WORDS: 567 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

I can’t believe it, my first job! All my own~ Beaming like a Cheshire cat as she walked through the woods of eastern Magnolia, Aisha Connors giggled to herself as she strolled along, looking up at the tall trees around her and envying their height just a little bit as she moved along as youngster waiting on her next growth spurt. Twelve years old and full of the bounciest of beans, the girl who had arrived in the country of Fiore from her native Desierto not much more than a year before this day had spent months and months and months of watching her peers pick sheets from the guild board and all the while had envied them. ack having told her she wasn’t quite ready throughout that time to be going off solo and forcing her to follow and watch him as he want about his own business, while it had been interesting at first to see her mentor at work, after weeks becoming months of doing so it was starting to wear thing and the girl craved a feeling of controlling her own destiny.

It’s finally my time to show him what I can do~ By no means begrudging the man for bringing her here or saving her life what seemed like a world away now, like any youngster that was filled with energy and spirit Aisha had begun to feel a little bit stifled by the man, not least because she wanted to impress him with what she could do. Practicing those spells he had taught her hard and never missing a day of the regime he had given her, she no longer felt like the little girl that he had rescued from a desert farmstead anymore and instead the mocha miss saw herself as far more of a woman now, and wanted him to see her that way too.

I’ve got my mark now, so its time I started acting like a proper member… Earning my keep, getting a little bit of fame… Chuckling to herself as she marched along in high spirits, wearing a loose tank top and shorts she could readily admire the new addition to her appearance she was so proud of and was eager to do so. Turning her skinny left arm up and over with her elbow pointed outward to see the shape of a black fairy that had been magically stamped onto her skin, though it was still a little weird seeing the shape she had admired on others branded on her own body, it was also rather amazing.

I thought you’d be able to feel a difference, but you don’t? Picturing all those marks she had seen on people in the guild as she probed the decoration that had been applied to her caramel coloured flesh and smiled at how smooth it felt, the presence of this little brand was a sign that told people they belonged to something far greater than themselves and Miss Connors was happy to bear it. Quickly growing to love the place that Jack had brought her to and wanting to feel like she too belonged to it, after months and months of begging her master to let her join Fairy Tail officially he had finally given in and now she had her chance to make her own mark, and that was not something the girl wished to waste one bit…

WORDS: 619 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

So, ingredient collecting, huh? Rubbing the patch on her arm with her lovely little decal one last time before opting to focus on the task that had brought her to the forest, from the large satchel she was carrying over her shoulder Aisha plucked an equally oversized book, which she began to flick through. The book a little bit dusty and looking like it had definitely older than the girl who carried it, as the young Desiertian strolled through the woods she looked through a few of the entries inside it curiously, eyeing the images of plants that filled the volume and the notes that were next to them before turning to the pages in the tome that had been marked for her interest.

Blue Lichen… Curly Fern…  And Red Leaf Vine… Humming to herself as she studied these pages more carefully, a trio of entries were the object of the young woman today, each of them carrying a tiny piece of magic that made them glow a little brighter to make them stand out that bit more than the other items that had been logged here, largely for the sake of the search she was to undertake. The quest of Miss Connors a simple one in principal, all she had to do was track down three samples of wildlife in order to help a potion master in town so that he might make his latest batch of magical brew. Easy work really provided one could follow instructions and match the pictures from a book, whilst not the most glamorous of tasking it did at least provide a newbie with a reasonable challenge and not to mention a decent reward at the end.

It says here that Curly Fern is in the commonplace? Commonplace… Pausing in place as her eyes lingered on the entry in the middle of her alphabetised tome, it took Aisha more than a couple of attempts at reading through the Fiorian language that was used to detail the notes on the plant before she fully comprehended what the book was trying to tell her, falling quite a way behind other boys and girls of her age in this regard but with good reason. Only really having begun to even start speaking the language of the country she lived in a couple of years ago, this coupled with the fact that literacy was not exactly the strongest point of education for a ranch girl who grew up in a land of bandits meant that the words she saw were still somewhat new and difficult to understand.

Where is that? No wait, does it mean…  It’s fairly abundant? Coming along leaps and bounds in her conversation skills and capable of speaking albeit with a heavy accent from her exotic origin, a lot of words she read seemed to take her a few seconds to fully understand, finding that if she jumped at her first conclusion she could sometimes be proven wrong.
Maybe I should look for that first? Get one down before I tackle the other two? Mentally checking the facts over and over until she could make sense of them, while she struggled at times Miss Connors was not deterred in what she did, being the type that preferred to meet rather than run away from something that challenged her. This little task she had been given seeming more and more perfect for her as she honed her reading abilities alongside her other fledgling skills as a mage, there almost seemed a method in the madness of her mentor, after all he had been the one who had encouraged her to make this mission her first one. Maybe Jack knew what he was doing after all?

