Making it back to where the priest was from before, Shichiro was currently waiting with Keita on the priest who had seemed troubled while they were gone. He didn't allow the two of them to leave just yet as there was still another task to be completed. Shichiro wondered why the priest didn't just tell them all of their objectives all at once so they could have cleaned up everything at the same time and be on their way right about now. The priest had explained to the both of them that initially, they were supposed to clear out the undead that was gathering at the entrance of the double doors.

But while they were down stairs clearing them out as instructed, a few of them had already escaped through a different exit and were roaming the town of Oak currently. The priest had been a bit flustered as he asked the two of them to go and destroy the abominations before they had a chance to hurt anybody. Once they are destroyed, completely destroy their remnants so nobody discovers they are undead or bring back the body parts so they can be properly taken off. With that the priest walked over to one of the benches and seemingly disappeared when it looked like he took a seat.

Keita was once again at the church, standing next to Shichiro as he looked on at the priest, being annoyed. It seemed like the priest said that there was some sort of different exit out of the catacombs that the undead were using to leak out into the city streets tonight, and this aggravated Keita quite a bit, because he had thought the priest would tell them eveything about the mission when they were here, or at least on the specifications of the request that he had submitted, but apparently not. So now they had to track down the small bits of undead that were roaming around the city from the church before they hurt anyone.

Apparently they had done this when the two of them were downstairs taking care of the undead that they were supposed to be clearing out, and the priest decided not to inform them quickly, simply wiaitng for them to be done before doing so. This meant that a lot of the undead had a bit of time to spread out more, which was a massive headache. Keita had a plan, however. "Since you're faster than I am, maybe go around in a perimeter and I'll work the opposite way coming from the church to round everyone up. How does that sound?"

Letting out an irritated sigh, Shichiro couldn't believe this was another race against the clock sort of deal he was given. Sometimes he wondered if the payment was worth all of this sometimes until he realized he didn't have much of a choice as this was always sprung on him. Regardless of what he might like to do, he figured it would be best to go there and get this over with as he'd like to be able to sleep tonight without hearing the screams of innocent people he couldn't save. With that, he decided he would defer to his cousin's plan and just split up this time around in order to locate and dispatch some of the escaped undead.

"Alright, that sounds like a plan, they shouldn't be too hard to locate as they shouldn't have gone far I imagine. If anything, they shouldn't have gotten that far, if they were the walking creatures anyway. If it's the specters that's a bigger issue. Anyway, let's get out of here and hurry. I hope I get extra for this kind of last minute request." Shichiro explained before placing his hands into his pockets. Unfortunately, a job is a job regardless of how it happens.

It seemed that his cousin here would be following his plant, at least for the outset, as this would same them a lot of time in the long run, especially if the ones that were escaping were the incorporeal undead that could fly around, but they would cause a big commotion somewhere, and it would have most likely already happened, depending on here they actually left, but there were still plenty of people out at night in a large city such as this, and so there was bound to be some screaming if the ones that could fly around were out and about, unless people mistook them for something they could only see while they were drunk.

Hallucinations aside, Keita started to execute the plan, and started to head to the actual entrance that the undead were pouring out of. This would make it easier to contain if he could go and close the damned door that was leaking all of the zombies out, and so this would stop any further spread. Only then would he think about exterminating the rest of the undead. He did not want to do twice the work for half the pay, so to speak. Still, he wanted to make sure he kept in contact with his cousin also. "Meet back here every half hour or so?" Keita would say instead of ask, as he was already leaving the area.

And just like that, the plan was set for the two of them as he began to leave the church the same way he came in. "Yeah, sounds like a plan. Let's hurry and try to control the situation as best as we can." As soon as he finished saying that statement, Shichiro quickly walked towards the double doors and pushed them open. Afterwards, he began to dart outside around the area surrounding the church in order to see if he could find any of the undead roaming around or potential people they could harm. Running down the streets of oak, he wanted to check and see if there's any civilians still out and about this late in the night.

A lot of time had passed since both Keita and Shichiro were down in the catacomb entrances so he couldn't quite grasp how far the creatures could have gotten. Shichiro had spotted a couple a little older than him walking down the street in the direction towards the church. He hadn't found anything dangerous yet but he figured he couldn't leave it to chance. Shichiro called out to them, ordering them to vacate the premise using his authority as a Rune Knight.

