She had traveled quite far, didn't she? To think that she'd journey all the way from West Fiore to the far reaches of the East, and for what purpose? Most would have likely been unable to comprehend her reasoning even if she decided to try to explain things to them, in the end, they weren't Wild Neko like her.

Wandering the streets a soft sigh escaped the Neko's lips as she looked at the request board that was located at a large plaza within the town. Although she might not have dealt with human societies often, she knew well enough how those things worked. Whenever people needed help, and it was something they couldn't handle themselves for some reason they posted up those 'requests' for people to handle. Of course, considering those requests were paid people were often eager to lend a hand, and in her case, she had no choice but to accept one herself.

Her food rations were running low, and hunting on territory belonging to the humans of Magnolia would be considered poaching, and the last thing he needed was to get arrested for something silly like trying to catch dinner. "Ugg, I'm already starting to miss Oberon's Forest..."

A soft whine escaped the young Neko's lips as she pulled a small piece of parchment from the request board and read its contents. Indeed, she might have been a Wild Neko but she had at least learned a bit on how to read!

It appeared this request, in particular, belonged to the local priest of Magnolia's church, a certain 'Father Jerad' who was in search for someone to help him tend to the sick. Indeed, she had heard rumors before about how a plague was sweeping across the city, leaving a wave of ill people in its wake and while the rich were already tending to themselves, the poorer people had to settle for less... pleasant remedies. Fortunately, it seemed the kind priest was trying his utmost to help those unfortunate souls, and he had invited them to the Cathedral where he was distributing medicine to them. Of course, one man couldn't handle so many ill people and therefore he sought help from a benevolent adventurer who was willing to lend a hand. Usually, she would be unwilling to get involved with a mess like that, but the fact that in her eyes the priest was working against the traditional rules of human society, she had to admit there was a certain charm in his stubborn resolve to aid the poor. Not to mention, if it would pay her meals for a while, then wouldn't it be foolish of her to decline the opportunity to lend a hand? And that was what led her currently to travel toward the cathedral, just a mere moment after looking at the river that ran beneath the bridge she was crossing.

Gods, just the sight of the water was sending shivers down her spine... Nonetheless, with the cathedral coming in sight it appeared Y'shtola was soon about to reach her destination...

It didn't take long for her to find the priest, in the end the men and women of faith within human society tended to dress in quite a specific manner. "Father Jerad, I presume you posted this request for aid?" The priest had just finished tending to one of the patients when he heard Y'shtola's voice, turning around to find the Neko waiting for his answer. A smile appeared onto the priest's lips as he nodded his head gently, a hand extended toward her. "Indeed, my name is Father Jerad, I'm the priest in charge of Magnolia's cathedral."

Tilting her head slightly to the side it seemed Y'shtola was slightly confused by the gesture, but then again she remembered that in the town she had visited before humans tended to shake hands at times, especially during friendly greetings. Was this one of those moments? Extending her hand slightly she shook the man's hand and replied confidently. "I read that you are seeking help with distributing medicine or something? If you want I can lend you some help." The words that were spoken by the Neko clearly served to cheer up the priest who nodded his head firmly in response. "Of course, by all means~ I am delighted to have your aid. Do you see that box beside me? Each of those boxes contains a syrup to help our patients, but there are simply too many sick for me to tend to by myself. Can you please go and help me out a bit by taking the medicine to the patients?"

A short nod was made by the Neko who crouched down and picked up some of the syrup bottles, going from one person to the other to make sure they took the medicine, but it appeared that among the final patients she would have a challenge of her own. "I DON'T WANNA!" a little boy cried out in protest while she groaned in annoyance. "And why the hell would you not want to take your medicine?" Of course, the little pipsqueak cried out once more. "IT'S BITTER!"

While it was quite a headache to deal with a brat like that, it did remind her of a certain memory, of a little Neko who had been protesting to her mother about having an injury tended to because the medicine stung...

"Say kiddo, what's your name?" The softer tone of the Neko made the boy look at her with a look of curiosity in his eyes while his sobbing softened. "Johan..." Y'shtola nodded her head calmly as she continued her explanation. "Do you know that there is a certain saying among my tribe? The worst tasting medicines make us the strongest. Don't you want to be a strong and cool guy that impresses everyone by taking this nasty medicine?"

The boy nodded his head feebly as he took the medicine and tried to jug it down in one go, earning a little applause from the other patients while she patted his head lightly. "Atta boy, that's acting like a true hunter. Don't forget it next time you need to take medicine."

As she finished her round and returned to the priest the man held a small pouch in his hand. "Y'shtola I presume?" Wait a moment, she had never told him her name! Yet noticing the wariness in her expression the father extended the pouch toward her and explained further. "Please forgive me for making you restless with my words. I merely remembered that the guards spoke of a Wild Neko being in town, but it seems their description doesn't match what you showed just now. You got a kind heart don't you? May that pouch help pay your food and stay at the inn, and may Illumin watch over you."

Blinking slightly in confusion as she grasped a hold of the pouch the young Neko mused out loud. "Dunno anything about Illumin watching over me, but thanks for the pay." And with a light wave of her hand she left the cathedral...