“Hngah!” Fingers wrapped firmly around the stem of something green that half leaves that rolled like the tide, with a grunt Aisha wrenched a plant free from the ground and held it up in front of her face, studying its shape before heading back to the book she had left open only a few feet away.
I think it is… Isn’t it? Peering at the picture that depicted her target and then to the wavy thing she had plucked from the ground, after the amber eyes of the young amazon flicked between her two targets for a few seconds a slow smile spread across her face as she grew more and more certain she had accomplished her first task, her excitement building.

“I-I DID IT!” Arms shooting up into the air as she confirmed her claim beyond any doubt, with her eagerness getting the better of her Miss Connors couldn’t help but call out in her native tongue as she celebrated her success joyously, jumping up and down a couple of times as the plant she had pulled from the ground bobbed up and down in her hand before beaming and pulling something new from the large bag she was carrying.
Looks like a good one, Mr Khalash will hopefully be able to make a few batches of his potion with a sample like this~ Perhaps expected to draw only a few cuttings from the plant but her mix of enthusiasm and inexperience prompting the caramel child to pluck everything from the tallest leave down to the roots from the ground, as she stuffed her sample into one of the jars that she had been given from her satchel she felt happy at the way it filled the clear container, hoping and half-expecting her client to be as joyous as she was.

He always seems like a nice man, so I wanna do a good job~ Remembering the old merchant from the times that she had visited the Mag Drug magic shop with Jack, whenever her mentor had made a purchase from the place for potions or books to help the studies of the girl in spell craft the store owner had always seemed a kind soul. A traveller himself who had roamed far and wide, his ability to speak a little bit of Desiertian had proven a comfort to a girl who found herself in a strange land and he would also usually do sweet things like offer a little treat with their purchase or knock a few jewels off in exchange for a smile from the youngster, which had really endeared himself to Aisha.

Which one next? Red vine… Or Blue Lichen? Now on his payroll so to speak as she took her fledgling steps as an independent mage, while Miss Connors wanted to impress her mentor most of all with what she could do, Khalash probably came a close second in that regard. In her own way wanting to repay the goodness she had been shown by doing the best job that she possibly could, as the mocha Miss dusted off her hands and flicked between the other two entries she was searching for she found her enthusiasm getting the better of her as she slammed her hand down on the earlier entry and then packed her belongings away. Breaking into a jog as the excitement once again got to her once she was done, with one hand holding her bag the bronze youngster bounded through the woods, hoping to finish her sizeable haul faster than any other ‘assistant’ the man had managed to borrow…

WORDS: 593 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

Rotted logs… Rotted logs… The book that had been borrowed from the Jack Connors collection proving invaluable to the youngster as she scoured the vast woods for the ingredients Khalash needed, the young woman hummed as she looked around her green environment for sign of something that was not quite as fresh as the grass and leafy trees that surrounded her. Managing to discern that she needed to next seek out the decaying trunks of fallen oaks and other forms of hard wood in order to continue her task, the bound tome had described where she might find her next quarry quite handily, so it was simply a matter of searching for the right signs of what Aisha needed as she toured the throng of timber with a swishing switch in her hand to amuse herself.

Jack’s pretty good with a sword, but he only taught me how to use a knife? Does he think a sword is too heavy for a girl? Perhaps showing a little bit of her age and no shortage of her status as a tomboy as she gripped the thicker end of the branch she had taken up and swung it around like a sword, as she did so the little Desiertian delight hummed and pictured the times she had seen her mentor swinging a blade around, envying the strength and skill he had shown with it to no end. An able bodied girl who had even been shown how to properly handle a simple weapon by the warrior mage, perhaps it was those romantic tales she had heard of swashbuckling swordsmen or simply how epic Jack looked with a weapon in hand but the merry youngster couldn’t help but want to upgrade her arsenal, so to speak.

