Making his way through the city of Baska, Shichiro decided this would be the perfect time to hone his flying lemur companion's scavenging abilities. He had gone to the arena matchmaking system in order to confirm what time he was going to be facing a new opponent. He couldn't confirm their abilities of course since they didn't have that information at all and the combatants had to play it by ear. All that really mattered to him though was the time and since he had an entire day to himself, he figured he'd go and use this time to train his new lemur monkey in the art of scavenging for jewels when he went out on quests and tasks. Taking out a handful of jewels, Shichro began to start his attempt at training the creature. He scattered a few of the jewels and placed some near himself. The goal of the exercise was to teach the lemur what gold was acceptable to take and what wasn't acceptable to take. Of course, the jewels near himself represented what jewels weren't okay to take and he'd show that in a form of plucking a pebble at the lemur monkey or large body motions that would serve to show how humans would react when agitated. After a few rounds of this, the lemur started to get the hang of it and understand that if humans were near, carrying it or actively holding it, he shouldn't try and take it back to his human companion, Shichiro. When the flying lemur had gotten the hang of it, Shichiro rewarded it with some fresh berries and nuts he had found on his way here. Deciding the flying lemur could practice on his own, Shichiro went to a nearby wooden structure to slump down near in order to get some rest before his match at the tournament.

Closing his eyes slightly, Shichiro began to relax and daydream as he so usually likes to do when trying to kill time. He was interrupted before by the very creature he sought out to train now so he would like to go back into that memory of him being a soldier fighting a war. he didn't remember where he was last time on the memory so he figured he'd start over from the beginning in order to determine where and when certain things are or were. He didn't mind starting over at the beginning again as he was always hoping for action like this to happen but alas, things like this can only happen in his dreams. Not even as a Rune Knight, did he get the satisfaction of a raid or a siege yet even though he was promoted as a Captain awhile ago. Maybe the timing was just poor and things have been relatively peaceful in recent days. Well that kind of sucks but nothing he could do about it but feed off the sweet memory of a dream. Continuing to relax, a faint smile had appeared on his face as he pieced together the memory of being a combat medic. If he recalled correctly, Shichiro thought it began like this. He was unconscious in a town, in the middle of nowhere with no recollection of how he ended up there in the first place. He knew it wasn't any place he'd been in Fiore so maybe he wasn't in Fiore at all and was located in a different continent. The smell of smoke filling his lungs was the first thing Shichiro remembered in that vivid dream of his. He was aware he wasn't conscious at the time but he could remember at least this much of the situation.

The sound of horses galloping and metal clashing filled the ears of those around the surrounding area. The smell of blood and sulfur filled the air as well as any would be traveler or solider. Corpses were littered around the area as fires, low and high, were burning all around. Blood soaked blades and broken ammo as far as the eye could see. It was clear there was a war going on although it was unclear who was fighting and why. All only fact of the matter was, there was a brown skin male dressed in a uniform with a large coat and a hood laying in the middle of the battlefield. That was Shichiro there, laying in unfamiliar clothes and colors. He was currently unconscious and was starting to come too. Groggily, he started to open his eyes as the smell of blood, sulfur and smoke began to fill his lungs. Sitting up, Shichiro began to experience a coughing fit from the mixture of smells bombarding his senses. Instinctively, he began to punch his gut as if he was attempting to force the smell of out of his lunges but to no avail. Standing slowly, he felt a little woozy getting up, his eyes clearing up and adjusting from just waking up. Already it felt like a lot to take in. Shichiro then tried to remember what he was doing here. At first he had no clue what he was supposed to do and decided not to think too hard about it. Suddenly, he heard the sound of horses galloping in the distance and it was coming closer to his position. "Search for any survivors", a voice had shouted from through the fog of smoke. Shichiro wasn't sure why, but hearing the voice seems to have filled him with relief as if he knows this person but sure enough, he one hundred percent knows he doesn't.

Deciding to follow his instinct, Shichiro decided he would seek out the voice that was calling out to survivors. He wanted to shout but couldn't muster the strength to do so. It took all he could just to stand up right but he was hanging on. He doesn't fully remember the circumstances for him to be getting hurt this badly but from what he vaguely remembers, he was also riding a horse with a small militia of troops he set out with from a kingdom he had never heard of before. He remembers those troops were also wearing the same peculiar uniform with matching colors too so he assumed they had to be his allies. The horse trotted closer in Shichiro's direction until he could make out what he was seeing since his vision had cleared up by then. Hoping to see a familiar face, Shichiro was disappointed to see a man he still didn't recognize riding on top of a massive white horse. He was wearing the same colors though but the man had all sorts of emblems and a shiny suit of chainmail armor layered under his cloak. The man stared at Shichiro while he looked at the unknown man, gripping his right arm as he started to feel intense pain. "You there boy, state your name, rank and squadron number and i want a full report of what's going on here, what the status of your squad is, where they are located and why in the seven hells are you not with them" the man had exclaimed in a brash tone. Suddenly, Shichiro felt like a dunce for feeling relieved from hearing a guy like this barking orders at him but he might as well give him the answers he wanted, or at least as best as he could. Mustering all the energy he could, Shichiro began to speak the first things that came to his mind.

