The town of Era was cloaked in darkness as the moon cast its pale glow upon its winding streets. Shadows danced and whispered, teasing the imagination with their mysterious presence. Kazz, a young and fearless adventurer, roamed the cobblestone paths, his eyes scanning the alleys and corners with a mixture of excitement and caution. Rumors had been circulating about a wolf, a deadly predator, that had escaped its captivity and now prowled the streets under the cover of night."Nensh, I got a pretty good feeling about tonight," Kazz muttered, his voice tinged with a mix of concern and determination. In that moment, a small black cat appeared, perched on Kazz's shoulder, its fiery eyes gleaming with wisdom beyond its feline form. "Me too, Kazz, we will find it for sure tonight" Nensh replied, its voice resonating in Kazz's mind. "We have been looking for this damned thing for nearly a week, and have nothing to show for it,"

As they ventured deeper into the night, the scent of fear intertwined with the thick air. The town had become a jigsaw puzzle of lamplight and shadows, creating an ethereal setting that both intrigued and haunted Kazz's senses. The distant howl of the wind and faint whispers carried on the breeze heightened his anticipation, fueled by the knowledge that danger lurked around every corner. Suddenly, a door creaked open, spilling golden light onto the deserted street. Kazz's heart quickened, and he approached the open doorway with cautious steps. Inside, a haggard old woman sat, her eyes filled with fear and desperation. "Please, young man," she implored, "I beg of you, find the beast that roams our town and put an end to its terror". Kazz nodded solemnly, his gaze locking with the old woman's. "Don't worry It dies tonight," he vowed, his voice steely with determination. With that, he resumed his trek through the labyrinthine streets, energy coursing through his veins as he sought out the elusive wolf.

The buildings grew taller as Kazz ventured further into the heart of Era, their dark silhouettes looming like giants against the night sky. The town was known for its safety, a reputation earned through the Rune Knights' watchful eyes. Yet, even the greatest guardians could not shield its residents from the fear that gripped them now. Checking his surroundings, Kazz noticed a flicker of movement in the distance. He quickened his pace, following the fleeting trace of fur that disappeared into a dimly lit alley. His heart pounded, adrenaline surging through his body as he silently closed the gap between himself and the lurking predator. The alley opened up before him, a twisted path adorned with graffiti and discarded debris. The stench of garbage mixed with the scent of blood, a chilling reminder of the wolf's gruesome appetite. Kazz instinctively gripped the hilt of his gleaming sword, his knuckles whitening with determination.  It was then that he saw it—an enormous black beast standing over a lifeless body, crimson staining its maw. The wolf met Kazz's gaze with piercing yellow eyes, a feral glimmer dancing in its depths. It growled, baring its deadly fangs, and lowered itself into a crouch, preparing for battle.

Kazz took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing. "Nensh, remember we are Saito! We can do this," he said, his voice steady despite the flutter of nerves within. The talking cat nodded, its tail flicking with anticipation. The predator lunged, a blur of fur and teeth hurtling towards Kazz. With a well-practiced maneuver, he sidestepped the attack, Kazz's newly formed claws singing through the air, seeking the wolf's hide. his claws made contact, slicing a deep gash and drawing spatters of blood. The wolf snarled, pain fueling its primal fury. It lunged again, darting to the left and then to the right, showing off it's surprising agility. Kazz's senses honed, his muscles responding with lightning reflexes. He parried, dodged, and struck back, his every move calculated and precise.

The battle raged on, the clash of metal against teeth echoing through the narrow alley. Kazz's sweat mixed with the rain, cascading down his face, but he refused to yield. He had faced countless foes before, but this wolf tested the very limits of his power and resolve. Nensh, ever the observant companion, provided guidance as Kazz's sword flashed and danced through the night. "Kazz, focus your attacks on its flanks," the talking cat whispered, its voice barely audible above the chaos of battle. Kazz followed the sage advice, aiming for vulnerable spots that would cripple the beast's movements. The wolf howled in pain, shaking the very foundation of the alley. Blood dripped from its wounds, mingling with rain to form a macabre dance upon the cobblestones. But despite its injuries, the wolf fought with a tenacity that sent chills down Kazz's spine. Finally, with one swift maneuver, Kazz thrust his fist into the beast's chest, silencing its howls of agony. The wolf collapsed, its form growing still and lifeless. Kazz stood panting, his chest heaving with exertion as the adrenaline slowly ebbed away. The town of Era seemed to hold its breath, a collective sigh of relief mingled with awe. The danger had been vanquished, the streets reclaimed from the predatory force that had terrorized it. Kazz wiped the sweat from his brow, a triumphant smile curving his lips. As he made his way back to the town gates, where the dragon-like creature awaited, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. His battle with the wolf had been a testament to his skill and determination, a reminder of the strength that resided within him. But he knew there was more to this tale, a greater conflict that lay in wait. Daragast stepped forward from the shadows, his eyes gleaming with approval. "Impressive, Kazz," he said, his voice a low rumble. "But also very reckless you shouldn't have taken on the beast alone. that was very dangerous."

Kazz shrugged off the weight of caution, a spark of mischief dancing in his eyes. "If one wolf was enough to kill me I don't deserve the Saito name," he replied, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "One Saito can easily do the job of 10 men." Daragast's lips curved into a rare smile, his respect for Kazz evident in his eyes. "Then may luck be on your side, my young friend," he said, his voice tinged with a blend of reverence and foreboding. "But remember, luck alone will not be enough to face the darkness that awaits." With a final nod, Kazz bid farewell to Era, his feet carrying him towards an unknown destiny. Behind him, the town stood proud and resilient, its streets now bathed in the dim glow of dawn. As he ventured into the unknown, a surge of anticipation swelled within his chest, the promise of adventure and discovery guiding his every step. The landscape shifted around him, the familiar snow-peaked mountains and lush forests replaced by distant horizons and mystical realms. As he journeyed further into the unknown, Kazz marveled at the diverse wonders that awaited him, each step bringing him closer to the answers he sought.  But for now, as the sun painted vibrant hues across the sky, Kazz pressed forward, his gaze fixed upon the path ahead. The adventure had only just begun, and with each passing moment, a thrilling story was etched upon the tapestry of his life.

-THE END-
