Dahlia city. The city of darkness, death, mayhem and creatures that never sleep. It was so dusty and rugged here, but Z'Aleel preferred things this way. This was the real world, little ol' Dahlia. This anarchic city felt like the only place in the entire country worthy of his corrupted grace. No pigs running around here, not many lowly stinking humans polluting the streets; just an occasional scream in the distance and the stench of blood and death. Aleel wasn't here to simply enjoy the scenery though- at least not for the most part. The Nimulli was here to scope out the area, find somewhere to set up shop and begin the plot to takeover this little city. Not to mention there was a dragon sighting here, but that was a bonus. Erebus thought it'd be good training for the Nimulli.

His sweater flapped in the late night summer breeze, his bangs blowing wildly. He was still getting used to this new form. It felt like he lived an extra ten years in the span of a single night. Each step that Zael and his companion took damn near sent an echo throughout the city. It was too quiet tonight. "I love it here." Za said blankly, his eyes darting around the streets in front of him. His hands sat inside his pockets. "Yes, Just wonderful. Vampiric pricks spreading their diseases, man-dogs pissing everywhere. It doesn't get much better than this." Luci said sarcastically. Zael had forgotten that he was no longer really alone. It had been a while since he had a companion. Luci was an asshole who pretty much hated that he was assigned to babysit the Nimulli, but he was good company nonetheless.

It was hard to imagine an entire section of a city being taken over by a creature, regardless of its origins. Humanity had come so far, taking up much of the available lands within Earthland for their empires and cities. There had not been many instances of such a thing occurring for decades, long enough that most people alive knew of such events as stories rather than actual things which happened. Yet somehow, that's exactly what had occurred underneath the noses of the Rune Knights, and it was why they dispatched Jove Augustus to the city in order to put a stop to it quickly.

Jove had recently become a favorite harbinger of the Knights Council. The last remaining Captain-Commander, he had done his duty diligently. From Erebus to Hitomi, and even dealing with the chaotic Seika, he seemed to be able to get nearly any job done. The man who had risen quietly through the ranks seemed to now capture all the attention of the organization for which he operated.

Scythe on his back, still in his humanoid form, Jove slowly patrolled the streets with his hands in his pockets. He had only just entered the abandoned streets, and wondered how long it'd be until, at the far edges of his vision, something snapped into view. It wasn't something he saw in the traditional sense, but rather he understood something had just entered the far left of his senses and at incredible speeds. Jove wasted no time, his already primed legs pushing himself backwards. As he pushed back, bright electricity sparked in a thin line through where his head once sat, melting the stone of the buildings as it came in contact. "Not this shit again," he grumbled, the scar on his chest now throbbing with memories of Seika's spear.

As empty as the streets were, it was hard to believe that in a city like this there were no creatures in the shadows. The Nimulli could almost feel them lurking...watching, waiting to pounce on the idiot that had decided to roam at this hour. However, these creatures of the night would never step up to the child of evil himself, not if they could feel his aura. It wasn't that Z'Aleel was overwhelmingly strong or anything like that, it was the fact that he was so obviously guarded that made them stay away. To the naked eye, the demons around Z'Aleel hadn't existed but any capable person would see the truth. The demons were here. They were back to finish what they had failed to do before and they walked among us all. Z'Aleel looked about, absorbing the details of this city so that he was familiar before settling here. One could even say that a stern hand was long overdue for this city. Soon enough the child of darkness would become the colonizer the world needed and luckily for the world, Dahlia wasn't the only place the Nimulli believed was up for grabs.

A shriek in the distance halted both the angel and the demon in their tracks. The sound boomed through the city of mayhem, echoing through the streets. The few lights in the windows of apartments immediately shut off. The civilians of this city were accustomed to random omens of terror like this. For them, it was protocol, for Z'Aleel, it was an invitation to a good time. "Welp." the demon remarked as the duo turned to see the source of the noise. He whipped out a flask, unscrewed the top and took a sip. The Nimulli watched for a brief moment in awe as a dragon soared through the night's sky. It was small in comparison to other dragons, at least from the one he had memories of experiencing. The Dragon opened its mouth, shooting out a beam of lighting, mercilessly destroying an entire building.

Screams of agony filled the air. You would think that the Dragons attack would be enough to move the generic looking white man from where he stood, but the man didn't waver. With his Scythe on his back, he hardly seemed phased at all. Still, there was something oddly familiar about him. "You think it'll eat that human?" Zael asked Luci. His hands were tucked safely within his pockets as they slowly moved towards the commotion. "I wouldn't eat him." the demon said. "We should help him." Za remarked as he approached from behind the Reaper Knight.

The energy blast shot past Jove, having done destruction to the city around him. There were sounds of screams, mixes of fear and pain in the wake of the might breath. It was obvious that the abandoned streets would never be truly abandoned; those expunged by society, unable to fend for themselves, would congregate to the safest area which shielded them from the gaze of their neighbor. These streets were abandoned by the tax dollar, left to rot and to pool the festering wound of the city. Jove's lips turned into a deep frown, as he realized that it was his negligence which had allowed for the innocent to suffer, and perhaps die.

"Superbia."

