen on letting a new member into the guild and the monk did not know why - this place did not seem exclusive since he was let in, but perhaps they already knew the monk was trying to spy on them!

The monk attempted to ease the tension in the room by telling everyone about himself, "...um...I am here to be a new member - can anyone here let me know what being a Bear Claw member is like?" A wave of silence hushed the monk again - this crowd of around ten members from Bear Claw was pushing the monk further into the depths of despair. If he did not find a way to break the ice soon, he would be put in ice for daring to exist within the sacred hall of Bear Claw!

"Don't mind them - they are just testing your resolve. Sorry for taking so long to change - my name is Heinrich Bearmound. You can just call me Heinrich if you want - you said your name was Tort?" said the guard from earlier - apparently this guard of the Bear Claw guild was also the Guild Master! Poropo was stunned by the idea of the Guild Master taking on so many duties, but the monk thought about Kazimir as all the responsibilities he decided to take over. Kazimir seemed to be everywhere at once and the monk could not fathom how! Regardless, the monk tried not to be too surprised in order to seem tough.

"Ah...I had a feeling...could I get a tour of this place? I want to be sure this is the guild I think it is," responded the monk meekly - the monk wanted to be humble while still gaining valuable information, so asking for a tour was the best the monk could do.

"The tour will have to wait - we are the ones putting our necks on the line by accepting a new member...show us what you can do," explained Heinrich as he took a seat and waited for the monk to do something worth Bear Claw's time.

The monk started to break out in a cold sweat - to prove he was worthy of being part of a criminal guild meant showing off magic, more than likely, which meant the monk would not be able to prove himself! Poropo looked around at the eleven members of Bear Claw present and hoped his plan with the Hosenka Authorities would come to fruition without a hitch, "Yes, I will prove myself right here...right now..."

The monk stretched a little bit and felt around in his disguise for something special which he promptly pulled out and showed off, "this is the Book of Narsak...or something - an important book which I stole from the Hosenka Treasury." The monk waddled over to the seemingly stunned Heinrich who took the book with shocking curiosity and disbelief.

"How did you..." the Guild Master of Bear Claw was more than just stunned but in true disbelief! The monk was able to prove his worth without the use of magic, but how much further this book could help him was yet to be seen. Heinrich continued while handing the book to a different member of Bear Claw, "well...I guess you just gotta show us the magic you used to get it, hah hah hah!"

"Hah hah hah! That is a secret for if I show my magic then my magic will not work," responded Poropo, pouring sweat from his thick pours - Heinrich, the Guild Master of Bear Claw which had ties to a criminal organization called Pandora which Poropo had investigated already, wanted to know about how the monk got a hold of the same book which Pandora had wanted so badly. The monk did not know what to say other than he needed to keep things a secret, "you all know how such magic works, no?"

The monk was out of options and just had to be blunt - he did not want to share what his magic was capable of because even he did not know! He was not given any spells upon being forcefully switched to another magic by the Iron Deity! The monk just had to tell the truth and not share his magic, hoping to the Iron Deity Heinrich and the other Bear Claw members did not want to know anymore.

Heinrich spoke up, "I see how it is...alright, you can keep your magic a secret, if you even have any, heh heh! I personally do not have any magic either - I use this magical item to do magical things for me."

Poropo had a feeling he knew what magic item Heinrich would pull out - the same magic weapon which was purchased from Pandora before Pandora fell to the Hosenka Authorities thanks to the spying work of Poropo. A moment after saying he would pull out his magical device, Heinrich stopped and said, "actually, I'll just give you a little hint - I can explore whatever I want with this thing. Only fair if I keep my magic a secret if you do the same." Heinrich made a good point which put the monk off a little - the monk was here to figure out what the magic weapon did, but this seemed like sufficient enough information, partially. The monk still needed to know about what Bear Claw was like as a criminal organization.

"Ok, so I guess I am a member of Bear Claw now?" asked Poropo in a more confident tone - he was sure bringing the Book of Narthrak would be enough to satisfy his entry into Bear Claw. Heinrich looked at the other ten member of Bear Claw, who all nodded, and looked back to Poropo.

"Yeah, I think you made yourself worth keeping - welcome to Bear Claw. We collect things here and that book is the perfect addition to our collection."

Heinrich then got up and started putting his hand on Poropo's back in order to guide him around the Guild Hall of Bear Claw - the monk was happy he was accepted so easily, more or less. Getting the Hosenka Treasury to give up the Book of Nalrum a second time was definitely tricky. Anyway, the monk willingly let himself be guided by Heinrich's stern hand while saying, "thank you so much for the opportunity...I am glad to be able to...add to the collection...yes, the collection of powerful magical things."

"You seem to know us well, Tort - or maybe you just have a keen insight. I started this guild in order to collect all sorts of things, not just magical things. However, stealing anything was not enough and I expanded this guild to trade and sell magical items - that is why this guild hall is so great!" exclaimed Heinrich with much pride - he was proud to collect things, even if they were stolen! The monk became a little unnerved by Heinrich's disregard for ownership - from the monk's perspective, if something was interesting to Heinrich then something was worth taking. The rest of Bear Claw must have felt the same way if they ended up joining as Poropo did.

Poropo was lead all throughout the Bear Claw Guild Hall and even given a peek as to where the Book of Nulfrim would be kept - the vault was large, from what little the monk could see, and the collection was even larger! Bear Claw seems to be collecting only the best magical goods while selling the magical devices they deem otherwise worthless to their cause. Poropo came here with the intention to discover the motives of Bear Claw and what the magic weapon from Pandora was capable of - the monk has therefore satisfied the conditions of his assignment and decided to leave, "thank you again for showing me around...I will be on my way now - I need to earn some money doing normal things, hah!"

"Right, go be a normal person out of here, but you can let yourself free in here whenever you feel like it, Tort," responded Heinrich. The Guild Master of Bear Claw did not seem able to pronounce the fake name 'Toroto Totrotort' which was a familiar feeling. However, 'Tort' was not close enough to truly make Poropo happy with the fake name he gave himself. Regardless, the monk was able to leave with the information he had gathered and headed back to the Hosenka Authorities in order to earn a heap of rewards.