Keita had made his way towards the exit from the catacombs as he split off with his cousin, and he saw that there were a couple of undead wandering off from the exit, which seemed like a large sewer pipe. He noticed that the grate from the sewer pipe had either been broken off or perhaps chewed on by the group of zombies until it had broken. He would have to give it a closer look to be sure, but he was also going to see if he couldn't plug the hole somehow, or if there was an entrance further in that he could fix. For now, he rushed over to the zombies.

It seemed that they notice him, and the couple of them started shambling closer, and at a faster pace than normal, although they were still quite slow, as their leg muscles were only being held up by residual magic. Keita looped a bit around the side of one, essentially splitting them up a little because of how they were positioned, before throwing one to the ground by sweeping its legs. The other one was dispatched with a wisp crawling into it's head and destroying it from within. He then focused back on the one that was thrown to the ground.

The couple had gotten a bit testy as Shichiro tried to get them to get out of the area. He couldn't tell them the truth as they weren't privy to that knowledge and it would cause a panic if the civilians know the dead like to roam around at night. As he was arguing with the drunk couple, Shichiro could smell a foul stench in the air. He immediately recognized that stench being the walking dead. it was shambling over near an alleyway looking for something to eat as if it found life. Suddenly,. it turned its attention towards the shouting couple and Shichiro. he understood the town of Oak didn't welcome authority figures as much as the rest of the world since it's considered one of the underbellies of most crime syndicates.

It seems to be so common even the common folk have adopted the hate of law enforcements but it didn't matter to him. In the end, he was being paid to save these idiots, even if they didn't realize it yet. Shichiro then decided to abuse his authority by threatening, not only them but their loved ones as well for obstructing justice, throwing them and their families in era dungeon.

Keita had thrown the first zombie to the floor while he dispatched the second zombie, and it seemed that the second zombie was having trouble standing up, as it was slow and had a bit of it's rotten upper body smashed. This grossed out Keita to no end, but he managed to force the bile back down and stomach it. He then simply brought his leg up above his head and then struck the zombie's head with his heel, destroying the head and the zombie in one fell swoop. Keita then looked arounds, and did not see any other zombies in the general vicinity, so he headed into the sewer entrance. The sewer smelled just like the sewer, which masked the stench of the undead quite well, which was probably why no one around noticed.

Keita headed in a bit deeper, before seeing another zombie standing in front of a door, the wooden beam that was holding the door closed before this was on the floor in front of the zombie, with the double doors wide open. Keita could see the other zombies amassing on the other side, so he acted quickly, running over and jump kicking the zombie in the chest, shoving him back in, before closing and barring the door once again.

The couple didn't take kindly to this as he threatened them and their families so after a few more jeers, they had complied with the Knight and went on with their night. Fortunately, it's in the opposite direction of the walking dead he had spotted behind them. After receiving an inappropriate gesture, Shichiro returned it properly before walking over to the undead zombie that had been rummaging through the trash in order to feed on living creatures. He was lucky that it hadn't seen him or the couple that he was forcing to go to their home. Well, he decided it was time to get this over with. With the large sacrificial shield on his back, Shichiro raised both hands as if he were preparing to strike or gyard before yelling, "HEY!!" to get the undead's attention.

As quickly as the words left his mouth had the zombie turned it's attention towards him. As it began to shamble towards him, Shichiro decided to step in and swiftly punch it in it's torso, knocking it backwards around five meters. Afterwards, he relaxed his guard, walking towards the undead in order to see if he had put it out of it's misery, permanently or if he needed to apply any additional damage towards it.

After the door was closed and barred, that was one worry that did not need to be expanded upon, as he simply heard the undead lightly brushing up against the door on the other side, not trying to smash it in or anything. Keita started to head out and began in a circle towards the counter clockwise direction, looking for more undead to finish off so that they did not wander too far away from this place and hurt an innocent person. While he was walking around, he was wondering how the place even got opened, as it was opened from this side. The wooden beam was not going to just unlatch itself from the door, and so someone needed to have done it.

Keita was unsure if it was the priest, as usually people could rule the priest out because they were the one that called in the request in the first place. It did not make much sense to call the policing members of society on yourself, did it? Keita still had a sneaking suspicion about that man though, but for now it was best to continue on. He then simply kept circling until he saw a couple more of the undead roving around outside, looking for flesh.

