As the days went by, Szeth was beginning to lose hope that his memory would actually return. His plan was to just survive for the time being until his apparent amnesia was cured, but it seemed that this would not be the case. It was not going to be so simple at all. The plan had changed. It was now a matter of working back up from the very bottom of the ladder. Years of training gone, no money, no weapons, any and all spells lost. The pride would need to be completely dropped, there was no longer any warrant for it. No point in being proud of something that you are not in possession of. Szeth lifted his hood over his head, obscuring his face as he left his house for yet another day of honest work. He would not allow himself to be dissuaded by the unfortunate circumstances. He WOULD work his way back up. That being said, it did not change the fact that he held a certain preference to particular kind of work. Szeth did not mind honest work at all, but there were certain types that were more appealing to him than others. Watching a bunch of children was not one of those that appealed to him. He figured he could find some kind of job delivering packages or anything similar to that. Simple, easy, but not irritating. He walked the streets, looking for any signs or notices directing him to employment. He asked around to any passersby, again looking for direction. Eventually Szeth made his way into an area of the city that seemed to be mostly industrial. There was bound to be some kind of work to be had over here. He walked from street to street, yelling into shops asking if there was any work going. No luck so far.

After meandering from street to street for what felt like hours, but was probably closer to twenty minutes, Szeth felt the temperature of the air rise. The smell of smoke and sweat and hard work lingered in the air. This was definitely the smell of industry. Coincidentally, this was also the smell of paying work. He followed the distant sound of hammer to metal until he came to what seemed to be a large forge. Inside was a huge array of armor, weapons, horseshoes, and just about anything you could imagine being produced by a forge. A symphony of hammers clanging to metal, angry hissing as freshly forged swords were plunged into water, and a chorus of grunting rang out through the air. Amidst the orderly chaos, stood a man who appeared to be in charge. This is who Szeth made his way over to.

"Work?"

The man studied Szeth for a few seconds before grunting and tilting his head.

"I suppose you'll do. My assistant hurt his arm so can't hammer out metal like I need him to. Its simple enough, you should be able to handle it. Come see me at the end of the day for payment."

The man left, saying nothing more and leaving Szeth to work.

The assistant directed Szeth to the anvil that they would be working at and gave him a few general tips on the simple task of bashing a piece of metal very hard until it was flat. By the end of the day, Szeth felt like a robot. The routine of hammering out metal had become ingrained in his mind, and he found himself zoning out for hours at a time. Regardless, a steam whistle announced the end of the working day, and Szeth made his way over to the boss to grab his jewels.
