The Crocus Gardens know for their beauty and constant visits. With flowers from all around Fiore it’s not hard to see why many locals visit at least once a week. To either enjoy the flowers or do whatever work they have in the lively air of the place. But why come to a place that you’ve seen so many time before is why Savannah is here, to see what the fuss is about. She heard of all the lively flowers and how well they are kept.

But… she thought dejectedly, why did I have to come on such a sunny day?! For some reason, or an obvious reason, she dislikes the bright sun. And while it’s a nice shine, not blinding at all, and even accentuated the flowers it still bothered her. Savannah laid her pale arm over her forehead taking a big sigh before continuing on. She pulled at her leather jacket and tied it’s arms around her waist, inside facing out, and showing off her red shirt that matched her red hair, minus the blue fringe.

Savannah was getting a bit thirsty and grabbed a refreshing strawberry-like milk and continued till she came across a red ribbon-like flower. Beautiful… She thought slightly entranced and bent down to read the sign right below. Red Spider Lily, Savannah thought that name sounded familiar to her, but Savannah felt the ache in her heels and that heavy feeling in her legs from bending down at her 5’10 height. So she walked to a nearby bench that was surrounded by thin purple flowers, she sat slightly off from the woman that was also there as the bench wasn’t that long; she at most had quarter and a half distance between the two.

The Crocus gardens sure attracted a lot of attention for a variety of reasons. Be it the mounds of earth that served as tiny rolling hills for people to perch themselves on, or the long-winded path for the joggers to employ and keep fit. Strewn with benches, it encouraged people to use it for several purposes. Today, then bench that hosted Aki, sat amidst the plant nursery. The nursery, a sort of greenhouse, contained several species of flora from all over Fiore. A few of the species were scattered around the flower-beds of the main gardens, but this particular area provided a safe haven, an area dedicated to their conservation perhaps. It included the labels and such, for the various plants, it was a common place for nature enthusiasts to venture into. While the plants were not neccesarily in their natural habitats, it was nice to see them displayed alive.

Akira didn't have too great an interest in the various types of plants that grew in Fiore, but it was indeed interesting to observe people display their fascination upon spotting an allegedly rare species, or just one that was beautiful. She held a newspaper in front of her face, but she peered over the pages ever so often to survey the garden visitors that paid a visit to the nursery. The nursery had a small souvenir shop attached to it, which sold various art made from pressed and dried plants... Akira intended on making a purchase there at some point, to send back home to her family. Idly her eyes rested upon a red-haired girl as she peered at a red colored flower... If they were to accidentally make eye contact, Akira would quickly hide behind the paper, of course.

Savannah took a glance at the woman next to her, but she just ducked behind the newspaper, Cute she mused and just looked back at the people. An arguing couple, people jogging or riding bikes, parents with children, teens doing work. Just regular human things. Savannah looked back at the woman although this time more at the newspaper.  Savannah didn’t know what to do, she’s not very extroverted, essentially not a social person.

The newspaper didn’t look like anything interesting, but then again she was only looking at one side. Savannah sipped at her drink as she looked away. "Oh look, a crying child." Time ticked by and by as the cold breeze went. She did know one way, despite how awkward it might get. Savannah bitted her lip, then released it, she didn’t have to say anything, but she was so bored.

She blew at her hair and just continued looking about…That’s it she can’t take it anymore, she’s too bored. Savannah adjusted herself at the woman and said just one thing, “What’s in the funnies?” She sat a bit waiting to see if the pretty woman said anything. Maybe complementing her would work, worked for this one guy she met. No that would make it more awkward.

Akira kept a wary eye on the red-haired girl, simply because she seemed a bit lost, she remarked about the crying child and eventually Akira suspected she may be trying to get her attention. The girl folded her paper to get a better view, before quickly ducking behind it again. Aki wasn't sure how to approach the situation, she could invite the girl or just say hi, but she couldn't bring herself to, especially because it would be based on an assumption. She thought maybe she could clear her throat or something and then they'd both be playing this game of, you-talk-first. She refrained from doing so, however, till eventually, she noticed the bored girl walk towards her. Akira's muscles coiled, she felt herself freeze up, her flight or fight almost kicked in. She wasn't usually this wary and had recently begun opening up to people under Tsuru's influence, but he wasn't here and this girl seemed a bit strange.

Slowly Akira took a few breaths to compose herself as the girl now sat beside her on the bench. She sighed softly, inaudibly. Maybe they were just going to sit in silence... But the girl finally struck up the conversation. 'Oh... er I haven't reached that part yet...' Aki answered softly, her voice a mumble, lost between her teeth and lips, as she nibbled the latter with the former. She felt caught off guard, had the girl noticed she'd been on the same page for a while, would she empathize or think Akira is some sort of a freak. That'd make two of us though she thought dully. 'Would you like to read it?' she asked offering the paper up, after flipping it to the section with the jokes.

