"This way to the arena, Kind Monk - I'm sure you'll beat him easily," said Tyler to Poropo who were heading towards a boxing arena. The monk was not a fighter, but he needed to sharpen his skills nonetheless - with a high Contract on his head the monk was aware people would be hunting him down relentlessly! On their way to the arena, Poropo wondered to himself how this boxing would take place. The monk had no clue and therefore asked the youth, Tyler, to explain the rules to him.

"How do you box? I have no idea," admitted Poropo to the youth. Tyler seemed upset by the monk's confusion, but decided to explain out of worry more than frustration.

"Well...you just punch until your opponent stops punching - simple enough..." responded Tyler as plainly as possible. The monk could tell something was off when Tyler wanted to say more.

"Is there something else I should know?" asked Poropo in a curious manner - Tyler was definitely holding back information for some reason and the monk wanted to know why. However, the information the monk wanted was likely related to hiring a mage to do a warrior's job - the monk was curious why he was hired despite his reputation billing him as "kind".

As the duo of Tyler and Poropo finally got to the arena, the monk was shocked by all the serious cheers and whoops coming from the crowd - fighting for fun seemed to be a past time for a lot of people! The monk approached the arena slowly to see a large man with thick muscles fighting a relatively normal person - the fight was over within a few punches thrown by the hulk of a man. The monk was hoping the person Tyler wanted Poropo to fight was not the muscular man, "Who am I fighting again? Not him, right?"

Tyler looked confused at the monk as if asking something dumb or ignorant, "um...did you not read what I wrote? You are fighting the current champion - that's him right there." The monk had tried to read the job description but Tyler had horrible handwriting - at one point the monk believed he would be part of a wine-tasting competition, but Tyler quickly explained the true job description upon first meeting with Poropo.

Just as always, the monk started sweating just thinking about what to do against such a large, muscular man in a fight! He seemed to be doing more than throwing punches, which was odd considering Tyler's earlier explanation of "boxing" - the monk checked in with Tyler one more time, "...alright, but are you sure he is the current champion? He threw some kicks, too."

Tyler curled his fists in anger and explained the entire purpose of the job, "...yeah...he's a dirty cheater who doesn't deserve to be the champion - I want the old champion back, but he feels too disgraced even though his opponent, that guy, cheated...so I need you to get the champion's belt back for me...please..." The plea from Tyler at the end of his long explanation let Poropo know this was a serious job for a serious monk.

Poropo looked to Tyler and said with confidence, "I will do more than get back the belt - I will make sure the current champion feels just as disgraced as the old one, but I will be better by not cheating." Tyler looked to Poropo with hope in his eyes for the first time - when first meeting Poropo and seeing what the Kind Monk looked like, Tyler was not hopeful in the slightest. However, Tyler knew a mage was only allowed to get a reward by completing the job so there was no risk for Tyler other than seeing the current champion, a cheater, keep winning a little longer - if not Poropo, then whoever accepted the job next.

Poropo was penciled into the scheduled matches for the day by Tyler as "The Kind Monk" in order to try and strike fear into the current champion's heart, but the obvious outcome was a bought of laughter when Poropo's epithet was announced, "HAH HAH HAH! Kind monk!? HAH! Come over here, big guy - Let's see if you can live up to your name while I pummel you!" The current champion was announced using the name "Rodric" which suggested he hadn't been here long enough to make a proper name for himself despite being the current belt-holder.

Poropo stepped into the arena without his robes, handing them off to Tyler instead - the topless monk showed off the numerous piercings decorating his entire body, essentially showing his pain tolerance to the current champion. Granted, the monk was in great pain for many months while piercing himself once a day for dozens of days - the swelling from the first piecing wasn't even gone by the time the last piercing had tunneled through his soft skin. However, the truth was not know to Rodric who just laughed at seeing the monk come into a makeshift boxing arena without having defined muscles, "HAH HAH HAH! I knew you'd look funny but not THIS funny! HAH!"

However, the battle against Rodric was surprisingly easy for Poropo - having escaped the clutches of evil organizations more than once had granted the monk a sense of awareness to danger. Whenever Rodric came in for one of his signature punches, the monk just stepped out of the way. The constitution of Rodric was far lower than Poropo's - the muscular man could barely breath by the time he swung his last punch. One the other hand, Poropo had the stamina to outpace Rodric and then finish the battle with a simple punch to Rodric's once-laughing face. Poropo took the belt off of Rodric and then gave the belt to Tyler, "Give this to the real champion for me...after you give me my reward, hah hah hah!"