I’ll show him I can handle any blade, one day! The fervour of youth filling her with a drive that made her want to be able to do everything she was and would ever be capable of the day before yesterday, as she took swings against a few bushes and meagre saplings whilst she wandered along searching for toppled drunks, Miss Connors hoped her mentor would induct her into the way of the sword sooner rather than later.
“Ha! Hup! Take that vile fiend!” Picturing herself as some epic hero defending innocents from the forces of evil and sent bandits, brigands and even worse fleeing for their life with her combination of sublime steel handling and spellcraft, the would be warrior grunted and admonished imaginary adversaries as she continued her path along, becoming more and more distracted by her fantasies as she went along.

“Unf!” The degree with which her mind was diverted only really seeming to become apparent as Aisha leapt up excitedly with her stick in hand and landed on something that she expected to be far firmer than it ended up proving, while the feisty little femme had aimed to use the surface as a vaulting point in order to pull off a nice little aerial strike with her mock weapon, she instead found herself falling sideward onto the ground as a rotten log broke beneath her weight.
“Stupid log!” Wincing for a second and rolling over onto her back before lashing out wrathfully with her foot in order to kick away more of that crumbling trunk she had fallen through in order to make herself feel better, after doing so the girl narrowed her eyes before realizing that he path had brought her right where she needed to be, though more by her luck than judgement…

WORDS: 572 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

What even is a Lichen anyway? Frowning once she had found her feet again and began looking over the obstacle that had interrupted the daydream about being her being a swordfighter, despite the search that Aisha had undertook and the picture she had looked over while searching for the second item on her list, the girl still wasn’t too sure what exactly it was she sought.
Like a berry or something? Wrinkling the slightly pointed nose that she possessed as she seemed to confuse her prize with the small fruit known as a lychee in her head, as she thumbed through her reference book in order to clarify the issue the mocha miss hummed softly, but did not find the image she had in her head matching the time’s example one bit.

That looks weird… The brow tightening all the more as she settled on the page she searched for and found something that looked equally fuzzy and spindly, while the picture in the book certainly showed off the blue colour for which it had been named, Miss Connor struggled to think of anything that her second prize really resembled.
Like some kind of weird moss or something? Not particularly plant-like by any stretch of the imagination and looking more like what one might expect a pet to cough up on a particularly sour day, though initially the young huntress had expected to go looking for something round and maybe even sweet, in truth she was looking for an item that better resembled a hairball that had been left in the sun too long.

At least it will be hard to mistake for something else? Scratching the side of her head for a second or two before sighing and carrying out a closer inspection of the trunk she had tumbled over, with her book and satchel set aside the girl walked up the length of the log before slipping down to her knees and crawling the way back as the upper side of her target seemed to be absent of any sign of the blue oddity that she sought.
I had better not have tripped over the one dead tree in the forest that doesn’t have some of this stuck to it? Puffing her cheeks up a bit as her survey continued in a slightly more close up fashion, with her nose practically glued to the object she was searching, Aisha looked over every single inch of one side of the trunk before climbing over it and continuing up the other in much the same fashion.

Come onnnn, I wanna get this one done quickly! Lucky in quite literally stumbling over the fallen carcass of a tree but apparently the fortune of the femme not quite as strong as she waddled on all fours to continue her search, after a moment or two of worry that she might have to start looking elsewhere the girl finally found success as she spotted something fuzzy and blue near the end of the trunk she searched.
“Jackspot!” Calling out in excitement with a little phrase that she had learned from Adriana and grabbing not one but two handfuls of abstract azure algae, after letting out a little sigh of relief the desert cutie stood up and scurried back to her bag to stow her discovery away, the excitement she felt only growing stronger as she realized she was only one ingredient short of completion now…

WORDS: 594 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

So the last is this Red Leaf Vine? Resting her rear on one of the sturdier sections of the log once she was done stowing away that blue lichen, after tucking the jar in which she had stored it into her satchel, Miss Connors hummed to herself and pulled her canteen from the sack and took a big slurp from it as she eyed her final challenge. Turning the page of her reference book to the one that dictated her last target as she swallowed her drink, the Desiertian Delight hummed to herself as she studied the details that had been written about the remaining ingredient, recognizing quickly it would prove a bit trickier to track down than either of the others had so far.

Only on the tallest trees? Half of her brow lifting to create an arch as she looked over the Fiorian words and digested what her tome had to say on the matter, after stowing her water bottle away in the bag it had come from, Aisha looked upward as she tried to discern which of the timbers around her reached the highest. Unfortunately, the job was harder than it seemed.

