Letter To You [solo] Empty Mon May 03, 2021 5:27 am

Venus Rosé

The night rides in on a horse of pure midnight velvet, beckoned by the stars under the glow of a full moon. As the colours of the day rest, perhaps dream of the morrow, the hillside becomes its monochrome beauty. Mayhap, it was the sky that was of black tranquillity married to a poetry of stars and night came as a reward of sorts, a restfulness above to calm her soul as she lifted the feather tip dipped in black ink and let her fingers lead themselves across a brown parchment paper sprawled open on her desk.

My dearest biscuit,

It seems that we might have to remain apart for a while longer. By the time you receive this letter, I will have departed Fiore, for I have decided to set out on a long journey to travel across Earthland and discover the foreign lands. I’d have loved to have your perky bum alongside me as a travel companion but I suppose that will have to wait – when we’ve reunited again, perhaps. While I know we will again be together, my heart yearns for you every day, and I hope you are not in as much utter misery as I am without you. Until I can see you and be within your grasp again, you will remain omnipresent in my dreams.

Your rose

Her eyes glossed over the words engraved onto the paper, written ever so gracefully. The young mistress folded the paper over its neat valleys before sliding it into an envelope, tinted with rose berries perfume and stamping it with her seal. She’d hand it over to the pigeon lurking by the window pane, almost as if it was waiting for her letter to be completed. ”Clever one, there you go.”

She watched the pigeon snag the letter beneath its claws and soared over the skies, until it disappeared into the shadow of the night, with only but a single wish that the letter would be delivered to the single person that lingered on her mind.

{ EXIT }
