The outskirts of Baska echoed with the sounds of youthful laughter and the playful banter of children as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow upon the landscape. Kamui, the stoic and formidable wandering swordsman, had just dispatched a menacing monster that had strayed too close to the village. The children, wide-eyed and awe-struck, had witnessed her skill in combat and approached her with a mix of curiosity and admiration.

With her katana resheathed, Kamui observed the group of youngsters gathering around her. Their eyes sparkled with a mixture of fear and excitement, and the braver ones stepped forward, emboldened by the shared desire for tales of heroism and adventure.

"Wow, you're amazing! Can you teach us how to fight like that?" one of the children exclaimed, a glimmer of determination in their eyes, and their cheeks puffed cutely. They did not look strong, but Kamui was intruged.

"Why would you want to learn to fight?" Kamui inquired, her voice measured and composed.

The children exchanged glances, and a determined voice spoke up, "We want to protect our village! We want to be strong like you!"

A murmur of agreement rippled through the group, and Kamui's eyes softened imperceptibly. The desire to protect one's home resonated with her, a sentiment she had known all too well in her tumultuous past. As a former samurai turned ronin, this was an honourable goal to achieve. A subtle nod from Kamui signalled her reluctant agreement and the children (and Mami) give a loud cheer.

Kamui, however, maintained her stoic exterior, a subtle smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "It was merely training. They needed guidance, nothing more."

Mami, undeterred, continued to heap praise upon Kamui. "But you showed them more than just moves! You taught them about strength, both inside and out. I bet they'll never forget you." The little cheagle gushes, genuinely proud of his usually mean master helping out a bunch of kids.

As the duo walked away from the training grounds, Mami continued to shower Kamui with compliments, the cheerful banter between the two creating a harmonious melody against the backdrop of the setting sun. While Kamui may not readily admit it, the impact of her guidance lingered in the hearts of those aspiring young warriors, and Mami, the ever-enthusiastic companion, revelled in celebrating the unspoken victories of their journey. But still, Kamui's seemingly never-ending journey to find strength continued, though she will remember this day for quite a while.