His words were insignificant to all, except for the one who spoke them and the one for whom the words were intended. Fire expelled from Jove's body, his physical appearance altering quickly in order to express the binding of him and the Devil. Lucifer, the Lord of his kind, still bonded complacently with Jove's soul. Jove turned his attention to the dragon, its mighty wings allowing it to to soar through the sky, and its eyes locked firmly on the man who stood below. The Reaper returned its gaze in kind, his own face expressionless despite the throbbing vein in his neck which expressed his extreme displeasure.

Opening his mouth wide, his head turned quickly in a snap, positioning himself ahead of where the scaled beast flew. A mighty blast escaped his lips, shooting forward and slamming into the side of the drake. A roar of great displeasure echoed out as the dragon writhed through the air, quickly descending down upon where Jove stood and landing in the square before him. It was massive in comparison to him, and yet the Knight did not shrink back.

"Mmmmmm." Za began to smile as he shifted his body slightly, the Dragon's beam just passing his body right after he came to a halt about ten meters behind the human reaper. The townsfolk screamed in fear from their buildings as they scrambled to close their windows and find comfort of their homes. For however long this battle would take, their apartments served as their own little heavens. Alas, the Dragon was able to snatch it all away. His attacks hurled through buildings for the next block or so, causing an explosion in the distance. Fear didn't truly exist in the heart of the Nimulli, not when it came to any mortal being on this plane of course. All he could feel in this moment was excitement. The muscular dark skinned Archfiend bit the tip of his thumb, causing a magic circle to appear directly beside him as a fiend called Eznalos arose from the depths of the underworld. The entrance was grand, causing what could only be described as a fire-like energy to erupt. The ground beneath the magic circle cracked and there he was.

"Lord Nimulli." The beast said.

In all his Glory Eznalos towered above all mortals in the vicinity, putting on a spectacle that outdid the magnificence of the dragon itself. Suddenly though, something just as intriguing happened. The man before them transformed into something even greater than an evil spirit or a dragon, something truly ground-breaking and only after muttering a simple word at that. The small cat-like demons eyes widened, as did Z'Aleel's. This power that they had felt, it was...god-like. It was unlike any being the two of them had ever come across. Yet at the same time this intense magical energy was familiar. too familiar. Za was stuck in his tracks. The last time he had felt like this was right before his transformation. Only a devil, a true devil- not even a Demon King- could spark this type of emotion. Only a split second later this same creature had released a spell just like the dragon had done, striking it onto its side. The Dragon roared in pain before crashing into a building. "What the...hell?"

The Dragon wasn't finished yet thought. The mighty beast was keen on being victorious. "This power...It can't be..." The beast believed that it was the superior creature and it wasn't done just yet, by my how wrong it had been. Za moved his hand to move towards the entity who had once been a man. The Mangler moved with the swing of a hand and the beast opened its mouth once more. Luci turned to Za, confused. How could he understand? He didn't feel what the Nimulli had felt in this very moment. The dragon finally released another beam of energy towards the stranger, but Eznalos quickly slid in front of him, stretching his arms and tanking the entire attack. "Z..." Luci whispered, still glued to his position. "This man..."

"Yeah. He's the Vessel of Lucifer."

The dragon had likely been in shock that a power equal, if not greater than, its own had been volleyed back at it. A rude awakening indeed for a being who thought itself the peak of the food chain. Jove stared at the beast with an overwhelming aura of confidence about him, as if it were realistically a forgone conclusion that the two would reign victorious over the beast of legends. Indeed, the vessel of Lucifer had no reason to fear the beast before him; he was not cocky, instead simply being very aware of his own abilities and capacity. When compared to something like this dragon, it wasn't even close.

It turned to him, firing off a blast from the building it crashed into. Jove was preparing to respond, when the most peculiar thing happened. Something which had been created by the other fellow threw itself between Jove and the attack, as if to protect him. The knight stared at the being, clearly caught off guard and confused at its willingness to simply throw its own life away. Jove turned his attention to the summoner, and cocked a brow in confusion. That was when the dragon acted.

Its body evaporated into sparks of electricity, the briefest experience of a lightning bolt appearing where the dragon had been and instantly ending near Za, before the dragon rematerialized out of nothing. Near instant transformation, its mighty claws already plowing forward. It was too late to move, or to cast any motions with ones hands or extremities in the time it took for this dragon to move.

And yet, Jove managed. A smirk was all it took to cast the spell, his expertise in magic allowing him to cast a supplementary spell on anyone he deemed as an ally. The claw had slashed open Za's shirt, the cloth being thrown to a side. For a moment, perhaps the boy would even believe himself to be the one who was injured there. After only a moment though the reality would be apparent. The dragon had been the one to attack Za, and yet its own chest now reflected deep claw wounds consistent with its own attack. A roar of pain came out of the dragons maw as it stumbled, dropping momentarily to a knee before Za.

Lucifer, ever present, managed to effect Jove's behavior somewhat at this point. Though the stoic nine to five mage didn't speak to the beast, Jove's chin lifted up in superiority, his gaze now looking down at the eyes of the fallen dragon. It was a simple gesture, but one which exuded a sense of confidence and emphasized the separation between them. "Lets take care of this thing quickly."
