Noyiah Dashi
Quest Details :

Noyiah sits quietly behind her desk, checking off boxes and signing the forums, before he lifts a paper and reads it. “hmm” she ponders for a moment before putting it down and then standing up to head to the window of her office.  Looking down into the pier she nods softly.  “I guess I can look into this one personally” she said aloud to no one in particular.  Shaking her head slightly, what were the odds she was still scared for the depths.   After all she had to push herself to be better, if not for herself then the people.  A necessary precaution, even if it was a hoax.  She walked over to her book shelve and pulled a few books off and placed them in her bag, after all she wanted to identify the creature if it was real.  Making sure she had all she needed in her bag she would toss it over her shoulder and make her way to the large glass doors leading to her patio.

Noyiah walked out to the porch leading off her office to greet her Gryphon, the doors opened to a lovely day, her Gryphon leaned up from its slouched position its lounge flopping out to lick its beak in anticipation. “Good Morning Sweets, it looks like we are going to fly out to investigate where all the fish are going” she said slowly reaching into her pocket and pulling out a cookie and hand feeding it to the Gryphon. “we really have to talk about your addiction to cookies what will your babies think” she lovingly scolded the Gryphon while rubbing its beak and brushing its feathers back with her hand.

The Gryphon hastily ate the cookie from her palm and then licked any crumbs that may have been left, before standing up and allowing Noyiah on her “thanks girl” she would say climbing on and patting the gryphons head.  Sweets would start to shake her feathers, still awakening from her rest, all of her feathers seemed to reach outwards before she frilled and let out a loud Screech. Noyiah would brace and they would be off launching into the sky and swooping towards the streets below.

The Feeling of flying was better than she had imagined before, but she had grown somewhat accustom to the method of travel.  It would be a little while before the even got to the spot marked in the report, and Noyiah took the time to review the common creatures in that Region.  Soaring through the air, felt nice on her face, and the fact she wasn’t stranded on a boat for the mission meant she felt more comfortable about being over such a vast body of water.  That and from the sky’s she could see anything large in the water unless it hid at the deepest depths.

As she rode the Gryphon she looked through the reports again and narrowed it down to a creature that lives in shallow waters, and through the few maps she had packed narrowed it down to a cluster of Spires of a dormant underwater volcano.  Nodding in approval  she gave her gryphon a pat on its side,  it was a better place to be then the deepest parts of the ocean.  After all she would have to report back and hand off the assignment if she  to go into the depths.   It was simply not her environment, and she wasn’t foolish enough to attempt.   “lets get you  a break sweets” she said pointing down to a  large rock that was  above the waters surface.

The sound of wind rushed past her ears as they swooped towards the  water, Noyiah Suddenly Gripped a death grip on the Gryphons side and held on with all of her might.  She really did hate deep water. Luckily Sweets didn’t mind so much, as Noyiah’s grip wasn’t all that strong in comparison to a beast of its caliber. Once they were on the rock Noyiah fished another treat out for the Gryphon and tossed it up towards her.  Sweets Greedily gobbled it up and eyed Noyiah for more, but Noyiah had turned her attention to the books she was  looking into.  “ what do you think sweets  could it be a Gryndylow?” she asked to the Gryphon who only looked at her with a wide stare. “  they are quite mean,  but they need the shallows to live,  but they can hunt in deeper waters,  and its small enough to match the sailors report but has enough of a shark like snout to go with what the captain was saying. “ she reasoned to the Gryphon despite its uninterested attitude.

After bouncing some ideas off the Gryphon ( who was about as helpful as a stuffed animal) she pulled a bottle off water from her bag and poured all but a mouthful into a  bowl shaped dip in the stone they stood on “ here drink up, it’ll be another two hours before we even reach the area of incident” she told sweets before taking the mouthful left In the bottle into her mouth. Putting the bottle back in her bag she stretched her arms back and above her head letting the joints crack and release the tension from holding a riding position for the last few hours. “ when we get back, ill brush you down and give you a good dinner” she said encouraging the beast with a point of her finger towards the water.   Which the Gryphon looked at for a moment before stomping, the force enough to shake the stone beneath them and create a ripple in the water so it could determine the depth.

After the refreshing break and some water they continued to the Area of Concern, during the remainder of the flight Noyiah did her best to try and find anything other than a Gryndylow, but each time she thought she found another creature that would make sense she would find something more to dispute it.   The last half an hour until the destination she brushed up on what the Gryndylow would be capable of.    For the most part  if she went to engage it in the water it would likely try and drowned her, and she felt like it was possible that she would lose a battle with a creature in its own environment.   If it was in danger it would run to the depth to hide, and it can breath in both water and air so it didn’t need to come back up, which would  mean she would have to go down to its domain and that wasn’t a risk she was going to take.

As they approached the small cluster of rock structures she looked around   taking the time to circle it in the air a few times before she  came in for a closer look,  fish bones littered the rocks and she was fairly confident that the creature was near by.   As she swooped by she caught a glimpse of a creature swimming along the surface.  With the waters being as shallow as they were  Noyiah knew if she could attack in a swift motion that they could settle this almost instantly, but it would take quite a bit of coordination of her and Sweets.   Noyiah  took position and pointed out the creature,   as they  started to ascend upwards again she  aligned herself up with the sun,  as they swooped down  if the creature looked up it would be blinded by the light behind them, and  in a quick motion the Gryphon would Snatch the Dastardly little creature by its bulbus head, As they started to rise back up  getting ready to toss the little bugger into the rocks  killing it with the force of Gravity  the monster  held onto the gryphons talons with its tentacles,  resulting in them not being able to toss the monster to its rocky demise,  Noyiah Swiftly  grabbed the saddle and braced herself, knowing if she felt  at this point she would likely die as well, before she  in one quick motion  swung underneath the Gryphon and drop kicked the creature clear off with enough force to send it to the jagged rocks below.  The Gryphon clutched her arm holding her from her demise.

Hovering in the air for a little longer to see if the creature was moving, before they landed softly down beside it, Noyiah drew her dagger out and ensured the monster was dead.  After the deed was done, she wiped her blade through water to rid it of the blood.  Before  she would  rush over to  Sweets and gave it a enthusiastic pet over its beak and  face “  Your So Great,   perfect catch!” she encouraged the Gryphon   before  she would  climb on top of it and ready herself for the journey back, all while praising it  with phrases like “ who’s a Good Girl!~” and "Aren’t you just the Greatest Most Majestic  creature to ever have flown the sky’s”

Noyiah  took the time once they got home to keep her promise as she  got out the brush and gave the majestic creature the best Brushing and  meal she could, a Sweetened beef steak with extra  cookies on the side.  Having been Thoroughly impressed by the creature’s ability to communicate with her after having only been together a year.   How they had grown as a team in such a short amount of time, not to mention the litter of Grifflets that were soon to come