"Private Shichiro Uchida sir! My rank is lieutenant from the forty third squadron from the medic corps, sir! We've managed to drive back the enemy out of this region but not without suffering heavy casualties! As you can see here, a lot of our own troops have been dispatched or routed. As far as i know, i'm the only one left alive since i had come too recently from an enemy sneak attack." Now, Shichiro wasn't sure how much of that was true but he had a feeling around seventy percent of what came out of his mouth was the truth or so he believed. Still, his report wasn't enough to impress the high ranking officer who after a moment of pause scoffed and began to give his response. "Ah, the squadron with the new commander in charge. I already knew this would be the case. I don't know why he was recommended to lead and now look at what happened. And you there boy, you also were an unfortunate victim under his leadership as well, getting ambushed like that, eh? You also look pretty young yourself so i doubt you now what to do without somebody giving you orders. Fear not, for i have arrived to guide your wayward body to victory. Come along, you yourself look worse for wear but you are a medic are you not? Then here, take this med kit and patch yourself up first. I have instructed my "elite" squadron to make camp up ahead. After you're done, you can make your way up further out of this town and group with them. There, they will give you some supplies to fight and heal as many as you can. You're not out of this one yet. You can rest when you're dead." With that, the high ranking officer had galloped ahead to see if he could find anybody else worth saving.

After that, Shichiro left the village and went to the camp he was instructed to go too. Arriving, he gave a quick glance around. It seems like a normal enough military camp at first glance. Now that he arrived here, Shichiro was pretty lost. He was just told to come here and for some reason, like an idiot, he obeyed and came. He did remember something about going back out on the field to continue to heal people still out in the fields of war. Just when he was thinking on what to do next, the pompous high ranking officer approached and looked at Shichiro up and down. He didn't say anything for a while before he started to point to a certain tent with a red cross on it. Shichiro once again, didn't question anything and just decided to go where he was told too. In a way, Shichiro thought he'd make a great mercenary someday other than following orders from rich nobles like him as well as healing duties. It was boring but at the same time, it was still a rewarding experience. Entering the red cross tent, he found that it was filled with nothing but medical supplies and a large backpack to carry them all in. Right away, Shichiro started to gather the medical supplies he thought he needed and placed them neatly into a large brown and green backpack. He also picked up a vorpal sword to take into battle with him. Even though he was a medic, it's not like he wasn't expected to go into combat or to get into a fight somewhere down the line, it was just unlikely. He decided to take a weapon just to be on the safe side since he didn't fancy himself a novice at swordplay. Either way, he was ready to head out. Unfortunately, he didn't know that the next scheduled assault would be the next morning nor did he notice that it was pitch black.

Shichiro decided to end his little daydream there as it was almost time for his match to begin. Turning his head from left to right, he wanted to see if his new companion was still around or if it had returned to the wild where he had found them. At first, he couldn't find him which kind of made Shichiro shrug. When he shrugged, he noticed his right shoulder felt heavier than his left though, not by much. Focusing his gaze onto his right shoulder there on his shoulder was the little lemur, sleeping peaceful. A faint smile had appeared on Shichiro's face as it had to be some kind of comfortable with him to immediately trust Shichiro to a degree that its so defenseless. Giving them a light pat on the head, Shichiro managed to slowly stand up to not disturb his companion's sleep before walking off in the direction to where the match would be held. He wasn't in much of a hurry but he couldn't exactly take a leisurely stroll so he had moved as fast as possible with disturbing the sleep of the lemur. Arriving at his destination, Shichiro had no choice but to remove the sleeping lemur and placed it in the waiting area while he prepared his equipment to go in for his next bout. After making sure to fasten his bruiser gauntlets, Jaan earrings and helmet of the werewolf King onto his person in their corresponding slots, Shichiro was ready to go out into the match and hopefully come out victorious. This particular match in question was hard the last as the opponent had the same physical prowess in combat as Shichiro did but in the end, he was no match for the power of Shichiro's half werewolf transformation augmenting his abilities even further. After winning this round, Shichiro collected his cut of the funds from bets and entry fees before returning to his companion and waiting for the next match of the competition.