They all look so big from the bottom? Perhaps struggling to see the tree she wanted for the forest in front of her, while the sun broke through the leafy canopy enough to provide her with adequate light, the view that was offered by the interruptions in the sprawling mix of wood and leaves were far from enough for her to tell which of them had grown closest to the sky.
Perhaps the stoutest trunk might provide the most growth? Next letting her gaze drift to the bases of the nature-made skyscrapers in the hopes that a simple principle of logic might aid her endeavour, all too soon after scooping up her belongings Miss Connors realized the error in her judgement as she remembered a great many thick timbers being surpassed in overall tallness despite their breadth by more ambitious climbers. The name of the game in vertical reach rather than size, what she really needed was a botanist, or failing that, a better perspective on things.

I guess there’s only one thing for it then… I’ll just keep climbing things until I can see which ones beat all the rest? Opting to go for the simpler and more available option of the two even if it was the most labour intensive, after letting out a sigh and looking around the hardy plants that surrounded her to see which seemed the easiest to get from ground level Aisha broke into a sprint and then lunged at a low hanging branch with no shortage of gusto in her jump.

“Hnnnup!” Groaning and grunting as the muscle tone her young arms had developed shone through on her bronze skin, with a flick of her hips the feisty femme hooked her heels around the nice sturdy first step on her climbing ladder and then pulled herself above it. The branch she had chosen bending a little because of the weight of the youngster but thankfully neither creaking nor breaking, after catching her breath and steadying herself to balance out the sway that her satchel added to her momentum the mocha madam made for the trunk of the tree, aiming to find her next little foothold and continue her verdant climb toward success, enjoying the chance to engage with something that had seemed so rare in her desert homeland that she had been genuinely surprised by the abundance therein in her new locale…

Getting up pretty high now… No shortage of scrapes and splinters scarring the skin of Miss Connors as she poked her head above the canopy under which she had been performing her little mission up to this point, despite the difficulty with which the little desert delight had in reaching her current standing and the danger that her position represented, she couldn’t help but feel oddly exhilarated by what she had done. Blood thumping through her system with a force inspired both by her exertion and the lingering anxiety that her level of altitude inspired, while the youthful immigrant had rarely suffered from much fear of heights in a conventional fashion she still couldn’t help but feel a little intimidated by where she stood right now. At least that was the case until she looked out over the view.

“W-Wow…” The amber eyes of the young amazon catching the light and turning from umber to ochre as she looked over a sea of green leaves that seemed to stretch almost all the way to the horizon in practically every direction, Aisha couldn’t help but be a bit awestruck as she looked over something that she doubted many others in town had ever imagined, let alone seen. The vista that she had to enjoy something that made her think of the winged beings that soared above all others, having felt a subtle sense of kinship with those of pointy beaks and feathered wings all her life, as she took the view in the little mocha madam only found this factor growing.

So this is what the birds see, as they fly around? The little sigil she had over her right eye a symbol of the connection she felt, it had been given to her years ago as a sign of a goddess in the Desiertian pantheon with a strong connection to birds of prey in the hopes that their keen eyes would help the youngster spot danger and opportunity coming toward her from miles away, and in a way it had worked. Unfortunately, even that keen vision hadn’t been enough to prevent what happened to her family, and had only seemed to spare her alone. That fact made her sad, so it was fortunately that the foreign fairy indulged her enjoyment of this verdant ocean enough that she had no time to consider it. One supposes that is what moving on is about? Finding a way to forget the hurt while continuing to cherish the goodness in one’s memories.

Now, where are the really big ones? The gaze of the girl lingering on the distant image of Magnolia as she tried to see if she could spy her guild even at this distance, after seeing what she suspected might have been the bell tower that sat atop the tiered structure, Miss Connors returned her attention toward the task she had to perform.
Ah, that looks like a good place to start? Climbing this high for more than just a beautiful view and wanting to get her first quest polished off nicely, with a little smirk the youngster spied a particular natural spire that seemed none too far away from where she was and descended back into the network of branches to get closer to it, hoping she might see a sign of the red vine once she drew a little nearer.

WORDS: 527 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

There it is… The amber eyes of the junior amazon finally locking onto the quarry she sought, luckily for her the red colour of the vine that she had been looking for made it rather easy to spot, even from a distance. Standing on the tip of a reasonably sturdy branch as she gripped another for balance, Miss Connors stared at those crimson stalks that climbed up the trunk of a nice tall spire only a dozen or so meters away, which was an easy grab if not for the force of gravity.

