Poropo went to Father Jared within Kardia Cathedral in order to obtain the details on a job. The monk was more than happy to complete a job for Father Jared after everything Father Jared had done to make Magnolia a welcoming place. Not only did Father Jared help to build a wonderful community, he also gave the monk peaceful jobs, most of the time, but this seemed to be the only possible exception the monk could think of - this next job involved finding someone within the East Forest, if they were there, and rescuing them from possible wildlife. The monk was not so keen on causing violence just to save someone who put themselves into a dangerous situation, but Father Jared was a man worth doing a job for so the monk accepted without hesitation! Poropo waddled his way to the East Forest in search of Father Malcom real fast.

Poropo accepted a job from Father Jared in order to find and rescue Father Malcom, if Father Malcom was even in trouble to begin with. There was a chance Father Malcom was simply having a fun time skipping around within the East Forest, feeding animals he came across and making Father Jared wait for no reason other than to have some fun with wildlife. Father Jared said Father Malcom had a bad habit of feeding wildlife which had nearly gotten Father Malcom into hot water more than once, but never hot enough to stop him from trying again and again. Poropo would hopefully find Father Malcom regretting his choice of feeding wildlife this time around only so Father Jared could have timely meetings with his friends without having to be worried about them ever again - the monk intended to save Father Malcom in a non-violent manner hopefully sooner than later.

The monk waddled his way through the East Forest in search of Father Malcom, hopefully finding him sooner rather than later. The East Forest was awfully quiet today, unnerving the monk a little about the trouble Father Malcom had gotten himself into this time. The monk did not know Father Malcom personally, but had heard plenty from Father Jared who was good friends with Father Malcom - both priests were extremely friendly people who build up wonderful communities within Fiore, but their kindness can sometimes get them into hot water. Not even Father Jared was an exception - the monk had previously helped Father Jared arrange and escort a marriage between enemy families. Nothing horrible happened, thankfully, but the monk was sure someone would get hurt. To be fair, Father Jared was helping to eases a horrible situation for the young couple who were trapped in violent families who hated each other.

In the end, the young couple were married successfully, but could no longer stay within Magnolia. Father Jared's kindness got him in hot water just as much as Father Malcom seemed to get in hot water for feeding wild animals. Eventually, while wondering aimlessly through the East Forest, Poropo heard the sound of metal chains. The monk was suspicious of this sound and decided to investigate, keeping close his trusty Elder Sage's Staff which strengthened his connection with the Iron Deity. Granted, the monk's new magic gifted to him by the Iron Deity recently, Baratuq Magic, seemed to cover all aspects of his magic aside from buffing spells - the monk was happy to keep using the Elder Sage's Staff, but there was hardly a need as the monk continued to master his magical capabilities. While the monk thought about everything he was able to do to defend himself he waddled.

The monk waddled closer to the sound of struggling chains until finally the monk saw Father Malcom chained up in a strangely large, single manacle! Poropo rushed towards Father Jared in a hurry to try and free the poor priest - the manacle was keeping the priest's waist shackled against a cave wall near the entrance. Father Malcom looked a little ragged but not injured - perhaps he was surprised and shackled while he was sleeping which would explain the lack of wounds. Poropo attempted to pull the shackle off, but whatever the monk had tried was likely already tried by Father Malcom. There was a large padlock on the manacle which the monk had a feeling could be destroyed using brute force, but whatever or whoever shackled Father Malcom was likely close by still, according to Father Malcom. Poropo asked what had done this to Father Malcom and the priest explained.

Father Malcom detailed the creature which had shackled his waist to the cave wall - a white-fur vulcan with black skin and a large horn on the top of their head. The muscular, gorilla-like monkey had surprised Father Malcom after the priest had shown the vulcan some kindness by feeding the starving creature - Poropo was not surprised based on the information Father Jared had given the monk before starting this job to save Father Malcom. The monk stopped struggling against the large manacle around Father Malcom's waist and decided he would summon the Immortal Ring to help shatter the padlock on the manacle. However, a gruff grunting behind the monk indicated he had tried to help Father Malcom at the wrong time - with a gust of wind, Poropo was hit by a flying platter which had been carrying fruit as well! The monk fell on his face, covered in fruity gore.

The vulcan had arrived with a fruit platter, but had decided to throw the fruit platter at Poropo who was trying to free Father Malcom! Poropo figured the vulcan was trying to prepare Father Malcom to be eaten so the monk definitely had to summon the Immortal Ring to help fight the vulcan off! The monk shakily got up from the ground and shouted he would use violence if he had to in order to save Father Malcom! The vulcan did not seem to be listening to reason as he charged the monk at full speed - the monk was ready and summoned the Immortal Ring between himself and the charging vulcan! The monk also used Heavyweight Mithril in order to strengthen the Immortal ring tremendously! The vulcan came charging at full force in the direction of Poropo and the Immortal Ring, all prepared to hit each other really hard today!

The Immortal Ring went for a punch on the vulcan, but then missed by a mile as the vulcan lunged over the small summon and past Poropo to the platter on the ground! Poropo was shocked by the speed of the vulcan, but more shocked by the behavior of the vulcan! The vulcan seemed to have ignored the Immortal Ring and Poropo altogether, going straight for the thrown platter of fruit which lay bent and mangled on the ground along with a splatter of fruity gore from destroyed fruits. The monk's head was sore, unable to process what was happening right now - the vulcan then started to sob and looked back to Poropo with sad eyes. The monk was unsure of what to make of this situation and decided to waddle over to the vulcan to try and comfort the enormous creature - perhaps the monk misunderstood the situation right now.

The monk and vulcan began talking while the monk was caressing the white fur of the vulcan - the vulcan seemed capable of speaking the same language as Poropo and Father Malcom, but very choppy and irregularly. Father Malcom had shown great kindness to the vulcan, who's name was Rodney, which lead to Father Malcom being given a place to stay at the vulcan's cave. The vulcan's method of insisting Father Malcom to stay for lunch was a little more forced than the vulcan realized - up until this point any guest the vulcan had was too afraid to stay due to the vulcan's appearance so the large manacle was used to force guests to understand Rodney was a kind soul. Regardless, Father Malcom and Rodney had both made mistakes which they paid for in some way or another - Father Malcom was eventually escorted back to Kardia Cathedral by Poropo where a fun story could be shared between the priests for years to come.