Upon further inspection, Shichiro had found the undead twitching a bit as it struggled to get back up. Either he was not hitting it with enough force or this one was more resilient than normal. All it usually took was one punch to get the job done and move on with his day. Whichever the reason would be, it didn't matter as shichiro proceeded to raise his right foot, over the head of the undead and violently crash it onto the undead's head, permanently putting it out of commission. Now that he was done with that, all he had to do was burn it, making sure this isn't one of the ones that can function even with the loss of it's head.

Regardless of if it could or not, he'd have to burn it anyway to make sure the towns folk couldn't discover the body. Kneeling down next to the corpse, he began to mutter some words, followed by making some signs with both of his hands like the ninjas he read about in his fantasy books, slowly lighting the body ablaze in order to burn it. He had to be through and watch it to make sure it didn't catch the buildings it was in between on fire as well.

Keita thought of a wonderful idea, which was to use his will o wisp magic to go around and find the undead that were wandering around. This would b e much easier, especially because he specialized in magic that summoned entities that he could control and command. He did not have the power to see from their senses or anything of the sort, so he could only tell them to fan out and come back to him when they had found an undead. He was a bit more central, being close to the exit where the undead came from and working his way around the perimeter of this inner circle, so it was fairly soon before a wisp came back, indicating that it found an undead.

Keita simply summoned another wisp, and this one would accompany the first to go over and destroy the head of the zombie, usually by getting into the head from the ears or nose and attacking the inside of the zombie's head until it broke. In this way, he could go and destroy multiple undead at once, himself going to seek out undead, and his group of wisps attacking the second. His efficiency increased quite a bit by doing this.

Watching the body burn for about five minutes, Shichiro had completed the task of deleting the evidence before chanting another verse of some kind that he had learned from his mentor. It was useful for combat but at least he could use this strong gust of wind to blow away the remaining ashes of the charred corpse he had been forced to burn. With all of that said and down, Shichiro left the alley way, hoping nobody saw what had transpired although he didn't care too much as he was just running damage control for the church's mistakes. It would be up to them to cover their own asses should people ask too many questions.

He was only here to make sure the undead didn't attack, kill and add more to their own ranks. Luckily, it was quite difficult for that process to happen as the targets would have to be completely dead first and it would take at least a day for them to turn. Placing his hands into his pockets, Shichiro continued on with his search for the undead in the surrounding area of the church. It didn't take long for him to find another undead, creeping on another unsuspecting victim.

As Keita was running around the center of the area while his will o wisps were floating around other parts, when he had another good idea. He was finding undead faster than he could go over and destroy them, and sending just two of the will o wisps over there was not getting the job done, so he decided to be a bit more active in the approach, and so he gathered all of his will o wisps in a grouping, and had a couple of them, two to be exact, to go around and scout out for the bigger mass of them. Once one of the two found an undead enemy, they would fly back to the large group, and then back to the undead, with the large group going over and destroying the undead rapidly.

This turned out to be a really good system after a while, a couple minutes going by and Keita realizing that the undead were being mowed down. It seemed like his cousin had to face off against a considerably larger number, as they would have poured out and scattered before the priest even figured out what was going wrong, so he was being far more stressed than Keita was, and he appreciated that, because just running around closer to the exit was making him out of breath.

Shichiro had spotted another drunk man slumped down against some walls of a building. From what Shichiro could tell, it seemed he had a few too many to drink. Shichiro knew all too well what that feels like at times but this wasn't the night to be wasted in the middle of the night, or ever, when it comes to the city of Oak. It was a brood of criminal activity after all and he'd prefer not to get involved if he didn't have too. That's when he saw it, a little behind the man in a drunken stupor. A specter that had escaped from the underground.

The man was so out of it, he didn't realize he was in danger of death. Specters weren't like the walking dead that attack people physically in order to feast on their flesh, but more akin to draining their essence through their faces. It was a ghastly sight and it seems as if this one in particular would go after the man that was slumped over. Physical attacks weren't very effective to specters although they didn't render completely ineffective as they were more corporal beings than flesh and blood. Well, Shichiro had a job to do even if he didn't feel like it.