Savannah looked worried, “I-I’m sorry if I bothered you. I just was so bored and…mmm, sorry.” Savannah mumbled out the last bit her voice holding a slight quiet to it. She didn’t know what to do and felt extremely awkward and it seem she did the same to her. Damnit why does this always happen. Now she felt a bit sad, but she took the offered paper anyways.

Bringing it back she wondered if her sadness and nervousness showed through her shaking hands. Sure her experiences with Aard and his group made her more acceptable to meeting others she still sucked ass at it. She missed Aard, great now she’s more sad; she really has to keep her mind from wandering. But…Savannah mentally shook her head. Hmm, the cat kicked the dog off the table again. She continued to scan the page before offering it back to the woman again.

“Sorry again, I-uh have trouble talking to others.” What else could she say? She didn’t know whether to stay or go, but if she went there went a chance at a friend if she stayed there may be a chance of making an enemy. Thus is life, what will she do?

'Don't worry about it...' Akira reassured, probably too dryly for it to sound convincing because the girl went on. Akira cleared her throat and crossed her legs. She wasn't too great at convincing other either, perhaps on the occasion with logic, should the other be so inclined. But she hardly knew this girl enough, to make that determination. Akira wondered if the girl actually read any of the jokes, she appeared so nervous. The lunar mage felt at fault for making this red-head feel this way, even though she couldn't see how she could make things better. After a bit of awkward silence which had made Akira almost want to whistle, just to eradicate some of that weirdness, she heard the rustle of the paper as it was returned to her with another apology.

'Can't blame you, I'm no whiz either...' Akira mentioned softly. She looked away, but then sighed, she wasn't really nervous around people, she just didn't think they had the noblest of intentions... This girl seemed scared and while Akira wasn't the sort to go out of her way, she couldn't just ignore the red-haired one. 'You're fine, don't worry... Since you're here, why don't we exchange names? Cool with that?' she asked tentatively, trying to appear confident and reassuring, but she wasn't sure if she relayed that well enough, she could only with her partner was here to make this easier.

'Can't blame you, I'm no whiz either...' Said the woman, Savannah looked back at the girl; she now understood that both of them were not the best at social situations and that made Savannah feel better. 'You're fine, don't worry...’ Savannah smiled at that she usually doesn’t even care a lot about a lot of things let alone be worried, but, ‘Since you're here, why don't we exchange names? Cool with that?' asked the woman tentatively.’  Savannah nodded and with a soft voice she hoped was soothing she told the lady her name, “My name in Knight, Savannah Knight. I’m 18 years old and came from Magnolia, sort of.”

She realized that may have been too much so she hopefully comforted the woman by saying, “You don’t have to tell me all I told you, just your name is fine. I thought it might make the awkwardness go away if you knew more about me.” She grabbed a strand of hair near her right ear between her ring finger and middle finger, hair pointing inwards, and pushed the nail of her thumb into the bristles of the hair. A gesture of hers she had since she was a child that she did while waiting.

Akira nodded encouragingly at the woman's response, she somehow had seemed about Aki's age to the lunar mage, but it turned out that Savannah was actually older than the Rune Knight was. 'I see... I'm Akira Shimada.' the dark haired girl responded in kind. She'd stopped after saying just that much but then was reminded of the fact that the stranger who sat beside her, had also given up the location where she was from. The reminder, oddly came from Savannah's reassurance, when she said that Akira didn't have to give up more than her name if she wasn't comfortable with it. Despite Savannah's clarification, out of fairness, Akira at least felt like giving a general clue, even though she'd rather not get into the specifics.

'I'm not exactly from Fiore.' the younger girl echoed the hesitation. She twiddled her thumbs, as she watched the possibility of awkwardness, bloom, and brew between them again. In all her interactions, Akira usually felt better and at ease when she was the one steering the conversation and asking all the questions. So her eyes flickered to the face of the eighteen-year-old as she cleared her throat to dissipate the air that seemed to be growing steadily heavy around the two. 'So what brought you to Crocus?' Akira asked, as her mind already sought to assume and create a story around the possibilities which may have drawn Savannah here.

The woman nodded at Savannah, ‘I see... I'm Akira Shimada.’ Savannah nodded at her response, a nice name for a nice lady. 'I'm not exactly from Fiore.' Akira said, this slightly surprised Savannah, but she just nodded at Akira. Savannah will be told when Akira is more comfortable with her, when they had the time to from real trust. Akira eye’s flickered to her face and she coughed, clearing her throat Savannah supposed.