Pretty far down, it would take a while to climb to the bottom and then all the way back up again… Eyeing the distance that separated her from the ground with a slight sense of apprehension, while the logical approach for any safety minded person might have been to shimmy their way down and then back up the tree on which the plant grew, though safe that path was also slow and something that even an energetic soul like Aisha did not particularly approve of. Not exactly lazy but rather excited and in a rush, there was also no guarantee that if she went down to the ground that she would find a path back to the prize that she sought, and so she instead opted to be a little reckless to cross the distance of a few feet that separated the tips of the two trees branches in order to secure it speedily.

It’s not THAT far, I think I’ve jumped further on runs and things… Taking a few deep breaths to steady herself as she moved back toward the trunk she was coming from in order to give herself a bit of a run up, while the fall to the ground was deep enough that she would probably be none too impressed about a premature landing, the girl tried not to think about it and instead rationalize her move as best she could. An active and able bodied youngster, Miss Connors could outperform most boys her age with what she could do despite being a little on the short and scrawny side and hoped that the athleticism that Jack had helped her hone would see her through this little challenge without too much issue.

Let’s do this! Not exactly sure what exactly compelled her to move forward beyond a simple feeling of now or never, after taking one last deep draught of oxygen and tightening the strap that wrapped around her body in order to stop it flopping around, the brown eyes of the bronze beauty sharpened and she rushed forward without a second thought. Toes clawing the timber that was beneath it as she tried to generate as much traction as possible, all too soon Aisha’s runway disappeared from beneath her and she thrust her body forward with every ounce of momentum that she could manage, the girl wanted to leap like a like flying squirrel as she shot toward her target, wishing she had wings or anything that would make her glide that bit further as only air separated her from a nasty and largely unwanted reunion with the ground…

WORDS: 551 |  YESTERDAYS GIRL

“Come ooooonnnnn!” Arms swinging like windmills in the middle of the month known as march as she sailed through the air, whether this was because of design or panic even Aisha herself did not know, but maybe the motion provided her with just enough impetus and influence to snatch something in the air. A thin stem that protruded from the tree that she aimed for seeming the slip into her hand, more out of reflex than rationality the desperate Desertian closed her mitt around it and then flung her other toward the same place, though all too quickly realized that she had snagged a stalk that wasn’t quite strong enough to support her.

“Oh Sh-!” Calling out in surprise when the safety line she had secured suddenly bent under her weight and offered the body of the beauty back to the whimsy of the force known as gravity, with hardly enough time to breathe let alone think Miss Connors flailed wildly as she plummeted through the air and luckily managed to find something a little sturdier.
“Unk!” Grunting as a far sturdier branch found its way under her arm, though the sudden reduction of her momentum toward the ground caused the caramel climber no end of discomfort, she desperately tried to hold onto the beam that tried to save her but sadly, did not quite manage it.

“Oooooffff!!!!” Instead slipping from the stalling effort of the branch and only coming to a stop when her body was whirled around enough that her stomach slammed into an even sturdier stalk beneath it, the wind was thoroughly knocked out of the sails of Aisha as she bruised her midriff, but ignored the pain and fatigue just enough to wrap her arms around the timber that saved her in such an agonizing way.
That’s… Jeez, hit even harder… Than Jack! Head of our heroine spinning and mind racing as she clung to the wooden shaft that she had slumped over for dear life, after trying to pull a little air into her lungs largely unsuccessfully the youngster scurried and pulled her body up and over the saviour she had found, laying there in misery for several seconds with a leg and arm either side of the support as she waited for her lungs to catch up with her.

“Haaahhhh… Haaahhhhhh…” Finally managing to suck some air inside her in a slightly wheezing and rasping fashion as the discomfort in her diaphragm began to abate, with a groan Miss Connors pulled herself back onto her feet and wobbled her way toward the trunk of the tree she had haphazardly managed to cross over to.

There it is… Not far. Moving on determination despite the fact that her fall had left her feeling a little bit woozy and weak as well as rather sore, all the same the young guild member pushed herself onward toward completion, so close to her goal that she could practically taste it. The patch of red vines none too far above her position and only a short ‘ladder’ of branches separating her from it, while the method that the mocha madam had taken had proven a little tricky she was close to her goal and not about to give up now that it was only a little bit beyond her grasp…

“I must say, you’re looking a little bit worse for wear my dear? I hope the task wasn’t too much for you at such a tender age…”

Glad to have found her way back to the Mag Drug Shop not soon after she had wrenched a nice bunch of leafy red vines from the tree and added them to her collection of ingredients, though she had for the most part enjoyed her day in the woods as a working woman, the comfort of a stool that Khalash had offered her certainly made the girl happy that her job was done. Hair messy and a piece of a leafy twig tangled into it, the cheeks and nose of Miss Connors were dusted with earth whilst the rest of her still stung from what she had done, her stomach still aching just a little bit as the brewer looked over to her with concern in his voice, clearly noting that she looked almost as bad as the girl felt.