Keita had to take a quick break from the undead killing, as he did not have the stamina or the mana to keep up with all of the running around and attacking. It seemed that Shichiro was doing a good job, as there was quite a few of the large fiery explosions from his destruction of the undead. Keita had suddenly come across a park bench, and sat on it as a couple of the wisps wandered around him. He was taking a breather, pulling out a water bottle that he had always had on him, and taking big swigs. It was not some sort of thermos, so the water in it was simply cool and tepid, instead of cold like he liked it.

It gave him a nice and refreshing break from all of the undead killing. Soon though, this turned into a fairly tense situation, as out of the corner of his eye when he was drinking, Keita saw a large horde of undead coming towards him. These undead seemed to have banded together in a large swarm, and were slightly faster, almost as if they had become stronger by being in a group, and so Keita was forced to run. "Hey Shichiro! A little assistance please!" Keita would yell.

Without further delay, Shichiro had run towards the specter in in order to attack it with hopes of being able to shove it away from the drunkard. With that idea in mind, he delivered a swift punch towards the specter knocking it away from the man before it could do it's essence stealing ritual. This angered the specter and it began to retaliate but luckily for Shichiro he was not free to cast spells without doing any harm to the man. So, he figured it was time to reuse the spell previously that lit the corpse ablaze. It wasn't powerful or anything strong enough to kill normal combatants but it works wonders on the undead as they have a vulnerability to fire and light.

With that being said, after he had slain the specter, he had heard the call of his cousin, asking to aid him with what seemed like a horde of zombies somewhere back near the church. Shichiro had responded with, "on my way," as he took off in the direction of where he heard the voice. Running towards Keita's location, he had found a huge swarm of undead near Keita's position. He figured he would open up the assault with a powerful spell in order to subdue the horde, tonight was not his night he assumed.

Keita could be seen running frantically away from the undead horde, definitely biting off more than he could chew by choosing to come on this high ranking missions, but it was sort of fun to him, in a way. Running for his life was a bit of an adrenaline spike that he might have been able to enjoy, should the horde not wanting to rip him to pieces and eat them. He also wondered why they wanted human and live flesh, they could not get any nutrition out of it, so it was pretty useless, but he did not care about that. He heard his cousin say that he was on his way, so he rushed towards where he heard the noise as fast as possible,.

With his panting and struggling, he finally made it over towards his cousin, Shichiro being only around twenty feet away from him, and Shichiro would be able to see the large horde of thirty or so undead writhing around and somewhat jogging. Normally this would not be any sort of problem, but with Keita being in between Shichiro and the undead, he hoped that his cousin had a way to hit them without catching him in the cross fire as well.

As he planned to, Shichiro decided he'd unleash a powerful fire technique at the horde, unfortunately for him, Keita was in between the both of them so he couldn't execute his plan like he wanted too without a bit of adjustment. Instead, he decided he would just move forward a bit further while channeling said spell in order to unleash it the moment he got in between the horde and his cousin, Keita. Not a second sooner, as he went past Keita, he unleashed a powerful flame in the form of a dragon towards the zombies. It was a power spell that he couldn't use in the heat of battle since it took too long to prepare.

However this was the perfect scenario in which he could use it and not have too much to worry about. Well, after unleashing the spell, there wasn't a single walker left as Shichiro hoped. Now all he had to do was get out of the area quickly before people came to wonder what caused that huge explosion of flames. Moving back towards Keita, he began to tug on his shirt, whispering, "We have to get out of here now, quickly" Soon after afterwards, the two of them made it back to the church to find the priest had their payments prepared, handing it over to both Keita and Shichiro before they had head back out in order to do the next job.

Suddenly, Shichiro whizzed past Keita in a bit of a blur, at least it was a blur to Keita, as he was quite a number of times faster than he was, and so all he could tell was a rush of air go by him, and then suddenly a massive amount of heat. The heat was spreading behind him almost made him fall forward, but it had a calming effect as well, considering now he did not need to worry about the zxombies chasing him anymore, he sort of had a wave of lethargy wash over him. The adrenaline spike of running for his life subsided, and so now he sort of just slumped down in a seated position, catching his breath. He was overly tired.

"Where, looks like I need more cardio." Keita would say in a slightly half hearted and joking manner to his cousin who had just destroyed all of the undead. After taking a bit of a break, Keita got up and walked with Shichiro back to the church, using what little energy he had left to jog alongside of Shichiro, as they had cause quite a big commotion, so they wanted to leave the scene immediately and get their money.