'So what brought you two Crocus?' Akira asked. “Eh?” Savannah said, she thought about it for a bit before giving a slight smile. “I was bored.” She said simply and it was true as the mission’s weren’t very interesting. That and it seemed like everything was happening in Crocus. Savannah just shrugged at her own words, maybe she should elaborate?

No, Savannah will elaborate if Akira asked. Savannah went to take a sip of her drink when she realized it was empty and threw it into the trash can nearby. There was also an odd cold passing through, it was different than what the temperature was a moment ago and while the cold doesn’t affect her like it use to so long ago she could still sense the cold that was just there and the cold now settling. Savannah looked back at Akira worried that she might be cold.

Akira raised her eyebrows, this girl was pretty flippant for an eighteen-year-old, Aki for some reason expected more seriousness from someone older. To just pop into Crocus out of boredom was rather whimsical. She tried her best to not judge the woman for it. It was a little difficult, Crocus had been through a fair bit, to just use that as some sort of entertainment that could be spectated for enjoyment and to relieve boredom didn't sound right. But clearly, this woman was nervous around people, her anxiety seemed far more crippling that Akira, she'd have to extend the woman some rope.

Akira was still itching to let her know such frivolity wasn't what she expected from someone older. So the lunar mage, mentioned softly that she was just sixteen. 'I'm sixteen by the way... Working with the Rune Knights.' Akira divulged a bit more, wondering if the little lady was affiliated with a guild or a faction too. 'And you?' she asked, simply. From everything she had gleaned, it seemed unlikely, but there were still surprises to be found despite the pretty solid foresight and keen ability to read people that Akira was gifted with, pessimistic as it may be. As she waited for an answer, she tried to offer this person a smile just to help her along a little, but once again Akira couldn't be sure if it delivered her hesitant intent.

Savannah was quite surprised that Akira was that much younger and yet part of the rune nights, then again she has heard very little of them. She knows they are part of the government and that they are essentially a force similar to the officers back in her birth home. ‘And you?' Akira simply asked giving a slight smile; Savannah retuned a small smile to Akira then stood up. Turning around Savannah pulled up the right side of her shirt showing the infamous or famous, depending on your view. “Yeah, I’m a Fairy Tail member, although I have met very little as most have traveled far. For missions or other such I do not know.”

Savannah turned back around to face Akira, “I meet one so far, but he eh...” Savannah shrugged and sat back down. “What’s it like with your faction? Friends? Sorry I know very little about the Rune Knights as I was slightly isolated…” Savannah wished she could take back those words, but this woman…she has a good feeling about her. Like its good to trust her, but it will take a bit as Savannah has a few trust issues. And Savannah still didn’t know why, well maybe a few ideas, as these thoughts ran through her head she still kept an open ear to Akira.

Aki's eyes widened, when she noticed the tattoo and then dully her lashes and lids drooped over the orbs again. Another one. She still hadn't gotten over her the assumed rejection from that guild and in fact, the more she actually worked with the Rune Knights, the more she lost respect for the flashier variety from the Fairy Tail guild, or rather, Farty Tale or fail, like she called them, depending on how annoyed she felt in their presence or when someone struck a conversation about them. 'I see...' Akira managed, to say, the politeness was difficult to maintain.

'My faction is... diligent.' she added, ignoring the part about friends because it'd be silly to spout meaningless names at the woman. It wasn't like the Rune Knights were a great choice either, but at least they worked more and showed off lesser... She didn't quite want the battle of my faction is better than your guild. She just had a personal issue with that particular guild.

They chose this seeming air-head but a parently Akira wouldn't fit in. She turned away, afraid she may betray some sort of malice, she had no way of gauging the woman's power. Her fight wasn't with Savannah in particular, just with the institution that she had chosen to be in. Softly, with a slightly broken voice as she strived to contain any emotions that may come across as derogatory, she asked 'Why, Fairy Tail?' she said, keeping her eyes averted, facing forward as she asked the question. She knew it was one of the more popular ones, it was why she'd insistently wanted to get in on it... now she was almost glad she didn't, the feeling of denial still bit at her though.

'I see...' Akira said, Savannah frowned and bit her lip sorry? Savannah noticed on how she ignored her friends question, guess the Rune Knights are a bit…unfriendly. Akira’s face turned away from hers and Savannah wondered if she said something wrong. When Akira asked Savannah why Fairy Tail her hands clutched at her arms. She wished she was sitting down and so she did, Savannah looked out at the people going by.

It was afternoon now and a new wave a people are passing through. “I was…” Savannah took a breath, “Hoping to find my dad. He was a Fairy Tail mage and…I didn’t find him.” Savannah loves her father, but when you can’t find him, when she even went to Fairy Tail. She has no real connections to Fairy Tail and was bored, she’s scared of being bored for too long, lets your mind get slower. So she left to Crocus to have a bit of fun after all she didn’t need to be depressed.

