In the midst of otherworldly raiders and a pending civil war, there were issues that needed to be tended to here in Oak city. Fiore was under siege and it seemed like even the ghosts and evil spirits of the world would have their way, still. Regardless, Alejandro wouldn't have been in Oak city if they didn't need to be. They were a captain now and they had eaten the Orb of Magi. The power that surged within them was far too great to not be put to good use. They also felt different now. It was as if Lenux's power had its own personality and both theirs and Lenux's were now one. In simpler terms; the orb had caused them to mature in more ways than one. Happy was still getting used to it, it was all still new to him but he was adjusting well. It was Alejandro who felt weird about the whole thing.

The Magic Council had received word about what the Stellan Knight had done and although the entire mission was enough for them to boost them up to Captain, the council weren't happy, apparently. Kyro was no longer overseeing the former lieutenant, but his last words included the council's perspective. Nobody had contacted Alejandro about the situation yet and so for now, it was none of their concern. The Celdruan elf strolled through the streets of Oak city. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. All the civilians had found safety between the walls of their homes, and for good reason too. These days you didn't know who was a double from the other universe. paranoia spread like a wild disease, and not just in the west region of Fiore. Even back at the capital people lived in fear. They waited impatiently for it all to be over.

The city had been in ruins since the last time the young elf had seen it. It seemed without Odin's protection, Oak city was becoming a reflection of chaos and anarchy. They expected Eternal Nightmare to be on top of these things but they were likely dealing with the politics of their guild. Most likely there were people who yearned for power since Odin's death. Alas, the Captain expected one of the biggest names in the guild like Erebus Gremshaw or Caius. It would be interesting to see what became of Eternal Nightmare. Would they fall? Or would they continue on in Odins name and honor? Only time would tell. Rain began to pour down on the city as darkened clouds began to claim this part of the world as their own territory. Rain was fitting for a place like this. It was already grim and gloomy, the pending storm would certainly top it off.

The Rune Knight Captain wore their white garments. A cloak waved in the light breezes as their silver and gold jewelry draped over their neck. Per usual, a giant Elk was sported on the back of their cloak, hidden beneath their golden bow: Storm Caller. Storm Caller was a legendary bow, extremely rare and extremely pricey. There were only two in the entire world so it was by the grace of the gods that Alejandro Celdrua had come across one of them. Its power could not be mimicked, so they were extremely grateful. It appeared to them just after they fought Bane back at Orchidia's church. The only logical explanation was that this one was locked inside of the Orb of Magi. The power of Lenux was mysterious and Alejandro had yet to understand it. What they did know was that eating it only increased their dragon slayer powers. In fact, the power was almost overwhelming.

Happy rode on the back of his companion. This wasn't a common thing they did, it just so happened that Happy didn't often wear shoes and the rain was making the ground very uncomfortable to walk on. The exceed wasn't a fan of the rain much, it ruined his mood every time. The sourpuss groaned and grumbled as Alejandro walked. He was ready to get to the church already. Luckily for him the church was just up ahead. For a place of worship and light it gave off a very ominous vibe. If it was revealed that cult activities had been taking place inside the church, Alejandro would easily believe it. The doors were huge and contrary to the vibe, the color on the building was quite bright. Under the clouds however, it became dark. Perhaps in the sun it was a much different place, but today, it was not.

Alejandro slowly pushed open the doors of the church. They had learned their lesson about what could be hidden behind doors. They could no longer trust that the house of Illumin was always safe place. This particular church though, was completely empty save for the priest who had been praying at the alter. "You're here." he said before turning to face Alejandro. "And what a beauty you are..." he said quickly standing to his feet. Happy leapt down off of Ale's back. "Don't get any bright ideas pal." The extalian scoffed and rolled his eyes. "What's the situation, father?" Alejandro asked. While Illumin wasn't the god they worshipped, they were still respectful of others beliefs and roles. Culture was a beautiful thing, despite all the war it brought throughout history. The priest sighed as he made his way closer towards the duo here to carry out the task. The Priest seemed reluctant to speak at first.

"We've had the same issue nearly everyday for the past few years. The spirits in the crypts become angered and start lashing out. Some of the haunt the people who come to worship. It's become a thing that I don't believe will ever change. As you could imagine...its made it hard to bring people in. Over the years our number of members have dwindled.." He vented. Alejandro blinked awkwardly. "Y-yeah, I've heard. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm certain that we'll find a permanent solution." Alejandro sighed rubbing the back of their head. "Anyway, tonight the spirit of a woman who must be around three-hundred years old is trying to break free from the crypts.. She's powerful. I'll need you to send her off." It sounded easy enough. Most spirits weren't too strong in the crypts according to reports. It became a lot more worrisome when the spirits could break free.

Alejandro knew what needed to be done. They turned to happy and told him to stay on the main floor which of course was not something the exceed wanted to hear. Unfortunately for him, Ale called the shots. The Wood-Elf was familiar with the way spirits worked. In the Elven community they communicated with spirits often. The only difference was that the spirits they communicated and worked with were nature spirits or ancestral spirits, most of which would never find themselves corrupted. Alejandro made their way downstairs, grabbing ahold of their dagger in case they needed to react quickly. Their steps were a lot lighter than normal people, so the Spirits would have to be paying attention to hear them coming. The energy down hair was off. For a church this was probably one of the most unsafest places one could be. How odd, they thought. Alas, they continued to walk in further, keeping their eyes peeled for anything strange.

A couple of minutes went by before they suddenly heard a voice singing. The voice was beautiful, alluring even. The Celdrua turned and began to follow it. Along with the beautiful voice was also a smell so bad that it made them want to throw up. The Captain put the back of their hand to their nose and scrunched their face. It was bearable for the most part. Just as they were about to take another step forward, the singing voice manifested into a woman wearing a white gown. Where her heart would have been was a bloody hole. "You must be her..." Alejandro said softly. Spirits were often misunderstood, corrupted or otherwise. "You mean the woman in the crypts? Yes... I've been here for too long." She sad. Her voice carried years of sadness. "I'm sorry... but there's a way out.." Alejandro began. Still, their hand clutched their weapon.

"Yes, through that door..." She said. The Elf shook their head. They knew she wanted to get out of the crypt, but they wouldn't allow her to wiggle into the world of the living, not in her state. That was far too dangerous. "No, I'm afraid. You have to move on..." Alejandro said. "NO!" the building began to shake and crumble, dust and debris began to fall. "It's the only way-" "NO!!" She waved her arms in frustration shaking the building even more. She didn't want to hear it and she definitely didn't want to cross over. Suddenly she began to fly towards Alejandro. She was so fast the Captain couldn't move in time. They crossed their arms to defend as she knocked them back. With a grunt the slid on their feet. Darting forward as speed almost equivalent, they slashed their dagger across her chest and just like that she was done for. The Knight turned to her just as her body began to burn into cinder, floating into the air before dispersing. Alejandro had hope to gently usher her along, but sometimes it couldn't be helped. All they could hope for was that wherever she went after would be kind to her. Now that all was done the elf made their way back upstairs to a nearly destroyed church to collect their reward. These spirits were getting stronger.
