Heavy raindrops hit the tin roof of the little cafe where a few people hid from the storm. Constantine was one of those people with his back against the wall and a cup of tea in his hands. His life had been a peaceful one but he needed to settle down and put a halt on his nonstop traveling. The world was a very big place and he knew there was much more to explore, but alas he was tired. Taking a sip of the hot tea the weary man picked up the book in front of him. Someone had hand delivered it a few days ago and he had yet to open the thing. "Well..Now seems a good time.. "

He was greeted with a face full of dust as he flipped the book open. Letting the air clear a little he called the waitress over for a new cup of tea as his had far too much dust in it to be drinkable. Flipping through the pages he realized that he didn't understand a word of what was said in the book. It was all symbols and such with no way for him to decipher it currently. " Damn...Guess I'll have to do some research. " Closing the book he waited for his tea as he stared out the window waiting for the rain to stop.

Marwyn loved the rain. It was great and almost like a free shower. Though she would rather have an actual shower. When the rain began to fall she smirked as people ran for shelter, she did not run from what the earth created and continued to make her way down the street until she came upon a little shop. Since being in Myras she learned many different things about the city. Her favorite thing to learn was where the good foods were. Walking into the shop she slicked back her hair and took a seat next to a man with white hair and brown skin. He looked pretty handsome but she could tell he was human, which was just a shame in her opinion.

Waving down the waitress she ordered herself some tea and honey cakes. The waitress took her order and she was left alone, well not alone but she might as well had been. Looking around her eyes landed on the book in front of the man. The words on the front of it were Elvarin. She wondered how the man came across such a book and she did not waste time speaking on it. " Where did you get that book? "

Curiosity was eating away at him as he really wanted to know what was in the book. He would have to go to different libraries probably in order to get some answers. He thought he would have been settling down but it looked like he was tasked with something, but he could only imagine what that was. Running his hand over the book reveled more dust this time on his hands but under that dust was gold lettering in a language that matched the ones inside the book. Calling the waitress over and asking for some sort of moist rag his request was quickly fulfilled. Cleaning off the book from the caked on dust would produce a dark green book with wonderfully crafted decor in gold just like the lettering. He was amazed he had not noticed this before and almost didn't see the waitress placing his tea down which would have caused him to knock it over. As he inspected the book a woman sat down next to him and asked him about the book. It was a simple question but as he looked at her he could tell she was an elf. Maybe she knew the language. " It was given to me awhile back. If you can decipher it or at least help me I'll pay you. " Dropping a bag full of jewels on the table he thought it wise to show her he was not messing around.

She was suspicious about why he had a book that was clearly not meant for human eyes but she would humor him. Since he was paying her she decided that it would be best to " help " this stupid human for his own sake. He shouldn't be messing with things outside his scope of expertise. She didn't think he would pay her first but it was a surprise when he dropped the jewels in front of her. Plucking the bag from the table she would count what was inside before pocketing the money. " Alright. I'm not going to make it easy for you.. Meet me in the Silver District. There is a library there where I can help you with deciphering the book. Meet me there in an hour and don't be late, I hate people being late. " She smiled at the man and at that moment her tea and honey cake arrived. Quickly eating her snack and drinking the warm liquid she made her exit. She wasn't about to meet this man ever again, because she was going to do what all smart people do, and that was using him like the human trash that he was.

So he was right. She could help him. Now he could finally see what was inside of this book and possibly uncover who sent it to him and why. The pieces were set but she made it clear that he would have to work for the answers. This made him think she would teach him the language rather than just read the book to him. He was fine with this and he actually preferred it. This way in the future he would know it if he ever came across it ever again. He agreed to meet with the woman in an hour but he felt like he probably shouldn't trust someone he just met and gave money to. Was he so out of touch with the world and so thirsty for knowledge that he was about to possibly get taken advantage of? He didn't want to think about that and quickly finished his tea. The rain had stopped long after the girl had left and he really hopped he would see her at the library. Packing his things up he paid the waitress for his tea and quickly headed out towards his destination. Hope in his heart to get to the bottom of this