She continued to rub her arms, and then leaned back into the bench. “Sorry if what I said earlier angered you or anything. I just wanted to be honest with you.” She sent a small smile.

Aki's hardened gaze softened, she rolled her shoulders to stop them from being so squared and rigid. She swallowed her pride briefly and looked upon the older girl with some empathy. Clearly, she had made this choice out of some pain, maybe it wasn't well thought through. She was probably hoping to glean information about her father through the guild, which did seem like a plausible solution, except Akira was convinced that no one in that guild could care less about another. In her head, they were all just vainglorious little pieces of crap, roaming around and acting like they're better than the others. But she couldn't legitimately relay that to the poor woman. Akira wondered if she hid her hurt or sorrow behind this garb of being bored all the time.

Maybe she constantly needed distractions and something new to occupy her mind, so she didn't feel swallowed by the loss of her father. 'What other information do you have?' She asked softly, her voice a little less sharp than it had been before. The girl seemed like she'd joined the guild rather recently, Akira had to stop herself from showering her with snarky comments, the red-head did have a reason for her choice and Akira would have to respect that for the time being. 'As a Rune Knight, I may be able to help a little too...' She offered, it wasn't like she was teeming with concern, a lot of people lost others... But since the girl mentioned it, it made sense.

Savannah was bored. She was enjoying her talk with Akira, but it was so depressing. Then Akira asked her if she had more information telling Savannah she may help. Savannah thought about it, she didn’t know much about him just that he made a deal some time ago. What the deal was was none of her concern unless it dealt with her. “Well…he disappeared about 8 years ago.”

Savannah put her head in her hands, her head tilting to the darkening sky as she thought. When she reached Magnolia she immediately went to Fairy Tail. They were friendly, but no one had anything about her father. Just that he disappeared 8 years ago, and many talked about him, but what caught her attention was when during one mission her father was separated from everyone else. When he came back he looked shaken up like something reached into his soul and shook it around. Savannah sighed this wasn’t where she thought the day was going to go.

She thought it was going to be a dull day looking at flowers, not telling you history to someone who seems hostel to what guild you’re in. Just so you didn’t make an enemy out of someone.

Akira nodded thoughtfully as the girl answered, she had no idea what may have transpired in the last eight years, but to look for someone after such a long period of time, might end up being fruitless. Nonetheless, she didn't want to throw her shade around like she usually did, so she bit her lip and scanned Savannah again, looking for signs to see if a further conversation was necessary. At the moment, this interaction seemed to have been a failed venture on both their parts. Akira's ability to alienate people played a key role in probably causing her to come across as interrogative. She sighed softly. 'Well, I'll try and see if I can set a word going, about your old man...' She said, muttering now, sympathetically.

Her own relationship with her father was strained, it was a bit like not having a father at all and on days where she was considerably plagued by darker thoughts, she'd often harbor a great amount of resent for the man. Sometimes, Akira blamed him for all the misery that befell her. On better days, she'd be grateful to her mother for leaving the man and allowing them to start over, even if it meant they had to deal with some hardship. It seemed, for the moment her chances with Savannah were ruined. The sun had begun to drop and the sky had begun assuming a darker shade, perhaps it was time to take her leave. Tsuru would probably come looking for her eventually, either way. 'Anyways... er nice meeting you, I hope we catch each other again and I'll try to find you or send a word to your guild if there is any news about your father.' Aki said simply, before pulling herself off the bench and shuffling away, a tad bit disappointed with herself.

Even though Akira said she’d put out a word Savannah was tempted to say she didn’t have too. After all its her father and by Akira’s look Savannah has a few guesses about her relationship with her father. But Savannah gave a smile in thanks; it was nice of Akira to do that even though she didn’t have too. Akira got up and started to leave with wishes and hopes. Savannah felt worried at Akira’s expression so she got up and with her hands cupped around her moth she yelled after Akira.

“I hope I get to see you too, you seem like a great person! And if you ever need help I’ll be there!” Savannah continued to wave after Akira despite the stares she was receiving. She didn’t care Akira need cheering up after all. Savannah walked away when she noticed a newspaper lying on the bench, picking it up she read the words. When Savannah looked up she was lost within the sea of flowers, Did I actually walk off? Savannah tilted her head in confusion and walked to the entrance.

That’s when she heard a slight growl, following the noise Savannah came upon a circular pain field. In the middle was a frozen based monster and Savannah sighed. Savannah clutched her right hand in a holding position and smashed it against the flatness of her left palm in front of her. With a smirk Savannah pulled out her hammer of Ice.
