The red-haired hunter had decided to visit the village once again, after her last encounter with Cameron where she helped out the poor lad by saving his village from the human-hunting werewolf. Despite how Venus wasn’t much of a people’s person, she bonded with the villagers rather easily and as a savior of their village, she was rewarded with lots of affection from the civilians, treating her with food and shelter for free: of course, she couldn’t refuse the offer. More so, she found herself even attached to them as if it was they were a family of hers – a distant relative, perhaps – and could be seen by her frequent visits to check on them.

It seemed that peace and tranquillity of the village didn’t last that long, when Venus found herself in the middle of a commotion that had broken out in the main square. Her immediate reaction of seeing another werewolf within the town was a quick flex of her hand to reach for her blade, but if she had not been any more perceptive, she would notice how the creature displayed no signs of aggression or threat towards the humans even despite having rocks thrown at him.

Perplexed, the woman approached the scene, breaking into the crowd and the townsfolk would cease their assault. ”What’s going on?”

The werewolf turned to look at her, she could sense that he was different from the other werewolf and perhaps it was her sixth sense telling him that this werewolf was kind. Unbelievable, she thought. After all, they were animals; creatures without a soul or a heart, unlike humans – how would they understand empathy.

”I just wish to speak to the person who was wounded by the rogue werewolf the other day and the one who defeated him.”

It was no longer a surprise to her to see that even werewolves had the ability to communicate in the same language as humans – most of all, this was a country of magic.

When the werewolf requested for her audience alongside Cameron’s, the crowd would look at them both and Cameron would reveal himself hidden amongst the villagers. The man would look at the werewolf, taking in his werewolf features carefully before he nodded at the creature. Venus raised one of her eyebrows. For a man who had just gotten deeply wounded from the werewolf the other day, he seemed fearless facing him. Perhaps Cameron knew this animal, she thought, silently following Cameron’s lead as he directed them into his house.

The woman would seat herself onto a vacant couch, without bothering to ask for any permission as she propped up her legs onto the table. There were always two sides to Venus; an elegant, sophisticated woman or a crude one and depending on her attitude, those who encounter her are bound to experience one of her many personalities.

And so, the werewolf began explaining his story about how his brother – the evil werewolf – was in control of the reins of their wolf pack. ”Amarok had challenged me to take up the leader position of our wolf clan. He was greedy, and I discovered he cheated and won against me to become the alpha wolf.”

The werewolf paused and paced around the room as if it were a human. ”We have to stop him, otherwise him and the rest of the wolves will attack the village again and you won’t see the light of the day anymore.” Achak looked at Cameron dead in the eye and she could hint how earnest he was and the solemnity in his eyes.

”Okay, how do we stop him then?”

Venus finally broke the silence that engulfed around them for a brief moment. It seemed Cameron was hesitant in his decision, but Venus would be there to support him.

”Since you’re the one who has killed one of his men the previous time, you have the experience of battling against a werewolf. That gives you the right to challenge him again, even if you’re not one of us.”

A sly smirk slowly crawled onto the line of her cupid-bow lips as she sunk into the couch. ”Well, that’s a deal. I better gain something out of this.” The siren pushed herself up out of the seat and glared at the werewolf. Venus was a thief – a pickpocket to be exact – and she wasn’t an entirely good person either; she wouldn’t be helping others if there was nothing to gain out of it. That’s just how business worked, she thought to herself.

”I’ll get everything prepared for you, for your fight against Amarok. Give me a—“

”That’s fine. I have my own equipment to handle him – it should be enough. Tell me everything else I should know; his abilities, the details of the battle,” She waved her hand dismissively in the air, emphasizing the important points of her sentence.

”Amarok is very strong, even stronger than me perhaps, but I’m positive you can defeat him. I’ve heard wonders about you from the rest of the wolves who came to hunt down the village the other day, and your fire sword. I’m hoping you’ll have a few tricks up your sleeve.” The werewolf even complimented her and honestly, she found him resembling more towards a loyal dog rather than a werewolf. ”For the fight, we’ll be travelling to our camp since we’re challenging him – I hope you don’t mind.”

The redhead would shake her head in response as she registered the important points in her head whilst she checked on her equipment. ”Does he have any weaknesses I should know about?” The werewolf hesitated in thought for a moment before beginning his speech once again, ”I can’t point that out exactly since I’m not fully aware of it, but he’s a sly one – it’s very likely he might retreat to his malicious tricks if you were winning the battle, so watch out for that one.”

The frost mage folded her arms across her bosom and nodded, ”Alright, I think I’ve got all the information I needed. I’ll see you on the day of the battle.” With the gathered details, Venus decided to return to her abode to plan on her strategy.