“I-It is no large deal…” Shaking her head as the old man looked at her in such a worried fashion, though the thickness of her accent and newness to the language made the words of Aisha stumble just a little as she answered him, the dark haired Desertian brushed away those woes and attempted to look tough. Not one to wallow in wounds and young enough that she knew that the worst of her hurts would have melted away in a day or two, while she had some discomfort the amber eyed amazon  would not be beaten by what she had endured and all too soon would be out there finding fresh bruises, of that she was sure.

“Just scrapes and bumps…” Perhaps the words of the youngster a little bit overshadowed by the way she winced as she turned to face Khalash but the spirit of the little mocha marvel not diminished by this fact, as her client huddled over a cauldron and with a knife in hand and set about preparing the items she had brought, the bruised lass couldn’t help but look over what he was doing with a sense of wonder and curiosity. The man not really spelling out exactly what he had required the three ingredients for in his request beyond the vague description of potion making, now that she was in her shop seeing the man harvesting and using the fresh elements that had been gathered Miss Connor couldn’t help but wonder just what it was he wanted to whip up.

“I see, I see, well that’s good news.
I’d have hated to hear a bright young thing like you had done herself some mischief on my account? It’s a nice little potion but not worth broken bones…”

The shop of Khalash seeming to boast all sorts from books and equipment, even the odd artefact, it was most popular for the things he brewed, to the degree that Jack had told her people would come here from across Fiore in order to get their portion of what he could whip up. Almost like a master of the kitchen but his creations providing more lasting results than the simple matter of filling one’s tum, Aisha couldn’t help but want to get a chance to sample one of them for herself, even if she had refused her mentor’s offer to buy her one or two when they visited. Still retaining a proud sense of independence and not wishing to inflict herself even more on the hospitality of the man who had saved her life more than she already did, the mocha madam wished earn her way to her first taste of an alchemists philtre, though was not expecting that chance to occur any time soon…

Potion brewing intriguing at first but the time that it took enough to make a twelve year old girl feel rather bored before it was ready, as the sun began to slip toward the horizon and the light began to dim, Aisha had slipped into a light snooze with her book of ingredient in hand when the words of the shop owner roused her.
“Hnuh?” Blinking in surprise as she was pulled from her slumber to find a small phial of a substance that seemed to glitter and glow with a colour like that of the sky was held out toward her, after a second or two the Desertian delight lifted her hand up and took the gift before looking at it with curiosity, wondering what exactly she had been given.

“Is it really right, Mr Khalash? You need to sell this, yes?” Eyeing the vessel that had been filled with a cyan concoction for a few seconds before looking at the man who had given it to her, though it seemed a good chance to indulge her interest in potions, Miss Connors still felt a little reluctance to slurp the sample down straight away. Conscious of the cost of the bottles of the substances that the merchant whipped up, though this was a much humbler offering than one would usually buy from the store properly, the child still felt a little guilty for getting a freebie, especially when she considered the fact that she had already been paid for the work she had done.

“Nonsense, nonsense… It isn’t much and besides, this is your first quest isn’t it? Deserves an extra special reward!”

Khalash seeming to hear none of the notion that his gift could be refused, however, even though Aisha offered the little sample back to him the man simply shook her head and closed his hand around it and her own mitt, pushing it back in her direction encouragingly. It a nice little act really, it made the effort that the mocha miss had been through seem all the more worthwhile to be handed a little bit extra for what she had done, like the enthusiasm she had shown had been rewarded.

“Heheheheheh, if you are sure? T-Thank you, Mr Khalash…” Smiling widely as she accepted the gesture and thanking the old man with a nod, almost as soon as Miss Connors had done so she thrust the gift to her lips and tasted the substance, feeling an almost instant reaction as the liquid hit her tongue. Body practically jolting as a sense of energy seemed to radiate out from the mixture and fill her form up with zeal, it was like swallowing a whole truckload of candy all at once and the youngster immediately felt the aches of her day easing away, as well as her sense of tiredness. Strong stuff for certain, if this was what it was like getting just a little taste, Aisha could only wonder what one felt like after getting a whole bottle…

567 + 616 + 598 + 593 + 572 + 594 + 560 + 527 + 551 + 626 +  526 = 6330
